Please Update Your Ati Graphics Driver Popup After Upgrading

After i upgraded from vista to windows 7 this pop-up is coming up every time. The catalyst control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ati graphics driver, or enable your ati adapter using the displays manager. I have tried everything and nothing works. It is not affecting any performance issues but just annoying.

Problem With Nvidia Geforce 800 Display Adapter

The resolution of my monitor changed (i believe after a windows update). I noticed that i had a problem with my display adapter because of the yellow exclamation point. The device status states:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) i have a nvidia ge force 800 gt adapter so i downloaded the latest driver from the nvidia site and i still get the same message.

Ati Driver Conflict - Display Crashes

I have an on going issue with my new system. At first i thought it was video/hardware related, but now i am leaning towards it being a conflict with windows. However, i have no way of tracking it down.

The issue: my screen will randomly die when running aero intensive applications, games, etc. Everything will run fine for a given amount of time (any where from seconds to an hour), but then the screen will clicker and the display will go out. On the screen i see a series of vertical white bars with a colors background. It does not appear to lock the computer up, as i still hear sound going in the background for a time; the computer will eventually reboot if i leave it alone long enough.

This is all running on a fresh install of windows 7 64x, upgraded from vista business 64. The temperatures on the card all read as normal, and there are no errors showing up in the event viewer after i reboot; outside of the 'unexpected shutdown' critical error.

When this first started happening i contacted xfx support for the video card. They had me uninstall the ati drivers, run driver sweeper, and reinstall the drivers. This seemed to fix the issue until tuesday, when windows update installed kb977074 - an update totally unrelated to video - and then the errors started happening again.

After a fit with system restore, i decided to format the drive and start over. Upon getting back in to windows 7 64x, i started installing programs one by one, checking after each install to see if i could create the error again. Everything was fine until i reached a program that installed the visual basic c+ 2005 redistributable package (x86). Once the error started to occur after this, i uninstalled the programs and did a system restore prior to the package installing.

The computer already had the c+ 2008 (x64) package installed, and worked fine once the 32-bit 2005 package was removed. However, most programs i want to use, and most games for that matter, require the 2005 package to be installed. So i re-installed it, and removed the 2008 package; thinking it was a conflict between the two (/straws), but that did nothing. The errors returned, and i an now back at square one, hiding on the last stable restore point of the system.

I am not sure if i am still dealing with a driver conflict, hardware issues or if the c+ packages are some how messing up my system. I am not putting much faith in the latter, because i do not believe the first scan with driver sweeper would of been so successful, only to be taken down later by a totally unrelated windows update file.

Ati Radeon Hd 4850 - Poor Graphics Display

I'm running windows 7 on a 27" imac using an ati radeon hd4850 graphics card. The problem: rather than smooth gradients between colors, the graphics are "stepped" or striated. Ie. Rather than a grayscale gradient smoothly transitioning from black to white, it steps through a series of gray tones from black to white. Using ati's catalyst control center, i can change the color quality from high (32-bit) to medium (16-bit) and this affects the gradient, but is still not a smooth transition. On the mac os side of the machine the graphics are beautiful. I've tried everything and called everyone.

Ati Display Driver Cause Windows To Temporarily Freeze

Microsoft security essentials and ati display driver cause windows to temporarily freeze for 1-2 minutes after system startup. I am running windows 7 professional 64 bit with an xfx ati radeon hd5750 graphics card with the latest ati display driver (ver 10. 6). I have also installed microsoft security essentials and there appears to be some sort of conflict between the display driver and security essentials.

Everytime i start windows, shortly after the desktop appears (within 1-2 minutes) windows freezes. The mouse will move on the screen but you cannot click on anything nor use the keyboard. This frozen state lasts for about 1-2 minutes and then everything appears to return to normal. I have isolated the issue down to these two components. If i disable the microsoft security essentials service and then re-boot the computer then it starts up just fine without any pauses or freezing.

Also, if i uninstall the ati display driver and allow security essentials to startup automatically then everything also boots up fine with no pauses or freezing. The problem is with both of these components together. Do you have any idea as how to resolve this issue. I need the display driver in order to use the features in the graphics card and i would like to use security essentials as my antivirus software. However, the continual freezing of the system everytime i boot up is very frustrating.

Dell 2209wa Monitor With Ati 4800 Card Display Issue

Images look like they are 16 bit when display on 64-bit windows 7 with a dell 2209wa monitor with and ati 4800 series gfx card. Using the latest version of catalyst (8. 661. 0. 0), driver for monitor was automatically provided during windows install. When i say 16 bit, i mean that the images have serious colour banding issues when displayed.

