Webcam Nx Pro With Win 7 64-bit

I know that creative won't make available drivers for its webcamnx pro (for windows 7 32/64). My question is: doesn't exist some driver, of another device, that can be used for that webcam to work under windows 7 64 bits? The webcam nx pro, from creative labs, is a very popular wecam, and a very good device too. Windows 7 is an amazing os, so. It would be great if they could work together. What can be do? Find a compatible driver? Write an independent driver? To press creative labs to create the drivers?

Visual Studio 2005 Pro Compatibility With Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Can i use visual studio 2005 pro on windows 7 pro 64 bit? I use visual studio 2005 pro on xp pro 32 bit. Can i use it on windows 7 pro 64 bit?I have looked on the vs site and could not find a definitive answer to using this version on my new os. I know, they're putting visual studio 2010 et al. I do not have the kind of cash they're trying to get from me. T least, if i can use it, i can do some self made/self-used projects. I will download the free development systems. But, they run out after 60-90 days. I still need to get ms office standard 2007/10.

Win 7 Pro 64-bit Printing Is Not Available

I have seen numerous topics on her about windows 7 64-bit printing issues. Here is my case and i have not seen another like it. 1st - please be aware that this is in a corporate environment, 2nd - i have domain administrator rights across the entire domain. We have numerous printers in our domain and i generally use 5 of them. The printers that i am connecting to are attached to a windows server 2003 32-bit box and all printers have the x64 drivers enabled from the mfg on the server. I am running windows 7 pro 64-bit and am attached to the network via cable. I can browse for the printer and have it successfully add, and print a test page from windows. But when i am using applications like ie8, office, adobe reader, etc. I cant print. The specific error that i am getting is "printing is not available. There are no printers installed. You can select and configure a printer in windows control panel. "

I can tell you that i cant print to anything that is listed in my devices and printers, including the xps document writer from microsoft. This only occured once i installed office 2010 beta, and dropped back to office 2007 std. I have removed the printers and removed all drivers from c:windowssystem32spoolx643 and re-added the printers with the up to date drivers without luck. Anyone have an idea on this one?

Microsoft Office Pro What Version 64-bit?

I am upgrading to window 7. I just got my computer back from hp repair. Due to the repairs all of the software applications had been removed. The computer came with vista and a free upgrade from hp. I just upgraded to windows 7. Now i need to download my application software and i am starting with my microsoft office professional. I tried to go on the compatibility checker to make sure that the microsoft professional 2007 is compatible.

In checking, the microsoft website says that office professional version 12 is compatible with my 64 bit system. Where do i find my version? I have the original packaging from the store but cannot seem to find the version. How can i make sure it is compatible with a 64 bit system?

Win 7 Pro 64-bit - Random Freeze

I used windows 7 rc 32 bit before this, it worked like a charm. Now, i installed windows 7 pro 64 bit, it works for a couple of weeks smoothly.

Today, i did a few things:

1) installed thunderbird
2) installed a huawei e160g wireless broadband modem
3) changed my dns to 8. 8. 8. 8 and 8. 8. 4. 4
It froze a few times already, and this is what i recall:
1) firefox was open in all cases
2) the modem was being used in all cases
3) thunderbird was uninstalled, still happening.
However, it cant be firefox, i have been using it for weeks.

I just tried uninstalling the modem, smooth so far, but i cant be sure yet. I want to ask: has anyone else had problems with modems or their drivers/programs?

Cannot Install Xp Mode On Win 7 Pro 64-bit

I am running a legitimate, activated copy of windows 7 pro 64 bit with the latest windows updates applied on a fairly new system. I am needing to install xp mode http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx however i can't get past the activation problem. I select professional 64 bit, english and click on the first button to download xp mode. It requires me to download and run the windows validation components first, but after downloading and running these the message is that they are already installed. They don't get as far a running. How do i actually get the system validated? There's no error other than "windows activation is already installed" and then the installation stops.

Cd/dvd Driver Issues - Win7 64-bit Pro Install

Cd/dvd driver issues in the beginning of windows 7 64-bit pro install. Installer will not let me move on until i find a driver for my dvd drive. The only drivers i can get to show up on the list are 64-bit drivers.

I'm upgrading from 32-bit so it won't let me use my vista cdrom drivers.
I have a sony optiarc rw ad-7170s firmware 1. 03 dvd drive
I created the bootable iso myself because of the issue with the digitalriver install
I burned the iso on 2 discs at 2 differnt speeds, didn't fix it.
Dvd is plugged into a sataraid pci card.

I'm almost sure it'll let me through if i can get my hands on the basic 64-bit cdrom drivers. I can't even find them online though.

