Unable To Connect To Print From Network Printer

After upgrading to windows 7, unable to connect to homegroup & not able to print from network printer. Windows 7 upgrade from vista loses network connectivity to windows xp, and mac osx computers and can't connect wireless network printer. Hi, i have recently upgraded my laptop from windows vista to windows 7. While working in vista i had access via a network named mshome to our other windows xp laptops and 2 macs running osx as well as our network laser printer (lexmark c530dn).

Now my laptop can't see the other laptops or macs but can still print to our network printer, and obviously access the internet. I'm guessing that i'm going to have to setup a new network in order to see our other machines. In addition, i have recently purchased a wireless multifunction inkjet printer (lexmark s400 series). The xp laptops and osx machines can print etc. While my windows 7 laptop won't.

The software is installed, latest drivers downloaded, and the printer status is ready but it won't even print a test page. If anyone could give me some advice about the best way to set up a new workgroup (or reconnect to our old one) and get my new printer working i would be really grateful. As you can imagine, i'm now more than a little frustrated with it.

Network Printer Cannot Connect

Its for my homegroup network with both computers running windows 7 (pc is on 64bit and laptop is on 32bot). I can print from the pc where the printer (epson) is connected via usb but i can't print from my laptop through the network. The homegroup works fine enough, i can access files through it. I thought originally it was pharos that was upsetting the computer (installed very very poorly and finally days later managed to get every sign of it off the laptop) - but now i get the printer being found but it won't connect!

I've been though a couple of other threads but none of it seems to work. The file and printer sharing has always been connected (as my brother from his xp computer can print to my printer) and the firewall lets it through. Is there any other way? The permissions are set to print for everyone so its not that either. Does anyone know how i can get my laptop access to print?

How To Connect To Canon Ip4000 Printer On Network ?

How to connect to canon ip4000 printer on a windows xp machine from a windows 7 machine on the same home wireless network. Using add printer on the windows 7 machine i can see the printer but i get an error saying that a driver cannot be found although the correct driver is available on the machine. I have no problems connecting to the same printer from a notebook running vista or if i attach the printer directly to the new machine. I've tried loading the windows 7 driver on the xp machine but that didn't seem to work either.

Cannot Connect To Network Folder Or Printer After Update

Suddenly after february update i cannot access the network folders, our network printers with my windows 7 machine and the logon script is not running because its on a shared folder. After a late night trying different solutions i did a system restore to a date before the update and it work directly after reboot.

Some time later the updates is reinstalled and the problems is back. When i try to connect to a computer or server in the network by typing computername or ipadress in file explorer i get the error 0x0004005 and also all my network printers are offline.

Internet access and all other access is possible, i can connect to other computers with remote desktop and from them connect to shared folders on my local win 7 pc. What the heck has happened? I also tested all the network trouble shooting guides but they find nothing.

Cannot Connect Vista Network Printer On Win 7

I have a vista home premium network (32 bit) with 3 laptops and a desktop that has a canon mp520 printer attached to it. This is a networked printer and works fine with all networked pcs.
I recently upgraded one of the laptops to windows 7 (32) bit and could no longer print from this laptop. When i try to add the canon mp520 network printer i can see it in the select printer dialogue, however when i select it i receive an error "operation failed with error 0x00000002

The other pcs still work fine when printing to the network printer.

I also tested the printer locally on the windows 7 laptop and it works fine as a local printer.
The computer name where the printer is attached locally is called 'family-pc" and the printer name is "canon7".

I tried to define the network printer on the laptop as a local printer by defining a new local port for it and entering the printer network address, "family-pccanon7" however i receive an "access is denied" error.

I have disabled the public, domain and private firewalls on teh windows 7 laptop as well and this has not allowed me to attach a network printer either. I have also created a new user on the laptop with the same results.

Can't Print To Network Printer

I just upgraded my desktop and laptop to windows 7 a week ago. When using vista i was able to print over the network to my hp photosmart c5280 printer. Now, when i attempt to print from my wirelessly connected laptop it appears that it was sent to the printer fine, but nothing ever prints. My desktop is hardwired(usb) to the printer and i can print fine from it. My desktop is ethernet connected to my router and my laptop is wirelessly connected to the network through the router as well. I tried multiple times to connect both systems to a home group and everything appeared fine.

At times however i could only see one system or the other though both were still connected to the home group. I have already installed the windows 7 drivers and software from hp on the desktop and the drivers on the laptop. I can see the printer from my laptop as being shared, however when i print nothing ever actually prints on the printer. I removed both computers from home group and just set up the folders and printer to be shared like in vista however i am still getting the same problem. I ran the troubleshooters on both systems for the printer and network and homegroup and found no problems.

Cannot Print To Network Printer Canon Mp620

Windows 7 laptop cannot print wirelessly i.e. When i first upgraded the laptop, i set up wireless lan on the printer, and it was fine - after two days, the printer was still detected, but nothing would print: no error numbers, simply no documents showing in the print queue. Uninstalled and re-installed all the printer drivers - now it will only work via usb. Any help please, n. B. I am not a very 'techie' person. Thanks in advance p. S. I did try the local port and computer name, etc. Suggestion above - didn't workfor me ( maybe i did something wromg, though).

Brother Mfc-425cn Printer Problem To Print On Network

I do have a brother mfc-425cn printer and i cannot get it to print as network printer (which was no problem with windows xp). When installing windows 7 drivers, it has been found correctly and without problems in the network. The whole installation process worked fine. However the printer does not react, when i want to print s. Th. So i did the windows 7 troubleshoot. The following 2 problems are found but cannot be fixed automatically:

1)"printer brother mfc-425 usb printer cannot be contacted over the network" - "not fixed".

