Win 7 Does Not Recognize Belkin Usb Adapter

I performed a registry cleanup on my computer last monday using norton 360 with mixed results. The major problem i'm having is that i can't seem to connect to my belkin wireless usb adapter anymore.
I did a system restore, and an uninstall/re-install of the latest belkin driver software. The adapter does manage to connect on occasion, but returns to its inoperable state if i put the computer to sleep or try to do a reboot.

If i try a clean install, w7 typically tries to connect to the adapter but then it either says that the device isn't recognized or says there is no device at all. When i run a diagnostic, w7 recognizes the problem but it figures that i'm trying to connect through my ethernet cable and not via usb. I can't seem to make it point to the usb connection. Am i missing anything? Is there a manual fix?

Belkin Usb Wireless Adapter With 64-bit

I have recently bought a belkin wireless g usb adapter (f5d7050) and am unable to connect to any connections on my desktop.

I am using the adapter on my desktop, which is running windows 7 professional 64bit. I have been searching online for solutions, and saw tons of compatibility problems with this device, yet i have gotten the drivers working (or so it seems) even though i can not connect to any networks.

I have tried using the drivers that the device came with in multiple compatibility modes, in addition to the newest drivers on belkin's website in multiple compatibility modes.

The driver seems to be working, my device is recognized, and i can click on it and see all the wireless networks within range. My problem is that it will not connect to any of these networks, whether it is an open network, or a wpa2 network. I know my router works, since i am using the internet on my laptop. I also have checked the router for any funky settings that would cause my problems. There is no mac filtering, or anything else that would cause the device to not connect.

I am wondering what i need to do in order to connect to the networks. It doesn't even seem like windows 7 is trying when i type in the password, or select an open network. I instantly get the "can't connect to "

Considering belkin has been no help, i have come here as my last resort. I really need internet on my desktop. Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem.

Belkin F5d8053 N Usb Wireless Adapter Cannot Connect

It would seem that plenty of people on the forums have had similar problems to mine but no real solutions are forthcoming, so i thought i may as well put my problem up in case the specifics make it easily solvable. Bear with me cos i've tried a lot of things and i don't want to leave anything out incase it's useful. Ok, i got a new laptop recently and wanted to transfer my music collection from my desktop to the laptop.

At this time both machines were connecting to the network properly, i was using a belkin usb g wireless adapter and windows 7 ultimate x64 in the desktop, and the inbuilt wireless with windows 7 home premium x64 on the laptop. I tried to do this through homegroups and for some reason the laptop couldn't join or even see the homegroup, so i ended up connecting the hard drive from the laptop directly to the desktop via sata cable. When i put the hard drives back the way they were originally after the transfer was complete, the wireless on my desktop had stopped working.

In the adapter settings panel, the wireless connection was set to disabled and whenever i tried to enable it, a box came up saying "enabling" followed by "enabled" but the main icon in the panel would still say disabled and the network wizard would say "not connected". To eliminate hardware malfunction as a cause, i tried disabling the integrated wireless on the laptop and using the usb adapter from the desktop to connect to the internet. This worked better than it ever had in the desktop. I tried updating the drivers in various compatibility modes and removing every trace of belkin software from the computer to start again, but to no avail. In the end i bought a new usb adapter, the 802. 11n adapter in the subject line (i needed an upgrade anyway as the router is two floors below the computer).

This worked better in the desktop, allowing the wireless connection to enable, but still not seeing any wireless networks in the area (of which there are around 6). After much uninstalling, reinstalling, updating, rolling back, shouting and pleading, the adapter finally started picking up the wireless networks for the area, including mine. Unfortunately that is all it would do - it refused to connect. All the while, the laptop has been able to make a strong connection with the router. I have tried going into the routers firmware from the desktop but inexplicably while the networking wizard can see the wireless network, the computer cannot get through to the router.

A wired connection works, however having the router and computer in the same room permanently is impossible due to the position of the cable entry point in my house. Removing the router security does not work. Resetting the router and rebuilding the network connection does not work. Threats do not work. I was hoping that somebody would have a suggestion as to why this is happening and what can be done.

Belkin Wireless F7d4101 Adapter Driver Issue

I bought the belkin play wireless adapter, originally for an xp machine and installed on there fine, i then upgraded my cpu to windows 7 and reformatted my hard drive, since then i cannot get it to install properly. I called belkin and they did basic troubleshooting and had me install it on another windows 7 machine which i did and it installed fine. They told me its not their adapter causing the issue. Both windows 7 are the 64 bit version. Im using an asus iii maximus gene mobo. Any help would be appreciated.

Cannot Install Belkin Usb Wifi Drivers

I have recently purchased a belkin surf+ b300 f7d2101ed and i'm not able to install it on my windows 7 (32bit) pro system. I've only just installed windows 7 so its a fresh installation.
I install the software included and i keep getting a pop up balloon saying that the driver has not installed properly.