Duplicate Program File Folders On Win 7 Pro 64-bit

I clean installed win7 pro 64 bit os from win7 pro 32 bit on my laptop and duplicate program files folders (with and without x86 designation) have been created. The duplicated files are windows programs, internet explorer, windows defender, windows mail, windows media player, windows nt, windows photo viewer, windows portable devices and windows sidebar. Does this mean that these duplicate windows apps are needed for 32 bit and 64 bit software to be able to work with that type of software respectively? Do i really need a 32 bit and 64 bit versions of internet explorer, windows defender, mail, media player, nt, photo viewer, portable devices and sidebar?

It would have been nicer just to have one set of these windows applications that works with both 32 bit and 64 bit software. These windows applications use a lot of hdd real estate. It would also be good to be able to have the option of uninstalling one of the duplicate sets. Is the ability to do just that available now?

Dual Boot With Win 7 Pro And Xp Pro

I would like to set up a dual boot on my computer. I currently have 2 internal hard drives installed. I would like to have the current c: drive continue to run xp and the second hard drive (d:) run win 7.

Questions:

1. Do i need to buy a full version of win 7 pro or can i buy the upgrade?
2. Is this the best way to run the dual boot on the 2 hard drives? I realize that win 7 pro does have an xp mode, but i would rather keep my current xp running as is.
3. Can you advise the best way for me to install win 7 for this.

Mouse And Webcam Code 19

Since upgrading from windows vista to windows 7 i have problems with the built-in webcam on my laptop. I get the error message "windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". I have tried to upgrade the driver, but my driver is the latest available. When i try to use the camera, i am requested to "turn the camera on". It always worked before i upgraded to windows 7.

Also, my mouse is now not working properly. The click speed is wrong and the drag function does not work properly. I have adjusted the click speed, but still have problems.

Built In Webcam Not Working

I have an hp pavilion dv6565us. It came with vista home premium 32-bit, but i upgraded to windows 7 home premium 32-bit. And it's been working fine. But recently my built-in webcam stopped working. It's worked fine before with windows 7 and with the latest update, but after no changes to the os or anything it stopped working. Any program i use either doesn't acknowledge the webcam's presence or shows it as an option for an input device but doesn't work. I have done every solution i've found when searching similar problems, and none have worked.

I've done little things as to update and reinstall drivers, i've gone to my device manager and uninstalled and re-installed all the usb root hubs. I even updated the bios for my system. The only time it's shown up is when i go to devices and printers in the start menu. The weird thing is, it's shown up, disappeared from there, and shown up again. When it does show up, i go to properties and it says the device is functioning properly, which it's not. In the area where it says model number, it says unavailable. In the details section there is a whole list of properties.

Webcam And Wifi Not Working

I just bought my msi laptop about two months ago. I'm not techie and i'm not good in troubleshooting. My webcam was working fine not until it shows that the device cannot be found. I tried uninstalling/installing the drivers but it will not work. As i tried installing it, it will no longer show in the installed products/programs in the program and features.

My problem with my wifi started when i first started using a broadband stick. I tried searching for a connection but it will only show the broadband stick even if it was not inserted.

I have an hp dv9700 cto laptop that i have cold installed windows 7 64bit ultimate on. I also installed the nvidia graphic drivers and all works well except that i can't use the built in webcam. There does not appear to be any special vista webcam drivers at the hp site (hp does not support windows 7 on this laptop).

For instance windows live movie maker cannot see the camera even though device manager shows it with no problems. Anyone know of a possible solution?

Acer Aspire One Webcam Not Working

I have an acer aspire one 10" model w/ built in webcam. I purchased in july 2009, model came installed with xp. I recently upgraded to windows 7. Acer will not support me because i have upgraded and they insisted i purchase tech service for assistance. Ridic! The device manager displays webcam and states it is working properly. It also states driver updated. I have uninstalled it restarted and reinstalled, but it still is not working.

I use to be able to click it open, now  when i click pic it just displays the information but no where on my computer am i able to actually open the device for picture purposes, quite frustrating in finding answer on web, seems to be a lot of people giving answers or links to driver scan sites.

Trouble With Live Webcam On Internet

I just bought a new computer and it has windows 7. I like to watch the eagle cam on wvec.com, on my old computer (windows xp) i did not have any problem at all, on this computer all i get is a white screen with a red x. I am sure it probably has something to do with the settings in windows media player but i do not understand the site directions for troubleshooting the cam. Has anybody else experienced this problem, if so, how did you correct it.

