Trouble Seeing Particular Wireless Network

I upgraded an hp laptop from vista to windows 7. Now it will not "see" a wireless router in a government building but will see other routers and networks. I changed routers (apple to linksys dual band) and exactly the same thing, even changing from 2. 4 ghz to 5. 0 ghz because of possible cordless phone interference. Ll other portable computers can see the network but not this hp. And this hp sees other networks in the building. I upgraded the wireless adapter drive from broadcom but no change.

Totally perflexing to me. - This is a public forum so never post private information such as email or phone numbers!Ideas:programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem?

Sharing Wireless Network Between Win 7, Xp, Wireless Printer

I had no trouble sharing my wireless network when the desktop was xp and the laptop was xp. Since replacing the desktop with a new windows 7 unit, i cannot manage to set up a network. I just purchased a new wireless printer, and i cannot set it up wirelessly either. I can network the printer to work with the win7 desktop if i connect the printer to my router with a ethernet cable. My router sees all 3 devices and i can ping the printer and the laptop from the desktop. The desktop is connected to the router via ethernet cable.

Wireless Router, One Pc Will Not Network

I have new 4 hp desktops set up on a wireless network thru a westfall wireless router that have been in use for several months without using any of the windows 7 network - home/work group capabilities. I was asked to connect a hp wireless printer through the same router so all four pcs could print to the one printer. The printer set up was easy. However, all but one pc is able to network. I can map the other pcs and printer.

I can access the printer webpage and change printer preferences but i can not use the printer. When i am in the network settings, the full network map setting shows the other pcs and printer but when asked to show devices connected to the network it shows zero items. I have checked all firewall, internet and file sharing settings on all four pcs and they are the same. This is my first experience using windows 7. Is there another feature that would block sharing or networking access?

With my pc i located a local wireless site i had setup and tried to connect to it, with the automatic reconnect checked. There was an error (had the wrong mac address listed on my site for the pc) so i fixed it but now the list of available wireless sites does not include my site. I have 3 other computers that use my site so i know the site works. How do i get the windows 7 starter pc to see my wireless network again? Is there some sort of cache that needs to be cleared so it is viewable again?

Wireless Network Problems

I installed windows 7 today. Upgrade advisor told me to get my hands on a copy of my realtek rtl8187 wireless driver which i did. After installing everything, i had to install the driver. I was able to see networks, however when i try to connect to any router, after inserting the wep key it doesn't allow me to connect to the network. I have tried restarting the router, but that isnt the problem as the computer i am using now works fine. I have also tried any other drivers i can find.

Wireless Network Adapter Gone Missing

After resuming from a sleep, the network adapter disappeared. This happened before and they replaced the computer, after trying a system restore and then full recovery. Apparently, it's not the computer. The wireless adapter is missing from device manager, much less the network and connections area. In troubleshoot, the computer simply says a network cable needs to be plugged in. There is no wireless choice under network connections. There is no wireless adapter tab upon right click of network adapter in device manager.

The realtek wlan driver does appear in the programs & features list. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and also found/installed a patch for the driver. This did not work. I also started/automated the autoconfig scripts for wireless. Nothing works.

Wireless Network Adapter Compatibility

As stated matter above, i would to have a professional guidance on what should i do. First of all, i currently using the windows 7 which just installed on my acer aspire 4736z (laptop) about a month ago. My wireless connection to the belkin router previously work just fine until recently i decided to change to the new d-link dsl-2640t wireless router. The troubleshooting window kept on bugging me to reset the router. I followed all the instructions, but to no avail nothing changed.

I tried to download some of the wireless network drivers to replace the current wireless network adapter (atheros ar5b93 wireless network) but again nothing changed. Surprisingly, i did succeed to access the internet using the cat 5e ethernet cable which connected point-to-point from the wireless router to the laptop. So here, i suspected there is something wrong with the wireless network adapter.

All the downloaded folders failed to take effect on the current settings. The recommended solution by windows is either to reset network adapter or access point. Is it have anything to do with the compatibility of the wireless network adapter with the dsl-2640t wireless router or any other issues?

Macbook Does Not Detect Wireless Network

Window 7 installed on macbook - does not detect any wireless network/connection at all only on windows os system side. I have installed windows 7 on my new macbook, so my macbook operate both on apple macos and windows os. However, my windows os side does not detect any wireless network at all. When i switch back to apple os, there is no problem connecting to the internet and there is no connection problem at all.

But for some reason, my windows 7 does not detect or show any available wireless network. I use linksys wrt-110, and i don't think it is my router problem because it works perfectly on apple macos system. Does anybody have any solution? I am not very tech-savvy, i.e. , I need step-by-step explanation as to how to tackle this.

