Asus P5ad2-e Audio Device Driver Not Properly Installed

I did a clean install of windows 7 on 2 identical computers with the asus p5ad2-e motherboard. Both have the same problem: a message "no audio output device is installed". Letting windows try to solve the problem then results in an attempt to reinstall the device driver, which fails with the message "high definition audio device has a driver problem". Nothing i tried so far (uninstalling the driver, manually installing a realtek driver for windows 7) has worked.

No Audio Output Device Installed

I had the same problem before. I upgraded to windows 7, had the red "x" on the audio and fixed it pretty easily with realtek high def audio driver. That's all i can remember from that. Well i bought a new printer and had to downgrade back to vista and that's when the sound messed up again. I tried to fix it with vista but was told i should go back to windows 7 so i did and the problem still persists.

I have a compaq presario sr5113wm and from my knowledge my sound card model is a creative sb live! Series (wdm). Everytime i start my computer the action center pops up with messages saying "address your sound card" or something like that so when i go to the device manager to check the sound, video and game controllers the only option listed is my webcam mic. Realtek or creative are not listed and i tried installing and uninstalling everything and i still get nothing! I keep getting people telling me to take the sound card out but i really want to leave that as a last resort and try to fix this technically. I've done it before but maybe i'm missing something.

No Audio Output Device Is Installed

I've already tried updating the driver, but the solution did not work and none of the other solutions are possible for me to even try. I haven't had problems with sound until randomly a little while ago. I have a dell inspiron 1440 on windows 7 64 bit home premium. On the bottom corner, there is a red x next to the sound icon and when i check for playback and recording devices, it just says that none are installed. This is a very frustrating problem.

Audio Output Device Is Not Installed

I just got the "no audio output device is installed" message for the second time. I can't remember what i did last time to fix it, but i've tried everything that people have suggested on multiple threads concerning this. It was literally working last night as i was listening to music, today when i turned it on it said i had no audio output installed. I have an hp pavillion dv9500. I upgraded from vista home 32-bit to windows 7 pro 64-bit, but never had a real problem until now.

I tried to find the driver on the hp site, but the driver didn't work. I've even tried to restore my computer to a week ago when i got a system update, but it keeps failing. There is also an exclamation mark on the co-processor under other devices in the device manager, but i have no idea what it is, and my sound, video, and game controller section pulled a houdini on me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Realtek Audio Driver Error 10

Conexant cx20468 @ intel 82801fbm ich6-m - ac'97 audio controller [b-2] pci so basically thats
My audio hardware on this laptop, i dl realtek (it should be i cant remember if it was realtek) but it came with a error 10 it can't start. Other people say its conexant driver but non of them install it it always says istall failed. Now i found a interesting thing

1. Install realtek audio driver (wdm_a380 or wdm_a381, doesn't matter).
2. Reboot
3. Download and try to install the conexant ac 97 audio driver. You can get the one from gateway (d00245-001-001 driver), or any other manufacturer that uses this chip in the notebook. Pay attention to where it stores the files. For instance the gateway driver uncompresses to c:cabsdirectory name.
4. Go to device manager, find the realtek ac 97 audio item under sound, video, and game controllers. Right click on it and select update driver
5. Select no if it asks to connect to windows update, click next
6. Select install from a list of specific location and click next
7. Select dont search. I will choose the driver to install and click next
8. De-select show compatible hardware.conexant should show up under manufacturer since you tried to install the driver earlier.
9. Click on conexant on the left, then select conexant ac-link audio on the right and click next the driver will install. It may ask you for the location of some files, point it to the directory the conexant driver uncompressed to in step 3.
Reboot, and you should have working audio!

It nearly worked my audio driver seem to be working, when i clicked on the sound to regulate the sound it showed that the sound driver was getting the sound, but nothing was coming out of the laptop(i tried regular ones but still nothing. Is there a simple driver that i could just install and it works or do i have tot to something harder to get it work. Btw i have windows 7 and i doesn't find any updates for it.

