Sound Randomly Stops Until Reboot

I have win7 64 bit on an hp, i will be playing music in either itunes, youtube or some other program, and when i go to switch the music source the audio stops. Itunes will be playing but the time will not move, youtube will show the video with no sound and nothing else will produce sound either. I also have the same issue at times when coming up from hibernating or sleeping. With both instances it happens randomly. It is always fixed by restarting. I had the same problem with xp on a different machine as well, and could never figure it out.

Sound Randomly Stops Working

Have had windows 7 for a while. The sound randomly just stopped working. I can see the sound on the volume bar, but it's just not coming out my speakers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the soundmax drivers, but still no sound. I've checked for similar issues but the other issues seem to just occur as people upgrade to windows 7. My sound was working fine within windows 7 and just appears to
Stop working out of no where. I just don't know what else it could be. I have windows 7 home premium.

Usb Stops Randomly With Disconnect / Connect Sound

I recently bought windows 7 professional and office 2007 to go a long with it, and installed windows 7 fine. It ran without the problem until i installed office 2007 half a week later. The problem is that randomly, every now and then the computer just stops, noticeably my mouse stops moving with the loading circle and a usb connect/disconnect sound for about second before running again. This happens regardless of what i'm doing, whether i'm out on the desktop, or actively using a program it still occurs.

I've tried changing the usb slot that my mouse is connected to, changing the mouse, uninstalling the office updates i had immediately before getting the problem, uninstalling office 2007 itself, uninstalling any windows updates i had around that time, changing my power settings, device settings, finding drivers, and it had no effect.

I had checked the eventlog for anything that seemed out of place, and none of the events there correspond to when the problem happens. So, so far i'm completely stumped, whether or not office is actually related i'm not even sure.combed the web for answers and still haven't found any solutions.

Sound Randomly Cut Out - Media Player Stops Working

Sound randomly cut out (and windows media player stops working, and videos move at 1 frame every 10 seconds with no sound) - windows 7 64 bit. I've been running vista 7 64 bit for several weeks. Lately the sound has been cutting out randomly. Once the sound cuts out, i also can't play any videos on windows media player because it gets very slow (like 1 frame every 10 seconds) and there is no sound.

Itunes doesn't let me play any songs, and anything else that could make a sound doesn't work. The only way i've found to fix this is with a restart. However lately i've had to do this almost every day, sometimes twice. My sound card is an m-mobile pre (since i have an xlr mic plugged into it). But i have the most recent firmware update for it. So i really have no idea what's happening here. Suggestions?

Audiodg.exe Stops Working Randomly

System process audiodg.exe randomly crashes. There is not much more i can tell you why it happens, but i've experienced it for at least 9 months. It is extremely annoying as a sound producer to pause my work several times a day, or my gaming at home, or just my (very short) chilling time while watching a movie, just to restore the process' normal behavior. My workaround: every-time i detect an anomaly on the process (audiodg.exe terminates, or uses maximum cpu - 1 core at 100%), all i have to do is:

A) kill the process manually (task manager - performance - resource monitor), if it is still running.

B) shutdown any programs that reproduce music (such as teamspeak, media player, games. ) Any solutions? I'm feeling forced to switch to mac or unix, since every software i work with has now at least a bit of compatibility with either of the other os'es.

Sound Stops On Instant Message

I recently got a new dell laptop with win7 x64, and i'm having some issues with the sound. I can listen to music or watch a youtube video just fine, but when i get an instant message from skype or gmail (desktop version only) it causes all sound to stop for a few seconds. I just updated to what appears to be the latest drivers, but it still has the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? Could it just be a general incompatibility of the skype or gtalk with a 64 bit os? Driver issues?

Speaker Sound Stops When Using Internet

I've been having a major problem with my computer where after a variable period of time ( most often when attempting to install a game or use the internet ) the computer stops sending sound through the speakers, claiming i've unplugged an audio jack when i really haven't. In addition the internet loses it's connection, when the internet is fine and so is the connection to the router as far as i can tell. I've tried rolling back the system with system restore but it happens again. Furthermore, the computer tends to slow down greatly and the only way to get out of it is to hit the reset button where 9/10 times it will ask me to go into safe mode. Which doesn't help. If someone could get back to me soon that would be brilliant.

