Notebook Keeps Crashing In Normal Mode

Before asking, i'd like to say that i'm not familiar with all the tech terms; i was hoping if someone could just generally tell me what's wrong with my notebook.

So i have an asus eee pc, windows 7 starter. All this time it was working fine, but today when i switched it on, during startup it suddenly crashed and showed this blue screen with stuff written. It was saying something about 'found a problem with the system', and then there was 'system_registry' , 'if this was my first time experiencing this problem then i should reboot' etc etc but i didn't manage to read all of them because it'll quickly show the choose mode screen (safe mode etc) and so the same thing repeats again and again every time. I didn't even managed to get the notebook scanned or anything since it automatically crashes during startup.

What's happening here? Is it a virus or some technical faults i'm not aware of?

Windows 7 Freeze In Normal Mode, Safe Mode Works Fine

I am out of ideas. Three days ago my computer started freezing within a few minutes after startup. Freezes with no mouse movement and no keyboard. Must shutdown using the power button. Happens every time i start in normal mode. Safe mode works fine. I have done quite a bit of reading and tried a number of things, so far to no avail. Quite a few error codes present, here are some:

Winlog 6000
Service 7001
Distrib 10005
Service 7026
Event log 1101
Kernel 41
Browser 8032
Load perf 3011
Load perf 3012

I have tried restoring, turning off all non-microsoft services, disabling sound, updating video driver, memory test, adjusting bios per g skill tech forum. All hardware showing normal operation in device manager.

I can't find the minidump .dmp folder in c:/windows. The only location i find for .dmp files is in the watchdog folder, and there are quite a few in there. Let me know if i need to upload them.

My computer is a couple of months old and has been working flawlessly until this happened with one exception. (I have been getting occasional monitor blanking for a couple of seconds followed by a notification that the graphics driver has stopped responding and was successfully restored. )

Not Able To Boot Into Normal Mode

I have the exact same laptop and got the exact same error message. It happened after going through windows update and when i rebooted for the system to finish updating, i have this same error message come up. It happen several months ago and everex is no longer around! I can't boot into last know good config, or into safe mode, or to the standard desktop. I have been able to get to a command prompt using a bootable disk - which i thought had the iso image for vista x-32 to assist me with reinstalling software.

System Stalls In Normal Mode

I shut down my system as per usual earlier, when i booted it back up about an hour ago it loaded up normally however it goes on to stall within 30 seconds, first the task bar will stop working and then the entire system will freeze (however the mouse will still move) ctr+alt+del doesn't work and the clock stops as well, the only thing that works is starting in safe mode as i am in now, i have not downloaded/visited any software or un trusted websites today, i am using a 64-bit system, i acquired windows 7 as a downloadable upgrade via microsoft student discount offer, i have run virus scans and nothing has been discovered, am getting to the end of my tether right now, any help is appreciated "edit" i should also add the system restore is disabled. And i do not have a restore point. As far as i know.

Get Hdmi Working In Normal Mode

How to get hdmi working in normal mode? I'm having trouble getting my pc to output to hdmi using 32 bit windows 7. When connected via hdmi the screen shows the post/bios however the sides are cut off. Then it shows the 'starting windows' screen but after this it cuts off and shows 'no signal'.

I have a gigabyte ga-eg45m-ds2h motherboard with an intel g45/g43 express chipset and all of the drivers are up to date. I spoke to someone from intel who looked into the issue further and thought that the problem was that the driver wasn't picking up the digital part of the tv as it wasn't reading the edid properly. He couldn't however offer a solution.

Here is what the intel graphics properties diagnostic gives:

Intel® graphics media accelerator driver report

Report date: 6/8/2010
Report time[hr:mm:ss]: 20:4:58
Driver version: 8. 15. 10. 2119
Operating system: windows 7 (6. 1. 7600)
Default language: english (united kingdom)

Ian ps. It will boot into safe mode using hdmi at 1024x768 fine but as soon as i put it up to 1280x1024 it displays 'no signal' again. Seems to be definitely a problem with the resolutions.

Pc Stuck At Login Screen On Normal And Safe Mode

I turned my pc on in the morning and everything loads up until i get to the login screen and i can't do anything. The mouse doesn't move, the touchscreen doesn't do anything, and the same goes for the keyboard. I've tried "safe mode" and the same problem occurs. I've checked for errors and tried to start at last known good configuration and the problem is still there. I booted into windows vista and it worked like a charm. However, whenever i go into windows 7 the problem is present. If anyone could please help, i would be very thankful.

Hide Administrator Account At Normal Logon

How to hide the built-in administrator account at normal logon? I am now using windows 7 pro at work, and i am trying to recreate the system we had previously on windows xp pro. Namely, i had it set up so that each computer had a standard user account and an admin account. I used the built-in administrator account which is invisible on the normal logon screen - you have to start windows in safe mode to access it.

I have been into advanced user accounts and enabled the administrator account, but it shows up on the standard logon screen - is there any way on 7 to hide this account like it was on xp?

Hp Pavilion Notebook Upgrade Failure

I bought an hp pavilion notebook in august that came loaded with vista and with the promise to upgrade to windows 7 in october when it became available. In october i requested and received the upgrade disks in november. My life has been a long nightmare ever since.

When i performed the upgrade, the computer congratulated me and told me windows 7 was successfully installed. Then the computer froze with any application i tried. I called hp technical support and spent hours-no, days-on the phone with them trying every test and solution they asked for. Nothing made any difference.

