Input Language

I have windows 7 ultimate and have added korean through windows update. I have also added korean as an input language but when i display the properties of the keyboard it shows the us english layout. When i switch between them the language bar shows korean but sill puts english characters on the screen. I have tried removing the input languages and uninstalling the language pack and reinstalling it. I believe the problem is with the properties of the korean keyboard properties. How do i fix this?

Input Language For All Users

Is there a way to make the language toolbar stick for all users? In xp, if you turned on the language toolbar, it was on for all users. I can't seem to figure out a way to have it stay for all users. Each user seems to have to go to the control panel>clock, language and region>change keyboards options. I work in education so we'd like to keep from having to make every student that logs into a computer go through the steps of adding the keyboard layout each time they use a new computer.

Usb Microphone Input Is Overpowered By Input Device

I connected a behringer "u-phono uf0202" audio interface usb device on a toshiba qosmio x505 computer. The device takes analog signals from tape recorders and inputs digital signals to the usb port. The device is automatically identified and drivers installed - no software from the manufacturer, just microsoft drivers.microsoft drivers treat it like a usb microphone and the behringer audio interface way overpowers the input. The level setting has to be set at 2 or 3 to keep the level indicators from maxing out. Do i need to force a different driver for this device that has more output than a microphone? If so how do you get the driver installed on the right usb port every time you plug in the device?

No Keyboard Input Available

There is a user who started having problems this morning. The machine is 1 week old, loaded with windows 7 ultimate 64bit. The keyboard is dead, the only thing i'm able to do is turn the f-lock on and off nothing else responds. I tried plugging in another usb keyboard and then a ps-2 keyboard and neither work. When i was finally able to use the on screen keyboard to login i found in device manager there was an error 19 for the keyboard saying that driver information in the registry had become corrupt so the device couldn't be started.

So i look that up and find that deleting the upperfilter in the registry was suggested. So i deleted the upperfilter and rebooted and still no keyboard. I can use the keyboard in the bios and to select safe mode or normal mode but once windows starts the keyboard is dead. I've also noticed that everytime i reboot along with the usb keyboard and mouse a ps-2 keyboard and mouse is installed in the device manager with exclamation marks. I've restored to earlier times when everything worked and still no keyboard. Any ideas?

Mouse / Input Delay In Win 7

After extensive testing with benchmarking, and using the exact same hardware with the exact same drivers i have reached the following conclusion. Any input within the system in windows 7, takes 30-32 ms more to be processed. My system is an i7 975, with 12gb 1600 mhz ddr3 ram, a raid 0 configuration of 2 velociraptor 10, 000 rpms and an hd 5970 graphics card. Which is basically an apex of performance as of december 2009.

Why does windows 7 have this slightly noticeable lag? Would reinstalling help? Could it be due to any of the above hardwares?

Garbled Text Input From Keyboard

When typing on my keyboard my input is sometimes garbled or rearranged. Running 64-bit windows 7 ultimate. Problem appears occasionally. Goes away when computer is restarted. Might go for weeks without a problem.computer is on during the day and off each night. When the problem occurs i can plug in a different keyboard and the problem continues. When the problem occurs, i can input successfully if i use the "on-screen keyboard" application.

The garbled characters appear in the same sequence as the key order on a qwerty keyboard. In other words, for example, i might try to type "green" and the characters may appear as "asdfg" or "xcvbn" or any other 5 characters that are sequential on a qwerty keyboard, including numeric keypad. Shift key works properly.

Monitor Only Works With Analogue Input

I have installed windows 7 on a new hard disk in my pc. I also have a new graphics card geforce gt240. When running vista my monitor was connected via dvi only. When i boot up the machine the monitor works until just after the windows logo and then goes blank. It works fine with an analogue cable. I have installed the latest driver from nvdia for the graphics card. In device manager the monitor driver shows up as generic non pnp monitor. It is a viewsonic 20inch flat panel monitor and is definitely pnp.

It works fine in dvi on another machine running xp so the monitor is ok. I tried loading a new viewsonic driver but the installation said it couldn't detect my monitor and aborted. Should i try to install a generic pnp monitor driver and if so where can i get one?

