Error When Trying To Burn Cd - Windows Media Player Cannot Burn Files

Windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I just burned a cd with absolutely no problems at all. Using the same type of cd, brand new, i attempted to burn another cd and got this error message: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish.

If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I've shut down all programs running, restarted my computer, changed the burn speed under the devices tab, everything i knew to do and all the things i've read through these forums, no such luck, still getting the exact same message. Any clue why my cd burner has decided to just stop working for me?

Error - Windows Media Player Cannot Burn The Files

Windows media player-error: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. Wmp cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver.

When trying to burn a cd wmp goes through the motions but only burns a some of the music and not others then ejects the cd with the message above. Some songs on the burn list have audio codec info some do not. I believe this makes a difference but am not sure.

I have done everything possible. I can burn a disk one time or a few then next disk i get that error. I have yet to burn the system restore disk and i am afraid to for fear of getting that error. Media Player Cd Burn Error

It starts burning and then stops when it gets to 99%. This error message pops up on the screen: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I'm using a laptop with windows 7 that already has a burner inside. Also, when i play the cd in a cd player it seems to work fine. So i'm wondering why it's displaying that message.

How To Burn Files To Cd/dvd?

How do i burn files to cd/dvd? I've spent the past hour trying to burn files to my cd/dvd. Even after i erase the disc and tell windows 7 what files to burn it tells me the files already exist on the destination disc or there isn't enough disc space on the destination even after i erase the darn thing.

Then when i finally get it start burning and even during what i perceive as the burning process that balloon keeps popping up telling me i have files ready to burn even though they were burned (at least that was the case the last time) i'm attempting to burn the same updated files that i burned a week ago. Apparently erasing the disc does no good. Am i missing something or is there an easy way to do this? Maybe some third party software would make things a bit easier.

Not Able To Burn Files To Dvd

Problems burning dvds i'm new to windows 7. I have read the instructions for wmp 12 and i cannot burn dvds. I had no problem in vista but this is a trial just getting the files into the player. Drop and drag doesn't work. I finally got the avi files into it but on one dvd player i have a pic and no sound and on the other sound and no pic. I used a dvd-wr, which didn't work at all and a dvd -r, which gave me the results i just stated. At one point, i got a list up of settings but i can't find it again. Both dvd players support divx. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Cannot Burn A Cd From Library

I have windows 7 and when i try to burn audio from my library it starts to burner and then i get an error message saying that my burner is not connected or something to that effect. I have tried slowing down the burn speed but to no avail. I am using a sony cd-r disc and the music that i trying to burn is not protected. When i go into the fix mode it says that the disc is not recognized but that it has been fixed.

I have checked to see that i have the latest drivers and i have. I was actually able to burn the three audio selections that came with the computer. The only other music i currently have is a classical album that i bought and downloaded from amazon and, that is the one i can't burn to a cd.

Unable To Burn Audio Cds

Unable to burn audio since loading win 7 but can burn dvd'si have 2 lite-on dh-20a4p combo's which will not burn audio cd's with a number of different burning programs tried in windows 7 ultimate. The funny thing is they both worked to their full capacity in vista ultimate burning both dvd's and cd's with no problems. With different types of media i'll get to the final stage of burning and the programs either won't give me the green light or they just hang. I am thinking that this is an issue with the driver in windows 7 and that perhaps there may be a way to load the vista driver.

When i use wmp 12 to burn i get the following message no matter what media i use.
"Windows media player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try inserting a different kind of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive. "

The disc has by then ejected. I have tried removing upper and lower filters in the registry to no avail. I can't remember if it worked whilst trialling windows 7 rc1. My hardware is as follows:

Operating system: ms windows 7 ultimate 32-bit
Cpu: intel pentium d 805
Smithfield 90nm technology
Ram: 2. 0gb dual-channel ddr2 @ 267mhz 4-4-4-11
Motherboard: gigabyte technology co. , Ltd. 8vt880p combo (socket 775)
Graphics: generic pnp monitor @ 1680x1050
256mb geforce 7300 gs (undefined) 48 °c
Hard drives: 195. 36gb seagate st320082 scsi disk device (scsi)
Optical drives: atapi dvd a dh20a4p ata device
Atapi dvd a dh20a4p ata device

