Cannot End Process On Gaming Programs

I recently installed windows 7, and previously used windows xp. I play a game called asda story, currently floundering between beta and live. My problem is that when it bugs out and freezes, and i go to desktop to shut down the program, in windows xp i hit end process and it shut it down immediately. In windows 7 it says "cannot end process" and won't shut down the program. It won't shut it down from either programs or process tabs in the task manager. This has also happened occasionally in fallout 3 when that game freezes up. I bring up task manager and it won't let me shut down the game. No matter what the process is, if i hit "end process" it should end the process. Why doesn't this work in windows 7 sometimes?

Cannot End Sync Partnership

I can't delete a partnership in windows 7 sych center for a network share and it keeps trying to sync no matter what i do. Trying to end/delete the partnership from sych center itself shows no option to do so. I do get an option from windows explorer to "delete" it, but this doesn't appear to do anything. Disabling  offline files, rebooting and restarting offline files, just causes windows to continue to sync. The only article i found was here. Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

Office 2003 Issue - Microsoft Office End User License Agreement

Windows 7 pro, get "microsoft office end-user license agreement. " From office 2003 programs. I purchased a new hp computer with windows 7 pro, then loaded all of the software i'd been using on my old xp system. Every time i start any office 2003 app, i get a dialog box labeled "microsoft office end-user license agreement. " I must click on "accept" before continuing. I use an old vista solution of 'running as admin' and now i receive a box asking if it is alright to modify this program(registry i think). How can i stop this box from appearing?

Starting Gaming Program

I am having trouble with one of my gaming programs. I try to start it and it stops and says that buckingham.exe has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I have tried to get it to work on other versions of windows but it will not. When i bought the program, it said on the package that it operates on windows vista, xp, 2000, ect. I have other programs that say the same thing and they operate just fine. What can i do?

Gaming Computer Problem

I got a brand new pc and it doesn't seem to be able to run advanced games. Weaker games it can. I have 3 games that don't work and they are battle-stations: pacific, call of duty: world at war and call of duty: modern warfare 2(modern warfare 2 was from a special promotion from steam, they were giving free multi-player for the weekend) when i run an advanced one, after a few seconds or minutes of game-play, the screen goes black and the sound goes "taaaaaaaaaaah" and the computer shuts down.

I have windows 7 home premium 64-bit and these games are compatible. There could be many reasons, maybe its direct x 9, power supply too low (i have 700 watt), incompatibility with something, overheating of graphics card or something else. I tried installing new drivers and updating directx, but nothing works.

Mouse / Cursor Frozen In Gaming

I have windows 7 build 7100 installed on my new pc. I have installed 6 games, 2 work fine and 4 do not. The problem with the ones that do not is that after installation, when you go to the main load menu, the cursor is frozen in one place but the action still works even though you can not see where it is pointing. I am able to dual boot my pc between 7 x64 / vista x64 / and xp x86.

When i load the games in vista and xp they work fine. All drivers are up to date and they are the same version on all platforms. I also just loaded windows 7 enterprise edition and i am still having the same problem. So far both ati and the game manufactures are not helping and saying this is a windows 7 problem. Here are my specs, anyone have any ideas?

Tweak Win 7 64-bit For Gaming

Ive read over and done most of the basics such as shutting off visuals, deleting unwanted programs, minimizing start up programs ect. I was wondering if there was a place i could see what can be turned off as far as processes and services, if there was a free reg edit i could download and where. I built this computer a few months ago, only installed one mmo so far, and has been running great. But suddenly over the last few days ive been getting some bad lag, fps has gone way down. Im not running anything else that i hadn't been already, and ive completed several disk cleanups. Ideas?

Ati Radeon Hd 5970 - Win7 Crashes When Gaming

Windows 7 64bit crashes when gaming, seemingly to ati's drivers fault.

I bought a new computer with this specs:- core: i7 2'67ghz- ram: 12gb ddr3- video: ati radeon hd 5970- mb: asus rampage 3 extreme and, after hesitating about its possible incompatibilities with some software, i decided to install windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Installed all drivers, everything seems to work smooth. Ati drivers were downloaded first from their website so i have the newest ones.

I installed my cod modern warfare 2 game (and after this, last version of directx) to try my new machine and oops. Game loads ok, mission starts ok (so i get to play it for a few seconds) but then all of a suddens the screen goes black and lots of vertical lines appear. It keeps frozen like that for like 10 seconds and then reboot.

Sidewinder Dual Strike Gaming Controller Compatibility

Can anybody please tell me if there is any progress made with regard to windows 7 compatibility of the dual strike and its associated sidewinder software. I had it working fine in windowsxp - even with sp3 installed ! I have seen  the previous answer to this question which frankly - is sadly incorrect. Although the dual strike - (being a usb device) - does install automatically (sort of ) in windows 7 - it is not recognized when games are opened. I can not assign any of the buttons to actions from within the game set up menu (dark void game as a good example) that is to say - it doesn't work.

