Cannot Log Into Xp Mode With Integration Turned On

I am using windows 7 enterprise and have downloaded and installed windows virtual pc and xp mode. I used the standard username of xpmuser and a password. Successfully linked to my company shared drives and installed the applications that need to run in xp mode. Fter a reboot of the main pc i can no longer log into xp mode with the hard drive integration turned on. With integration turned on, when i type in the xpmuser password i get a message "the local policy of this system does not allow you to logon interactively". I'm actually logging in twice. As the virtual machine starts, i enter the xpmuser name and password at a 'security' screen, then the xp session starts, and i get the error message above. Since the vm isn't part of a 'real' domain, i can't use my windows logon id, i am using the xmpuser name and password. I've removed and reinstalled virtual pc and xp mode and get back to this same problem. I get everything installed, but when the hardware is rebooted, i can no longer log in to xp mode.

Xp Mode: Enable Integration Feature Is Grayed Out

I had bought windows 7 and found i could not run my autocad program on it. I then bought windows 7 professional with xp mode so i could run autodad. Today i open my virtual pc and i get a window stating it could not enable integration features. When checking details it states: you can either try again to enable these features, or continue without these features. You can use the tools menu to enable integration features later. Integration features enable sharing. Well i click on tools and the option to enable integrations is grayed and i can not change anything. I check my start menu and i have two window xp mode short cuts. One opens and none of my program icons are there, the other won't open. Any help would be great. I am not a wizard, so lots of details please.

Login Problem On Xp Mode With Integration Enabled

Yesterday bought new computer with w7 home premium, bought & installed upgrade to w7 professional. Installed virtual pc & xp mode. After many frustrating attempts to log into xp mode (after the initial time), kept getting error message "you are trying to log into your own computer. This is not allowed. " I managed to get in. Set up two accounts as administrators (no passwords) now i can log in, but only if integration is disabled. If i try to enable integration, i get another (xp professional) login screen. When i type in one of the administrator user names (no password as they were left blank), i get "unable to log on because of account restriction", or some such garbage.

Outlook And Pastel Integration

I run a accounting package called softline pastel partner 2009. Before i swicthed to windows 7, i could send my customer statements directly to outlook through the "email as per customer file" function. Now when i try to do the same, it gives me an error "cannot send e-mail, please check e-mail or account settings" yet when i copy the data to an xp machine and run the function it works perfectly. I have tried to set all my permissions as administrator where i could, but still it gives me the error.

I have even re-installed the package into another directory to see if it will work there. Which leaves me with another problem. I cant remove the folder where it was initially installed in. The error say i dont have administrator permissions, yet when i go to user accounts, i am the only user, and set as administrator.

Please can someone help. I have contacted softline's support, but they say none of them have windows 7 knowledge, so no-one can help me.

Sound Turned Off Upon Restart

Whenever i restart windows 7 (ultimate), the volume settings of windows 7 have been turned completely off. Therefore, every time i restart windows 7, i have to go down to the lower right-hand corner of the screen (to the volume icon) and turn on the volume once again. This happens every time i restart windows 7. What might be going on? I'm running the latest version of avg antivirus, by the way, and there are no viruses showing up on my system.

Wireless Capability Turned Off

I was trying to connect to my work's wireless network which has some security i have to get to. I was trying to speed it up by checking the properties of that connection (right-click on the network name, clicked status). There was a button with the administrator logo on it labeled disable, and i accidentally clicked it. I was able to turn the wireless adapter on again, but no networks show up (there were at least five before).

When i hover over the icon in the system tray, it says no connections are available. When i troubleshoot, the only error it has is that it says wireless capability turned off and i can't find where to turn it back on. I'm using an asus notebook with windows 7 home premium installed.

System Restore Has Been Turned Off By Administrator

System restore has been turned off by your system administrator. I thought my problem was a easy one but not so. I am logged in as administrator windows 7 ultimate, i went to restore my system files and turned them off by mistake, so that i thought was no problem, i did know that it deletes all system restore files, so off i go again to turn them back on and guess what, it says the administrator had to be informed as they turned them off, after trying many ways of doing this, i resorted to no protection on my uac, this did not help, tried a new uac that did not help either, so now i am on my hands and knees hoping that someone out there can help, after such a simple mistake which i was allowed to do because i was administrator, i have gone to not even being able to system restore back on without contacting my administrator!

Bsod From Wakeup When Wifi Turned Off

I've been getting the bsod other people have, but mine has a definite cause. It will only happen on wake-up from sleep/hibernate (not sure about power-up) when the wifi is turned off. I have a laptop, so there's a little button you can slide left or right to turn the wifi on or off. If the wifi is turned off, but i manage to switch it on before the login screen comes up, i'm ok. But if i forget or i'm too late turning it on, the bsod appears.