Audio Driver Uninstalled By Accident

I have a very serious problem that just happened to me a couple days ago. I saw that there was an update for my audio driver, so i uninstalled my current driver and attempted to install the new one. However, the new driver fails to install whenever i try, and gives me the error "install realtek hd audio driver failure [error code: 0x000005b3]i have thought about system restore, but my system restore points don't go as far back to the time when i still hadn't uninstalled the drivers, so that's not a solution anymore. Ny driver installer i download off the internet gives me the same error as above whenever i try to install it.

Since i have no audio drivers, i have no sound, and the sound icon says no audio output device is installed when i put my mouse over it. Please help without sound, i think i'm going to have to resort to reformatting my whole computer if there aren't any solutions.

Asus P5vd2-mx Motherboard Audio Device Driver

Audio device driver required - windows 7 64-bit - asus p5vd2-mx motherboard - cpu: socket 775 - audio device "unknown". Ok, as the title says, i need the correct windows 7 64-bit driver (fyi. Asus do not have any win7 drivers for my board except for bios flashers)

Previous: new computer (to me its new, it was my brothers) worked fine for him but came with all drivers pre-installed (he also used win7 64-bit)

I formatted the drive and re-installed win7 64-bit. It showed the device as working including in the device manager, however, no matter what i did i got no sound. I tried to find drivers online and found one saying it was the win7 64-bit driver, it installed fine but had to reboot to finish the install, o nreboot it gave an error as i logged back in (cant remember what it was now) and now there is no device showing up at all anywhere not even in device manager and not even showing "unknown device"

I have been to asus website and tried the win vista 64-bit audio driver for my motherboard and it says it is not compatible.

Note: i have been through the entire faq on the asus website and they have no useful information what so ever, as with the forums.

Note: have also checked in playback devices panel and shown disabled hardware. Still nothing
I have tried using sis software "sandra-lite" and it cannot detect any audio devices

If this is a bios version problem and i have to flash it, please let me know and if possible provide a link to the correct flasher. Ive not flashed a bios since 1998.

Win 7 Keeps Installing The Default Not Working Driver For Audio Hd

I have a problem with realtek hd audio driver in windows 7 pro x64. My audio is an integrated sound card realtek hd (realtek alc660 6 channel codec) on asus k8v-vm se motherboard. Fresh after an installation of windows 7, it installs its default hd audio driver and says, that it is working (in device manager it says, that the device is working properly), but in the playback devices list (in the system tray speaker icon menu) there is no devices, so eventually there is no sound.

There is no problem, since realtek has its own drivers for win7 x64 available, which are working just fine (ver. R 2. 39 at the moment). The problem is, that after every single start of the computer, windows installs back its own default drivers, that as i've already said are not working. The curious part is, that it does not recover them after restart, but only after turn off and on.

I think, that the problem lies in the fact, that realtek's drivers are not certified, and the ms drivers of course are. I think, that windows is choosing the latter, because it believes that they are safer (realtek's workin¬-certified drivers vs ms's pseudo-working&certified drivers).

Have someone any suggestions how to make win7 stop installing the faulty drivers? Installing the proper ones on every boot is not very convenient.

Philips Shb6111 Bluetooth Headset Audio Driver

When using philips shb6111 bluetooth headset, the khz can be 44khz in win7 beta release rc, but not in the final product. A2dp working on windows 7 beta releases. Windows 7 release candidate and final release no longer includes a bluetooth audio-class driver. [12] a2dp support is provided entirely by third-party bluetooth software. Music sounds bad at 22khz, and ffdshow doesn't solve the issue anymore. Headset still operates at 22 khz. Any suggestion for a good codec?

Update Audio Driver For Asus Motherboard P5ld2-fm

My computer has an asus motherboard (p5ld2-fm) with an onboard audio chip (from realtec). After installing windows 7, i have no more audio: on my screen right under i see a speaker with a red cross. By hovering over this symbol, it says "no audio output device is installed". I suppose that asus has no suitable driver for my motherboard. Not a big problem as it is my spare computer, but my question is: as soon as the right drivers are available, will they com automatically with the updates from windows 7, or must i look on a regular base on the asus website for those drivers?

