Problem With Library Files

Win7 is driving me crazy. The new "library" feature sounds like a good idea, but it is not working for me. I have taken a number of pictures from my hard drive, and burned them to cds, deleting them from my hard drive. However, these pictures continue to be listed in the library even though they no longer exist on the computer. When i click on these "pictures" in the library list in media player, nothing happens, and the thumbnails are generic logos, not a thumbnail of the actual picture. However, win7 will not allow me to delete these not-existent pictures from the library list. Any ideas?

Cannot Add Picture Files To Library In Wmp 12 And Media Center

Cannot add picture files to library in windows media player 12 and media center i am not able to see any of my pictures in windows media player or media center. I have tried removing folders from the library and then adding them again. They then show up, but disappear when i close the program and open it again, even though the folders show up in the library. The files show up fine in other applications. I have also noticed that the library retains some old filenames when i try to delete them but cannot open them. Any suggestions?

Deleting Problem Audio Files From Wmp Library In Win 7

Trying to delete music files from windows media player after i have deleted the music files from the windows library i have downloaded, listened to and burned music mp3 files from the internet using my new dell xps 9000 series computer with windows 7 home premium os. I subsequently deleted the music files from the windows library and computer but the files were not automatically removed from media player. I tried deleting them by right clicking on the files and then selecting delete as directed in windows media player help but nothing happens. How do i now remove the files from the windows media player window? I assume that by deleting the files from the windows library and computer first that i somehow broke the link between the media player and windows library.

Cannot Burn A Cd From Library

I have windows 7 and when i try to burn audio from my library it starts to burner and then i get an error message saying that my burner is not connected or something to that effect. I have tried slowing down the burn speed but to no avail. I am using a sony cd-r disc and the music that i trying to burn is not protected. When i go into the fix mode it says that the disc is not recognized but that it has been fixed.

I have checked to see that i have the latest drivers and i have. I was actually able to burn the three audio selections that came with the computer. The only other music i currently have is a classical album that i bought and downloaded from amazon and, that is the one i can't burn to a cd.

Error With A Call To A C++ Library

I am having trouble identifying the 'program' at boot (after bios boot is ok) that makes an error with a call to a c+ library. Restore was not enough to fix. Any ideas? Is there a way to go through windows 7 startup step-by-step to see when/how the failure occurs? I did a restore but that was not effective. I may have a system image but i am reluctant to go that far back.

2) regarding the system image. Is that able to be incrementally backed up? The first one took about 18 hours.

- There are no obvious symptoms after login but i would like to identify the cause of the error and fix. - New computer running 64 bit win 7. - Issue started after transferring programs from older vista 32 bit computer.

Media Player 12 Library Help

I am not able to delete any of the sample music that came pre installed on windows 7. I deleted the files from the my music folder/my videos but i cant delete them from windows media player 12 or windows media center. I would like to know how to do this. When i hit delete on them nothing happens same thing if i drag them to the trash. That's not close to the big problem though. I am not able to add any music to the library without it all getting deleted once i close wmp 12. How can i get around this?

It is a brand new computer i just bought it. It came installed with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It has no virus or anything like that wrong with it.microsoft sure did mess up with wmp 12, wmp 11 was great but they font have it for windows 7 that im aware of. I also tried to re-download wmp 12 but i couldn't find the link to download it. They kept trying to make me download a plug in for it instead of the player itself. Since there's such little problems with this operating system like this im already regretting not going with a mac.

Visual C++ Runtime Library

I have just upgraded my toshiba satellite l300 laptop from vista to windows 7, everything went fine with the upgrade except for when the computer is starting up. The whole boot process is fine until it comes to go to the sign in screen i get this message:

"Microsoft visual c+ runtime library
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
Please contact the applications support team for more information. "

To overcome the problem and be able to sign in i have to keep hitting the esc key over and over again until the sign in screen does eventually appear. When i sign in everything appears to work ok but i only upgraded the system yesterday and am worried that this will eventually become a bigger problem than it is right now.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

I just recently installed roller coaster tycoon 3 platinum! Edition in my window's vista computer. This game has always worked on my other computers, but right after installation i tried to start the program and this popped up:

Microsoft visual c+ runtime library
Runtime error!

Program: . Filesatarirollercoaster tycoon 3 platinumrct3plus.exe

Abnormal program termination

I looked at a lot of the other solutions for similar issues on these forums but none really seemed to apply. This computer was built for gaming, and plays games such as command and conquer and world of warcraft with no issues. I did, however, try to uninstall the microsoft visual c+, but there were two of them in the computer, and a third one called microsoft visual c+ updates. I uninstalled the two, but left the updates one. I reinstalled the program and restarted my computer. Same issue.