I have an hp pavilion dv2610us with windows 7 pro x64. I ran the 64 bit version of the release candidate, which had the exact same problem. I thought it would get fixed with the final version, but i guess not. Is the fix for this a certain wifi driver? If so, anyone know which one?

This Program Is Turned Off (windows 7 Defender) Message At Startup

At every boot, i get the same message that defender is turned off. I click on the blue sentence to turn the program on and it tries, but cannot. I have ms essential running with no issues. What has to be done to stop the defender is turned off message at every startup?  Defender application itself will not open so i cannot check anything inside of it. Is there a way to reset defender to its factory settings or remove it and reinstall it without reinstalling the os?

Any advice would be helpful. I've already checked the services running place and found it is set to automatic.

Cannot Log On

We have a family computer with 4 users, 2 of which are administrators (parents). My son cannot log onto the internet from his desktop page. Earlier today a message popped up saying that the computer was infected and a anti virus suite message popped up and wanted to know if we wanted to buy this program. Have no idea how it got on here or where it came from. I have run an anti malware and anti spiware scan on all the drives on the computer and the anti virus suite message doesn't pop up, but he still cannot log onto the internet from his page.

When i want to log in to my email there isn't any log in button. I have to search all over to find where it is by clicking the mouse all over. The same happens on some games, or when i want to order something or doing surveys. It will say click submit and there isn't any button to click. In other words, those buttons or whatever you call them, have disappeared.

Unable To Log On To Win7

I am running windows 7 ultimate. I've been running on this for a few months. This morning, i went to log on and got an error invalid log on or password. I tried again, thinking i typed it wrong. Still didn't work. I rebooted in safe mode and was able to successfully log on.

I've created another account that doesn't have a password, and even logging into it i get the error invalid log on or password. I also did a system restore to 3 days ago, this didn't help either. I would simply back up my data while in safe mode and reinstall this laptop, except i have a program installed that i do not have the media for any longer. This is a program i need to do everything i possibly can to avoid loosing.

Black Screen On Log In

I have tried everything i can think of and nothing works. I looked up this problem and got nothing. So what happens is that most of the time when i restart my computer in anything but safemode i get a black screen with nothing on it but the mouse can move around. I first thought that this was a simple error and that i would use the task manager to manually open explorer.exe. Low and behold it freezes on me for about 3 minutes and then it says that i cant open the ctrl + alt + delete menu. So i restart my computer again and this time everything loads normally but now explorer.exe isn't responding correctly.

I can click on anything and everything has that white "program is not responding" color to it. Affter this i'm thinking i must have installed something that is messing with the explorer so i log into the computer running safe mode and everything works, so i thought it confirmed my theory and i did a system restore to the week before this started happening just to be on the safe side. I restarted my computer again and nothing is any different. It's been like this for a few days now what should i do?

How To Log On As Administrator Permanently?

How do i log on as administrator permanently? I have just gotten a computer with windows 7. I had a problem with a shareware program: the software key wouldn't "take" until i ran the program as administrator. I think it was happening because entering the registration code writes to the registry, and if would only be effective for that session; i.e. , It went back to trial mode with a restart.

Anyway, i am the only user on this computer; the account type is "administrator. " Does this really mean anything? Why do i still have to "log on as administrator"? Can i make this permanent?

Windows Cannot Log You On Because Your Profile Cannot Be Loaded

Powered down my windows 7 professional system and booted up a windows xp drive. Replaced the windows 7 drive back in and came up with this error.

Attached are other event viewer error logs in application section.

Source: user profile service
Event id: 1500
Details: windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, and that your network is functioning correctly.
Detail - access is denied.

I have had minimal experiance with windows vista as microsoft support kb says to just delete the user profile however i see that as a very weak answer too a problem. Especially for a custom user profile. Any help / advice into this without having to reload the os would be great.

How To Log Certificate Access Attempts?

I am getting an error from outlook 2003 and getting the error message, "the server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. " I know what the problem is, i need to enable the right certificate, but there's no information as to what certificate it is having a problem with. I need to know the name of the certificate or the certificate authority or whatever.

I actually see that in internet explorer too. Sometimes i might have a problem with a certificate, but it gives no details as to which one. Is there a way to log which certificates windows is trying to access or for the moment at least which one outlook is trying to access?