Network Wireless Router Problem

I am using a desktop and a laptop with windows 7 and i have a wireless router which had been running without problem. I tried to set up homegroups, so i could share the printer. It wouldn't allow that, saying that there was a problem with the network, but no hints on what the problem is. At some point windows 7 took over my router setup and made a network. I can't seem to control the network or make changes to it, and now the laptop won't connect to the network, because i don't know a password that was assigned at some point. How do i kill, revise, or control the network? The available menu's don't seem to address this.

Losing Wireless Network Connection

Running w7 home prem 32bit isp cable high speed, home network configuration. Service to cable modem to router. More often than not when i power on my wireless laptop i am not connected to my network. Windows shows networks are available, i see y network. And it shows good excellent signal levels, i run the windows diagnostics and it reads, power off router and and power back on and following this process the wireless latop gets connected to my network.

I have changed out the router, the issue continued. I have checked for updated network card driver, i have the latest available. Once connected i never loose the connection. And i would guess i have checked for firmware updates for router, none are available. I connect 3 out of 5 times when i power on the laptop. The network is wpa-psk with a security phrase set. Suggestions to resolve this issue?

Blue Screen When Connecting To Wireless Network

My computer crashes and shows a bsod very often. The thing is that happens usually when i'm connected to a wireless network in my office. I thought it was some problem with the office wireless network, but then it happened with the network of a hotel i was staying in some time ago. And those are the only situations when it happens. At home it works just fine, without any problems. What should i do?

Wireless Network Automatic Connect But Does Not Stick

Windows 7 home premium (x86) user is running as administrator. Mcafee a/v corporate is installed.
In wireless properties, connection tab, the top box is checked (connect automatically when this network is in range) and the box to "connect even if this network is not broadcasting its name (ssi)" also is checked. I have checked these boxes manually and also had the network "troubleshooter" fix the problem of not automatically connecting. As soon as the top box is checked and ok is clicked, the connection to the wireless network is made. However, on the next reboot, both boxes are unchecked and the user must connect to the network manually. What is unchecking the boxes and how can i stop this from happening?

We've been using wireless internet for our laptop for approximately 7 or 8 months without any problem. In the past week or so, internet connection has become intermittent, becoming worse and worse. Wireless / Network Adapters Not Showing Up In Ipconfig

My network adapters worked perfectly for 30 days and then stopped after a failed attempt to install avg 2010. Currently i can not connect to the internet through either my atheros wifi adapter nor my realtek network adapter. Both show as working properly in the device manager screens, but i get the "limited connectivity" message for the wireless connection. When i run ipconfig / all the network adapters are not listed. I have uninstalled/reinstalled them and have updated the software from the manufacturer. I have attempted a system restore to a date before the aborted avg 2010 attempt which did not help. I am running windows 7 on a hp pavilion dv7

Wireless card: atheros ar5009
Driver version: 8. 0. 0. 171
Realtek pcie gbe family controller
Driver: 7. 3. 522. 2009

User Cannot Connect To Wireless Network But Admin Can

I'm running windows 7 home premium. When i logon as an administrator, every-thing's fine - connects to wireless network, internet, all's well. But when i logon as a regular user, it is unable to connect to the wireless network. (When i run the networking troubleshooter - again, as regular user - it complains that no ethernet cable is attached. Seems way off base for a wireless issue. ) Do you know how to fix this problem (other than making the user an administrator, which i don't want to do)?

Setup Wireless Print Server Network With Linksys

How to set up a wireless print server network with linksys print server, to serve 64 bit win7 computer to print to 2 xp machines and the 64 bit win 7 machine. (There are no 64 bit drivers for the server). I have a win xp pro desktop & an eeepc netbook, both printing to a linksys wireless print server on to a canon i560 printer. Both xp machines are 32 bit & print directly to the wireless server. It is not yet a network printer.

I now  have a 64 bit win7 notebook. There are no 64 bit drivers for the linksys print server. It appears that linksys does not intend to ever provide 64 bit drivers for this. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to get the 64 bit notebook to print to the print server through the xp (host) desktop and how to do that? Or should i just discard the linksys print server and buy a more suitable product?

Wireless And Lan Network Adapter Icon Disappeared

I have an acer aspire 8920g running windows 7 ultimate having updated frm windows vista 32-bit. My problem is that for some reason my network adapters, both wireless and the lan ports don't show up in the area they used to, and also both of the drivers i had in my network adapter section in the device manger had a yellow question mark over them which means the device is not working properly because windows cant load the required driver.

This meant i couldn't load the internet, through using another pc i managed to reinstall and update one of my devices/drivers (intel wireless wifi link 4695agn) but my other one (atheros ar8121/ar8113/ar8114 pci-e ethernet controller) hasn't stopped having this error (code 31 error) even though ive downloaded the latest drivers from the atheros website which means i still cannot use my lan ports. Does anyone have any idea what may have happened?