I have tried going into the device manager and the device is listed under network controllers, but not but not as the device name but "connect usb wireless" (or something along those lines).
I have then tried to manually update the driver and specifying the cd drive to look for driver. It sees the driver, attempts to install it and then i get a screen saying that the driver did not install properly as it could not find the file specified.

I have also tried downloading the latest install program from the belkin website, but still cannot get the device to work. Does anyone know how i install this device?

Belkin Usb Network Hub Fl5009 Problem

I am having issues getting my fl5009 connected on my computer. Everything starts up, i can go to network and sharing and see that it is connected to the network, and i can even go to the hubs homepage and alter settings.

I cannot get the hub's control center to recognize anything is on the network, not even the hub. I have a hard drive connected to it and cannot even see the hard drive in network and sharing center.

I contacted belkin, they told me that there was no compatible driver, but the latest driver should work in compatibility mode with vista. I tried that, i even set the control center in compatibility mode with vista. I even tried xp for both of them. I cannot get it to work.

Belkin F5d8053 V3 Wireless Usb Nic Installing Driver Problem

I just installed windows 7 64bit on my computer. I obtained drivers for the 64 bit version for all my hardware before i did the installation. The driver  belkin provided won't install properly. I opened the nic and it has what appears to be a ralink ra2770f chip in it. I poked around on the internet a bit and tried the driver from the ralink web site which was suggested. No luck. I went to best buy to see what wireless usb nic's they had which would be supported under win 7_64; they didn't have any. I am running all the latest software/bios from intel for my board. Same for my other hardware.

What can i do to get my belkin wireless adapter to work?  Everything else works just fine.

Intel dg33fb, intel core 2 duo e6440 @2. 13 gh, msi geforce 220 gt, ht omega claro halo, 8gb mem

If you get confused, listen to the music play.

Win7 Will Not Recognize Any Of Usb Devices

Win 7 Does Not Recognize Usb Drive & Ipod

This has been really bothering me. Windows 7 works perfectly with my old programs after my upgrade. Only when i plug in my usb external drive and ipod touch, ipod video. It does not recognize it. I tried device manager and looking for it there, it does not show up. When i go on safe mode, "usb mass storage" shows up but i cannot update cuz it keeps saying it already has the best driver installed. When i look at "properties" it says there is no driver installed.

With my ipods, i tried stopping and restarting ipod service, apple mobile device, itunes. I tried reinstalling a newly downloaded copy of itunes at least 4 times. That does not work.

There is a registry fix for this on windows xp titled "windows xp cannot detect a usb flash drive, an apple ipod, or an external hard disk drive" but does not have one for windows 7. The xp fix even has a download fix for fixing the registry. Is there one also for windows 7. I am going through the trouble of installing virtual pc and xp mode just to use my devices.

Computer Cannot Recognize Usb Storage Devices

I am using a brand new hp with windows 7. The first time i plug any thumb drive or my external hard drive into any usb port my computer immediately recognizes it by name and i able to use files on it and save to it normally. When i safely remove it and come back the second time and plug it into my computer nothing happens. I go to my computer and see it is shown as "unknown device". When i use the "trouble shoot hardware devices" tells me it is not recognized and i get this message:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I have tried turning the computer off and rebooting but i still get the same message. I have used the update driver and get the message that the proper driver is installed. I have gone to the "windows 7 compatability center" and my simpletech 160 gb external hard drive is listed as compatible. Please tell me what i can do to make my computer recognize and allow me to use these devices. Without being able to use them so that i can do work at home and take it back and forth to school, i really have no need for the computer in the first place !

I am able to use all my external usb storage devices on xp at school as well as on an old laptop at home with no problem. The only problem i have is windows 7 apparently. Since i have tried three different usb plug n' play devices with the same result (each of which was recognized only the first time i plugged them in) it obviously is not the fault of the storage devices.

Is anyone out there?

Win 7 Recognize Usb Gps As A Serial Mouse

Windows 7 + usb gps becomes serial mouse = bad news*i know this has been asked quite a few times on here, and a solution has yet to appear, but since it has been awhile since the last time it was posted i thought i would see if any progress has been made. Problem: plugging in a usb gps, or a serial gps connected via a serial->usb adapter causes windows 7 to improperly recognize the device as a serial mouse, and since the data stream is rapid, the mouse pointer begins to jump all over the screen.

In xp, disconnecting the gps temporarily left behind the serial mouse in device manager, and disabling it there would then allow the system to be used again. Unfortunately, in win 7 when the gps is unplugged the system immediately removes the device from device manager. Additionally, the tools microsoft had released to combat this problem on the front end have not been released for windows 7. So we have the choice, continue to hold the laptop rollout, or revert to rolling them out with xp. Neither option is ideal. Anyone have any ideas?