No Sound Randomly Win 7 64-bit

I have no audio in my computer. No sound from anywhere let it be winamp, windows media player, youtube, system sounds, etc.

-Sound is not muted.
-Rebooting has not fixed the issue.
-I installed and reinstalled the realtek hd audio driver.
-System restore didn't fix the problem.

There was an error screen one time when i tried shutting down my computer, but it disappeared before i could see what it said and on the next boot up, there was no sound.

Everything in the computer says that the driver and sound is working. When i try to configure the speakers, it just says "failed to play test tone. "

Someone told me to enter the bios to check for audio. Not too sure how to enter it. When i press f2 to attempt to enter the bios, it just takes me to setup and there is no option to check for audio devices or anything. It just tells me things about booting up.

I have a sony vgn-fw510f/b. Realtek soundcard.

Have To Reinstall Sound Driver On Every Reboot

When i upgraded to microsoft windows 7 i noticed my speakers no longer worked. I downloaded a hd sound codec driver from realtek which is the company that made my sound card. It works fine then. The problem is that every time i turn my computer off at night and then start it up in the morning its like the driver that i downloaded won't hold. I even reset the computer after downloading the driver and everything. I can't seem to figure out how i can get the driver to stay so that i don't have to constantly reinstall it every morning. If this can't be fixed i think i might regret my decision to upgrade because i have had issue after issue.

Creative Sb0490 Usb Sound Blaster External Sound Card

My external sound blaster card sb0490 works on my xp machine. When connected to my windows 7 machine almost everything except creative mediasource player gives the error message "the audio device supported by this application is not detected". The mediasouce player works ok.

The driver is usb_w7drv_lb_1_01_0099. The usb bus controller is "usb composite device" using driver file usbccgp.sys version 6. 1. 7600. 16385 (win7_rtm. 090713-1255). An update search confirms this driver software is up to date. The windows 7 compatibility center reports "information coming soon" for this hardware. Has anybody a solution?

Fallout 3 Stops Working

I installed the patches and such manually (new to games for windows live and fallout 3 on the pc) i have using factory standard components with this 2009/2010 laptop and i have played eve and wow pretty easily (though i uninstalled most of these games because fallout has a special spot on my pc lol) and heard people say if i run eve on max settings i shouldn't have probs with fallout 3. I have windows 7 os. Everytime i hit new game, it goes to the desktop, says it stopped working (mouse disappears) so i have to ctrl+alt+delete to get my mouse back and have to hit close program. I have done everything it told me to do. I have not put mods or anything in, i have made and connected to gfw as well.

Below is a reply to someone telling me to use system requirements lab.com

I did but i find that it does not support or is compatible with what i have, as it says i can't run command & conquer 3 or any of the other games that i do or did run

This is what happened when i read the read-me file and tried to "update" my drivers and such
Ok about half an hour ago, i actually started to read the readme. It said i should update my drivers and such. I searched, went to dell and got a idt sound thing, and another driver thing for my chipset. But when i did the idt thing for my sound it said restart, i restart, and then it says "windows has encountered a problem and has to shut down" it restarted itself as well. It may have been that death screen but i have never experienced it, what did i do wrong? Did i damage my computer? The sound is fine, i don't know what happened, what do i do?

Here is why i can't do system restore:- the point on restore . Um . I have always tried to restore (only had for a month) and it always says i have too much memory, and i unselect all the optional things to do online restore. It seems fine as of now. I'm really only a computer geek at win95, and partial at that so i'm way new at this computer gaming. It's a dell computer, and my specs are in my profile.