Microsoft Win 7 High Definition Audio Device Driver

Microsoft windows 7 high definition audio device driver wrongly swaps c sub and rl rr audio jacks. This is a really bizarre thing that is driving me up a wall. I ran windows xp media center edition 2005 on my hp m1050y and the device ran as expected for years.

Then, i upgraded to windows 7 and my rr speaker emits sounds that are supposed to come from the subwoofer.conversely, the subwoofer emits sounds that are supposed to come from the rr speaker.

I also noticed that the speakers properties dialog displays the wrong colored jacks in the jack information section. C sub should be orange and rl rr should be black. However, on this dialog the c sub is black and the rl rr jack is orange.

Rolling back to windows xp fixes the problem. Installing newer realtek drivers for windows 7 fixes that problem but makes it so that i cannot control the headphones and rear l r speaker jacks independently, and cannot hear the headphones without turning up the speakers' volume.

Hp does not offer an updated driver for this device for windows 7. I have also done a strange thing and installed and run mac os x on this machine just to test the audio and even in that os the speaker jacks work correctly, just as they did in windows xp media center edition 2005. The problem definitely is in the windows 7 version of the driver for this device. From what i have read it appears to have also been in the vista version of the driver.

Does microsoft have a hotfix available that addresses this problem? Or, is there a way to swap the jacks in the driver? The chipset is the alc880.

I do not want to manually swap the plugs and jacks as this will not work for any other os i might also boot on this machine. Installing the generic realtek driver also is not an option as i need to be able to have separate control over headphones and speaker volumes.

I need maximum interoperability between operating systems as well as independent control of front and back green audio jacks. No other operating system, including older windows operating systems, have these jacks wrong but vista and windows 7. Anyone know of a solution or of a registry tweak i can do which will swap the jacks in the driver itself?

No Audio

I built this computer about a year ago, and when i built it, i put windows 7 (64bit) on it. I then downgraded to windows xp (64bit) due to software compatibility. Yesterday, i cracked open my windows 7 (64bit) disk again, and reinstalled. My audio device: "realtek high definition audio" is shown by the upgrade advisor as compatible with windows 7, and my audio worked through this device when i had 7 on this computer the first time. Before installing 7, the audio worked fine in xp, and i just rebooted into a linuxmint livecd, and it worked out of the box.

My motherboard is an asrock p45xe, and i am using the onboard audio. I have installed the realtek drivers as supplied from the asrock site, and this is how my "playback devices" screen looks:http://screencast.com/t/zwnhnwzm - and, as i say, i know it works as i just booted a livecd and had working audio. Any ideas?

No Audio Working At All

I just replaced my windows 7 rc with windows & ultimate on my imac yesterday and after the installation i found that i had no sound. I have tried every possible way i can think of to solve the problem and nothing works. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it with the mac driver disc, i have tried updating the driver but windows always tells me that it is the most up to date driver. I had no problems with the sound on the rc version of windows 7 so not sure why i am having one now.

Audio Problems

I have a thinkpad x-61 laptop that came with windows vista. It worked fine for 18 months or so. At one point the audio failed and i couldn't hear anything at all. After some days (and i can't recall what i might’ve done) the problem was fixed, only to fail again a week later, for good.

I had a friend (somewhat knowledgeable) help me and after an hour of trying different things he suggested i move from vista to win7 —which i had been planning to do anyway— as the os might’ve had something to do with the problem.

When win7 finally came out i installed the professional edition (not as an upgrade) and discovered that the problem remained as before. At this point i figure my laptop must have a hardware problem, and i was puzzled by the fact that neither speakers nor headphones or mike, worked.

The last thing i tried was using a "dynex" usb headphone / mike combination. I plugged it in; the os installed the necessary drivers and started working just fine.

Now i am lost: can my problem still be hardware or can it be software?

My computer shows under device:
Speakers "soundmax integrated digital hd audio" (the original audio device)
Speaker "usb pnp sound device" (the new headphone)

The driver for the soundmax audio is dated may of 2009 and doesn't give the option for updating it. Furthermore, when checking "properties", the system reports "this device is working properly".

Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

I've tried launching the .exe in "windows xp (service pack 3)" compatibility mode, but it doesn't seem to work. Still get the same error message. Any thoughts?
