Blue Screen Of Death

Running windows 7 professional, ie 8 - keep getting unexpected shutdowns with the following errors: 1) memory management and 2) pfn list corrupt. For the memory management error i have run the memory diagnostics and the results indicate that i have a hardware problem and i should contact the manufacturer (gateway). Unfortunately, i no longer have a warranty and they charge $60 for 1/2 hour. (I have spent that much and the technical support person didn't resolve my problem).

I don't have a clue as what pfn list corrupt is. Please note that i am not a tech person and all the reports(dumps) that vare generated are useless to me, since they are not clear to read.
I do run all my maintenance and antivirus programs daily and try to keep everything according to protocol. Yet i keep getting the blue screen of deaths. Please also note that i always get a window after the fact that reads: "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. "

Questions:

1) if i purchase a new hard disk, would this take care of the problem or not?

2) does ram have anything to do with these errors? 3) what other alternatives are there?

Would appreciate solid guidelines and your enlightening me on the above resolution.

Blue Screen Of Death Issue

My wife's computer crashed. I was not able to see it happen so i don't know the code. After this, the computer would not start. I once got it to have a blinking cursor but could type nothing. So, knowing it must be a hardware issue (no new driver updates or anything installed) i took out the hard drive and put it in another laptop. Here are the codes that came up.

Bccode: a
Bcp1: 8000000d
Bcp2: 00000002
Bcp3: 00000000
Bcp4: 8301fb26
Os version 6_1_7600

I was able to copy off the .dmp file saved if you need it. Would like to know what this all means and ultimately if the laptop is now an anchor. It is a dell insperion 5200

Kernel Data Error - Blue Screen Of Death

If i leave my computer for any length of time a blue screen appears and one of the lines reads: kernal data error the final line says beginning dump of physical memory but doesn't do it. Shortly afterwards the black screen appears stating boot failure and i have to switch off manually. When i turn on again reboots ok and everything seems fine unless i leave it unmanned or attempt a full scan. Have searched around and it appears it could relate to a recent windows upgrade. I am a complete novice here and don't understand some of the tech stuff to solve this problem and can't really find exactly the same prob as mine. Please can anyone help?

Classpnp.sys Blue Screen

I upgraded to windows 7 professional from xp about 3 months ago. The system worked really well until earlier this week.computer was switched off correctly but on switching on a few hours later the system went into a continuous loop of restarting itself. If i try to load in safe mode the system stops at classpnp.sys. I have tried to re-install from the windows upgrade disk but it seems to go so far and then just stops or i get the blue screen.

I have checked all the message boards but so far there is nothing that has worked. This is the only pc that i have access to that is running windows 7 - all of the rest are on xp. I dont care if i lose the information on my hard drive as it was all backed up before i upgraded to windows 7.

Nvlddmkm.sys Driver Causes Blue Screen

The nvlddkm.sys driver for my geforce 6150se nforce 430 graphics card causes a blue screen of death whenever i watch a youtube video for a long period of time. I re-installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and it still does this. I run windows 7 ultimate 64bit, skype, teamviewer, pidgin client, mirc, firefox, kaspersky internet security 2010, opendns updater, itunes, and outlook 2007.

This problem has caused an unbootble machine when it first happened. It stops happening when i uninstall the nvlddkm.sys display driver, but when it gets reinstalled via windows u[date, and i reboot, it blue-screens. When i re-installed the os, i could work normally again. I am afraid this problem could start again however.

Problem: Delay On Boot Due To Drivers Files: Ndproxy.sys, Srv.sys, And Vga.sys

Recently installed a fresh copy of windows 7 x86 and x64 in separate instances to see if the problem of a two minute period between the "windows is starting" screen and the desktop. Neither had a visible impact. I looked around online and found how to create a boot log. The following are the drivers/services that could not be installed during my startup:

4 instances of ndproxy. Svs
1 instance of vga.sys (hadn't installed video card driver yet)
1 instance of srv.sys

After installing the necessary drivers and with no alert from the device manager, the boot time is still roughly 2 minutes. Right now i am at a loss on what to do. For reference my avg startup time in xp was around 10 seconds from the windows logo. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Black Screen Of Death

Ok. First of all, i'll start by saying i know nothing about computers. My laptop is dell xps m1710 (gaming laptop)

On december 1st 2009 i was prompted to download a windows update. I told it to do it now, rather than postpone. After it had done its 3 of 3 steps it booted to desktop where i was greeted by a delightful black screen of death.

