Window Went Blank - Installation Process Has Failed

I am having trouble installing windows 32-bit. I was trying to upgrade my computer from vista 32-bit. After i clicked the disc icon it started to install and the blue line showing the progress moved across the window and after it ended the window went blank and it said the installation process had failed. I tried doing the same thing over again and receive the same failed message. I restarted the computer and click on the icon, but the same thing happened, again. Why do i need to do to properly install it.

Browsers & Mail - Google Search Results In Blank Window

This is one of those out-of-the-blue things that just started the other day. When i do a google search, i'll get the first page of results no problem. If i click on any of the search suggestions at the bottom or click to go to the next page of results, the screen goes blank and that's that. Refreshing the page doesn't do anything either. I can open the search results themselves no problem, but anything that involves further searching from the first page doesn't work. This just happens in ie9, it works normally in firefox no probs. Also, this is only happening on my windows 7/64 laptop. On my windows 7/32 desktop all is a-okay.

I've tried emptying the temporary files/cookies etc. With ccleaner, and tried it in private mode as well where the cache and cookies are bypassed. Finally i then tried resetting ie (tools > internet options > advanced > reset). No dice. I can drag page links from the results page up to the tab bar and drop them there and they will open that way (in other words, to go to the next page of links i can click and hold the "next >" link or one of the page numbers at the bottom, drag it up to the tab bar and release and the next page will open in a tab. )

Ati Crossfire Failed Installation

Installed 2nd video card but did not uninstall drivers while windows 7 was on. My problem now is windows will not boot. I tried disconnecting the hard drive with the os on it (i.e. 'c' drive) and tried installing a fresh copy of windows onto the computer and the computer still not boot. When the master hard drive with the windows 7 installation loads:

Windows startup repair
And
Start windows normally

When windows 7 disc is loaded windows goes up to the windows logo boot screen then doesnt load after that. If the startup repair is selected then the computer wont recognize the disc even though it functions fine in other pcs and laptops. Also atop these two options it states [windows could not startup due to possible new hardware installation].

Resolution: need to be able to uninstall or clean drivers or if this is not the resolution if i could possible receive a step in the right direction that would be great.

Installation Failed - The Wrong Volume Is In The Drive

Windows xp to windows 7 installation failed. "The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume grmculxfrer_en_dvd". Trying to install a legal copy of windows 7 (not downloaded either, actually purchased disk). The disk is an upgrade disk and i am upgrading from windows xp (32-bit) to windows 7 (64-bit).

When i attempt to install it, when it gets to "expanding windows files" i get the error message "the wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume grmculxfrer_en_dvd into drive d:" and the installation fails regardless of whether or not i click "cancel" "ignore" or "continue". What is wrong?

I ran a system upgrade check before and everything seems to be ready for the 64-bit.

This question has been asked before but no solution proposed on this forum that i found. Everything is is so slow too! Just to get to the initial installation screen takes 20 minutes and when it begins installation it stalls at 0% for 30 minutes before it throws me the error. How can this be so hard to upgrade?

Problem - Add Drivers - Installation Failed

Problem: "add drivers - installation failed" in "sysyem recovery options". I am trying to repair a damaged "windows 7: ultimate installation" on a home built pc. The system has an esc geforce 6100pm-m2 motherboard, with phoenix bios, 4gb ram, and two wd hdd's with linux on one hdd and windows 7 on the other hdd. I cannot load windows 7, the original installation was corrupted by easybcd.

So i'm trying to repair the windows 7 installation using a window 7 repair disk. I can load windows from the cd, then go into "system recovery options". At this point it does not show the windows 7 installed on the hdd. But when i try to load the necessary sata drivers (using both usb stick and cd) - i get an error message "add driver: the installation has failed". I can load all the other drivers - no problems. I've downloaded the latest drivers and still get the same result.

Novatel Driver Installation Failed:1603

Unable to install or uninstall novatel driver - get this message: "driver installation failed:1603" i have had no prior trouble installing and uninstalling programs. I have a new 64 bit viao running win7 that has been a joy for about a month until i tried to use my verizon usb720 wireless modem. I updated the vzaccess software and drivers from verizon's web site. Problem, the driver will not install, getting the above error message - and i cannot uninstall it, either.