Hp Dv6000 Webcam Compatibility Issue

Hp dv6000 webcam issues compatibility issues should not exist. Epic fail. I had massive issues with vista. My idiot it person who doesn't get that i don't need a million fancy functions installed it on my computer and i got the blue screen of death (configuration) a million times. So i had to upgrade it to a "problem free" version of microsoft 7, and because of that microsoft 7 should've been free. I've already wasted weeks on this problem. I have other things to do! But now here's another problem.

I can't get the webcam on my hard-drive to work because of these stupid "compatibility issues". It's installed, i don't know what the problem is. Is there a language barrier in the tech sector? Do y'all hate your customers?  Money and time spent andi simply cannot use what i paid for! Everytime i open vimicrocam - it opens up the desktop in new windows infinitely until i click to close the program. Excuse me? Why can't i just simply use a function that was installed on my laptop?

Live Messenger Webcam Problem

When i start a video chat with others they can not see my webcam. I see my webcam and their's, but they get a camera with a red x through it for my camera. If instead of starting a video chat i select "show my webcam" they see my webcam just fine so i know the webcam is working. Here are the things i have tried: verified under tools/options "allow others to see i have a webcam" is checked.

Went in to audio/video setup and tried selecting a different webcam (i have a build in webcam and a usb webcam). I had done everything with just the internal but since i could not get it working tried plugging in the usb webcam but got the same results.

Tried connecting to multiple people and they get the same result (can't see my webcam). I'm running windows 7 home premium, dell inspiron laptop. Haven't installed any special firewall software. Running wlm version 2009 build 14. 0. 8089. 726. I've looked at all the help posts on the internet but seems like most people have a different problem than i do and couldn't find any help.

Audio On Webcam No Longer Works

I am pretty sure that since i ended up with 64 bit system type, that is when my audio stopped working on webcam. I know when i upgraded to windows 7 the webcam disappeared, was so happy when i got it back thanks to this site, i didn't even notice the sound was gone. Anyway, have to use google to use alot of things i need. I just want to change back to 32 bit, anyone else have an idea what could be wrong or how to go back, i would appreciate it very much. I would go back to vista if i didn't have to go through so many changes again. So far i don't see where windows 7 is anything but a pain in the butt.

Usb Webcam Take 10 Minutes To Start

I have a 2 year old compal jfl92 laptop which i initially bought with windows vista and i recently upgraded it to windows 7. Everything works fine, except that the built-in webcam is not immediately available after turning the machine on or waking it from sleep - it takes somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to show up. Prior to this, it is not visible in the "devices and printers" and the "usb composite device" which it calls itself in device manager is also missing. Once it does show up, it works without any problems.

I have tried uninstalling all usb controllers and rebooting to make windows reinstall the drivers for everything. If i do that, the webcam is there immediately, but on the next boot it again takes 10 minutes to show up. I have also tried installing the latest usb drivers from intel, but that didn't help either. The laptop has various other usb devices, both internal (e.g. Bluetooth) and external (a mouse) and none of them exhibits this behavior. Has anyone ever seen something like this before or know how to make it load with everything else rather than in 10 minutes?

Win 7 64-bit Doesn't Distinguish Between Ie8 64-bit And Ie8 32-bit

Windows 7 64bit doesn't distinguish between ie8 64 bit and ie8 32 bit when attempting to set a default browser using the control panel default programs 'associate' utility. My new windows 7 64 bit pc (luv that i7 920 intel cpu) came installed with both ie8-64 bit and ie8-32 bit (nothing more need be said regarding the absurdity of having to deal with this in the first place - i should have gone with the imac).

Anyway, ie64 bit lacks the flash player cuz adobe hasn't released a 64 bit version yet, per their website. So i can't use ie64 with xm online music stream (et al). Ie32, on the other hand, supports flash player, but won't successfully link to various embedded hypertext links, such as those embedded in an email. My initial solution was to use firefox, which served me well until an application from a local vendor will only work with internet explorer. Sigh.

I've used windows since version 2 back in the 1980s, have become stoic, and can emotionally cope with having to use 3 browsers to get the job done.

However, just for fun, my current burning question is, with two different versions of ie8 (64 bit and 32 bit) installed into windows 7, why doesn't the control panel default applications utility seem to aware of the fact that there are indeed two different versions installed? It lists firefox and internet explorer, but does not differentiate between the two flavors of ie. My goal was to set ie8 64 bit as the default browser temporarily to accommodate the vendor's application.

Fyi, by setting the default, i refer to: control panel | default programs | associate a file type or protocol with a program. Then scroll down to 'http' and click on the change program button. So in my case, firefox and only one instance of internet explorer, with no bit distinction, display as selection options.