Not knowing what to do, i took my laptop to maplin (a store that sells parts for computers in uk). The guy in there said he would work on it for me on his day off. My dvd r/rw was damaged so he couldn't reformat since he couldn't use an external one as it wasn't showing in the bios. So i ordered a new identical one from dell. Then there was delays in it arriving because of christmas, new year, and then all the snow and ice that the uk received in early january. The dvd r/rw arrived january 14th.

He said that he installed windows vista (the operating system i was using at the time) and it was fine, and then he downloaded all the windows updates, and it got to the last one (dec 2009) and then black screen of death! He said he did this 9 times (reformatting) and then told me to go out and buy windows 7 to try and get newer drivers. So i did. Then same problem. He disabled that update and hid it so that it wouldn't ever download.

I take it back home, after not being on a computer for seventy-two long days, and install world of warcraft on it, to see if its playable. After installing i log in to play and it says "failed to find a suitable display device. " And i cant have a screen-saver "you need a video-card thats compatible with direct3d". My video-card is nvidia 9. I sent a text message to the guy from maplin.

He said its about time i contacted microsoft and see what they have to say. He said to tell them i have had a gpu driver problem that caused a black screen on vista and that i've bought windows 7 to try and get newer drivers, but its doing the same thing. Official drivers from nvidia also have the same effect. Even drivers from 2007 give the same result so he says it has to be interaction between the os and the drivers.

Black Screen Of Death Problem

I cannot for the life of me figure out why i cannot play mameui all i get is a black screen cannot ctrl+alt+del, click mouse does nothing, pressing keys on the board does nothing. I have to restart my computer. Same happens when i exit my dream aquarium screensaver, marine aquarium screen-saver. Been searching the net and none of the suggestions work. My mb is gigabyte ga-73pvm-s2h all drivers and bios have been updated, asus 9600 gt video card, 4 gig ddr2 ram (tried different ram as well).

Black Screen Of Death With No Cursor

I have tried what people suggested about using control alt del to no avail. I have even tried to reinstall windows 7 to no avail. The computer worked fine when first installed, then after an update, everything went to pot. Now when i start up the computer, the microsoft logo comes up, then goes to black with no cursor visible and my monitor states "no signal". I am running an amd phenom x4 955 with windows 7 ultimate. This is very frustrating. I cannot get onto the internet from my home computer at all or do any thing. I have tried booting from the cd. No help.

Black Screen Of Death Error

I recently had an unstable system (i.e. Programs would stop working, administrator rights had to be granted to the admin account) and then i logged on one day to find a completely black screen.

I of course opened task manager to see what the problem was, and found only a few services were running. I restarted explorer.exe and checks the services. Msc list. All services were disabled. I am in the process of trying to find out which services were enabled right now.

Now, i have noticed that my internet is extremely slow (but i might still need to fix the services) and that i cannot disable remote procedure call (rpc) since its a remote anything i don't want it.
Is this a completely necessary process, or a result of a virus?

Also, i still cannot access any files, it gives me an error stating that i cannot access a shortcut, because i dont have the appropriate permissions. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have a fix for the services thing? Luckily they seem to stay put when i re-enable them and reboot.

Blue Screen - Driver_power_state_failure

I have owned windows 7 for about 5 months now. I upgraded to windows 7 professional from windows xp home edition. I also upgraded to 4gb of ram. Since then, i have, at random times, received the blue screen of death and then my computer quickly shuts down and reboots. I haven't bothered with getting it fixed because it wasn't too much of a problem for me, but now it seems to be recurring a lot more often. I have already had it happen twice today.

However, sometimes it is not always a blue screen, it may just turn black, shut off, and reboot. When it is a blue screen i notice it says driver_power_state_failurealso note that whenever this problem happens, i am always on internet explorer 8, not doing anything out of the ordinary either. My computer just gets these screens at random times. I have looked at other topics in this forum for the answer, but it has been difficult finding a solution.

Blue Screen Problem

I been lurking around here for sometime hoping to find some answers to my problem. While cleaning my files in my laptop, i accidentally delete my boot.ini so i encountered "ntdlr missing problem "press alt ctrl delete". I have my windows xp 98 cd & made a boot from there but it's asking for administrator password although i didn't have a password. So i given up on doing this stuff.

