Low Memory When Using Media Player

I have a new laptop: compaq cq60-615dx notebook- 2gig ram- 250 harddrive- intel celeron. I have a pop-up message that says, "low memory close all other applications and try again" when trying to play a dvd. When this happens i wasn't using any other applications my anti virus wasn't running, nothing was updating. I don't see a reason for low memory.

Taskmanger: cpu usage jumps from 1% to 85%
Phycial memory: 750mb to 900mb (i checked this when nothing was running)

I have only added 3 software programs which were not running. I have searched this forum and apparently others have had a hard time with low memory using widows 7. I'm willing to buy more ram but i would like to know first if that will resolve this problem. One post a gentlemen stated he had no other software added and had 8gig memory and had low memory (high cpu usage)trouble.

Error - Your Computer Is Running Low On Memory

In windows media 7 getting error "your computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs and try again. Not running other programs. No help from microsoft. My error doesn't say anything about virtual memory. When i looked at increasing memory in first and second field there wasn't anything in there to increase. I don't think virtual memory is my problem. Error just says computer is running low on memory in windows media 7.

Media Player 12 Memory Usage

I installed windows 7 professional 64 bit from a 32 bit vista home prem system and have encountered memory usage problems. Basically, the longer i have windows media player open, the more ram it uses, in other words it keeps increasing until i close it. I reinstalled win7 and found that the problem went away, however, once i updated windows 7 the problem came back. Before i updated, the usage was low, in the 20, 000k range and when i updated it turns on at 30, 000k and increases dramatically. Should i install 32 bit windows 7 or does anybody have a solution?

My system is a dell xps 420 q6600 2. 4 ghz, 4 gb dual channel ddr2 ram

Low Memory With 12 Gigs Onboard

I sometimes get a "memory low, close unused programs, etc. " I have 12 gigabytes of memory installed. For the few programs i have open, and with the analysis of what those programs are actually using, about 1. 55 gb, i should not be getting a low memory alert. Usually happens when i start a movie with media player.

Physical memory performance readings in mb are:
Total 12278 mb
Cached 5936 mb
Available 10669 mb
Free 4805 mb

So, why the low memory alert, where did the unused memory go to keep it from being used by windows 7. Boot up shows all memory and checks good, asus p7 motherboard, intel quad i920 processor.

Low Bit Rate Media Center

Windows 7 keeps giving low bit rate issues about 5 seconds after i start playing tv on it. Sometimes it doesn't even pop up and just has a black screen. The tv tuner i'm using is the hvr-850, which microsoft has on its certification page as compatible with windows 7. It isn't a particular tuner problem though, many people are having the same issue where it is making media center unusable, and most definitely is a windows 7 problem. Does anyone know a solution or is this being addressed? I at least need to know it is being addressed because we need this fixed, and those at microsoft need to know we are having this problem.

Media Player Cd Burn Error

It starts burning and then stops when it gets to 99%. This error message pops up on the screen: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I'm using a laptop with windows 7 that already has a burner inside. Also, when i play the cd in a cd player it seems to work fine. So i'm wondering whyit's displaying that message.

Burning Error In Media Player

I am using windows media player to burn a few cd's and i keep getting the same error message. The error message i get is:windows media player encountered an error while burning. Verify the burner is connected properly and that the disc is clean and not damaged. I use to not have any problems burning cds and now all of a sudden i do. Wmp acts like it is burning the cd and goes through the status completed, but as soon as it gets to 99% complete, the cd kicks out and i get the above error message.

Also, when it 'acts' like it is burning the cd, it goes through the process a lot faster than when it really is burning a cd. I am also using brand new cds, that are not scratched or damaged. I am usinga laptop, so as far as i know, the burner is connected properly. I'm not sure what to do or how to resolve my issue.

Error C00d1199 - Media Player

When attempting to play almost any media file either audio or video, using almost any codec, including those that were previously played without a fault i now always get this error message claiming that the file is not supported or the codec is not known. I can now no longer play any of my music or video files using media player. I am running the 64bit version of windows 7 home premium. I have tried to remove and re-add the media player but the fault remains. In desperation i have tried to replace the codecs for all files but without success. I would like to delete and completely re-install media player but would prefer not to have to re-install windows completely, if no other solution can be found.