Furthermore - sure i can install the sidewinder software in compatibility mode - but thats where it ends. When i try to open sidewinder central to assign keystrokes to buttons - i get a message saying " there was a problem that may be due to low system resources - try closing other programs and try again. " Then when i try and close sidewinder - i get another message saying " windows host process (rundll32 ) has stopped working.

Now obviously a programmable games controller that -  a. Games do not recognize and b. You cannot programme the keys - is sort of redundant isn't it. I'm afraid changing the compatibly settings either manually or using the troubleshooter has absolutely no effect. Does anybody have a solution?

G5 Gaming Mouse / Usb Random Power Failures

Ok, after months of searching for answers as to why my g5 dies randomly i thought i'd beat my head against the wall some more here with the faintest glimmer of hope i might have overlooked a possible solution. People are already thinking, why am i posting about a logitech device here? Simply because i dont believe there is anything wrong with the mouse or the logitech drivers and i'm looking for a nasty, evil, evil culprit within windows. I love this mouse and it may sound dumb, but from a gamers point of view - upgrading to a newer model/diff brand mouse is not a solution. This is "the mouse" for me.

This device worked perfectly till i upgraded to windows 7, i have had it a few years and a very similar model for years prior to it. I have faith in it and it's durability. What i experience is difficult to explain but have seen it described often elsewhere. At times that seem completely random, the usb power to the mouse fails. Then, after anything from 0. 1s to 30s it returns. Some days this happens once, other days, like today - it will occur every 15s whilst in game and the machine is under stress. I've attempted switching usb ports, updated drivers for the mouse, chipset, tweeked power suspend settings and nothing has helped.

I have tested another bottom of the line logitech mouse, not a problem at all. I've tested the g5 on xp os machine, no issues. I'm not sure what has happened but until a few months ago, even with win7 installed the g5 worked perfectly. I believe an update i picked up somewhere along the way seems to have done something to cause the problem. Unfortunately though, i have no idea which or how to resolve the problem. Any advice would be much appreciated, as i'm about ready to give win7 the shelf and revert back to a more trustworthy xp.

Cannot Kill A Hanging Process

The avast! Antivirus program suddenly stopped working. I tried to kill the process with the task manager and pskill, but had no success as access was denied. (I'm sys admin) there has been no new software or hardware added recently to the system. When i restart the pc, same problem occurs again. I didn't find any way to get rid of the avast.exe file or the entire program folder altogether. Tnx for any suggestions on how to kill or get rid of the avast application. Programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem.

Process Srrstr.dll

I have a problem with a rundll32.exe process srrstr.dll in task manager. From what i have found out this has to do with creating a restore point. This process will run forever until i stop it through task manager. I also have another problem that occurred around the same time. My external hard drive that i use as a backup is not showing my backups since this started. I believe that a backup might have been interrupted. Don't know if that could have caused all of this.

I had a screenshot but i cannot seem to paste it in here so i will type it out:

In task manager -> processes
"Image name" = rundll32.exe
"User name" = system
"Command line" = c:windowssystem32undll32.exe/d srrstr.dll, executescheduledsppcreation
"Description" = windows host process (rundll32)

I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit build 7600 v6. 1
Amd phenom ii 955 processor
Asus m4a785td-v evo mobo
4gb gskill ram
2 wd black 640gb hard drives & 1 external wd black 750gb hd as a backup

Raid 10 Array Process

I'm switching from xp to win 7 pro 64bit - i previously set raid 10 so have experience. This was done using f6 floppy on clean install xp pro 32bit with intel ich9r driver. I am going to do a clean install with win7 pro 64bit - i have read that in win 7 you don't need to use the same process but i am unclear what exactly occurs in the install process for win 7 - will win 7 simply recognize and install the correct drivers - or do i need to have the intel 64 bit matrix drivers ready on flash drive etc. Please confirm the process?

Ps this is hardware raid not software

Not Enough Storage To Process Command

I have major problem trying to install a new wlan pci card. When i first inserted it into the pc i figured the pnp would take care of everything but no so i installed it manually from the cd, this didn't work either so i tried to install it using a driver from the manufacturers website. The installation finishes and everything but windows still goes to look for drivers and when it doesn't find any i go to look in the device manager and i get the following error code:the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) (but they are)not enough storage is available to process this command.

To find a driver for this device, click update driver. I have about 2, 5gig ram free and about 590 gig of disk space free so that can't be it right? The things i have tried are:running the setup file as administrator, performing a disk cleanup, creating a new account with administrator acces, "telling" windows installer where to find the driver installer. Nothing works. Doe's anyone have any good ideas?

Bsod During Boot Process

I was playing an on-line game when the system locked up. The keyboard was unresponsive, no ctlr-alt-del or anything else seemed to have an effect, i power cycled and now the system cannot pass the boot process before bsoding. I get the windows saying starting windows and it just starts to draw the microsoft 4 color logo (about 3 to 5 pixels worth) when it bsods and reboots. Trying the repair mode it just bsods again but without rebooting. If i try the command line it stops when it gets to classpnp.sys then reboots.