I have tried viewing images in standard windows viewer as well as photoshop cs3 with the same results, the images look fine in xp, but i want to start using windows 7 because i can use all the 4gb of ram i have. I have looked on the dell website but the provide no drivers for windows 7, device manager shows the driver is from dell and is version 1. 0. 0. The display settings are showing as 32-bit colour depth in windows display control panel, as well as in the catalyst software.

Radeon Hd 4650 Drivers Failing

When i try to play call of duty mw2 i can successfully finish up playing a game and nearly 90% of the time when it gets back to the game lobby the game will freeze for 5-10 sec, go to a black screen, and then about 20 sec later it will put me back into the game and sometimes it will repeat 2 more times, but usually just one time. I have gotten this error a few times, but it does not pop up everytime this happens:

Radeon 4650 Driver Problems

I have done a completely clean install of the drivers for the card radeon4650. I used driver sweeper and the add/remove programs. I also downloaded the drivers directly from the amd website. However, my computer is still not recognizing the drivers. I am running xp pro, older cpu is pentium 4 and have 2 gigs of ram. I was told the card would be compatible.

I can use the pc to get online and such but my wow and aion games both give me error messages and refuse to open. Basically they say that a suitable display device cannot be found or the specified path. I am lost as to what i should do next. Incidentally, my old card was nvidia 6600.

Display Problem With Display Driver When Multitasking

Just installed windows 7 home 64 bit a few weeks ago. I have been having a problem with my display driver. The screed flashes and turns black and then comes back on with a message in the lower right of the screen that reads "display driver stopped responding but has recovered". I have attempted to download and install a driver from amd web site, which is supposed to be the correct driver. When i attempt to install this driver my computer restarts because of a corrupted driver. Windows won't let me install the driver that is supposed to be the correct one. The graphics card is a ati hd3470. How do i fix?

Also i am missing other drivers for my fitjitsu lifebook a6220 like audio for hdmi output and many more. All was working fine with windows vista, now im missing several utility drivers i called fujitsu they say they are waiting on microsoft! If windows 7 was to be released all parties should have been sent a fix with all drivers not wait for the consumer to purchase windows 7 and have to deal with all the problems!

I just installed windows 7 on my laptop and the power options page doesn't display a "dim the display" option, nor do the keyboard commands to dim the display do anything. I am running a lenovo g530 machine and there does not seem to be driver support for windows 7 on their support page. However i downloaded the mobile intel 45 chipset graphics driver for windows 7 and i downloaded the newest bios update; nether seemed to solve the problem.

Toggle Between Monitors

I used to be able to use pf7 on my sony to toggle between monitors on xp. Now i have win 7 and a brand new samsung lcd monitor and after installation the new software that came with it, the only monitor my laptop recognizes is the samsung. In the 'hardware and sound'view devices and printers"the only monitor the laptop has registered is the samsung and not the laptop, however, the only screen that is usable is the laptop and not the samsung.

The laptop screen is no longer listed in the drop down menu. How can i fix it so that i can toggle between the 2. ? I've tried uninstalling the software that came with the samsung. The other problem is that the image size on my laptop is now about 75% of the screen size and there is nothing obvious about how i can make the image larger. .

Win 7 And Triple Monitors

I am running windows 7 64 bit release candidate. With a dual monitor nvidia (pcie) 9800gtx+ card and an nvidia (pci) 9500gt card, i have had nothing but grief in trying to get win7 to recognize the cards. Downloading the windows 7 drivers from the nvidia site did not help. Upon installing the drivers, the machine blue screens and does a full memory dump before rebooting.

After reboot, it uses standard vga drivers. Both video cards' drivers are not used and are reported as having a problem in the device manager. Uninstalling one video card does not help. Uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling them does the same-  blue screen/ memory dump. The machine has a gigabyte motherboard with 4 gig of corsair memory and an intel q6600 processor. The same setup is being used on windows xp on another hard drive. It is running three monitors with no problems at all. The drivers downloaded is a whql-certified driver. The version is 186. 18

Dual monitors, whilst using dual monitors i could not maximize the windows as shown in the task pan when i hover the cursor on it. I disconnected one monitor and the problem disappeared. I disconnected the other monitor and again the problem disappeared. I switched connection between the sockets ( i.e. Monitor to plug b and vice versa) and the problem disappeared. Any ideas how to restore to dual monitor viewing?