I spent 2 hours with verizon tech support and they were unable to resolve the problem, finally claiming it's a windows problem. I found a similar problem posted (also involving the same modem) but the moderator's suggested solution (see below) did not work and was inapplicable to win 7. I did steps 1-4 with no problem, but did not download the 4. 5 installer b/c it is not for win7.

To assist you better, please provide us more information. A) are you able to install other programs without any error message? I would suggest you to unregister and re-register windows installer and check whether it helps. To do so, please follow the steps below: unregister windows installer, and then reregister windows installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the "start" menu, click "run:.

2. In the "open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press enter.

3. On the "start" menu, click "run".

4. In the "open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press enter.
For more information, please refer the link mentioned below:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

Also you can download and install latest version on windows installer from the link mentioned below:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
Familyid=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displaylang=en

After you finish all these steps then you can try installing vzaccess manager software and check this might fix your issue.

First: control panel - not using classic display

2. Click performance and maintenance

3. Administrative tools

4. Click local security policy

5. Then click software restriction policies.

6. When i did this there weren't any set. So you have to click action tab to create them. When you do so click onto enforcement.

Upgrade From Vista Home Premium 32-bit Failed Installation

I am attempting to upgrade from windows vista home premium 32-bit to windows 7 home premium 32-bit. I obtained this upgrade from a download, and my installation is failing.

At 21% of the way through the "expanding windows files" process, the installation quits with the following message:

"The upgrade was canceled. Any changes that were made to your computer during the upgrade process will not be saved. " And in a bow below that message: "setup can't continue. Your computer will now restart and your previous version of windows will be restored. "

No reason is given for the cancellation of the upgrade. I have, however, run the windows upgrade advisor, which has shown that my computer is fully compatible. All programs that it advised me to remove have been removed. I've also removed all external devices from my computer during the installation.

I fear i may have a corrupted installation file of some kind but am not sure of anything. I'd appreciate if anyone has any suggestions, or has been in this situation before and or knows what to do.

Microsoft .net framework 3. 5 service pack 1 and .net framework 3. 5 family update (kb951847) x86 - installation fail - error code 80041001.

I have windows vista home premium 32bit, my computer is continually trying to automatically update the "microsoft .net framework 3. 5 service pack 1 and .net framework 3. 5 family update" and i keep getting the error code 80041001. I have tried turning off my firewall, manually downloading the update and installing it, nothing works. I don't want to turn off the automatic update completely but i will soon if i can't get any help. I can't find this error code anywhere on the internet.

(I'm sys admin) there has been no new software or hardware added recently to the system. When i restart the pc, same problem occurs again. I didn't find any way to get rid of the avast.exe file or the entire program folder altogether. Tnx for any suggestions on how to kill or get rid of the avast application. Programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem.

Process Srrstr.dll

I have a problem with a rundll32.exe process srrstr.dll in task manager. From what i have found out this has to do with creating a restore point. This process will run forever until i stop it through task manager. I also have another problem that occurred around the same time. My external hard drive that i use as a backup is not showing my backups since this started. I believe that a backup might have been interrupted. Don't know if that could have caused all of this.

I had a screenshot but i cannot seem to paste it in here so i will type it out:

In task manager -> processes
"Image name" = rundll32.exe
"User name" = system
"Command line" = c:windowssystem32undll32.exe/d srrstr.dll, executescheduledsppcreation
"Description" = windows host process (rundll32)

I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit build 7600 v6. 1
Amd phenom ii 955 processor
Asus m4a785td-v evo mobo
4gb gskill ram
2 wd black 640gb hard drives & 1 external wd black 750gb hd as a backup

Raid 10 Array Process

I'm switching from xp to win 7 pro 64bit - i previously set raid 10 so have experience. This was done using f6 floppy on clean install xp pro 32bit with intel ich9r driver. I am going to do a clean install with win7 pro 64bit - i have read that in win 7 you don't need to use the same process but i am unclear what exactly occurs in the install process for win 7 - will win 7 simply recognize and install the correct drivers - or do i need to have the intel 64 bit matrix drivers ready on flash drive etc. Please confirm the process?

