Problem: No Wireless Connections Available

I have just changed from vista home to windows 7 professional on my laptop. The laptop will access the internet with a wired connection only. It now indicates there are no wireless networks to join even though my is one of 50 in the area. I asked windows to diagnose the problem but it has no suggestions.

No Network Connections

I just upgraded a laptop running vista home premium 64 to windows 7 and now that laptop has lost all ability to connect to any networks, wireless and wired. I've tried a different router and a modem to no avail. The laptop is able to detect the wireless network, how ever it keeps trying to reconfigure it, which is not what i intend to do, how is it possible for me to solve this problem without doing so?

Oh, and one of the error messages that i get is the infamous "wireless network adapter does not have a valid ip config". Anyone else find microsoft should stop suggesting to search for solutions online or through remote access when you can't connect to the internet?

Manage Network Connections

In windows vista, when i wanted to troubleshoot connectivity issues, i would go to network and sharing center, under tasks i would go to "manage network connections". Not "manage wireless network connections"; just manage network connections. I do not have that option under tasks in windows 7. It is very frustrating. I do "helpdesk" for a local isp and often when they have both wireless and cable connection available, i will have them disable which ever one they are not using. That is just one example of an instance in needing to manage network connections, not just wireless network connections. How is this accomplished with windows 7?

Losing Network Connections

I have a home network with a pc (windows xp), a windows home server, an imac, and a macbook pro, i recently added a pc with windows 7 64-bit. When the windows 7 pc starts, it discover all machines in the network, and i am able to access all the share files and folders in every machine, in other words everything works like is supposed to work.

After maybe 30 minutes or more i loose connection of the xp machine and apple machines from the window 7 pc, the network computers are still there, but i can not access the files, i have to do a restart to fix it. In the midtime when this happens if i go to the router settings page everything is fine, and from the others computers i can see and access the windows 7 files. Why is this happening. Does tcp/ipv6 has to be enable?

How Win 7 Manages Network Connections?

I have a question about how windows 7 manages network connections. I use my pc at work and at home. When at home, i only use a wireless connection, so i don't have any issues there. T work, i use both wired and wireless connections. By default, it appears as though windows 7 activates both adapters. Is there a way to configure the network connections so that if i'm docked, it uses the wired connection and turns off the wireless connection and when i undock, it switches to using the wireless network i have configured?

Wireless Mouse

I am having trouble with my recently purchased 'targus' wireless mouse. It was fine till now, but all of a sudden i heard a beep from my laptop (similar one which comes when you plug/unplug something to a usb drive) and it just doesn't work anymore! No lights on the usb receiver which comes along with the mouse anymore!I remember the following things:1. I had installed updates from windows yesterday (but after that as well for couple of hours today it was fine)2. I got an alert for battery level and soon after i plugged in the power source i got the beep and mouse went dead in some moments. These may be irrelevant, but could anyone please help?

Wireless Printing

I have a new hp laptop connected to an hp ps1315 printer and another new hp laptop (both with windows 7) connected through a wireless network. I have been able to print wirelessly for a couple of months, but all of a sudden, the printer shows "offline" on the wireless laptop, but "online" on the connected laptop. Restarting everything seemed to work the first time this occurred, but will not work now. Is there a way to set the wireless laptop to "printer online"?

Wireless Router, One Pc Will Not Network

I have new 4 hp desktops set up on a wireless network thru a westfall wireless router that have been in use for several months without using any of the windows 7 network - home/work group capabilities. I was asked to connect a hp wireless printer through the same router so all four pcs could print to the one printer. The printer set up was easy. However, all but one pc is able to network. I can map the other pcs and printer.

I can access the printer webpage and change printer preferences but i can not use the printer. When i am in the network settings, the full network map setting shows the other pcs and printer but when asked to show devices connected to the network it shows zero items. I have checked all firewall, internet and file sharing settings on all four pcs and they are the same. This is my first experience using windows 7. Is there another feature that would block sharing or networking access?

Linksys Wireless Wusb54g V.4

I have windows 7 x64 and according to the compatibility chart, this device is "compatible" logo and all. Unfortunately i live in the real world, and this device is not compatible. I have been using the rt2500usb. Inf/.sys files for my device but it is a downward spiral. The device will work for a while (day or so) in usb port a, then starts disconnecting/reconnecting randomly.

Later it will start dc/rc hourly, then about 10 mins, then it gets to the point where all i hear is the dc/rc dings as spam from my pc. This device also effects other devices that are on usb the same way. In other words port b will do the dc/rc which is my external hdd instead of my wireless card. I'm really not looking forward to buying yet another card for this pc, as this one is not returnable.

Where it does work: ubuntu 9. 10 runs this device as a rt2750 instead of the rt2500 i currently have drivers for. Windows 7 x86 runs this device without fail.

Wireless Mouse Does Not Work

I have a microsoft wireless comfort keyboard 4000 and a microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000. All of a sudden the mouse stopped working. I can see the cursor arrow on the screen but my mouse wont move it. My operating system is vista 64-bit. I have gone through all the diagnostic steps to no avail: replaced the batteries, downloaded the latest software from microsoft, changed usb ports, tried another computer and checked my device manager. The device manager tells me the mouse is working properly. It may be that the mouse is dead but i though before the burial that i would take a chance to see if anyone out there had a similar problem but solved it.