Media Center And Two Monitors

Current setup: using two monitors on my laptop (built-in and external display). Running windows 7 professional 64-bit

Problem: i watch movies/netflix/media center on my external display. When watching movies, my laptop screen just displays whatever was left on it for the entire time.

Solution? Without having to close my laptop, is there a way to make the un-used screen turn off while watching a movie? Either some sort of plugin/application, or maybe a setting in windows or media center? I've just been letting it stay on for now, but i don't want my laptop screen to get burned in.

Windows Does Not Turn Off Monitors

I have a weird problem when windows will all of the sudden stop turning off monitors after 10 min of inactivity (or whatever is set in the power plan settings). What is weird about it is that it happens only once in a while, sometimes after 3-5 hours of normally doing so, sometimes from a reboot. However, once windows stopped turning off monitors only reboot can generally help. Generally, because sometimes i need two reboots for it to work.

It happened with a different motherboard, with both of my monitors, with integrated graphics and with two separate graphics cards. I do not use wireless mouse. I tried closing all possible programs but with no results. Minimal boot is not really a way of troubleshooting, because 'turning off monitors' usually works after reboot.

Please help, it is really annoying to come home and see that your monitors are illuminating the whole neighborhood.

Motherboard: gigabyte ga-ma790gp-ud4h
Chipset: amd 790gx
Video: ati radeon hd 3450 (powercolor)
Display: hp lp 2475w (over hdmi) and sony x82 deluxe (over dvi)
Os: windows 7 x64

Separate Settings For Two Monitors

I have a laptop computer with its built-in lcd display. I have added an external monitor, also an lcd unit, through the vga port on the laptop. In windows 7, with the screen resolution -> multiple displays set to "duplicate these displays" ((i.e. , The same thing shows on both the internal and external displays), is it possible to have each monitor set up separately in terms of the display model, resolution, etc. ?

If not, only one monitor can be optimized at a time, either the laptop lcd or the external monitor. I realize that i can adjust these settings for each monitor as long as the multiple displays setting is "extend these displays. " When i have this field set to "duplicate these displays, " the display value is locked on "1/2. Multiple monitors, " with no way to adjust the two displays individually.

Cannot Expand Window Across Monitors

I process large spreadsheets and have configured my system with 4 monitors. Under xp and vista, i could expand my spreadsheets across all monitors so i could view very large records without having to scroll left or right. But with windows 7, everytime i expand across screen boundaries the window resizes to fit into only one of my monitors. (Note: this happens with all windows, not just excel. )I've disabled aerosnap under the ease of use features for mouse, keyboard and tasks, but it did not solve this problem. So my question:  how do i configure windows 7 to allow me to expand across screen boundaries?

Dual Monitors, Trying To Get Them To Work

Me and my friend are attempting to connect two monitors to his desktop, and we have the computer connected properly, but the monitor is not receiving any kind of signal from the computer (it won't turn on, just has a black screen or says in power saver mode). The main monitor works (obviously, since l am posting this) and it connects to the nvida dvi card (a installed video card), and the second monitor is a vga. The second monitor we want to hook up we want to use on the old video card that came with the computer, and we have the ports for it.

However we cannot get it to work, and it is quite frustrating. We have tried to update the software, but we believe he may have disabled the second video card without meaning to, and we need to know several things at this point:

1. Can we use dual monitors from two different computers and use them to do different things (i.e. Use it to surf two different websites with two different keyboards/mouses, or play two different games (our intention is to play wow off the computer) in this manner)?

1a. If so, can someone please link to a site that would be easier to read and understand? (We have been to a few already posted but they are confusing or just say the same things and aren't working).
2. How would we re-enable the video card should it be turned off? Again, simple steps please.

3. Can we use the two separate video cards to run the two different items on the computer, or would they both be forced to run off the one video card?

3a. If so, is there anyone who can explain how to link one monitor to one video card and not the other?

Dual Monitors - Black Bands On One

Dual monitors, black bands on one and the other monitor is fine using nvidia scaling, i recently upgraded from vista to windows 7 x64 via a clean install. I have dual monitors that i use on a daily basis. Both of them are wide-screen format. I prefer to use 1280x1024 which is far under the native resolution of both monitors because the icons and texts are bigger and easier to read. With vista, i didn't have a problem but hopefully someone can help.

I use a geforce 8800 and i downloaded the nvidia drivers so i can access the control panel to customize. With the first monitor, it gives me options under "adjust desktop size and position" and i selected "use nvidia scaling" and everything is back to normal. However, when i click on the second display that i would like to change, instead of providing those options, it gives me an option to move the screen up down left or right.