Usb / Firewire Combo Card Does Not Recognize External Hd

I recently installed a new usb/firewire combo pci card on a i7-920 win7 professional based computer. The usb part works fine but the firewire does not recognize external hds. However external hds were connected to the firewire port on the motherboard, it worked fine. Changed firewire driver to legacy driver that came with win7 pro did not solve the problem. Moving the card to a different pci slot does not solve the problem.

Now under the device manager, the driver is "working properly" but the card just won't recognize the external devices. Is this a driver problem (i.e. Need a newer or win7 pro specific driver)?  If it is, where to get it?  Have searched internet and numerous websites (including card manufactuer) but cannot find an answer. Is this card defective?

Usb Adapter Not Being Detected

Okay, here's what i'm having a problem with. I purchased a mayflash n64 duel port adapter, which is supposed to be "plug and play". It says compatible with windows 98, me, xp, and vista. But my pc isn't even acknowledging that i've plugged something in! Is there something i'm missing here, or am i just out of luck because i bought into windows 7?(I've never had trouble using older programs/devices before. And i was really excited about using the n64 controller with the n64 games. )I searched for drivers, but since it's "plug and play" i couldn't find any.

Problems With Usb Wireless Adapter

Having problems with usb wireless adapter. Seems to go to sleep regularly and not wake up. When running xp, this would happen occasionally. All i would do to fix it was unplug and plug the usb adapter and it would start back up fine.

With windows 7, it happens regularly and when i unplug and plug it will not restart. Only thing that works is to restart? Is there a way to restart the wireless adapter without restarting. Or better, keep it from dying or restart automatically.

Updates Disable Usb Network Adapter

I recently installed windows 7 pro x64, at first everything worked fine however after running windows update my network adapter stopped functioning.network connections in the control panel no longer lists my adapter but the device manager tells me that everything is working properly. The icon by the clock detects neither any wi-fi networks or even the adapter. I have tried this with two different ones a rosewill and a zonet with the same results. Does anyone know if this is a specific update problem or is it a device driver problem?

Same results.system hardware does see the usb adabpter. Click on it, and it says to install the driver. Windows does not find the driver, even when directed to the folder.

Asus Usb-n13 Network Adapter Problem

I'm running windows 7 32bit with a msi ms-7698 motherboard. I'm trying to install the drivers for an asus usb-n13 network adapter. I have no cd drive so i've downloaded the drivers from the asus site. When i run the setup file for the driver it says it can only be ran on windows 7 (which is what i'm using). I've also tried using device manager to manually select the driver and install but that doesn't work either. I've also installed the "asus wlan control center" thinking there would be an option to install drivers through that. But when i try to run it it says that it will run once the network adapter is plugged in, which it is. Under "devices and printers" it shows my adapter as "unspecified" so my pc is recognizing that it is plugged in.

Linksys Wireless-g Usb Network Adapter Update Fails

I recently installed windows 7 on my pc that was previously running xp. Ever since installation i've had issues with my wireless adapter. Whenever my pc is shutdown, restarted, or left to sleep for extended periods the network monitor in the tray displays that there are no connections available (as if the system doesn't recognize the adapter).

I have been uninstalling/reinstalling the driver from the disk every time this happens. Also, the update mentioned in the title fails to install. Would this update fix my problem and how do i fix it?

Error - Unknown Device - Usb Does Not Recognize Garmin Device

Just recently, windows 7 home premium addition has stopped detecting my garmin device. Other usb devices such as my ipod work fine. I was able to get it to detect the garmin only a few times, it would try to install the drivers but the drivers would fail to install. The garmin was working a few weeks ago. Below is a list of everything i have already tried:

Rebooting (after everything i try)
- Turning the computer off and leaving it unplugged overnight
- Completely uninstalling all drivers and software associated with the gamin.
- Manually installing drivers
- Uninstalling the unknown device and doing a search for new hardware
- Uninstalling the unknown device and doing a search for legacy hardware (this produces a device not functioning (code 10) error)
- Reverting back to a restore point before the last windows update

Please, any help would be very appreciated. I am decently computer savvy and have always been able to fix any problems that i have. This one has had me spinning my wheels for days.

Ide Hard Drive Connected Via Usb To Ide/sata Adapter

I have an old maxtor 9 1303d6 ide drive which is connected via a usb to ide/sata adapter and an active usb hub. The device worked fine under vista 32 ultimate. After doing a clean install of windows 7 ultimate and subsequent updates, the device is no longer seen in windows explorer. Device manager does see the hard drive, but the usb controller section of devman now shows an unknown device.

(I suspect that this is the usb to ide/sata adapter) the device is accessible using a hard disk recovery utility which can read the maxtor drive. I've tried to unininstall/reinstall and have moved the adapter from port to another on the hub. The device returns a code 43 error and i've tried the suggested kb updates with no luck.