I did a full memory test using memtest86, all 8g passed 3 iterations.

If i try the repair, it "loads windows files" and then bsods with a machine_check_exception with a  stop value of 0x0000009c (0x000000000000003, 0xfffff88002865b60, 0x00000000b220000a, 0x00000000002010a)

Settings.ini Is Being Used By Another Process

My gadgets aren't working, neither is firefox. I have a problem with my sidebar, as-well, as a lot of others have on this forum and a lot of others. Every time i start up my computer this message is shown. I tried a clean boot and that took care of the error message, but when i tried running the sidebar it popped up. Besides that my firefox, keeps claiming that another firefox is already running which, from my point of view, doesn't make any sense.

This seems to have started after i tried connecting windows media center to my xbox 360 and there was an error. In searching the internet, i have found that quite a few people have posted this kind of problem, several after a snafu in setting up their xbox 360 for media center, but there seem to be no answers to be found.

Process Identifier (pid) 4024

Upon boot up of my desktop computer an error message shows ' the desktop colour scheme ' has been changed to windows basic because of qttask.exe ie. Apple computer inc program. My computer has an intel processor with no apple programs! I have carried out windows explorer and control panel searches without success of finding such a program. It then follows to say that windows home premium colour scheme will return when the apple program has been uninstalled.

Any suggestions to stop this error message appearing everytime i boot up would be much appreciated and my computer running normally with the windows 7 home premium o. S installed. For information : my windows 7 o. S was a clean install and not a upgrade.

Computer Start Up Process Never Finishes

I have a 64 bit computer i recently updated from vista to windows 7. I did the compatibility search, and ever thing was supposedly ok to go. I have had only 1 problem- if i shut down my computer, when i turn it back on, i get all the way to the desktop, and get the "busy" signal. Forever. I can't click on anything. My only option is to pull the plug. The way i get my computer started is to start in safe mode, and then restart, then it starts just fine. Any suggestions?

Running Explorer As A Separate Process

Under windows xp we login to our workstations as a basic user and then launch a command prompt with administrator privileges using runas. This allows us to launch things like aduc or exchange system manager as our admin account.

Now i am in the process of creating an image and setting up security for windows 7. When attempting to do the same thing i get the message "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. ". The account that the cmd prompt is running as is an admini account that is in the local as well as domain admin groups. So i dont see that this could be a permissions issue.

Also we have set the registry key hkcusoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrent versionexploreradvancedseperateprocess = 1.

Windows Network - Not Enough Storage Available To Process Command

Cannot connect to wireless external drive - "microsoft windows network: not enough storage is available to process this command" error and system running slow after update. I just updated my laptop to windows 7 and am having a few problems. One - everything seems to be running slower (i thought it was supposed to be faster!). More problematic is the fact that i can't access my external hard drive which is networked. It shows it, but when i click on it (it's listed as a z drive), the error "microsoft windows network: not enough storage is available to process this command" shows.

I installed win7 on my husband's laptop the other day with no troubles. His is able to still access the networked drive without a problem and is running great. So great, i went and got it for my laptop. My husband's laptop is running the 64 version of home premium and mine the 32. I used upgrade advisor and fallowed all the recommendations it gave. Including uninstalling itunes. I saved my itunes files to the external drive and can't access them.

I have a hp pavillion dv6000 running webroot security suite.

Dvd Maker Problem During The Burn Process

I have a sony dvd camcorder (mini disc)and sony vegas movie studio 6 software. Since getting a new laptop with windows 7 i've been having problems with vegas movie studio (i think it may not be fully compatible with windows 7). But it does manage to render my videos to a recognizable format (mpg) so i turned to windows dvd maker, which looks like a great and simple program to use initially. But like many messages on this forum i too had a problem during the burn process - mine only gets to approx. 4% and then comes up with an error message (but the error message displays no detail). What can i do? Is there an alternative? Can i burn a mini disc onto a dvd-r for example? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

System Process Locking External Hdd

I have a seagate freeagent desktop 750gb external hdd connected via usb port. When i connect the device to windows, it is immediately locked by a system process that i cannot shutdown. I ran some sys-internals tools and found the culprit.

I am aware that these files are part of transactional ntfs system which was present in vista, im unsure if win 7 has this same feature or an updated version.

I cannot delete these files since they are protected operating system files, i cannot unlock the process locking them so how am i supposed to safely eject my external drive. I have another external drive, a small wd passport which does not get locked by windows in the same manner therefore i have concluded that these system files on my external are remnants of vista (my previous os). My wd passport was never connected to a computer running vista.

Please do not tell me to format my drive because it's filled with data i cannot backup to an alternative right now. This is beyond infuriating, i have been trying to solve this issue on my own for days trying numerous methods.