What happens:- i said when i hit "new game" and hit "yes" it begins to load, then about 1 or 2 seconds of loading it crashes, saying fallout 3 has stopped working. I have used laptops with a lot of online games, don't know why f3 has given me these problems. I just spent so much on this and now i think i've screwed up my laptop, i don't know if i'm *** or sad right now. I'm not rich for custom, i'm only a senior in grad school.

Ie Briefly Stops Working

I've installed security essentials last week. Since then when i go to a website i get a popup that says "ie has stopped working". If i close the popup then it will actually go to that site. Also when i do a search off of google in the upper right hand corner of the screen, it will take me to thomasnet or some other site that doesn't help me at all. I'm using the verizon wireless card and this has not been a problem before the essentials was downloaded. Don't know if this is two separate issues or one is causing the other.

Last thing installed was office 2010 a month ago and then that incessant adobe update today.

Randomly Rebooting

I recently upgraded my computer hardware, and replaced winxp with win7 home premium oem 64-bit. Since this upgrade, my windows reboots at random intervals. Sometimes the screen shows random pixels before the reboot but not always. Sometimes it shows the blue screen of death (saying "attempt was made to write on a read-only memory").

Windows' own memory-test says everything is fine. I had memtest86+ run for 8 hours straight: no problem, no reboot. So i think this is not a hardware issue, since the computer keeps running for long periods of time if windows is not started.

Windows has been reinstalled already, all drivers have been updated, windows has been updated, norton internet security has been uninstalled. The problem still remains. I've run out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here's the complete hardware profile:

Processor: intel core i3-530 2. 93ghz
Memory: corsair twinx ddr3 1333mhz dhx cl9 kit
Videocard: integrated
Directx-version: directx 10
Motherboard: asus p7h55d-m evo
Harddrive: samsung 1000gb f3 7200rpm 32mb sata2 hd103sj
Power: corsair 450w

Pc Restarts Randomly

Okay so i have a relatively new velocity micro gaming computer that is about 3 weeks old and i have recently been experiencing one big problem. My computer just randomly restarts for no apparent reason (usually when i leave it alone for like half an hour to watch tv or something) and when it starts back up it gives an error message like windows did not shut down properly and it gives me the option to enter safe mode. I am currently running the paid version of norton internet security and i have already scanned my computer for viruses (full scan not quick scan).

In addition i have updated windows with all the recommended settings and updated my nvidia gt 220 video card driver from their website. I have performed all sorts of scans but i don't see any real problem that could be causing it. I am pretty sure it is not power-related because i'm using a good outlet with a surge panel. I also went into my system settings and unchecked the thing that says restart on system failure, but the problem still persists.

Cannot Complete Upgrade - Installation Just Stops

Cannot complete upgrade from win vista home premium 64 to win 7 home premium 64 using student offer, installation just stops at transferring files, settings and programs with no hd activity. I have tried upgrading my pc from vista home premium 64 to windows 7 home premium 64 four separate times, using microsoft's academic upgrade offer.

I use the upgrade option in installation, have tried both "online get latest installations updates" and "do not get latest install updates" and my upgrade goes fine all the way to the end when it should be moving my files, settings, and programs over to win 7  from vista, this is after win 7 has been installed at this point everything just stops, no hd activity, computer is not locked up though, caps lock still works, can move mouse, can even hit the x button in the installation window and get the message "installation cannot be canceled now. Etc. ", But the computer is not doing anything because no hd activity, i even left it on for 8 hours and no movement what so ever once it gets to this point.

I ran microsoft windows upgrade advisor the downloadable one and the one win 7 installation runs, and according to it everything should upgrade fine. I know this is extremely frustrating, i updated my drivers and everything yet it still get stuck at the end. I think doing a custom install would work, but i did not want to have to re-install everything, if i would have wanted to do a clean install, i would have purchased win 7 professional for the same price as home premium, since it is the version i preferred, but just to lazy to re-install everything on my pc.

The pc i am trying to install it on is a new system, just built in march of this year, core i7 920 system, and i even took it back down to stock clock in the bios, just in case that was causing problems. Anyone have any ideas, besides doing a custom install?