Finally hp said i must have a bad installation disk and instructed me to go back to the company providing the upgrade disks and get a new set. Six weeks later, the new disks arrived. I installed them. Same result. Frozen computer. I again spent hours-no, days-on the phone with hp tech support trying every test and fix they suggested. No progress. Finally they agreed to take in the notebook and work on it.

Very fast turnaround. They got the computer back to me within ten days. They said they had "re-imaged the hard drive. " Hooray, it worked! Then i noticed that hp had reinstalled vista. They had the opportunity to send me back a computer, all fixed, with windows 7 up and running, and instead they set me back all the way to august 2009. Right where i started, and no windows 7. I reinstalled the windows 7 upgrade disks. Same negative result. Frozen computer.

Now i am in the middle of more hours-no, days-of phone conversations with hp tech support. They are putting me through the same diagnostic tests, reinstallation, driver installations, tedious time watching paint dry on my computer screen, with no indication that anything will change this time.

Am i a chump or what? Is anyone else experiencing the same problems. How do i get hp and/or microsoft to pony up and get me a computer and an operating system that works?

Installs Notebook Power Settings On Pc

I installed windows 7 professional on a pc successfully, but the power option settings are for a notebook computer, offering 'on battery' and 'plugged in' options although it does not have a battery. (It is connected to a ups. ).

(1) can i alter the power options so that windows 7 knows that it is a pc and not a notebook computer?
(2) will there be any other issues that might affect this pc, if windows 7 thinks it has installed on a notebook computer?

Gateway Mx7120 Notebook Audio Problem

I installed windows 7 r. C. Over windows xp pro. On my gateway mx7120 notebook. Why can't windows 7 r. C. Have audio drivers for a gateway notebook with ac 97 audio system? Everything else seems to work fine. I'm impressed with windows 7 and the speed with which it operates my gateway mx 7120. However, one of the main uses for the notebook is with a gps receiver and microsoft streets & trips 2010. But, without audio, i'll get no verbal directions from the software.

The windows vista and the xp drivers on the gateway web site do not work with windows 7 r. C. Either.microsoft, can't you make an easy-to-install audio driver patch for the ac 97? Or should i go back to ubuntu? Uninstalling windows 7 is a real pain for those who did a "clean install" and want to revert to an older version of windows!

Warranty For Wired Notebook Optical Mouse 3000

So i've had my notebook optical mouse 3000 for almost a year. I live in canada and i believe i have a 3 year warranty but correct me if i'm wrong. My problem is is that the insulator for the wire that connects to the usb connector has slowly been stripping exposing the copper wires that reside underneath. Lately its been getting worse and the mouse has even been disconnecting if it is bent the wrong way. So my question is does this qualify for a replacement with my warranty(assuming it exists) and if so how do i go about replacing it?

Unfortunately, the rather nonsensical design of putting the serial number on the bottom of a mouse has caused the number to fade away. I no longer have the manuals but i still have the drivers on my computer and the cd with it as well. Is there anything i can do to get a replacement? Or will i have to resort to my soldering skills to crudely fix my problem.

Crashing

I too am having a problem with my internet crashing. And it takes my vista anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes to go through the crashing stage before i can do anything. I don't know how many times i have to re-set my ie8 to get it to stop but it is frustrating for me because i get on here to relax and i can no longer do that. There are enough problems with people being down right rude but when you cant play a game because ur ie8 crashes all the time it gets really frustrating. I wish you would get this problem fixed and soon.

Explorer.exe Is Crashing

My system was infected yesterday by one of those fake antivirus programs. Usually i am able to get rid of it fairly easily. I run spybot search and destroy as well as defender. It seemed to have removed the problem. I restarted the computer and now i am having issues. Explorer will not load on it's own. All i get is a black screen with a mouse pointer in the middle. I used alt-ctrl-delete to start the wtm and explorer through it. But i am unable to open any folders.

After clicking on any folder it takes about 30sec for a message to popup stating: "server execution failed". I can start start most programs through wtm, but i want to run the disk check to see if there are errors. Is there anything i can do? Or should i reinstall? I would hate to do that, but if it's the only option.

Live Messenger Keeps Crashing

Wlm keeps crashing even when i try running it, never mind logging on. Every time i click on it, it doesn't open, it just displays a message saying"windows live messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. " And you all know all the stuff it says after that. I tried restarting my pc, which is running windows xp sp3, if that helps. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the program, twice, and that still didn't help. If anyone could give me advice on how to fix this problem that would be great.

System Crashing / Unresponsive

Okay, so yesterday my computer just froze and went totally unresponsive, after waiting about half a minute it recovered from the crash and continued as normal until it crashed again, this happened several times. One of the crashes caused a bsod and i had to restart my computer, i decided to check the event viewer and i found that at the time of each crash a warning event was shown saying 'request to pd 4 is timeout. ' with the source being a motherboard driver 'mv61xx'. I believe mv61xx is a sata driver for my motherboard, for which there is only one driver available, i have tried reinstalling the driver but that didn't seem to solve the issue. I don't know what else to try, suggestions anyone?

Pc Will Not Shut Down And Explorer Crashing

Hey, so when i try to shut down my computer it just gets stuck on the shutting down screen and i have to switch it off by holding down the power button. I'm fairly sure this is because the system cannot end certain processes but i don't know which ones. At first i thought it was itunes because it wouldn't open but would start a process that wouldn't shut down. Then i got it uninstalled and it hasn't helped. Now the other problem, maybe related? When i right click on the desktop explorer crashes (not ie). It doesn't just shut off but stops responding. For some reason i can still use the taskbar and start menu (i thought that was part of explorer). And my computer is constantly running at 100% cpu usage. Its an hp laptop running windows 7 and has had windows on it for at least a couple months running fine.
