Nvidia Geforce Gt 325m Graphics Card Problem

I have the asus-n61jv notebook with nvidia geforce gt 325m grpahics card on windows 7 32 bit. I downloaded the version 197. 16 driver from nvidia. By default my notebook detects the driver as standard vga graphics adapter. The chip type is detected as "intel(r)ironlake mobile graphics chipset". Now when i follow the manual driver installation the message i am receiving is "installing this device is not recommended because windows cannot verify that iy is compatible with your hardware. "

I have ignored the message and the nvidia geforce gt 325m is installed.

But when i go to

Control panel-> display-> change display settings and then click on the advanced settings link a window opened with the title "(default monitor) and properties". There is an adapter tab in there which i assume should list the details of the graphics card.

Here it is showing nothing i.e

Chip type: "unavailable"

Total available graphics memory: "unavailable" etc. One interesting point is even though the driver installation was successful when i shut down the computer and start it again it showed the message that "standard vga graphics adapter" is installed successfully and it replace the nvidia driver.

So i updated the driver files once again and the nvidia came back. On a test basis when i shut down the computer and start it again the "standard vga graphics adapter" took over once again. In device manager i can see two display adapters are listed:

1. Standard vga graphics adapter

2.nvidia geforce gt 325m

As fyi: i ran the wei but it reported an error and couldn't complete it. Any idea why is this happening?

Geforce Gt 240 Graphics Card Help

I recently had to build a new system with some components from my old dell which had a bad mother board. When i transfered the remaining components to the new motherboard/case, i was unable to boot my vista. I finally broke down and bought windows 7. It loaded fine and now the system seems to be running fine with one exception. When i load the drivers for my pny geforce gt 240 graphics card, i lose video when windows starts. As soon as the green scrolling bar disappears is when this happens.

I hear the windows sound so i know windows is loading properly, but no video! I ensure the onboard graphics card is disabled on the mother board. I have tried several installations of nvidia drivers but to no avail. This error occurs everytime i load the nvidia drivers. I roll them back in safe mode after the video doesn't work each time. I keep checking to make sure the onboard video remains disabled. Any suggestions?

My system:

Amd athlon 64 x2 3800+ cpu
Biostar ta 790 gxb a2+ mother board
4gb ram
Pny geforce gt 240 graphics card
750 watt power supply
Windows 7 64 bit

Geforce 9800 Gt Graphics Card Compatibility

I am wanting to upgrade from xp to windows 7. However windows upgrade advisor tells me that my current "graphics adaptor " will not support windows aero. I am trying to work out whether this is likely to be a graphics card issue or a monitor issue. I suspect the latter.

However, when i scrolled through the 112 pages that microsoft has published showing which graphics cards are compatible with windows 7, mine does not appear on the list. I suspect this is an oversight by microsoft but i'd like to be sure. My graphics card is a bfg ge force 9800gt, i gb , oc. The bfg part number is bfgr981024gtoce. I'd appreciate any advice on this graphic card's compatibility with windows 7.

Current rig:
Windows xp
Core duo e 8500
2 gb ram ddr2
160gb hard drive
Ge force 9800 gt 1 gb

Geforce 8700m Graphics Card Not Recognized

I've seen the question posed already but no answers thus far. Here's my problem: i just put windows 7 on my alienware m15x which has a geforce 8700 graphics card in it. Well, i noticed my windows score was a 1. 0 and it said so in the gaming area so i checked the card. It isn't being recognized. I go to the nvidia site, downloaded the driver for my card designed for windows 7, restart and it blue-screens on me.

I don't really know what else to do. Obviously the drivers aren't installed but they can't be if it continues to blue screen.

Geforce 8300 Gs Graphics Card Failed On Dell Inspiron 530

I have a dell inspirion 530 with windows 7 ultimate installed. Recently the original graphics card failed (128 mb geforce 8300gs). As mentioned in that post i did cobble together an old fan onto that old graphics card which worked for quite a while. I also purchased a 512 mb ddr3 geforce 8400gs as a replacement had that ready if needed. My cobbled card finally went south again so i shut down and carefully installed that card (the new nvidea 512 mb geforce 8400 gs).

The first "post install" start-up showed the normal "starting windows" logo: the floating balls coming together as the pulsing windows logo - all in the normal high resolution. Then it all switched into low resolution and finally opened windows "as if in safe mode", appearing to be using only the standard vga graphics adaptor.

I opened the installation cd that came with the graphics card and read the installation manual. I then clicked autorun and installed everything that came up. Opted for the "clean install" and though everything took quite a long time, the installation appeared to proceed normally. I was then asked to restart to complete the installation, agreed, windows shut down and began to restart.

Everything on that boot-up appeared normal at first, i saw the dell logo, heard the first post "beep", boot screen showed "starting windows in 5 seconds, counted down, screen went black for a second (also as usual), then it started with dell logo again. This endless loop is all that happens; f8 has no effect at all so i can't even boot into safe mode now.