Wireless Printer Not Connecting

I have installed a wireless printer on my computer. I am able to connect the usb cord from my printer to my computer, and print just fine, but when i try to print wirelessly, my computer pops up a message saying that the communication could not be accessed. It gives suggestions on how to fix the problem, which i have done all of except for 1. It says to check the firewall to see if it allows the computer to read the printer. But i don't know how to find the printer option in my firewall section. How do i get my wireless to work on my computer?

Wireless Transceiver V2.0 Driver

I run microsoft windows 7 64bit, i bought the microsoft wireless desktop 6000, the cd says that it will not install because it's not compatible to windows 7, microsoft.com/hardware provides intellitype and intellipoint for windows 7. I downloaded both and installed them. I inserted the transceiver to the usb port and i have automatic search for drivers turned on. Windows 7 cannot find a driver for the transceiver and neither can the automate online search.

Additional information. It's a v2 and windows 7 detects it as a v1. I tried to uninstall with driver and update again but it is still detected as a v1. If anyone could even tell me where to get the v2 driver i'd be happy because i could do the rest from there.

My question: where the bloody is microsoft hiding the driver for this thing?

Trouble Seeing Particular Wireless Network

I upgraded an hp laptop from vista to windows 7. Now it will not "see" a wireless router in a government building but will see other routers and networks. I changed routers (apple to linksys dual band) and exactly the same thing, even changing from 2. 4 ghz to 5. 0 ghz because of possible cordless phone interference. Ll other portable computers can see the network but not this hp. And this hp sees other networks in the building. I upgraded the wireless adapter drive from broadcom but no change.

Totally perflexing to me. - This is a public forum so never post private information such as email or phone numbers!Ideas:programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem?

Wireless Connection Lost

I have a wireless connection for the internet set-up to my neighbors house and although my pc says there's a good signal between us, i often lose my internet connection, especially when microsoft have downloaded an update. I am sure the fault is somewhere in my own pc. When it does happen, i have to use system restore every time to re-establish the internet link. The fault number which appears is: 80072ee7, i being a silver surfer have no idea what that means or what to do about it.

Connecting To Home Wireless

I'll try to describe this as simply as possible. I cannot connect to my home's wireless. I can connect to my neighbors (not password protected) and my church's (password protected) networks, and begin to connect to my neighbors password protected wireless networks. My home's internet is up and running; there are multiple machines using it right now, including 3 laptops, a computer and a ps3. As i am running windows 7 on my macbook pro through bootcamp (3. 1), i can even boot into mac osx and i will be connected. The problem is this operating system, which i installed yesterday.

I think i messed up when i chose "public" network instead of "home" or "private" network during the installation. I think i've tried everything and any help is greatly appreciated. The message i get when i try to connect is essentially "windows was unable to connect to this network" note that this does happen with a few other networks around the area.

Cannot Use Wireless Internet On Macbook

Cannot use wireless internet on my macbook when running windows 7 through boot camp. I have no problems at all when i use the same laptop to connect to the internet wirelessly using the mac os x operating system. My older laptop running windows xp also has no problem connecting. I've tried going to the control panel, then network and sharing center, then connect to a network, and it shows that no connections are available.

When i click on change adapter settings, only two options are shown: the bluetooth network connection, which is not connected, and the local area connection, which would be the wired connection because it says the network cable is unplugged. My router does not have a bluetooth connection. I made sure all the drivers were installed.

Wireless Capability Turned Off

I was trying to connect to my work's wireless network which has some security i have to get to. I was trying to speed it up by checking the properties of that connection (right-click on the network name, clicked status). There was a button with the administrator logo on it labeled disable, and i accidentally clicked it. I was able to turn the wireless adapter on again, but no networks show up (there were at least five before).

When i hover over the icon in the system tray, it says no connections are available. When i troubleshoot, the only error it has is that it says wireless capability turned off and i can't find where to turn it back on. I'm using an asus notebook with windows 7 home premium installed.

Wireless Problem Ip Conflict

I have a lap top ( gateway - windows7 ) and i connect to the internet via wireless. The problem is that the connection is really unstable, it drops like every single minute!

A message popped up saying that this computer has an ip conflict, that it has the same ip as another computer. Maybe that's the problem?

This connection is really driving me crazy, can someone help me out? The funny thing is that if i connect to others wireless connections, like in school for example, it works without any problem, without a single drop!

Wireless Antenna Disabled

I have a new computer with licensed windows 7. Wifi was working fine until last night when windows automatic updates installed. This morning i cannot use wifi - it says the wireless antenna has been disabled. It also did something to my licensed kaspersky internet virus protection, but i got that recovered. I have tried system restore etc and a few other suggested fixes but nothing works. How does one enable the wireless antenna? This is really a problem coz i'm working on a short term assignment in vietnam and am losing a lot of time trying to fix this.