Can I Filter A Library By File Type?

I create some various types of content like newsletters, videos, website work, and i store all the files from each project together, sorted into folders by client and then project name. So you can see that while my pictures library may be a great way to organze my personal photos, i don't put any image files associated with a project into my pictures folder, right?

Well i don't really have personal pictures on this machine, so it would still be nice to just see all my picture files from all projects. I figured i might add my 'projects' folder to be one of the folders that gets aggregated into the pictures library. But when i do, everything from my projects shows up in the pictures library. How can i set the pictures 'virtual folder' to only show files of an image type, like only png, svg, gif, jpg, and stuff like that?

I seem to remember that libraries are based on "longhorn's" search folders, so how do i make it happen?

Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

Just recently, when i start my desktop pc, running windows 7, (which i installed three months ago, ) i receive many runtime errors. I also get an error for gadgets (settings.ini is being used. ) The runtime error! Lists the program as program: c:prog. Because the program title gets cut-off, i don't know which program is giving this error!  Some of the programs not running correctly are: adobe ("internal error") ms word, and even windows support seems to run in safe mode.system restore does not complete successfully and gives error code 0x80070005.

Dvds Not Showing Up In Dvd Library

I just got my notebook back from hp and they decided it would be a good idea to format the hard drive. Luckily, i had my dvd's backed up on my external hard drive so i didn't have to re-rip them. Anyway, before, i was running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and when i told it what folder my dvd's were in, it found them and automatically added them to the library - i don't recall having to to do anything special.

Now, i've reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64, so my os hasn't changed, but when i re-added the folders and tried to view them in the library (by clicking on movies), i get a message that says :there are no items in this library yet - windows media center is searching for media files in the background. To add more movies, you can go to tasks > settings > media libraries.

It does detect 2 home videos that i have in mpeg format, but the other ones that i kept in the normal format with video_ts folders within are not detected. Is there something i need to change so that wmc will recognize my movie collection again? I can get the movies to load and play using the "my movies" plug-in for wmc, but i'd much prefer to use the native movie library in wmc.

Adding A Network Drive To Library In Win7

Adding a network drive to the library in win7, or adding media to the library from a nas. I have a nas drive (linkstation) that has all my docs, movies, pics on etc.

I used to change the location in vista of the default movies, pics and docs folders so if anyone wanted quick access from within win-explorer to these files they could click the locations under the usher profile. In win7 we now have libraries, i want to add my files to the libraries so users have access to docs etc quickly without having to navigate to the docs etc.

However if i try and add a folder to the library it tells me its not indexed and then if i try and add it to the index i don't have the network drives as an option. Is there a way in win7 to add remote repositories of data to the libraries?

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

Getting a runtime error - program: c: microsoft visual c+ runtime library. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contract the application's support team for more information.

I have a killer nic card from bigfoot - installed the most recent version driver. I also installed a new belkin 40+ router. I didn't have a problem sunday or monday but today i do. When the error message comes up upon booting up the pc i get the error message. After that i don't have internet connection unless i unplug the cable to the router and plug it directly into the killer nic card. Anyone have a solution to this problem? What do i need to do to fix it?

Microsoft Library Component Has Stopped Working

I have found a thread with the same title in the windows vista forum, but i don't know if it is the same and it the issue does not happen exactly the same way. For me it can happen any time even if very seldom. It happens every time the computer comes back from sleep, from hibernation or at start up

At startup i have only what cannot be controlled, winpatrol and the anti-virus. The 12 remaining startup programs are delayed by winpatrol and scaled for up to 15min. It is obvious that something triggers the issue when the computer wakes up but not sure if it is a starting application.

Media Center Library Updating Issue

I am having repeated difficulty maintaining my media library with wmc. I am running win7 professional - 64 bit on a ibm intellistation 6223, dual 3. 6ghz xeon w/ 5gb memory. I have parred down my entire media library to one directory of ~20 pictures in an attempt to isolate the issue to no avail. Media player sees the pictures just fine: media center sees the picture directory, but claims it is empty.

I have already:

1. Rebuilt the database by following the directions give in another post by savan h, provided here:

Follow these steps:

A. Click start, type%systemdrive%programdatamicrosoftehome in the start search box and hit enter.

B. Right-click themediacenterdatastore. Dbfile and delete.

C. Restart windows media center.

(Note: i did not find the filemediacenterdatastore. Db, but did find and delete the . Db file called mcepg2-0. Db, but to no avail. )

2. I have uninstalled and re-installed wmc.

3. I have run system file checker (sfc) and no errors were found.

Why can't wmc see and display picture files that wmp has no problem with?