Cannot Get Nvidia Graphics Card Working

I have a gateway pc, model e-4610d sb. I upgraded to w7 32 bit from w vista 32 bit. Everything was running beautifully before i upgraded (so why did i upgrade?. Christmas present. ). Anyway, i have lost my nvidia card and my ability to run aero. My wei has dropped nearly two whole points because i can only get my onboard graphics chip to work. I have tried every driver known on nvidia and gateway forums/websites. I have now clean installed w7, back to w vista, then back to w7.

I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers and the card itself. It is a nvidia geforce 7600 gs. I cannot find the manufacturer of the card because gateway will not support me any longer (they sold the division handling my computer configuration to mpc who went bankrupt). Everything else is working very well. Much better than vista, in fact. Except this.

Is there anyone on here who can help? Please ask if i have performed a task before telling me to do so. Most likely i have already tried it and i can just tell you what the results were. I am really looking for someone who has specific knowledge of this exact issue and how to get the card to show up in the device manager.

Nvidia Driver Update For Graphics Card

Today i had something weird happen to my windows 7 pro system. I went and updated my nvidia drivers to the new ones that came out today. I removed the old ones and installed new ones. When i went to restart after the start screen came up i got a message telling me that my windows 7 did not pass the genuine advantage. I had to download an activation fix from microsoft. I didn't have to re-enter my product key. Now this was only an update to my graphics card. What gives?. Why did this happen. Even ms security essentials gave me a warning until i applied the activation update.

Ineveruseda graphics card before, but since il be using windows 7 ultimate from now on, wanted to know whether an graphics card which works with the agp port and run aero in windows 7. It supports vista completely and i hope the same is with windows 7.

Because my system does not have a pci-e based slot i am willing to buy an agp one. I am keeping my fingers crossed whether it will work windows windows 7 or not. Is it compulsory that the graphics card support directx 11? Mine supports only till 10 i guess.

Nvidia Geforce Go 7400

I recently upgraded my sony vaio la1 desktop pc to windows 7 32bit from windows xp 32bit. Everything seemed to go to plan, except that my nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card is not being recognized. Windows is instead displaying a 'standard vga graphics adapter' that will not let my computer display in its native 16:9 resolution, instead forcing it to display a stretched 4:3
I fully expected my computer not to run aero following the upgrade, but for the drivers for my graphics card not to work at all is extremely annoying.

I have tried downloading the drivers direct from nvidia, but when i try to install them, the installer simply says that it cannot find the nvidia card and cancels. Sony is no use at all.
I am a designer, so to not be able to see things in the correct resolution is going to severely affect my work!

Nvidia Geforce 8800 Problem

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit will not let me overclock or even change fan speeds on my video card nor even allow any software including nvidia to show gpu and memory speed. Right now i'm hating windows 7 x64 simply put, other than simple online tasks, i like to benchmark video cards and play a few games, right now windows found and installed proper drivers for my 8800gts 512 video card but does not allow evga precision or even nvidia software to show it's core stats or allow them to be adjusted, nor can i use nvidia own software to change 3d settings ie anti-aliasing etc, just nothing works!

Even when i go to the control panel and look at hardware it shows only my monitor not my graphics card, it's like it doesn't exist yet when i click on properties tab for my monitor and under device function summary in the hardware tab it shows the location of my monitor as "on nvidia geforce 8800 gts 512 (microsoft corporation - wddm v1. 1) so what the gives? It's like the card works, but completely untouchable settings-wise and if i try to install drivers myself from nvidia, just gives me errors!

Drivers For Nvidia Geforce Go 6200

I have been attempting to upgrade a sony vaio laptop from xp to w7 using custom install. I am having problems with the geforce go 6200 driver in that w7 doesn't recognize it and wants to use the generic driver - does not go up to the full 1280x800 pixel resolution. After much searching i decided to try a vista custom install and had success with proper video identification and resolution. My question is what will happen if i try and do a w7 upgrade install on this laptop? Will the vista driver carry over to the w7 environment?

Nvidia Geforce 7500 Le Driver Issue

Have an hp pavilion desktop (few years old), with an nvidia chipset, geforce 7500 le version. I've had windows 7 ultimate installed for a few months, with no display problems. On 12/27 windows update presented me with an optional update to the driver (listed as microsoft corporation wddm).

Installed, then restarted. No problems for about 10 minutes, then the display went blank and the speakers made a loud buzzing. Restarted the pc, and the start-up screen has a pattern of lines, then a screen with zeroes where the lines were, then an error screen, and the pc reboots again, and i then have to start in safe mode.

Went to the nvidia site, and installed an update to series 7 cards listed as 09/27. Same problem. Now windows update is listing a recommended update to the driver. Tired it, but it appears to be the same nvidia septemeber driver, so the problem persists.

Tried restoring to prior to the update. Didn't fix it. Then tried restoring to a previous restore point. On start-up, even worse, as safe mode resulted in a blank screen with the mouse pointer on it. I have to change the driver to a standard vga graphics adapter for me to be able to boot the pc up. Any ideas ? Is the graphics card now useless, or can i correct this ?

