Nvidia Geforce 8600m Gt Unable To Install / Update Drivers

Clean install windows 7 64 bit from vista 32 bit.nvidia® geforce® 8600m gt gpu listed as a 'standard vga graphics adapter' and unable to install/update drivers. I have a sony vaio vgn-ar51su and installed windows 7 64 bit.

I have downloaded the latest nvida drivers from here: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook_winvista_win7_x64_195. 62_whql_uk.html

Running the program it doesn't find any compatible devices. When i go to device manager and do it manually (update driver) and point it to the correct folder on c drive where the previous programme has installed all of the driver files it says 'the best driver software for your device is already installed' which, of course is untrue. Can anyone help?

Nvidia Geforce 8400gt Video Drivers Will Not Install

Video drivers will not install after successful clean upgrade/install of 7 home premium 64 bit on a vaio notebook that was running 32 bit vista. I have an nvidia geforce 8400gt card that isn't being recognized by the new 64 bit os. The video card isn't listed in the device manager, only the standard vga graphics adapter is listed.

When i attempt to install drivers found on nvidia's website, the installation wizard aborts with the message "the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware?" Any tips for getting my pc to even recognize that this video card is installed?

Drivers For Nvidia Geforce Go 6200

I have been attempting to upgrade a sony vaio laptop from xp to w7 using custom install. I am having problems with the geforce go 6200 driver in that w7 doesn't recognize it and wants to use the generic driver - does not go up to the full 1280x800 pixel resolution. After much searching i decided to try a vista custom install and had success with proper video identification and resolution. My question is what will happen if i try and do a w7 upgrade install on this laptop? Will the vista driver carry over to the w7 environment?

Evga Geforce 6200 Drivers Install Problem

Evga geforce 6200 256 mb vga drivers refuse to install from disk, nvidia, and windows update (error 80070005)! No aero in windows 7 ultimate!

Drivers site: http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?Lang=en-us

Tried the newest and the 2nd newest version in the 'beta and archived drivers'. Both failed to install for unknown reasons. At the end of the install shield installation where it's supposed to say something like "finished" it says that the system remains unchanged.

Went to 'device manager' > 'properties' of the device > 'details' tab > 'install error' says "access is denied. 00000005". The 'device status' in the 'general' tab says:

"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1) access is denied. To find a driver for this device, click update driver. " Which fails, since i think  it relies on windows update, which fails.

Geforce Gtx 260m Video Drivers Will Not Install

After windows 7 clean install video drivers will not install and say hardware that worked a mere few days ago no longer exist. When i first received windows 7 in the mail a couple weeks ago i decided to do an upgrade from vista rather than a clean install. At first it seemed fine, but then i noticed windows were crashing left, right and center and my computer was freezing at random occasions and quite often. So this week i finally caved in and decided to do a clean install and start from scratch. Backed up my files on an an external hard drive and got down to business.

Windows 7 finally installed and i had absolutely no freezing or issues. Then i realized aero, thumbnails and other effects were not working. I decided to do a windows rating and for some reason my video card was a 1. 0 and diverted to "standard vga graphics adaptor" from my normal 1gb nvidia geforce gtx 260m. I then tried to install the proper driver downloaded directly from the nvidia site only to receive the error "the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware".

I then tried disabling the drivers in the control panel, in the bios menu, auto repair though system security in the control panel and every other method from reinstalling windows 7. The most frustrating thing was that when i did an upgrade the driver worked perfectly and i had no problems whatsoever with it despite all the crashing and freezing. This is a brand new laptop from only a few months ago.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Edit: one of my hard drives are now missing, the computer tried to boot up and said no os existed, i've had my computer start and go to a black screen where the desktop should have been, froze on startup and various other problems. None of these issues occurred with vista, let alone the upgraded windows 7 and now i'm beginning to worry just what the clean install did to my computer.

Nvidia Geforce Go 7400

I recently upgraded my sony vaio la1 desktop pc to windows 7 32bit from windows xp 32bit. Everything seemed to go to plan, except that my nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card is not being recognized. Windows is instead displaying a 'standard vga graphics adapter' that will not let my computer display in its native 16:9 resolution, instead forcing it to display a stretched 4:3
I fully expected my computer not to run aero following the upgrade, but for the drivers for my graphics card not to work at all is extremely annoying.

