Laptop Does Not Connect To Printer Connected To Wireless Router

Windows 7 wireless laptop does not connect to printer connected to netgear wireless router the printer must be restarted every time i want to print from the wireless windows 7 laptop (through the use of the printer on/off switch. ) The hp 2820 mfp printer has a network card and is connected to the netgear dgn2000 router. I have used the built-in troubleshooting devices from the windows control panel but the problem continues. (Note the laptop was upgraded from vista and the printer worked ok. Also the router was upgraded from an old 2-wire router that died. So, unfortunately i have two variables).

Unable To Connect To Wireless Router

I just purchased an hp mini with w 7 starter two months ago. Until yesterday i have been able to connect to my actiontec m1424wr router. After running win network diagnostics it says there is a "problem with the driver for the wireless network adapter". I can't get online to help and support for further diagnostics because i can't connect to the internet(catch 22). The taskbar shows my router is available with "limited access". I also have a dell laptop w/ xp and have never had a problem connecting. I have performed some of the ideas from one of the threads on this forum including the shutdown of the netbook and router and then powering them back up. I am not real tech savvy but really need some help with this.

Wireless Connected To A Domain For Multiple Users On The Same Laptop

I am in a hospital setting. We have several wireless laptops where users will need to connect to the wireless network and be able to login to active directory. I have found a way to do this for a single user on the laptop but these laptops are used by multiple users. Windows 7 will use one users domain credentials to connect to the wireless network and also login to the domain, but it will not do this for any other users that use the laptop. It appears that it will only remember one users credentials. I assume this is by design but i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do this for multiple users on the same laptop. I know i could create a single service account to accomplish this but we prefer not to do this for security reasons.

Any other suggestions?

Wireless Router, One Pc Will Not Network

I have new 4 hp desktops set up on a wireless network thru a westfall wireless router that have been in use for several months without using any of the windows 7 network - home/work group capabilities. I was asked to connect a†hp wireless printer through the same router so all four pcs could print to the one printer. The printer set up was easy. However, all but one pc is able to network. I can map the other pcs and printer.

I can access the printer webpage and change printer preferences but i can not use the printer. When i am in the network settings, the full network map setting shows the other pcs and printer but when asked to show devices connected to the network it shows zero items. I have checked all firewall, internet and file sharing settings on all four pcs and they are the same. This is my first experience using windows 7. Is there another feature that would block sharing or networking access?

Netgear Wireless Router Problem

I recently upgraded my hp desktop computer from windows xp to windows 7. For the past 4 years my access of my desktop and my wife'slaptop computer is as follows:†the internet cable is hooked to a "netgear wireless-n wnr1000 v2" which is hooked to a arris model tm02g modem, which is then hooked to my hp desktop computer. With windows xp both my my desktop and my wife's laptop could receive the internet. Now my wife's can receive the internet with this arrangement but my desktop cannot. When i connect the internet cable directly to the arris modem-thus eliminating the natgear wireless router-i can receive the internet on my desktop but my wife cannot on her laptop. Sometimes i receive a message that there is an additional computer with the same address as mine on the network.

Network Wireless Router Problem

I am using a desktop and a laptop with windows 7 and i have a wireless router which had been running without problem. I tried to set up homegroups, so i could share the printer. It wouldn't allow that, saying that there was a problem with the network, but no hints on what the problem is. At some point windows 7 took over my router setup and made a network. I can't seem to control the network or make changes to it, and now the laptop won't connect to the network, because i don't†know a password that was assigned at some point. How do i kill, revise, or control the network?†The available menu's don't seem to address this.

Setting Wireless Router Security Setting Have Changed

I have two selections possible. 'set up a new connection or network' wizard, or†'connect to a network' (manually)†in windows 7. I know how to install hardware but my problem is, the security setting have been changed, and these changes i am trying to make in the configuration are not possible. The different permutations on offer do not provide the correct selection for me. e.g. I want to key in wpa + wpa2 i can only have one of them. Authentication and data encryption have same problem. You cannot key in the info manually.

