Canon Hg20 Drivers

I recently purchased a canon hg20 hi-def camcorder. It uses a hard drive to store video - as well as a flash memory card. I have 2 computers, both almost identical in hardware and both running windows 7 home premium 64-bit. When i plug the camcorder via the usb connection to one computer it's found ok and drivers are loaded successfully. It's using "disk.sys", "partmgr.sys", and "sahdad64.sys".

However, when i plug it in to my other computer it searches and searches and searches and searches and finally comes back and says it couldn't find drivers and that it failed. When i look at it in device manager the driver is "usbstor.sys". I've tried removing the driver and reinstalling but it keeps picking the same one. I've tried updating the driver and the system tells me it's already the most current and refuses to replace it.

The computer that installed correctly works fine with the camera - i can access the videos on the camcorder hard drive and copy them to my computer. The other computer, however, refuses to install the camcorder correctly and i therefore can't access the camcorder from that computer.

Any ideas on how i can get my other computer to install this camcorder drivers correctly? I thought windows 7 was supposed to handle drivers better than other versions. I'm really surprised i'm getting different results on different computers that are almost identical.

Canon Hg20 Camcorder (code 10)

My canon hg20 camcorder is working fine on windows xp. But it is not on windows 7 64 bit.

Here is what happening:

- The camcorder is recognized when i connect it (via usb) to the pc in photo transfer mode.

- It is not recognized when i connect it (via usb) in movie transfer mode.

- In "devices and printers", the camcorder is shown but with a yellow exclamation mark on it, notifying a problem.

- The properties panel (right click->properties) shows "device status: this device cannot start (code 10)"

- Troubleshooting (right click->troubleshoot) completed but fails: "usb mass storage has a driver problem".

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Unable To Install Canon Pixma Mp550 Drivers

Hi, i am trying to install the drivers for my new canon mp550 printer to my dell dimension e520, running windows 7 32-bit. According to microsoft the printer is compatible with windows 7 and should give no issues. I have tried several reboots and installs but the program goes no further than the message "registering the program installation", then seems to stop installing at that point. The installation should only take about 4 minutes, but i have been trying for several hours. I have also tried installing as administrator, but to no avail, can you help?

Driver For Canon Ip1600

Windows update cannot find a drive for my canon ip1600. Canon's website only shows a driver for an add-on module. Device manager does not recognize it as a printer. It shows device type as other devices. It connects by usb. I use windows 7 professional 64 bit. I spoke with someone at canon who said that the driver is available through windows update and said to talk with microsoft. I talked with someone at microsoft and the only way they can help is if i pay $59 for support which i will not do. Can anyone help with this?

Canon Mp620 Printer

Iam using a canon mp620 printer networked with 2 laptops and a pc. The pc runs xp and the two laptops previously ran vista home premium - no problems. Since upgrading (!) To windows 7 ultimate on the laptops, the printer will not run with any machine via wireless/networking, and will work with the xp pc via usb and with one of the laptops only, also only via usb. The laptops and the printer can identify each other wirelessly , and say that they are linked and working until i try to print anything - then, after the print queue, nothing happens.

Control panel shows a 'troubleshoot' message by the printer. One laptop will not work even when connected by usb. I have downloaded new drivers from canon. Any ideas, please - preferably not too technical, if poss.

Canon Pixma Ip5000 Not Installing

I checked the windows compatibility for windows 7 x64 and it lists my canon ip5000 as being compatible. This works fine in x32, and xp but in x64 i get an error that it can't find a compatible driver. I have downloaded the "add on" from canon's site, but they claim it needs to have some driver from windows first. I don't know what they are talking about. If i try to manually add my printer the 5000 is not in the list, there is a 5300.

If i install this i can print, but the colors are wrong. Any ideas what i can do?†I've tried uninstalling everything multiple times, reinstalling, rebooting out of ideas don't want to buy a new printer when this works fine in any other os. In the printers dialog it shows "inkjet printer" with an exclamation point.