Cannot Log On To New Created User Account

I created a new standard user account via control panel/user accounts/manage accounts. When i log out of the admin account and try to log on to the newly created account i get error message "the user profile service service failed the logon" "user profile cannot be loaded". Click ok and it logs off. I can still log on to all other 5 accounts which i created after i set up this new laptop (pre-installed with windows 7). When you click on a new account the first time, the system should set up the desktop and create the user folders.

I went back into admin account and checked application event log. Event id 1509 "windows cannot copy file c:usersdefault to location c:usersnew test account. This error may be caused by network problems of insufficient security rights. "  Detail - access is denied.

Outlook Xp Problem With Log Into Email Account

When i added my email account to outlook xp under windows 7 i told it to save my password. When i clicked 'test settings' all of the tests completed.

Every time i run outlook xp it requests my password now! It does not ask for a profile. It says: pop., and the 'password' field is empty. When i type in my password it says the server rejected mylog in! If i go to my email account settings the password is in the appropriate field. If i click on 'test settings' all tests pass!

I went into notepad. I typed my password. I selected and copied my password. I went to my email account with internet explorer. I pasted my password into the appropriate field. I clicked 'log in. ' i was successful in logging in. I logged out.

I invoked outlook. It requested my password for: pop. I pasted my password into the appropriate field. I clicked: log in. Outlook told me that my email server had rejected my log in! I logged into my email account. I did not logout. I once again invoked outlook. This time i was not asked for my password. I clicked: send/receive all of my emails were received!

I called my email provider. I asked if he had any idea why outlook was not working. He said he had no idea. This never happened under windows xp. Does anyone know why outlook xp is unable to log into my email account under windows 7? Programmer for visual c+ 6. 0, and microsoft office including access.

Task Manager Can't Log Off User

I have windows 7 home premium with three accounts on it. Frequently someone else uses one of two the standard account on it and locks it down, i come along and log in with my administrators and log in and try to kill off their session. When i run task manager, highlight the standard account and then click logoff i get an error message user amy (sessionid=1) could not be logged off. Access is denied.

I've tried running task-manager from the system32 folder as administrator (even though my account is administrator) but i still get the same message. The amy (the standard user account) at this point shows in task manager as disconnected. How can i log of the other two users without re-booting please?

Can Log Into Admin Account But Not In Limited User

I shut my computer down two weeks ago before i left on a week long work trip. When i returned windows starts up normally except that i couldn't log in to any account. It would just hang at the screen with the spinning circle. I eventually was able to log in in safe mode, and used the fix from and now i can log onto my admin account but not my limited account. Also even in my admin account only starcraft 2 works. Every other program i have installed takes ten minutes or more to start up, if they do, and most freeze the first time i click on any menu. For example i tried clicking save as on an open office document and it was hanging for over two hours. Internet explorer, firefox, and chrome don't load at all, while open office and msoffice both load and freeze.

Windows 7 Freeze In Normal Mode, Safe Mode Works Fine

I am out of ideas. Three days ago my computer started freezing within a few minutes after startup. Freezes with no mouse movement and no keyboard. Must shutdown using the power button. Happens every time i start in normal mode. Safe mode works fine. I have done quite a bit of reading and tried a number of things, so far to no avail. Quite a few error codes present, here are some:

Winlog 6000
Service 7001
Distrib 10005
Service 7026
Event log 1101
Kernel 41
Browser 8032
Load perf 3011
Load perf 3012

I have tried restoring, turning off all non-microsoft services, disabling sound, updating video driver, memory test, adjusting bios per g skill tech forum. All hardware showing normal operation in device manager.

I can't find the minidump .dmp folder in c:/windows. The only location i find for .dmp files is in the watchdog folder, and there are quite a few in there. Let me know if i need to upload them.

My computer is a couple of months old and has been working flawlessly until this happened with one exception. (I have been getting occasional monitor blanking for a couple of seconds followed by a notification that the graphics driver has stopped responding and was successfully restored. )

Xp Mode

Why can't microsoft assist with a windows 7 issue that has not been resolved in the three weeks since i installed the os? Microsoft support has not yet found a resolution to my efforts of getting xp mode to work on my computer.

1. I have installed windows 7 professional in 64 bit on a new 1tb hard drive.

2. Virtualization is turned on inbios.

3. I am running a 3. 22 intel cpu. My ram is 4gb.

4. I have downloaded, installed and uninstalled xp modeand windows virtual pc at least a dozen times over the past three weeks.

5. I am the administrator and only user of this machine.

Yet every time i attempt to install xp mode, i always get a pop-up window that says: "the virtual machine configuration could not be created. User does not have sufficient access right. " The windows 7 forums have not helped. Does anyone at microsoft have any ideas how to fix this program?

Everything else (except a few dated drivers) on windows 7 appears to be working perfectly.
