Admin Account Is Gone / Password Issue

I am having this huge problem with a computer the guest account is the only one i can access. It has no administrator account the computer is a dell inspiron one. It has the built in recovery repair on it, but when i try that it has no admin account to type the password in please help me with this as i am on a limited time frame, and i am not really familiar with computers.

Also, it wont load in safe mode, i have already tried that

I can't understand that indian lady from dell and she keeps telling me to contact microsoft but they try to charge, just to look at it. I'm pretty sure that there is not an admin account on this computer. When i try to run something as administrator, the user account control screen pops up and says "to continue, type administrator password then click ok. " But here is the catch, there is not a box to enter the password could there be a setting that someone could have changed that doesn't allow the guest to type this in? I can pick up on computer knowledge quick if someone could explain this.

Lost Admin Account

I had changed my login to automatic. After that i managed to install still programs. But when i started windows again, it didn't let me to change settings which demand admin rights. I'm now a guest and there isn't any other accounts. When i try to make changes in uac, for example, it demands to log in as admin and "then press yes", but there is no fields to log in and "yes"-button is gray. Is there any chance to get admin back without reconfiguration with windows cds. I also tried to recover the system but it demands, of course, admin rights.

Admin Account Problem With Permission

So in the control panel it says i have an admin account. But it's still telling me sometimes when i try to access files that i need admin permission. I'm also having this annoyance with office 2003 where i have to agree to the eula again every time i open it, and when i googled the problem, it says this happens if you're not on an administrator account. I'm having a similar problem with another program too, getting errors caused by running programs as if i'm not on an admin account. What's going on? How do i fix this? I am the only account on this computer and it does say i'm an administrator, so i'm pretty baffled.

Problem Admin Password

One day, my friend decided that he would look at some "bad" videos (just as a joke) on my computer. I immediately shut down my computer. When i turned it back on, the administrator account had a password on it (with a password hint of: support) and my non administrative account was set with time restrictions, etc. Etc. It is my own computer and i cant even install any programs or play any "m" rated games on it (halo). My computer is totally useless right now. Is there anyway to get the password back, so that i can go back to my normal business?

Reset Back To Admin Account In Xp Mode

I have set the admin acct to limited user in xp mode, is there a way to reset to admin? I set the xp mode user to limited for security reasons, only to realize later that it was the admin account that i had changed. As a limited user i can't run my xp software because it requires the user to be a power user or administrator. I'm looking for a way to get an admin acct back in xp mode. Or, if i need to reinstall xp mode how can i save my data? I would need a fairly detailed explanation as i am new to windows 7.

Can Log Into Admin Account But Not In Limited User

I shut my computer down two weeks ago before i left on a week long work trip. When i returned windows starts up normally except that i couldn't log in to any account. It would just hang at the screen with the spinning circle. I eventually was able to log in in safe mode, and used the fix from prevx.com and now i can log onto my admin account but not my limited account. Also even in my admin account only starcraft 2 works. Every other program i have installed takes ten minutes or more to start up, if they do, and most freeze the first time i click on any menu. For example i tried clicking save as on an open office document and it was hanging for over two hours. Internet explorer, firefox, and chrome don't load at all, while open office and msoffice both load and freeze.

Resetting Password On Account

One day, i wanted to change the password on my account, the admin account by the way, and you need the password you are already using, so i tried it and it didn't work, so i shut down my computer, and turned it back on, and i couldn't log into the admin account, and the other account has parental controls on it, so i couldn't do just about anything on that one without the admin password. So anyway, i tried to change it and it told me i needed a floppy disk or a usb flash drive, and i don't have the disc to reset it so what do i do from there? How do i get the disc?  All i want to do is log on that account.

Cannot Delete Account - Password Problem

Okay, well i've got this user account on my computer that really is messed up. You see, it says it has a password when i never put one on it. And when i go to the "remove password" all i have to do is hit enter for my password. Then when i go back to the main control panel window and select user accounts again, it says that that account still has a password on it. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that because of this, when i put my computer to sleep, and i wake it up again, i try to log in, well i can't. It says "you account has been disabled".

That isn't that half of it (well maybe it is :x). When i finally got tired of dealing with this account, i made a new one and decided to delete the other one (the one that is f**ked up). When i go to "user accounts" and select "add or remove user accounts" the account i want to delete isn't there. So, this ties me back to the question. How can i delete this d**ned thing?

Prevent People From Changing Account Type / Password

How do i prevent people from changing my account type and password? I want to delete parental controls completely from the registry and system so i can make someone an administrator but i don't want them to put parental controls on my account. I also want to prevent them from changing anyones password or account type. So how do i do this and i tried to disable the parental controls service but they still did it and i had to restore the system. Or is there some kind of way that i can give them more privileges like downloading or installing stuff etc. Without making them an administrator?