Ps this is hardware raid not software

Not Enough Storage To Process Command

I have major problem trying to install a new wlan pci card. When i first inserted it into the pc i figured the pnp would take care of everything but no so i installed it manually from the cd, this didn't work either so i tried to install it using a driver from the manufacturers website. The installation finishes and everything but windows still goes to look for drivers and when it doesn't find any i go to look in the device manager and i get the following error code:the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) (but they are)not enough storage is available to process this command.

To find a driver for this device, click update driver. I have about 2, 5gig ram free and about 590 gig of disk space free so that can't be it right? The things i have tried are:running the setup file as administrator, performing a disk cleanup, creating a new account with administrator acces, "telling" windows installer where to find the driver installer. Nothing works. Doe's anyone have any good ideas?

Bsod During Boot Process

I was playing an on-line game when the system locked up. The keyboard was unresponsive, no ctlr-alt-del or anything else seemed to have an effect, i power cycled and now the system cannot pass the boot process before bsoding. I get the windows saying starting windows and it just starts to draw the microsoft 4 color logo (about 3 to 5 pixels worth) when it bsods and reboots. Trying the repair mode it just bsods again but without rebooting. If i try the command line it stops when it gets to classpnp.sys then reboots.

I did a full memory test using memtest86, all 8g passed 3 iterations.

If i try the repair, it "loads windows files" and then bsods with a machine_check_exception with a  stop value of 0x0000009c (0x000000000000003, 0xfffff88002865b60, 0x00000000b220000a, 0x00000000002010a)

Settings.ini Is Being Used By Another Process

My gadgets aren't working, neither is firefox. I have a problem with my sidebar, as-well, as a lot of others have on this forum and a lot of others. Every time i start up my computer this message is shown. I tried a clean boot and that took care of the error message, but when i tried running the sidebar it popped up. Besides that my firefox, keeps claiming that another firefox is already running which, from my point of view, doesn't make any sense.

This seems to have started after i tried connecting windows media center to my xbox 360 and there was an error. In searching the internet, i have found that quite a few people have posted this kind of problem, several after a snafu in setting up their xbox 360 for media center, but there seem to be no answers to be found.

Process Identifier (pid) 4024

Upon boot up of my desktop computer an error message shows ' the desktop colour scheme ' has been changed to windows basic because of qttask.exe ie. Apple computer inc program. My computer has an intel processor with no apple programs! I have carried out windows explorer and control panel searches without success of finding such a program. It then follows to say that windows home premium colour scheme will return when the apple program has been uninstalled.

Any suggestions to stop this error message appearing everytime i boot up would be much appreciated and my computer running normally with the windows 7 home premium o. S installed. For information : my windows 7 o. S was a clean install and not a upgrade.

Computer Start Up Process Never Finishes

I have a 64 bit computer i recently updated from vista to windows 7. I did the compatibility search, and ever thing was supposedly ok to go. I have had only 1 problem- if i shut down my computer, when i turn it back on, i get all the way to the desktop, and get the "busy" signal. Forever. I can't click on anything. My only option is to pull the plug. The way i get my computer started is to start in safe mode, and then restart, then it starts just fine. Any suggestions?

Cannot End Process On Gaming Programs

I recently installed windows 7, and previously used windows xp. I play a game called asda story, currently floundering between beta and live. My problem is that when it bugs out and freezes, and i go to desktop to shut down the program, in windows xp i hit end process and it shut it down immediately. In windows 7 it says "cannot end process" and won't shut down the program. It won't shut it down from either programs or process tabs in the task manager. This has also happened occasionally in fallout 3 when that game freezes up. I bring up task manager and it won't let me shut down the game. No matter what the process is, if i hit "end process" it should end the process. Why doesn't this work in windows 7 sometimes?

Running Explorer As A Separate Process

Under windows xp we login to our workstations as a basic user and then launch a command prompt with administrator privileges using runas. This allows us to launch things like aduc or exchange system manager as our admin account.

Now i am in the process of creating an image and setting up security for windows 7. When attempting to do the same thing i get the message "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. ". The account that the cmd prompt is running as is an admini account that is in the local as well as domain admin groups. So i dont see that this could be a permissions issue.

Also we have set the registry key hkcusoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrent versionexploreradvancedseperateprocess = 1.