Hp 6110 Printer Stops Printing

Hp 6110 all-in-one printer stops printing one-tenth of the way down the page over & over (using windows 7, netgear wireless print server). We have a netgear 54 mbps wireless print server (model wgps606) that is hooked up to our hp officejet 6110 all-in-one (printer, copier, scanner, fax). We have three laptops printing to the 6110 through the print server. Two of the laptops are older and are running older versions of windows. My new laptop is running windows 7 home premium.

The older laptops have no problem printing to the 6110 through the print server. My new laptop can print to the 6110 through the print server but what happens is that it prints one-tenth or so of the first page, then stops and feeds the rest of the sheet through without printing, then starts reprinting, stopping one-tenth, stops and feeds through. Finally the whole page prints but usually after a bunch of partial pages print. This is entirely frustrating and is wasting a lot of paper & ink. I'm thinking it could be a problem with windows 7. Any thoughts?

Usb Hub Stops Working

I have just installed windows 7 ultimate x64 but i have a problem with the usb ports not recognizing devices after a period of time. After startup, everything is fine, but after a period of time (10 minutes / 10 hours) the usb ports stop recognizing everything that is plugged in (an external hdd, a usb drive, a printer).

Standard ms drivers are installed and updating them tells me the best drivers are installed. Running a nforce 610i-7100 chipset, do i just need to update the chipset drivers?

If i restart the computer, everything is back working, without reinstalling drivers or anything, it is all recognized again and functions fine, until the usb ports suddenly stop working and i have to restart again. My system has a core 2 quad q9300 processor with 4gb ram, previously running vista business sp2 x86. This is obviously a clean install.

Explorer.exe Stops Working

Double clicking on my computer icon usually displays the explorer page. What is interesting is that i can see the contents of my computer using the link of my documents without a problem. I have tried turning off indexing, repair using command line sfc /scannow (as administrator) no problem found, and fix it for internet explorer. I would appreciate any help / advise.

Mail Stops Sending And Receiving

I have had windows mail on my system for 2 years now and suddenly it's started having problems with sending and receiving mail. This is not 100% of the time, but intermittent - it's been ok for all day for example but now it's failing to connect and is coming up with the error message 0x800cc13. My iphone is thankfully still downloading mail in the interim so i don't think this is a server issue.

I'm using windows vista and this may be coincidence but i'm sure this has only started happening since the latest windows update. Any / all advice would be welcome, i'm using windows mail for work and this is really proving a bugbear.

System Image Recovery Stops

I had to send my laptop in for an rma, so i made a system image of my drives using the windows 7 backup utility. I have a single 250gb hard drive which is partitioned into two different drives. My c: had mostly windows 7 files and some programs while my d: had game installations and was used for general storage. When i received the laptop back (they just had to replace my dvd drive), i noticed they reformatted my hard drive and threw windows vista back on the thing, but the partitions still looked to be the same as before.

My system images were stored on a 1tb external drive, so i booted off of a windows 7 recovery cd and attempted to restore the c: and d: drives. After 13 minutes in the progress bar reaches about 1/3 of the way in. The hard drive activity light switches from always on to just flickering every couple seconds and no more progress is made. I've given it over an hour just sitting at this spot, but no matter how much time is given, the restore does not progress.

I've tried changing different options in the restore utility (only restoring one drive, formatting the drives to match the images and not), but no matter what i do, i get the same problem. I've also tried running the system image recovery from a windows 7 disk and from within windows 7 after a clean install. Does anyone have any suggestions? When i made the system image, i was told it was successful.

Wmp Play To Stops After Hour

I had recorded a tv program using windows media centre - duration 1hr 26 mins. After completion of the recording i used the wmp play to feature to stream the tv file to a samsung led tv that supports dlna connectivity. After 1 hour of play, the stream stopped automatically and could not continue. I am however able to watch the entire 96 mins using windows media centre directly on the pc. I checked the event logs for the time the streaming stopped and found the following:

Warning level message:

The windows media player network sharing service cannot process the request for uri

'http://[::1]:10243/wmpnssv4/2299935590/ezvemjlfquq1ltdfmemtndq1my05nki0lti2qzbgnui2qzc5nh0umc44.jpg?Albumart=true, formatid=13'

From ip address '::1' due to error '0x80070490'.