2) "problem with wireless adapter or access point" - "detected"

As i said the printer was found in the network without any problems during installation. I also have no problems to access other computers or the router in the network. Internet access is fine. So the whole network seems to work just fine, just the printer does not respond.

Word Or Excel (2007) Can't Print To Network Printer

I installed a new pc running windows 7 on an existing network with a shared pinter on one of the xp computers on the network. I'm able to add the network printer and print the test page and can also print from notepad. However attempts to print from word or excel (2007) or a page on the internet all cause the program to "not responding". The print windows comes up with the printer selected as the default printer but hangs when i select print.

I connected another windows 7 pc and got the same results - test page and notepad print ok but not word or excel. Note, i installed the new dell print driver for w7 and also tried the old xp driver - same results. Printer is a dell mfp-3115cn. Any ideas?

Printer Problem - Print Job In Print Queue Is Preventing Other Print Jobs

Cannot print from new laptop to shared printer - "a print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing". I recently bought a new laptop and want to print to a printer (hp color laserjet 1600) i have shared over the network from a windows 7 (x64) machine. When i try to print from my laptop it stays in the print queue and i have to run the troubleshooter on the host computer to resolve the issue and allow it to print.

If i run the troubleshooter on the laptop it tells me it could not identify the problem while on the host it tells me "a print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing" and it says it fixed the problem and prints the document but i have to do this every time. I also have this printer added to a laptop and a netbook and they both print the document just fine and have no issues. The laptop i am having the problems is running windows 7 (x64).

Hp Inkjet 2230 Printer - Print Jobs Stuck In Print Queue

Print jobs stuck in the print queue and will not print on windows 7 64-bit driver for hp business inkjet 2230 printer. I have installed the current hp universal printing pcl 5 driver on my windows 7 64-bit os. When i try to print a test page on my hp business inkjet 2230 printer (usb to parallel cable connection) the job hangs in the print queue. I can run the troubleshooter and purge the spooler but then i'm back where i started. The next print command will result in the same error.

This appears to have also been a problem with windows vista (64-bit). Suggestions to remedy the problem are welcomed.

Cannot Connect To Home Network

I was on the internet on my pc earlier today and as i was typing in a url into the browser, all of a sudden, my internet connection was lost. When i tried to reconnect, it said "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. " I didn't change any settings and i've been using the internet with my home network for at least 4 months now with no prior problems. (We bought a new router and wireless adapter, both of which are trendnet and have never given us any problems before).

I tried uninstalling my wireless internet usb adapter and then installing it again and it still won't work. I've tried manually connecting to the network as well, but that won't work either. When i tried connecting to the network, it was also telling me that the password was incorrect, but when i checked on all the other computers/laptops in the house that are connected, they all had the same password entered and are all getting the internet. I really am stumped as to why the connection suddenly stopped working and why i can't get it to work again even after all i've tried.

Unable To Connect To Local Network

For a few days now, i have been attempting to resolve this problem where i cannot connect to the internet via ethernet cable. This computer does not have wireless internet. When i run the network diagnostic tool, i get the message:"the 'local area connection' adapter seems to be experiencing driver or hardware related problems. "To attempt to fix this, i downloaded the most up to date network drivers for the adapter, i have an asus m2n-sli deluxe motherboard, aka nvida 570 sli amd.

This did not solve the problem. With further reading, i have tried several things, disabling then re-enabling the adapters, shut down the computer, unplug the ethernet cable, and plug it back in once it starts up, and disable internet securities. Interestingly, i have also noticed that i am unable to run my mcafee anti-virus scan. Has anyone experienced this issue and/or know a solution to fixing it?

Cannot Connect To Mshome Network, But Get Internet Access

Ok, i was trying to allow a network drive to be used offline on my wireless hp laptop running win7. I have had connectivity to the internet, printers, drives and other pcs for over 4 months. All of a sudden, i cannot connect to the mshome network. I still get internet access, but i can not connect to my drives, my printers or my other pcs. I shut off the firewall and disabled the virus protection. It lists the devices in the map, but it will not connect.

Is there anyway to force a connection to my local home network :mshome: via win7? At least in xp you can set up a home network connection. All win7 seems to have is the home group.

Wireless Network Automatic Connect But Does Not Stick

Windows 7 home premium (x86) user is running as administrator. Mcafee a/v corporate is installed.
In wireless properties, connection tab, the top box is checked (connect automatically when this network is in range) and the box to "connect even if this network is not broadcasting its name (ssi)" also is checked. I have checked these boxes manually and also had the network "troubleshooter" fix the problem of not automatically connecting. As soon as the top box is checked and ok is clicked, the connection to the wireless network is made. However, on the next reboot, both boxes are unchecked and the user must connect to the network manually. What is unchecking the boxes and how can i stop this from happening?

User Cannot Connect To Wireless Network But Admin Can

I'm running windows 7 home premium. When i logon as an administrator, every-thing's fine - connects to wireless network, internet, all's well. But when i logon as a regular user, it is unable to connect to the wireless network. (When i run the networking troubleshooter - again, as regular user - it complains that no ethernet cable is attached. Seems way off base for a wireless issue. ) Do you know how to fix this problem (other than making the user an administrator, which i don't want to do)?

Home Network Problem - Xp Laptop Wont Connect To Win7 Desktop

1)  my former xp (desktop) to xp (netbook) home network worked perfectly! I could print from either computer to a shared printer, i could use the dvd and cd drives located on my desktop with my netbook, etc.

2)  i just upgraded my desktop to win7, and while i love win7, the home network is gone. I can "see" my netbook on my desktop network, but can't access it. I can't even "see" my desktop (nor printer, etc) from my netbook.

3) i can get on the internet with my netbook through a wired or wireless router connected to my desktop. And, yes, i've tried all the wizards for home network setups, to no avail. Any ideas out there?