Error Code 43 - Nvidia Geforce 9800 Gt

Code 43 error + red squiggly horizontal lines on my screen. Red vertical lines on "starting windows" screen i installed a new hard drive on my computer several months ago and have had no problems with it. I also installed windows 7 at the same time. Again, no problems until today. When i booted up my computer, there were numerous bold vertical red lines on the "starting windows" screen. Then, when my desktop appeared, there were fine wavy/squiggly horizontal red lines all across the screen. Plus, the font and icon size were really large all of a sudden.

I was able to change the font size and icon size back to normal. Nothing seems different about how my computer performs, but the desktop has these weird squiggly red lines, and some of the pictures when i browse the web have the same lines. What is causing these red lines all of a sudden? I did notice that i get an "code 43" error message (windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. ) Concerning my nvidia geforce 9800gt when i looked it up in device manager. So i tried to download the most current driver from nvidia (for win 7 64-bit).

It didn't help and my computer still will not recognize/use this device. I tried re-booting numerous times. What does one do in this situation? The only thing i did differently today than any other day is watch a short video online from a secure website. That's it!

Nvidia Geforce 8600 Gs Lockup / Crashes

I have a problem with my graphic card with is as far as i know a common problem to the nvidia 800 series and again as far as i know the problem is caused by a building mistake when constructing the graphic card but i might be wrong.

My problem ac cures like this i'm playing a very light game world of warcraft (patched). When after 1 minute - 6 hours. My graphic card lockups/crashes, meaning that the hole screen stop's reacting and gives strange squared colors. Where the sound that i was listening to keeps repeating. If i wait while the crash/lockup is going on it will give strange different colored strings on my screen after a reboot. It's impossible to actually stop the crash ive tried multiply thing measuring temperatures measuring how much electricity it gets ive even tried lowering down the graphic details in wow(world of warcraft)

Neither of the things helped, it seemed after moving from windows vista home basic 32bit to windows 7 ultimate 64bit that the crashes had stopped  but after close to 1 month the crashed keep coming back and it got worse.

I'm what i would refer to a "advanced user". And believe me ive tried everything to fix the problem.
Ive even sent my computer to repair but they couldn't fix it they claimed my graphic card had a building mistake correct me if i'm wrong but these problems accrue for many nvidia 8600 users?

Heres some details that you guys might find helpful to solve this problem.

I have a stationary computer
With windows7 ultimate 64bit
I have 2 500gb hard drives.
And 2 gb of ram.
And i have a nvidia geforce 8600 gs

Nvidia Geforce Go 6150 Display Driver Problem

About a month ago i decided to upgrade my computers from windows vista home premium to windows 7 home premium. On my desktop i decided to do a upgrade which worked out pretty good, no problems, however, on my laptop i decided to do the fresh install. Everything went great until a few days ago, when windows update upgraded the video driver (nvidia geforce go 6150), i started to have trouble.

I first noticed that when i would move a window the background image would change to white, then i noticed that in my browser firefox i couldn't change themes, every theme would not work, it would still revert to the default theme. My ms money program's iu which is blue is now white and doesn't display anything but black fonts and white backgrounds.

For the last few days i have been searching for a solution. I found a new driver for my video chip (8. 15. 11. 8610) dated 6/03/2009. It has improved the situation some, just barely, but, i need a better solution. My hardware is as follows: hp pavilion dv9000z cto notebook pc, amd turion(tm) 64 x2 mobile technology tl-56, 2 gb of ram.

Nvidia Geforce 8400m Gt Graphic Driver Not Working

Following my question about aero peek not working, i have come to realize that my graphic driver has not been installed properly and that the rating of my graphics is only 1. 0.

Therefore i went onto my laptop company's site and downloaded the latest graphic driver for windows vista 32bit. As i now have windows 7 32 bit, i put the driver's compatibility as windows vista and ran it as an administrator and restarted my laptop.

From the device manager, now it says nvidia geforce 8400m gt, as it should. However, when i go onto windows experience index, and run the assessment again, it says: [windows experience index for your system could not be computed: cannot complete assessment. Etc etc]

Any idea as to why this does not work? Plus, is there a specific way of installing the graphics driver on win7 to get this working again? P. S. As i have said, i have already downloaded the latest version of my graphics driver.

Xfx Nvidia Geforce 6200 256mb Crashes

I'm having some issues with the xfx nvidia geforce 6200 256mb graphics card while running windows 7 in it. The computer seems to crash after a while or when trying to play a video file. There's no error message, it just crashes. The first symptom is a low performance in the mouse response, cursor moves too slow across the screen. Then the screen flashes a couple of times and then remains with stripes and dots all over it. Finally the screen turns black. Sometimes, if the
Crash is no too severe, my desktop refreshes and a pop-up message says: driver nvidia geforce 197. Has stopped working.

I checked, microsoft website and it says the nvidia geforce 6200 256mb is fully compatible with windows 7. I also tryed different drivers, clean driver installation and even the manufacturer of the card couldn't give me a solution to my problem.

My specs are:

1gb ram ddr400
Sata hard drive 180gb
Nvidia geforce 6200 256mb
Pc-chips a31g v1. 0 motherboard
(I've updated the system bios, all other devices' drivers are updated as well)