I have tried downloading the drivers direct from nvidia, but when i try to install them, the installer simply says that it cannot find the nvidia card and cancels. Sony is no use at all.
I am a designer, so to not be able to see things in the correct resolution is going to severely affect my work!

Nvidia Geforce 8800 Problem

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit will not let me overclock or even change fan speeds on my video card nor even allow any software including nvidia to show gpu and memory speed. Right now i'm hating windows 7 x64 simply put, other than simple online tasks, i like to benchmark video cards and play a few games, right now windows found and installed proper drivers for my 8800gts 512 video card but does not allow evga precision or even nvidia software to show it's core stats or allow them to be adjusted, nor can i use nvidia own software to change 3d settings ie anti-aliasing etc, just nothing works!

Even when i go to the control panel and look at hardware it shows only my monitor not my graphics card, it's like it doesn't exist yet when i click on properties tab for my monitor and under device function summary in the hardware tab it shows the location of my monitor as "on nvidia geforce 8800 gts 512 (microsoft corporation - wddm v1. 1) so what the gives? It's like the card works, but completely untouchable settings-wise and if i try to install drivers myself from nvidia, just gives me errors!

Nvidia Geforce 7500 Le Driver Issue

Have an hp pavilion desktop (few years old), with an nvidia chipset, geforce 7500 le version. I've had windows 7 ultimate installed for a few months, with no display problems. On 12/27 windows update presented me with an optional update to the driver (listed as microsoft corporation wddm).

Installed, then restarted. No problems for about 10 minutes, then the display went blank and the speakers made a loud buzzing. Restarted the pc, and the start-up screen has a pattern of lines, then a screen with zeroes where the lines were, then an error screen, and the pc reboots again, and i then have to start in safe mode.

Went to the nvidia site, and installed an update to series 7 cards listed as 09/27. Same problem. Now windows update is listing a recommended update to the driver. Tired it, but it appears to be the same nvidia septemeber driver, so the problem persists.

Tried restoring to prior to the update. Didn't fix it. Then tried restoring to a previous restore point. On start-up, even worse, as safe mode resulted in a blank screen with the mouse pointer on it. I have to change the driver to a standard vga graphics adapter for me to be able to boot the pc up. Any ideas ? Is the graphics card now useless, or can i correct this ?

Error Code 43 - Nvidia Geforce 9800 Gt

Code 43 error + red squiggly horizontal lines on my screen. Red vertical lines on "starting windows" screen i installed a new hard drive on my computer several months ago and have had no problems with it. I also installed windows 7 at the same time. Again, no problems until today. When i booted up my computer, there were numerous bold vertical red lines on the "starting windows" screen. Then, when my desktop appeared, there were fine wavy/squiggly horizontal red lines all across the screen. Plus, the font and icon size were really large all of a sudden.

I was able to change the font size and icon size back to normal. Nothing seems different about how my computer performs, but the desktop has these weird squiggly red lines, and some of the pictures when i browse the web have the same lines. What is causing these red lines all of a sudden? I did notice that i get an "code 43" error message (windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. ) Concerning my nvidia geforce 9800gt when i looked it up in device manager. So i tried to download the most current driver from nvidia (for win 7 64-bit).

It didn't help and my computer still will not recognize/use this device. I tried re-booting numerous times. What does one do in this situation? The only thing i did differently today than any other day is watch a short video online from a secure website. That's it!

Nvidia Geforce 8600 Gs Lockup / Crashes

I have a problem with my graphic card with is as far as i know a common problem to the nvidia 800 series and again as far as i know the problem is caused by a building mistake when constructing the graphic card but i might be wrong.