Audio: realtek ac'97 audio for via (r) audio controlleri've tried many different things, eg: rolling back firmware, attempting to uninstall wmp 12 and replace with wmp 11 but i'm stumped. Worked perfectly with xp then vista unless something in the registry has changed in win 7. All diagnostics say both rom's are fine. What do you guy's reckon?  Ideas:programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem

Stalled Backup Burn Onto Disc

Yesterday, i tried to burn my weekly back-up disc. It stalled , so i canceled it. Today i tried again, was told to put in the old disc. I did and it stalled again when it came time to take out the first disc. I had to shut down and use the paper clip. I tried again with a new disc (the other one had finished). The process got to 63% and hung there for more than 1/2 hour. It never told me to insert another disc, although, after 2 hours or so it must be done. I will have to paper clip it again to get the disc out. I'm assuming i'm 2/3rds done with my back-up (i have a lot of photos).
Why does the program not say anything when it's hung up?

Cd/dvd Drive Does Not Support Gapless Burn

When trying to do gapless burn using windows media player 12, received a message stating that cd/dvd drive does not support gapless burn. The drive is part of desktop purchased 2 months ago. Went to cd/dvd manufacturer and received update for drive but gapless burn still does not work. Noticed in win 7 forum that same is happening with others who have bought win 7 and use wmp 12. What can be done to fix this problem?  What new drives exist that allow gapless burn using wmp 12?

Dvd Maker Problem During The Burn Process

I have a sony dvd camcorder (mini disc)and sony vegas movie studio 6 software. Since getting a new laptop with windows 7 i've been having problems with vegas movie studio (i think it may not be fully compatible with windows 7). But it does manage to render my videos to a recognizable format (mpg) so i turned to windows dvd maker, which looks like a great and simple program to use initially. But like many messages on this forum i too had a problem during the burn process - mine only gets to approx. 4% and then comes up with an error message (but the error message displays no detail). What can i do? Is there an alternative? Can i burn a mini disc onto a dvd-r for example? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Message - No Disc In Drive - Can't Burn Picture Cd

I selected about 40 pictures from a gallery folder to burn to disc. I get a window that opens and says "files waiting to be burned to disc" followed by a list of the selected image files. I click 'burn to disc', and am prompted to put an empty disc into the cd-rom drive. After i do, and after closing the drive door, i get a 'checking disc' msg. In the window. In a few seconds the drive door opens, and i see this message: "there is no disc in the cd or dvd burner".

"Please insert a writable disc into the d drive". This drive plays discs fine, and i had no problems burning when i used vista, but after a hd crash, i upgraded to win7 and this is my first attempt at making a disc. Is there some compatibility issue here?. Device mgr. Says the device is working. The driver is up to date.

Media Player Do Not Stream Mp3 Files To Lg Bd390 Player

Windows media player streams video, pictures to lg bd390 player, but not mp3 files. How can i get to work? I am successfully using wmp12 as upnp server over wireless network to stream video and pictures to lg bd390 blu ray player. However, while the bd390 shows audio file, on selection, it times out suggesting "network congestion issues". Is there a fix to this problem. By the way, nero homemedia 4 essential, which comes with player, does play all media types, but seems to be messing up my network in other ways. I would prefer to get wmp12 to work. I think nero product uses wmp12.

Media Player 12 Dropping Files

Just in the last couple of days i've noticed that albums i know should be in the wmp 12 list are missing. They are still available in my music, but the player no longer posts them when it lists the albums available. For example-a downloaded album from amazon that i purchased about 10 days ago was fine until yesterday, when it disappeared. If i try opening it from the my music file, it plays just fine, but the album still won't list in wmp.

I even tried burning the album to cd, and then ripping it back to wmp- which worked fine until i closed and re-opened wmp-and then no album. Very frustrating. I'm tempted to use the "restore media files" button in tools, but i'm afraid i'll end up with a mess. Anyone know what the problem is? I forgot to mention that i'm running windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

Media Player 12 Music Files Disappearing

For valentines day hubby built me a new computer and put windows 7 on it, which i am highly starting to regret. Anyhow i put my music i had backed up on my back up drive and it works fine, no problems. Then yesterday i ripped 2 c. D's on to it. I thought everything was fine shut down the computer. Then last night i went to play them and neither of them would show up on my media player, but both were in my music folder.

I deleted them and ripped them again and they showed up on the media player but the second i exit out of the media and go back to it they are gone, vanished, poof. I have tried restore media library and restarted computer come back they load on to the media player i exit out of the player and go back and once again gone. I have tried everything i can think of and still nothing is working and i am getting highly frustrated.