Error level message:

Proximity detection failed due to unknown error '0x80004004'. The best proximity time detected was -1 milliseconds.

The error message occurred about 90 seconds after the warning.

I have noticed this in the past as well (streaming for video ending after 1hr) but never played much attention to it. It appears to be occurring with video playback only, as i'm been able to successfully stream hours of mp3 music to the same samsung led tv.

Premium Theme Stops Cycling

My colleague has this issue and i've just noticed it happen on my system. I'm running a retail copy of windows 7 premium x64, whereas my colleague is running retail windows 7 premium x86. We have created custom themes and have them randomly cycling. After an unspecific time (sometimes hours, sometime days) we notice that the backgrounds aren't changing. When this happens we find that the personalize option shows the current background listed as a separate unsaved theme.

Choosing the custom theme fixes the issue temporarily but the problem reoccurs. Deleting the unsaved theme does not resolve the problem. Custom images are stored locally in the pictures folder of the user profile. Users are non-admin accounts. The systems are often left for a number of hours, and occasionally left overnight. During this time they are set to default power saving which includes turning off the monitors and going into power saving. I do not know if this is causing this issue.

Getting Bsod Randomly While Using Various Programs

So i upgraded my laptop computer (toshiba satellite) from windows vista 64 to window 7 64, and at first there were no problems. However, as i work, occasionally a bsod will come up. After the computer restarts itself, it shows up with the "find solution to problem" window:

Problem signature:
Problem event name: bluescreen
Os version: 6. 1. 7600. 2. 0. 0. 256. 1
Locale id: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
Bccode: 4e
Bcp1: 0000000000000007
Bcp2: 000000000013ce1d
Bcp3: 0000000000000001
Bcp4: 0000000000000000
Os version: 6_1_7600
Service pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:windowsminidump111809-28969-01.dmp
C:usersrogerappdatalocaltempwer-94146-0.sysdata.xml

Also, on the blue screen, at the top it says pfn_list_corrupt, then it proceeds to "file dump"? I have tried updating my drivers with windows 7 ones; i've tried cleaning the registry (with regdefense). However, neither of these have done anything to fix my problem. This is very much a problem, because my computer can restart itself without warning. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Win 7 Crashes Randomly

Recently my win 7x64 pro started crashing randomly (and now it crashes extremely often, but still at random) like if you pulled the plug. No bsod, no reboot, no crash-dump, nothing. The system only tells me that it didn't shut down properly.

The pc is a asus aspire m7711 (core2quad q8300, 8gb ram, geforce gt130), nothing clocked, no modifications. I've updated win, updated all drivers (except the ms-teredo-tunneling software, for the win update can't find any driver), turned off several stuff in the hardware manager, that could cause the problem and finally reinstalled win 7 it still crashes, sometimes just a few min after i turned it on but in safe mode the pc is stable. It only crashed once, that was some time ago and in user mode it crashed about 80 times in a week.

And the pc still has warranty, so i won't void it by opening the case. I see this as the last option, because i want to know what causes the problem.

Laptop Randomly Hibernates

i'm new to this site and have been experiencing my laptop hibernating randomly the past few days while i am using it. I could be working on anything in my computer, like browsing the web, checking email, etc. , And bam! Hibernates. I know it's not a virus because i have mcafee and windows defender both active and they scan my laptop bi-weekly.

I've asked a few friends at school, and they've given a few possible suggestions; the memory that is being used, or the time i'm using it, (after startup), but i've came to the assumption that it could be both. By both, i mean that once the processor passes a certain memory usage, and a certain time after then, is where the problem could jump from. Since i've thought of that solution, i've tried using less programs together, (e.g. Only the browser or only windows live mail), and as i've been using this solution, it has rarely hibernated w/o notice.