My problem ac cures like this i'm playing a very light game world of warcraft (patched). When after 1 minute - 6 hours. My graphic card lockups/crashes, meaning that the hole screen stop's reacting and gives strange squared colors. Where the sound that i was listening to keeps repeating. If i wait while the crash/lockup is going on it will give strange different colored strings on my screen after a reboot. It's impossible to actually stop the crash ive tried multiply thing measuring temperatures measuring how much electricity it gets ive even tried lowering down the graphic details in wow(world of warcraft)

Neither of the things helped, it seemed after moving from windows vista home basic 32bit to windows 7 ultimate 64bit that the crashes had stopped  but after close to 1 month the crashed keep coming back and it got worse.

I'm what i would refer to a "advanced user". And believe me ive tried everything to fix the problem.
Ive even sent my computer to repair but they couldn't fix it they claimed my graphic card had a building mistake correct me if i'm wrong but these problems accrue for many nvidia 8600 users?

Heres some details that you guys might find helpful to solve this problem.

I have a stationary computer
With windows7 ultimate 64bit
I have 2 500gb hard drives.
And 2 gb of ram.
And i have a nvidia geforce 8600 gs

Nvidia Geforce Go 6150 Display Driver Problem

About a month ago i decided to upgrade my computers from windows vista home premium to windows 7 home premium. On my desktop i decided to do a upgrade which worked out pretty good, no problems, however, on my laptop i decided to do the fresh install. Everything went great until a few days ago, when windows update upgraded the video driver (nvidia geforce go 6150), i started to have trouble.

I first noticed that when i would move a window the background image would change to white, then i noticed that in my browser firefox i couldn't change themes, every theme would not work, it would still revert to the default theme. My ms money program's iu which is blue is now white and doesn't display anything but black fonts and white backgrounds.

For the last few days i have been searching for a solution. I found a new driver for my video chip (8. 15. 11. 8610) dated 6/03/2009. It has improved the situation some, just barely, but, i need a better solution. My hardware is as follows: hp pavilion dv9000z cto notebook pc, amd turion(tm) 64 x2 mobile technology tl-56, 2 gb of ram.

Nvidia Geforce 8400m Gt Graphic Driver Not Working

Following my question about aero peek not working, i have come to realize that my graphic driver has not been installed properly and that the rating of my graphics is only 1. 0.

Therefore i went onto my laptop company's site and downloaded the latest graphic driver for windows vista 32bit. As i now have windows 7 32 bit, i put the driver's compatibility as windows vista and ran it as an administrator and restarted my laptop.

From the device manager, now it says nvidia geforce 8400m gt, as it should. However, when i go onto windows experience index, and run the assessment again, it says: [windows experience index for your system could not be computed: cannot complete assessment. Etc etc]

Any idea as to why this does not work? Plus, is there a specific way of installing the graphics driver on win7 to get this working again? P. S. As i have said, i have already downloaded the latest version of my graphics driver.

Problem With Nvidia Geforce 800 Display Adapter

The resolution of my monitor changed (i believe after a windows update). I noticed that i had a problem with my display adapter because of the yellow exclamation point. The device status states:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) i have a nvidia ge force 800 gt adapter so i downloaded the latest driver from the nvidia site and i still get the same message.

Xfx Nvidia Geforce 6200 256mb Crashes

I'm having some issues with the xfx nvidia geforce 6200 256mb graphics card while running windows 7 in it. The computer seems to crash after a while or when trying to play a video file. There's no error message, it just crashes. The first symptom is a low performance in the mouse response, cursor moves too slow across the screen. Then the screen flashes a couple of times and then remains with stripes and dots all over it. Finally the screen turns black. Sometimes, if the
Crash is no too severe, my desktop refreshes and a pop-up message says: driver nvidia geforce 197. Has stopped working.

I checked, microsoft website and it says the nvidia geforce 6200 256mb is fully compatible with windows 7. I also tryed different drivers, clean driver installation and even the manufacturer of the card couldn't give me a solution to my problem.