Canon Mpc200 Printer Issue

I'm using windows 7 and have installed the latest driver available for the canon mpc 200. I can see the the driver has been successfully installed in the device manager window. The device status also shows that "this device is working properly. " However, when i go to the control panel to "add a printer", the exact device name is not listed there, so i selected what seems to be the nearest match i.e. "Canon inkjet mp21 series. "

When i tried to print a test page - nothing happened. (Even though the†driver i installed has the exact name has the printer - i can't understand why it is available in the droop down list of available printers. )†So, i tried adding it as a new device but it wasn't identified.

Wia Driver For Canon 4200f

My canon 4200f scanner is supposed to be win 7 compatible. However, after i downloaded and installed the appropriate 64-bit drivers from the canon support site my scanner is still not recognized by applications or utilities within windows 7. Specifically, "devices and printers", "windows fax and scan", and photoshop cs4 extended (both 32 & 64bit versions) all report that a wia driver is needed for my scanner. Unfortunately canon has only posted offers a twain driver. Can someone please tell me where i can get a wia driver for this scanner?

I installed windows 7 (64-bit), and am now having problems printing with my canon mp500 printer (previously ran fine with windows vista). Canon Pixma Ip4000 Printer Problem

Windows 7 64 bit laptop on wireless network cannot find . Inf printer driver for canon pixma ip4000 wired to windows 7 32 bit pc. New win 7 64 bit laptop connected wirelessly in a home network through a netgear wndr3700 router. Wired to the router is a pc with a usb attached canon ip4000 printer. This printer has worked flawlessly with this pc for years. Add the laptop. Attempt to access the printer over the network (it is set to share on the pc) results in a failure to find the driver for the printer.

At the canon download site, i have downloaded and installed on both machines the driver add-on "aomwin110ea23us.exe". This does nothing to solve the problem. Then, following the suggestions in the above referenced thread, i downloaded 7-zip, installed it, and unpacked the canon add-on file.

Guess what? - There is no, none, nada, stupid ". Inf" file in there! I understand that i need to set advanced sharing on the pc to both x32 and x64, but without a valid . Inf file to point to, i am sunk. And the same thing is true when trying to add the printer to the laptop - no . Inf file to point to. The one thing i have not tried is installing the printer directly to the laptop via usb, and that is because that is not a usable configuration for me.

The printer must be attached to the pc. Is there anyone out there who can help me solve this dilemma? Please do not give me an answer that tells me to generally download the driver - you have to tell me specifically what driver, then walk me through the process.

Canon Eos 40d Camera Not Recognised

I am hoping people here can help. I have been trying this all weekend with no success. I have a canon eos40d camera. It previously connected fine with xp, but now, not with win7 (32bit). I have installed the latest canon utilities (but according to them, they do not provide the drivers). They tell me that the camera should work just by connecting the camera to the computer by usb. When i do this, i encounter the error "driver not installed properly".

I have looked to see if it is recognized as a storage drive of sorts in my computer, but it does not appear there either. Canon tells me that the wia driver allows it to communicate with the computer. I have been looking for a win 7 wia driver to no avail. I have searched forums and the net for solutions to no avail. I have even read about changing the communication method to ptp or something in the camera's menu system. My camera does not have that option (or at least, i have not been able to find it).

Cannot Install Canon Ip6700d Printer Driver

I have windows 7 64 bit set up with a canon ip6700d printer. I set up the printer to be shared on the network with another pc running windows xp 32 bit. When setting up the sharing options>additional drivers, i point to the x86 file: ip6700d. Inf located on the printer install disc. When i attempt to install the driver†i get the message:†"the specified location does not contain the driver canon inkjet ip6700d for the requested architecture" i have verified that it is the correct inf file by opening it. The following is the header info:

; Ip6700d. Inf (for windows x86 monolithic driver)
;

Provider=%canon%
Classguid={4d36e979-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

Attempting to install the driver on the xp machine fails as well with the same file, when i try to add it as a network printer. Is there something i am missing?