I thought that my selecting the nvidia scaling it would go in effect for both monitors, however it only shows it for one so i figured i have to manually do it for both. The other one is 1280x1024 with black bands on the side and it is frustrating trying to troubleshoot this. Can anyone provide a solution?

Dual Monitors Problem In Win 7

I have a dell laptop. I plugged in an acer al2223w monitor by vga cord. I went to screen resolution to setup dual-screens, and the acer monitor is identified, but it is the only monitor i see. It does not show 2 screens. The acer monitor is indicating that it has no signal. When i click "detect monitor" nothing happens. It is as if i have only the acer monitor on the system, even though the acer screen is not working? Please help if you have any information. Shouldn't the laptop screen also be showing in the screen resolution setup?

Compare Windows Snap Using Two Monitors

Using vista and xp pro, i would open two occurrences of windows explorer and manually arrange them to be viewed side by side, which allowed me to conveniently move files around.

Windows 7 automates that task through its snap feature, a feature that allows windows to be compared side by side by simply dragging an occurrence of the window to a side of the monitor.
I use two 24" monitors.

When i drag a window, such as a version of windows explorer, to the left side of the screen of monitor 1, it snaps perfectly into place and has a width of about 1/2 of the monitor on my left. That saves me a tremendous amount of time.

When i drag another window to the right side of monitor 1, it continues to travel to monitor 2. The window i wish to compare does not snap into place until it reaches the right side of monitor 2. Is there a setting that allows the snap feature to recognize i want the additional window to snap to the same monitor as the window snapped-to on the left?

Aero Is Automatically Disabling With 4 Monitors

Should be able to run anything, no sweat. But when i try to hook up 4 monitors windows aero automatically disables with the error message: "the color scheme has been changed to windows basic - the current color scheme has exceeded its allowed memory so the color scheme has been automatically changed to improve performance. "

How do i allocate more memory?
How do i stop it auto disabling?

I don't want to be told that it's because my graphics cards arn't good enough cause aero works fine on them independently. Here's my machine:

I7 920
Geforce gtx 275
Geforce gt9800

Problem With Dual Monitors In Win 7

I have two lcd monitors connected to an nvidia 8800 gtx graphics card. One lcd monitor is an older and smaller 22" samsung syncmaster 225bw. The other one is a brand new 24" s2409w dell lcd monitor. I obviously want the newer dell to be the primary monitor, and extend my desktop to the samsung. However, no matter how many different ways i connect/disconnect/reconnect the two monitors, windows 7 always assigns the older samsung as the primary display.

I went into display properties and clicked in the check box to make the dell the main display, and that seems to have "kind of" worked. For the most part, the dell is being used as the main display, but is still labeled as display 2. So, when i went to start windows media center, it comes up on my samsung monitor, which is my secondary(extended) monitor. My guess is, it does that because my samsung monitor is still labeled as display 1. So, i have two questions:

 1) how does windows 7 decide which monitor is display 1 and display 2? (You would think it would be by the order in which the display is connected/installed, but that is not the case).
 2) is there a way to force whoich monitor is display 1 (or 2)?

Using 2 Mice With Dual Monitors Setup

Is it possible to use 2 mice when dual monitors is setup? 2 mice with 2 cursors*premise:my partner and i have a home theater pc in the making with 2 monitors set up. We use one monitor for basic computing -web browsing, word processing, etc. The other we use for media and video streaming.

Problem: we both want to utilize the varied functions at the same, but constantly run into "sharing the mouse". We've tried setting up hot button keys on our iphones with mixed results. Solution:i think the problem would be solved simply by being able to install two mice on our system, each having its own cursor, but i cannot find a "software" solution. Question:is there anything i can do to windows 7 that will allow me to achieve two separate mice, each with its own cursor?

Screensaver Inactive Across Dual Monitors

In using dual monitors - one dvi and one vga - i cannot get the screen saver to show across both monitors using windows 7 (although this was possible in xp).

In xp, you could use dual/two monitors - one dvi and one vga - and they will both screen save; however, windows 7 will not (similar to vista). I recently installed an evaluation copy from a dvd on a dell 745 with a dvi card at work, and on a hp with vista at home, and they're both doing the same thing: the dvi will screen save but the vga will not. You can have the same machine running xp with dual monitors - one vga and one dvi - and when the screen saver clicks in xp, it the screen saver is active across both monitors but vista nor windows 7 will screen save across both monitors.