To keep my old files from losing i decided not to reformat my laptop since i didn't have any back up of it. So my friend & i decided to install windows 7, but whenever i watch movie from a dvd- rom i encountered some problem. The images goes blurred then eventually my laptop crashed. Diagnosis were:

Blue Screen At Login

I bought my friend laptop after he came back from iraq cause he no longer wanted it. I was going threw changing the stuff to make it mine, like user name and what not. Well i tried to change the computer name as it was his name kebowlin-pc and it said to do this to restart the computer. I did, and now when the computer gets to windows 7 login screen it goes to the blue screen error. I have done two system restores with no luck. I have also tried changing the name back with now luck. This is what it is telling me.

Also a weird thing that i don't under stand is that the main user file is his name and it has a little lock on its pic in the user files, but i am the only person on the computer and the only admin.

Constant Blue Screen

I recently purchased a computer running windows 7 home premium 64-bit. Here are the basic specs.
Intel(r) core(tm) i5 cpu 750 @ 2. 67 ghz 8. 00gb ram

I bought this pc mainly for gaming (primarily steam, but i've been running games like dragon age: origins and cryostas is without the client). However, recently, every time i quit a game (or any program that's full screen, really) or attempt to change my resolution/display settings, i instantly get a blue screen. This can be at any time; i can boot the computer (which only take about 45-60 seconds) and instantly boot, for example, team fortress 2; and the second i quit it, i get the blue screen. Because of this i somehow doubt it has anything to do with overheating issues, but i myself wouldn't really know. Here's the error code that i receive upon windows' revival.

Blue Screen 0x1e

Well, i received a new computer about a month ago, and it's been running perfectly until today. I started it up and was customizing the dock when my virus program, mcafee, told me i needed to restart my computer because it had recently updated. After it rebooted, it ran fine until suddenly a blue screen popped up with some text on it. Sorry, but i didn't have time to read the text because it popped up and left so fast. I did get to read something about it needing to shutdown to protect data (i think), but that's about it.

Anyway, when it rebooted, it stopped in the middle of it and told me the unexpected shutdown caused some problems and told me that i might be able to recover my data if i started windows in safe mode, so i chose the regular safe mode and rebooted it. It started with the screen resolution in 800x600, and looked like windows 2000 with a few different things. The background was now this black screen with "safe mode" text in all four corners, and "microsoft" text centered on top of the screen. It opened up two things, one being a "what is safe mode" help window, and the other being some sort of error window telling me that "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" and that windows could "check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online. ' and then told me the error details.

After i had read all of it and copied the error details to a notepad file, i rebooted again hoping it'd turn back to normal. It started up again and is currently running normally without any problems, but i still want to know what happened, why, and how i could fix and/or prevent the issue from appearing in the future.

Blue Screen When Using Ie8

I get a bsod randomly when using ie8. Using bluescreen view i typically get the following info: a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ntoskrnl.exedriver_corrupted_expool if this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.

If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable bios memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press f8 to select advanced startup options, and then
Select safe mode. Technical information:*** stop: 0x100000c5 (0x00000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x82f2104d)*** ntoskrnl.exe - address 0x82f2104d base at 0x82e01000 datestamp 0x4c1c3faci could use some help in resolving this problem.

Blue Screen With Error D1

Blue screen with windows 7 i"ve been running windows 7 since it came out in october with no issues. Back in march after an update and reboot i've had restart after restart problems, many giving me different errors everytime. Sometimes i can load in safe mode, but it usually takes me rebooting 10 times to get there. I roll back to the previous update and seem to get restarted only to start the process all over again on another reboot. Some of the errors i've gotten are memory_management, or unknown hard error(systemootsystem32dll.dll), a usb driver error, page fault in non page area, e tc.

I haven't installed anything, and even tried a clean install and before i run any updates im getting restart errors again. I currently have all updates turned off so its not a new update thats causing this. Im ready to go back to windows xp im so frustrated. We run windows 7 on 4 other computers and we haven't had any issues so not sure why its just me. This is a copy of the latest error i received

Blue Screen - Memory_management 0x1a

Ok so i turn on my computer and it starts up fine and either gets to the windows 7 splash or actually to the desktop where i can start up any of my programs or players, regardless of how far it goes i get a bsod, blue screen of death, and immediate restart and after the restart my windows works fine for the most part. Below is the information that i'm able to pull up about the problem.

So that we're clear about what i've done to fix the problem myself:
1) i reinstalled the os
2) i used a burned image of my then working os.
3) i've checked and removed an external hdd.
4) even checked and updated my bios for my mobo.

Still as i said below is the error information that get for this weird problem.