Media Player Not Showing Video In Library

I'm running 64bit win 7. The media player shows video in skins and now playing modes, but when switched to library mode or when initiated in library mode the video seems to play but doesn't display. How might this be corrected? Also, i'd really like the enhancement for video controls always displayed (as i've had in earlier m-player versions). How can i set this ?

Media Player 12 Won't Keep Music In The Library

This is really a terrible product. I upgraded to windows 7 during the holiday, and the wmp loaded my 75 gigs of music right away. Shortly thereafter it unloaded all of it - i could literally see it draining from my library. Now it will put something in the library if i pull it up from the hard drive and hit play. But it won't keep it in the library.

I've reinstalled wmp twice, with no success. Please tell us that a patch is on the way, or something. Or should all of us just head on over to apple?

Cannot Find Microsoft Visual Foxpro Support Library

I am running a dell inspiron (2010, don't have the product numerics memorized) with windows 7 64-bit. I tried to move a program over i backed up from an 03 laptop, which ran fine, that also ran fine on a thumb drive and activated through the computer its plugged into. The program is a database software for model trains called yard office, but that won't mean much. I had to factory-reset the laptop due to video driver issues not letting videos play out, and had not run yard office before that.

However, now, when i try to run yard office, it gives me the error in the title. I tried it in compatibility for ms03, with and without the service packs. None of those worked either, so i'm missing an obvious file that was on those systems. I do not however, know anything else about foxpro beyond that. I tried searching it on google (preferred over bing. Sorry guys) and didn't understand what the website was saying, beyond it sounds like i'll have to buy something that i should already have. Fat. Chance. It's entirely possible something got missed in the uploads when dell reset me. Beyond that, i don't know anything else, and look to you for guidance.

Ordinal 120 Could Not Be Located In The Dynamic Link Library Iertutil.dll

"the ordinal 120 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll", ie and many other programs won't start! Os: win7 home prem. X64 running as administrator, only user on machine. I installed a game recently and tried to run it and received this error, which causes it to crash each time. Doing the research, i found that this .dll pertains to ie8. Why a third-party game would utilize an ie8 .dll is beyond me.

I did a search for this and the answers all pointed to "uninstall and reinstall". Since i have win 7, there is no way to remove it completely or re-download the software again, so i went through add or remove programs > "turn windows features on or off" to uncheck/uninstall it, reboot, then check/reinstall it. I still get the error.

Other programs - ones i didn't think had anything to do with "iertutil.dll" - are now being affected by this as well, producing the exact same error. I ran revo uninstaller to uninstall the game and clean out any remaining files or registry items for it, but still get the error with some other applications, and ie still won't start.

One suggestion pointed to downloading the .dll from a third party website, but i could not find the correct version (8. 0. 7600. 16385), so i did not do this. Another post about a similar issue had a response instructing to do an sfc scan. I did.correction: sfc found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. I have the log if needed.

Whatever happened to this .dll also has affected my ie8. When i click to open it, nothing happens. It doesn't open in the background and hang - task manager shows no "iexplorer.exe" anywhere. It just does nothing.system restore is not an option. I would really appreciate it if somebody could actually provide me with a good answer. I have not had a single good experience with these msa forums at all for any of my problems.

Files Send To Dvd-rw Drive On Network Results In Deleted Files

"send to dvd-rw drive" when the source files are on a network drive results in deleted files! Windows 7 rc 7100. Have a mapped drive to another computer. I opened the folder, right clicked on a group of .doc files. I choose "send to dvd-rw drive". Responded to the prompt of "use like usb drive" or use in a cd/dvd player by choosing the 2nd choice. Then was faced with a prompt that filename.doc is no longer in this location cancel/retry/skip. All the files were gone! Not in recycle bin of either computer.

Programs Files Vs Program Files (x86)

What is the difference between the "program files" folder & the "program files (x86)" folder, in c drive? Various programs seem split almost equally between the 2, after i upgraded from vista to 7, except that internet explorer is in both, meaning that when i "open with" for a text file i get ie listed twice. Can i move everything to one or other of these & delete the other one? Is one for 64-bit and one for 32-bit programs or something like that?

A2c Files Downloaded As Zip Files

If you go to alice.org and try to download one of their image files, ie8 changes the extension from a2c to zip making the file unusable unless the user manually changes the file extension.

http://alice.org/index.php?Page=gallery/amusement park/index

In our school network users are not allowed to change the file extension so that does not work. I found that the user when downloading has to change the file type to all files and change the file extension then. This is a bother to have to remember. When i tried with a different browser (chrome) the a2c file was recognized correctly. The computers in my school are laptops running windows xp. At home my desktop runs windows 7 and the problem is there as well. There was no problem with ie7.