Windows Media Player 12 Problem With Mp3 Files

Will there be an update for windows media player 12 in windows home premium? Its doesn't play mp3 files well. Skipping in last 20-30 seconds of song no matter what driver i use. Programs having problems with: windows media player 12 on windows 7.

Recent changes you made to your computer: installed windows 7 home premium upgrade: clean install
What you have already tried to fix the problem: reinstalled the sound card driver. Upgraded to a creative sound blaster x fi sb0790 pci sound card and the mp3's still skip 30 seconds before the end of the song. This sound card was on the compatible hardware list so. That tells me there is a problem with windows media player. Not the sound card driver.

Avchd .mts Files Playing Problem With Media Player 12

I am new to this forum, would greatly appreciate anyone's advice or expertise. Windows media player12 is no longer playing *. Mts files on my computer. My operating system is windows 7 which came installed with wmp 12, purchased 3 months ago. I have not had any problems with this until recently -i have many *. Mts video files saved on my computer (transferred directly from my avchd canon hf10 camcorder to the desktop). They have always played in wmp 12 without a hitch until now (they would load up instantly when i double-clicked on them).

The appearance of the thumbnails for each file have been unaffected in windows explorer, but when i double-click on them (wmp 12 is my default player) all that happens is that wmp 12 loads up but does not initiate playing of the file. It becomes perpetually stuck in the "opening media" message and a psychedelic series of never-ending circles is seen in the lower left corner. Occasionally i will get the "server execution failed" message as well to mix things up. Wmp 12 is playing other files normally on my computer, including . M4v and . Avi files. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing wmp 12 through the windows 7 control panel, but this did not fix the problem.

I tried deactivating the "network sharing" for wmp 12, but this did not change anything. Interestingly, when i query the technical details of my wmp 12 copy(from the help menu), it lists several video codecs but none are listed as supporting *. Mts files (though none seem to list *. Avi support either, and *. Avi files have been playing fine). The mts files do open up in windows live movie maker, though occasionally they are choppy or only half the screen is presented. I have not done anything obviously damaging to my computer recently. I installed an epson scanner yesterday, not sure if this would affect anything but i un-installed all of its components/associated programs and this did not seem to help anything.

I tried installing the k-lite codec pack today but this did not fix anything, so i uninstalled that as well. Help i am not sure if i am just missing a codec for these files? My understanding was that windows 7 comes with all the codecs/files preloaded in order to play avchd movie files such as *. Mts, would these have been re-installed when i did the re-install of wmp 12? Could a file be corrupted somewhere in the registry that is interfering with this normal function? If so, how could i repair this? Could the k-lite codec pack have damaged anything in my registry or pre-installed codecs? I am not sure if that is what has happened since the problem with mts playback preceded installing this codec pack.

Burning Error In Media Player

I am using windows media player to burn a few cd's and i keep getting the same error message. The error message i get is:windows media player encountered an error while burning. Verify the burner is connected properly and that the disc is clean and not damaged. I use to not have any problems burning cds and now all of a sudden i do. Wmp acts like it is burning the cd and goes through the status completed, but as soon as it gets to 99% complete, the cd kicks out and i get the above error message.

Also, when it 'acts' like it is burning the cd, it goes through the process a lot faster than when it really is burning a cd. I am also using brand new cds, that are not scratched or damaged. I am using a laptop, so as far as i know, the burner is connected properly. I'm not sure what to do or how to resolve my issue.

Media Player Downloading Error

I opened an email containing a music file and  added it to my music library. When i tried to open/play this file, i got an error that it was in an unrecognizable format. I deleted the file from my music library and from the recycling bin, but i keep getting this error "windows media player encountered a problem while downloading the file" also, all my desktop icons are the windows media player icons, so no matter which ones i click on media player tries to open and i get the error. I've tried system recovery and that doesn't help.

Error C00d1199 - Media Player

When attempting to play almost any media file either audio or video, using almost any codec, including those that were previously played without a fault i now always get this error message claiming that the file is not supported or the codec is not known. I can now no longer play any of my music or video files using media player. I am running the 64bit version of windows 7 home premium. I have tried to remove and re-add the media player but the fault remains. In desperation i have tried to replace the codecs for all files but without success. I would like to delete and completely re-install media player but would prefer not to have to re-install windows completely, if no other solution can be found.