My specs are:
Amd sempron 2600+ mhz
1gb ram ddr400
Sata hard drive 180gb
Nvidia geforce 6200 256mb
Pc-chips a31g v1. 0 motherboard
(I've updated the system bios, all other devices' drivers are updated as well)

Nvidia Geforce Gt 325m Graphics Card Problem

I have the asus-n61jv notebook with nvidia geforce gt 325m grpahics card on windows 7 32 bit. I downloaded the version 197. 16 driver from nvidia. By default my notebook detects the driver as standard vga graphics adapter. The chip type is detected as "intel(r)ironlake mobile graphics chipset". Now when i follow the manual driver installation the message i am receiving is "installing this device is not recommended because windows cannot verify that iy is compatible with your hardware. "

I have ignored the message and the nvidia geforce gt 325m is installed.

But when i go to

Control panel-> display-> change display settings and then click on the advanced settings link a window opened with the title "(default monitor) and properties". There is an adapter tab in there which i assume should list the details of the graphics card.

Here it is showing nothing i.e

Chip type: "unavailable"

Total available graphics memory: "unavailable" etc. One interesting point is even though the driver installation was successful when i shut down the computer and start it again it showed the message that "standard vga graphics adapter" is installed successfully and it replace the nvidia driver.

So i updated the driver files once again and the nvidia came back. On a test basis when i shut down the computer and start it again the "standard vga graphics adapter" took over once again. In device manager i can see two display adapters are listed:

1. Standard vga graphics adapter

2.nvidia geforce gt 325m

As fyi: i ran the wei but it reported an error and couldn't complete it. Any idea why is this happening?

Nvidia 8800gt Drivers Help

I have had this graphics card for a while, and i like it very much. Never had a problem with it from xp to vista. For the first few months of win7 i never had a problem. However, ever since the windows important updates through windows update a few weeks ago my nividia card stops responding, the drivers will fix the issue, windows and my card will fight for a while and then i get the bsod nvlddmkm.sys error code.

I always update my drivers manually, so i double checked and found out there was a newer driver that came out a few days after i began having this problem. No change. I use the solution center which hardly ever works or gives good information and basically everything aside from removing my nvidia drivers i had already done before seeking help. Since then i have removed the nvidia drivers and now its hit or miss on if windows will fully load before telling me there is a kernal problem and that my video card stopped responding. If it does load i usually have about a minute to 3 minutes before i have this problem.

I uninstalled the nvidia drivers and later deleted them one at a time. With no nvidia drivers in my computer i still get nvlddmkm.sys bsod which is only present in system32(since it's using the windows version of the drivers).

I've checked the compatibility of my hardware and the only other thing i have issues with is my lachesis mouse's cursor flying to the left on rare occasion (but that only started in vista, and im not too concerned).

I've run out of ideas, and the only other thing i can think of is that one of the windows updates did state that some programs or devices may work better or worse after this update, but not like this ever happened until the more recent windows updates.

Off the top of my head i'm running:
Windows 7 ultimate
Nvidia geforce 8800gt 512
2x 2gb ddr2 1066
Intel core 2 3. 0 proc
Gigabyte mobo recommended/bundled with proc
Razer lachesis
Thermaltake 700w psu
Wd 250gb hd (boot)
Wd 1tb sata hd
Lg dual-layer dvd burner/reader w. Lightscribe

Any ideas/assistance would be greatly appreciated. But again no hardware changes since before i got vista ultimate. Within the last 3-4 months no software updates (aside from malware/spyware/windows essentials) outside of windows update important updates, and the nvidia driver.

Nvidia Drivers Crash On Win7

I recently bought an amilo notebook pi 3540. I installed windows 7 professional on it but my the drivers of my nvidia geforce 9300m gs keeps crashing. The screen flickers whole the time and eventually it will completely crash (blue-screen error). I tried reinstalling windows 7 but that didn't help.

Now i installed windows 7 ultimate but it still crashes. This time however my screen won't flicker and there won't be a blue-screen error. The screen just goes blank and the system restarts. When i searched for the problem i found this analysis:

On wed 21/10/2009 9:00:43 your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys
Bugcheck code: 0x116 (0xfffffa8006e054e0, 0xfffff880048fe490, 0x0, 0x2)

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Bsod When Installing Nvidia Card Drivers

Important info:
Graphics card: geforce 7950 gx2
Ram: 2 gigabytes
Hdd: 400 gigabyte sata drive
Processor: amd athlon 64 fx-62 (dual core, 2. 8 ghz)

I have a shuttle pc, and am running the latest bios, not sure the version number, but i just flashed it several days ago when still on xp.