Keyboard Input - Audio Output Timing Lag

I have a new dell vistro 1720 running windows 7 pro, 3 gb of memory. I've installed microsoft's virtual pc and am running a xp virtual pc because of a legacy app our business requires. It's all running great except for a timing skip/lag in the keyboard input and audio output. I don't mind the audio skips but a one or two second delay in displaying what i'm typing is bothersome. I've increased the amount of allocated memory to the virtual pc and reset the process priority to high with no discernible difference. Any ideas?

Dynamic Pen Feedback In Win 7 - Tablet Pc Input Service

There is a wonderful video on the web explaining how to disable this annoying feature, but it only works in higher versions of windows 7 due to lack of expedite. Msc. Here is the video. http://vimeo.com/8567716

Using only the "services" part of this fix does not help.completely disabling it made the feedback disappear only until i put my computer to sleep. After the feedback returned, i re-enabled, then disabled "tablet pc input service". Now i can't even get it to work for a second. Also, geek squad didn't know. The sooner the reply the better i use my tablet for my job and trying to draw with that splash is impossible

Language Choice

I live in the netherlands and have been looking for a pc, with win7 in english. A couple of places sell pcs with a choice of dutch or english win7 home. But i am unsure about this. I thought a choice of a different language was only available with ultimate. Nevertheless i have been informed that it is possible to make the choice of language once only and at the initial setup stage. I would be grateful for advice as to whether this is feasible. If it is not, would i be better off buying an english version of the home edition win7 and do a clean install on the new pc before i transfer my programs from my old pc?

Language Problems

I am on a trip abroad and i had recently bought a laptop computer that has windows 7 home premium oem 64 with japanese interface language installed on it. My problem is: i don't read japanese. I checked with that retailer and they told me its not possible to switch the language on any specific machine they sell since its the oem boxed set and that those can't be changed by the retailers. They did however offer me to spend more money and to buy a windows 7 upgrade which, as they put it will allow me to download language packs from microsoft and to change the actual interface language.

A friend of mine has bought windows 7 home premium english version 64 installation disk for her computer. And my question is : is it possible to somehow run a repair installation using her disk to change the interface language on my laptop using my product key? I mean, the os is non usable to me and in order to get any work done on that new laptop of mine i need it in english. If a repair installation isn't the solution please advise me on a reasonable solution to changing the interface language on windows 7 home premium.

Language Bar Changes Itself

The language bar randomly changes the language from us english to chinese for no particular reason, it also changes the keyboard input from us to multilingual canada, (which isn't that bad, you just lose out on most of your punctuation) has anyone else encountered this problem, i can change it back, it's just annoying when your typing and then you look at the screen and somewhere halfway through it you see that the language changed without any intention.

I can change it back but every couple days on the 3 computers i have purchased win7 for are having this issue, so i know it's not a hardware issue.

How To Use Chinese Language?

I have read some of the q/a concerning chinese language, and am more confused than before. I understand that chinese language capability needs a special download. My initial question is whether one can switch from english to chinese (and vice versa) simply by hitting a toggle key, or are things more cumbersome? Other questions: what form/s of chinese input is/are available? Is there a chinese-english or english-chinese dictionary capability?

Monitor Displays "no Input Detected"

Monitor displays "no input detected" after completing installation is displayed after initial restart. Whenever i try to upgrade/install to windows 7, it will get past the initial installation procedures and after restarting to complete the installation it will proceed to the point where it states "completing installation" and then after 30 seconds my monitor will display "no input detected. "

Specs: amd phenom ii x4 965 processor, dual radeon hd 4850 graphics cards in crossfirex, 4gb of ddr3 1333 ram.