Problem: User Account Control - No Place To Enter The Password

While trying to load a game for my granddaughter i couldn't get autoplay to work so i switched to admin user and tried loading the program there but was unsuccessful. So i thought i'd go back and delete the admin acct. Which i did. I then tried to load the game again but couldn't. Now when i go to "add or manage user account" i get a uac window stating the following: to continue, type an administrator password, and then click yes". The problem is there is no administrator acct and no place in the window to enter a password. Yes is currently grayed out, no is available. How do i get rid of this request window. I deleted the administrator account while in the "safe" mode per some other questions in this forum.

How Do I Install Programs As Admin ?

How do i install as admin? I tried installing a software but it says i cannot install because i don't have enough privileged and must be logged in as admin. Now i know when i used vista this was easy because all i had to do was right click the install file and then run as admin and then i'd have enough privileges and could install the program. However now when i use it it's a different story. When i right click the installation item there is nothing.

Admin Problem - I Am The Only User On The Pc

I installed windows 7 ultimate 32bit version and then decided to go with the 64bit instead. So i made a full install of win 7 64bit but i am getting admin problems. I am the only user on this pc and live alone. I see 2 users when i boot up and one of them lets me install only certain programs. I also noticed that when i open control panel i am not able to open certain areas. I click on the link and it will not open. From what i see here is my set up is messed up. I want to reinstall win 7 and know what i need to do if i want only one user. I want to see win 7 boot up and go straight into the program without asking me who is the user. I am willing to reinstall the program if it will help solve the problem.

Uac / Admin Problem

I was setting up my mothers laptop because she ones again got a virus on it. So i was putting parental controls so she couldn't use is as an admin. I mad her a standard user i thought i'd be nice and hide the admin acct. By disabling the administrator via cmd.exe "net user administrator /active:no". Now i want to install some additional programs and i cannot enable the administrator login because the uac settings do not allow me to turn the admin on.

In the command prompt, it says "type administrator password and then click yes. " But when i type the password the "yes" button remains gray and i cannot click it, so it does not allow me to login as admin, so i'm stuck only able to login as a user, but not the admin. I know my admin password buti still can't log in as the admin.

User Cannot Connect To Wireless Network But Admin Can

I'm running windows 7 home premium. When i logon as an administrator, every-thing's fine - connects to wireless network, internet, all's well. But when i logon as a regular user, it is unable to connect to the wireless network. (When i run the networking troubleshooter - again, as regular user - it complains that no ethernet cable is attached. Seems way off base for a wireless issue. ) Do you know how to fix this problem (other than making the user an administrator, which i don't want to do)?

Error - Admin Policy Is Set To Not Allow To Install .msi Programs

Can't install programs (. Msi?), And the error message says that it's because the admin policy is set to not allow it. But i'm the admin, i've recently installed windows 7, and, as the title says, there are some programs i can't install. What i've noticed is that they are "msi" files (i think) - don't know if this means anything or not. I get an error message (red "x") that says that the system admin doesn't allow such a file to be installed, but i'm the sys admin. I took a gander at the admin tools (control panel), but i don't understand most of what's there.

Admin Error: Trusted Installer Denying Access To Files

Cab anybody help me please, firstly am not technical minded at all i have a toshiba satellite l300 with windows 7 ultimate on but i have problems of not being able to access half the stuff on the stupid thing. I get messages like access is denied + i need "permission" of a "trusted installer" to access this file and its really beginning to irritate me. Surely as the only person with an account to this laptop i should have unrestricted access to it all.

Also as stated there is only me with an account but say the laptop goes to sleep when i wake it it offers me the chance to switch user? Another thing is i seem to have a lot of error, s and warning in the system performance i would be very grateful if someone could help me clear this up.

User Account Name

I just installed win 7 home premium from using the win 7 ultimate rc. I backed up my files on the old system where the user name was "old". When i installed win 7 home premium i named it "new". Now when i restored my data, under the "users" folder the restore program created a folder "old" with all of my data there. How do i set my system up so that all of my data is under the "new" user account, or at least tell my system to look in the "old" user folder?

Administrative Account

So i've had the rc for a few days now, and as i was uninstalling a program so that i could get a clean install with it, windows 7 is refusing to let me delete the folder and files that have been left over from the uninstall, i'm receiving the error message "you need permission to perform this action. You require permission from administrators to make changes to this folder. Try again cancel" now i'm set up as the administrator and i can pretty well change anything and everything else. I just thought i would bring this to your attention.

User Account Control

I recently had a new hard drive installed on on my dell xps computer. Prior to having the new hard drive installed i had no problem with the vista home premium running in 64 bit mode. Since having the new hard drive installed i have had a number of issues, first whenever i try to download files from the internet it will not let me also i cannot view videos via ie8 "you tube, msnbc, etc). I have found that whenever i turnoff user account control (uac) everything works just fine.

Is there a way i can have uac turned on and still have everything work? Or do i really need uac turned on. My guess is that who ever reinstalled the system on my computer did something that makes them the primary account, although it shows that i am the only account and the administrator. I have tried correcting this issue via advanced tools in ie8 with no luck.