Okay, here goes. I just installed a clean copy of windows 7 x64 pro over windows xp. It was a major pain, i kept getting a blue screen error when setup was 'completing'. It was a stop error for file nvlddmkm.sys, which after some research, i believe it to be a nvidia file. I could not get win7 to install.

Finally, after hours of research, i finally got it to work by deleting the nvlddmkm.sys files during the 'expanding windows files' step. This was done via command prompt (shift f10). I believe i found the steps for this process here.

Continuing, i'm finally booted into windows, and i'm assuming that i am running the basic windows vga drivers. I ran windows update and attempted to install the drivers for my 7950 gx2, reboot, 'windows is starting', bsod. Boot into safe mode, uninstall drivers, install drivers from nvidia, reboot, bsod.

It seems that no matter what set of drivers i install, after i reboot, the computer will say 'starting windows' and then will get the bsod. The code is 116, and the associated file is nvlddmkm.sys.

I know that during the install process that i deleted the nvlddmkm.sys file from two locations. I believe one was in the system32 folder, can't remember the other location. Currently, this file is not located in the drivers folder (c:windowssystem32drivers).

Can you guys please help me in getting my graphics card drivers installed?  No matter what i do, i get a bsod after a reboot and before windows loads. I have tried several versions of the driver but to no avail. I believe i might need to copy the nvlddmkm.sys file to somewhere. I do have a nvlddmkm. Sy_ file that is packaged with all the drivers, but i believe it needs to be expanded?

Nvidia 8800 Gtx Drivers Issue

Whilst installing windows 7 ultimate, signature edition 64bit, on a machine using nvidia 8800 gtx xxx cards, windows 7 installer will eventually progress to installing drivers and updates, and upon doing so it will halt to a black screen and pop up an 80x25 (dos) cursor in the top left of the screen.

This is apparently (and was) a common issue with nvidia drivers on the newer cards (installing 182. Xx drivers) - however it appears that in at-least the dvd sent to me from microsoft, the drivers are automatically installed, causing the lock.

After this lock, leaving it there for around 3 hours of no activity, the machine can be manually reset, and windows 7 starts up to a point, and (before logon) it says:

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "ok" or restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

This also occurs in safe mode. Is there a way (software) around this and if so how? If there is a way to do a manual install (ie like in xp where you could type in the command line a bunch of parameters to tell it not to install drivers) then that would be fantastic since i can just tell it to skip nvidia drivers, and then manually install the correct ones later on.

Nvidia 7950 Gt Video Card Drivers Issue

I'm trying to install video card drivers on windows 7. When i first installed windows 7 and installed nvidia drivers everything was working fine for about a week. Now i can not get windows 7 to boot with video drivers installed and display my desktop. As soon as it gets passed the windows 7 boot logo my flat panel says no signal and turns off.

I boot into safe mode and uninstall the nvidia drivers and windows will boot just fine, but i have no video drivers installed. When i go into safe mode with that problem and i have windows troubleshoot it, it says that my video card drivers are up to date, but does not support wddm.

I have tried almost everything i can think of different brands of drivers and i don't know how many different versions but they all end up with the same problem. I'm running the nvidia 7950 gt video card with a asus p5b motherboard with the latest video card drivers on windows 7 operating system.

Blue Screen On Startup - Nvidia Phisx Display Drivers Problem

I am having a bit of a headache here. I currently run windows 7 ultimate. Everything had been running exceptionally. I recently ran driver sweeper and was rebooting with the application. It supposedly removed nvidia phisx, display and chipset drivers. Windows 7 now bsod's in the middle startup. I try to go into safe mode with any options and it bsods as well. I have run startup repair to no avail. Repair said it found a problem that a change in system settings but it couldn't do anything further. I tried to run sfc scannow on the command prompt in startup repair and it said there is a repair pending and it had to be restarted. I have windows xp on another hard drive so i can access directories that way with limited capability. I also did not set a recovery point nor do i have an image to return to. Any ideas?