Things i have tried:

-Booting into safe mode: results in message stating installation cannot be completed in safe mode and then proceeds to restart the computer and then the above happens again
-Booting into safe mode and pressing shift + f8 and typing explorer.exe: results in start bar appearing, but none of the functions are usable, and usually it will then restart and above.
-Booting into low graphics mode: no effect
-Removing one of the graphics cards: no effect
-Removing the crossfire bridge: no effect
-Flash drive unattend.xml file graphics card driver update: no effect

Keyboard Language Toolbar

I agree with the query:  there is an easy route to removing the language bar (i.e. The way to control the keyboard language) in windows 7, but not to restore it. Windows 7 help says that one is to do it via toolbar selection after right-clicking the taskbar. Unfortunately, that is wrong: there are only 3 toolbar on offer in that pane:  address, links and desktop. And btw:  might i suggest that the support engineer remove the response from "rockmoibebe", as it does not solve the problem.

My friend is using windows vista premium home edition, when working with email like gmail/hotmail/yahoo mail etc he cannot write the subject and body of letters in arabic language, while search field and address fields are ok for arabic. He can write arabic language in other applications like ms word/ notepad etc with no problem. But in the above subject and body letter field, when he tries to write in arabic, the keyboard keys displays numbers and other special characters. I checked different options of regional languages and internet explorer language settings, but i couldn't able to fix the problem.

Wrong Language Installed

Somehow while i was installing win 7 i ended up getting ukrainian installed. It only was visible on the calendar. All the rest of the screens and dialogue are displayed in english. I changed the calendar settings and now everything is in english.

Here is my problem. When i try to install office 2007 the dialogue window is in ukrainian. How do i fix this?

Since writing this i have checked region and language account settings. In advanced/copy settings i found ukrainian in welcome screen options. I changed everything to english and restarted. The issue is still there.

The opening dialogue box for office 2007 is still in ukrainian.

How To Change Display Language?

I buy a desktop and it supposed to be installed with windows 7 home premium with swedish language. But it's not. I talked to the reseller and they will send me a new dvd with windows 7 in swedish, so fare so good but:-

Do i really have to reinstall the whole computer?
Is there not a way to just change the display language?

I have already started to use the computer and it will take 14 days until i get my dvd. Isn't there any work around to just upgrade windows 7 or just change language in an easy way. It doesn't matter if the operating system is in english but i need the displays to show text in swedish.

Display Language Selection

I have searched on the web for an answer to the following question, and have found lots of info about "illegal" keys. I asked the ms help telephone centre, but alas, i don't really think the lady understood the question. And i asked a ms employee at a recent presentation, and am not really confident of the answer he gave.

So i'll ask here!

I have been given a boxed copy of windows 7 professional, unopened, for the french win 7 pro.

Now, i know that the key will be version specific, i.e. "Pro, " but is it also language specific? In other words, if i use a win7 pro (english) installation dvd will the "french" key work to give me an english install?

I really don't want to open the box to try this and therefore "waste" a key; if it won't work i'll try to find someone who can use the french version.

Installer Language Conflict

Just moved up to 64 bits windows 7. I have the dutch language version. I am trying to install msxml2 sp2 (msxml. Msi). One can choose from a number of languages, but not dutch, so i choose english (which is what i always did previously, and without problems). As soon as i click on install, my computer freezes up, and the only option is to turn off the power switch.

I have noticed that with other programmes (for example abbyy fine reader 9. 0) where one can choose the language (including dutch), the same thing happens if i choose a language other that dutch (fair enough), but surely we are allowed to use the msxml package? Any suggestions?Ideas:programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem.

Some say if i reinstall font package for windows 7, it should fix the problem, but it seems there is no official font package available on the internet. Where can i find?If those are not the solution, then what should i do to fix it?

Upgrade Language Incompatibility

I'm from portugal ordered an upgrade kit after being assured that my acer bought recently was prepared for the upgrade. I ordered the portuguese language, which is the original in my pc. The only one available was portuguese (brazil) which meant that it was the universal portuguese version. Now i can't upgrade because it says it's not language compatible. Whose responsibility is it? How do i get my money back or a correct upgrade kit?

Upgrade Product Key And Language

I'm trying to finish upgrading my network to windows 7 (i've upgrades 2 at the official release), so i bought a family pack upgrade. But the family pack was only available in french (no english copies left).

Can i use the product keys from the french family pack to activate english installs? I already have english upgrade media from the previous upgrades, so it's just a question if the keys will activate?

If i can't activate an english install what options do i have? Is the french family pack of no use to me?