Connect Laptop To Wifi And Lan Simultaneously

Win 7 laptop connects to either internet via wifi or network drive via lan but not both simultaneously. Trying to map a network drive from a win 7 laptop and browse the internet at the same time but can't. Fter switching from verizon dsl to fios at the office. Can no longer access the network drive through my ethernet lan while using the internet. I can do either one or the other but not both at the same time. If i toggle between the ipv4 or ipv6 settings on the pci controller for the lan, i can map the network drive and then lose the connection to the internet.

Here's what i mean: properties of the pci-e fast etnernet ctrlripv4=enabled + ipv6=disbaled = mapped network drive - internet connection ipv6=enabled + ipv4=disabled = internet connection - mapped network drive. Any ideas on how i can have both a mapped network drive and access to internet would be appreciated.

Wireless Network Automatic Connect But Does Not Stick

Windows 7 home premium (x86) user is running as administrator. Mcafee a/v corporate is installed.
In wireless properties, connection tab, the top box is checked (connect automatically when this network is in range) and the box to "connect even if this network is not broadcasting its name (ssi)" also is checked. I have checked these boxes manually and also had the network "troubleshooter" fix the problem of not automatically connecting. As soon as the top box is checked and ok is clicked, the connection to the wireless network is made. However, on the next reboot, both boxes are unchecked and the user must connect to the network manually. What is unchecking the boxes and how can i stop this from happening?

User Cannot Connect To Wireless Network But Admin Can

I'm running windows 7 home premium. When i logon as an administrator, every-thing's fine - connects to wireless network, internet, all's well. But when i logon as a regular user, it is unable to connect to the wireless network. (When i run the networking troubleshooter - again, as regular user - it complains that no ethernet cable is attached. Seems way off base for a wireless issue. ) Do you know how to fix this problem (other than making the user an administrator, which i don't want to do)?

Belkin F5d8053 N Usb Wireless Adapter Cannot Connect

It would seem that plenty of people on the forums have had similar problems to mine but no real solutions are forthcoming, so i thought i may as well put my problem up in case the specifics make it easily solvable. Bear with me cos i've tried a lot of things and i don't want to leave anything out incase it's useful. Ok, i got a new laptop recently and wanted to transfer my music collection from my desktop to the laptop.

At this time both machines were connecting to the network properly, i was using a belkin usb g wireless adapter and windows 7 ultimate x64 in the desktop, and the inbuilt wireless with windows 7 home premium x64 on the laptop. I tried to do this through homegroups and for some reason the laptop couldn't join or even see the homegroup, so i ended up connecting the hard drive from the laptop directly to the desktop via sata cable. When i put the hard drives back the way they were originally after the transfer was complete, the wireless on my desktop had stopped working.

In the adapter settings panel, the wireless connection was set to disabled and whenever i tried to enable it, a box came up saying "enabling" followed by "enabled" but the main icon in the panel would still say disabled and the network wizard would say "not connected". To eliminate hardware malfunction as a cause, i tried disabling the integrated wireless on the laptop and using the usb adapter from the desktop to connect to the internet. This worked better than it ever had in the desktop. I tried updating the drivers in various compatibility modes and removing every trace of belkin software from the computer to start again, but to no avail. In the end i bought a new usb adapter, the 802. 11n adapter in the subject line (i needed an upgrade anyway as the router is two floors below the computer).

This worked better in the desktop, allowing the wireless connection to enable, but still not seeing any wireless networks in the area (of which there are around 6). After much uninstalling, reinstalling, updating, rolling back, shouting and pleading, the adapter finally started picking up the wireless networks for the area, including mine. Unfortunately that is all it would do - it refused to connect. All the while, the laptop has been able to make a strong connection with the router. I have tried going into the routers firmware from the desktop but inexplicably while the networking wizard can see the wireless network, the computer cannot get through to the router.

A wired connection works, however having the router and computer in the same room permanently is impossible due to the position of the cable entry point in my house. Removing the router security does not work. Resetting the router and rebuilding the network connection does not work. Threats do not work. I was hoping that somebody would have a suggestion as to why this is happening and what can be done.
