Microsoft Office Outlook Malfunctioning

After microsoft automatic update, outlook in vista has stopped working properly. I can open program, write an e-mail or two, and may be able to forward one mail, then program freezes. This happened right after an overnight update. How do i fix this problem without taking away the new updates ? Or stopping automatic updates for the future. Also automatic updates changed all my internet home pages. This was very upsetting. Why? I still have firefox but all my settings got erased. That was not ok with me. I have given permission to do automatic updates to programs but not to reset my personal
Settings. How can i prevent this in the future?

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

Running windows xp media center edition 2005. I have office 2003 professional. Today, 7 june 09, apparently there were a lot of updates not only to xp but office as well. The .net and silverlight was just a couple of them. Anyway, after that, i rebooted as instructed but now i get an error when i try and reply to someone that has sent me an email. It states :  "the message interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists try restarting outlook. "

I have restarted outlook 2003 several times and i get the same error. I haven't changed my email account or anything (it seems) that would cause it not to operate properly as it had for the last year. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Office Outlook 2007 - Microsoft Exchange Is Unavailable

I am trying to configure microsoft office outlook 2007. When i open the program, it comes up with a message that reads "microsoft exchange is unavailable. " Since i don't use/don't know what microsoft exchange is, i click "work offline. " I then get a message that reads ""outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name.

The connection to microsoft exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. " I then hit "ok, " and it asks me for microsoft exchange information, which i do not have. I hit "cancel, " and it says "cannot open your default e-mail folders.

Your profile is not configured. " I then hit "ok" and the program quits. How am i supposed to be able to configure my accounts when the program quits every time i try to open it? I would greatly appreciate some assistance! I have two comcast email accounts and my . Edu account.

Office 2003 Issue - Microsoft Office End User License Agreement

Windows 7 pro, get "microsoft office end-user license agreement. " From office 2003 programs. I purchased a new hp computer with windows 7 pro, then loaded all of the software i'd been using on my old xp system. Every time i start any office 2003 app, i get a dialog box labeled "microsoft office end-user license agreement. " I must click on "accept" before continuing. I use an old vista solution of 'running as admin' and now i receive a box asking if it is alright to modify this program(registry i think). How can i stop this box from appearing?

Ms Office Outlook 2007 Question

I currently have ms office home & student edition and want to buy ms office outlook 2007. Will outlook integrate into my existing office suite seamlessly in the same way as if i'd bought, say, office pro that comes with outlook as standard. Are there any differences in buying/installing them separately.

I'm using win7 64-bit. Please don't tell me to post in the outlook forum as that seems to pretty dead.

Office 2007 Outlook Problem

I have a two-month old latitude e-4300 laptop with 4gb of ram, running windows 7 pro. It was initially a wonderfully fast machine, but i have had two serious outbreaks of problems. In both cases, i first noticed problems in outlook 2007, which i use to access amy work email account via the outlook connector. The problems begin with outlook taking forever to download my email, and sometimes returning a series of blank email messages with no content. The first time this happened, on advice of microsoft support, i tried to uninstall and reinstall office 2007.

It uninstalled, but would not reinstall. After hours on the line with tech support, the eventual verdict was that my .net files had been corrupted.microsoft and hp technical support both failed to find a solution, other than completely reinstalling windows 7 and reloading all my programs and data – which i eventually did.microsoft technical support suggested that the problem may have been triggered a very large outlook. Pst file, then more than 6gb. So i archived it into several separate files. The working file is now less than 0. 6 gb, my two archived files each around 3 - 4 gb.

The problem with outlook has now returned, intermittently, and the performance of my machine has plummeted to a point at which i am barely able to work. Programs keep hanging in "not responding" mode, simple excel spreadsheets or explorer windows can take 15-20 seconds to load, web browsing has become intermittently glacial, and three times yesterday i had a blue screen failure while working on an excel spreadsheet.

I have uninstalled recently installed software, switched off services running in the background, cleansed programs from my startup menu, and nothing seems to help. Does anyone have an answer other than "buy a mac"? I simply cannot continue working with a system that needs a complete reinstall of its operating system and data every month or so.

Error When Using Word / Outlook In Office 10

While looking at e-mail in outlook and i select a link to a web site i get the following message: "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact you system administrator". Selecting a different site while viewing an e-mail or one in microsoft word i get the above message. I get around the problem by directly accessing windows explorer and typing in the address which takes me to the site. The problem is probably in a switch in window 7 or office10 but i cannot find it to turn it off.

Microsoft Outlook, Code 643

I have microsoft office 2007, and run vista. For several months i have been battling issues with opening a word attachment from an outlook email. The document will open only with this sequence. Double click on attachment, wait for word to open into some unknown realm of something between a normal screen with all documents closed and trying to open a new document, then go back to outlook and double click the attachment again. Yea, you can now read the attachment.

Second issue and probably related. I have used the same pop3 mail service for 15 years with no issues until 6 months ago. Because i travel with business i have always set my internet mail set to keep copies of mail on the server as a safety precaution. Recently, everytime i open outlook it re-downloads all 27, 000+ emails, every time outlook is started.

It slows my computer to a crawl and now to an unusable speed. I have deleted my outlook settings then reinstalled no help.
Today i decided to try any microsoft updates. I tried to download a "very important update" for vista (i think a 4. ? Patch) i am now receiving an error code 643.

Cannot Access New Messages In Outlook Office 2007

Can't access new messages in outlook or windows live - new office 2007 installation. Tried to change or remove password from outlook (and windows live/connector) but i must have mistyped something and now i can't get my emails. I tells me to go to my secret question, which i have done - then it says "you've failed the login too many times". It also asks me to have them send the correct password to my email account; how crazy is that - since the only email account it lists is the one i cannot possibly access.

It does give me an option to have them to respond to a different account, but when i give them the gmail account it tries to work on the password i set up in gmail, not the one in outlook. How can someone reset a password when they can't even get into their account? Or how can we resent/delete password if after a few tries we are locked out for good?  Help, please! I haven't been able to access important emails for several days.

Transfer Old Emails From Outlook Office 2007

How do you transfer old stored emails from outlook(office 2007) on vista to windows mail on windows 7. In the last few days i have had a clean installation of windows 7 and office 2007. Prior to this all files were copied to a secondary storage hard disc.

Widows 7 started up fine and everything is running well. On opening office outlook the system reconnected automatically and set up windows mail. In the past i had created a file structure in outlook to store old emails for future reference. So far i have been able to transfer all "contacts" and the structure of files used to store old mail but i am unable to open the old stored emails. If i access the storage drive and follow the path uusers****appdatalocalmicrosoftwindows maillocal folder i can get to my old files and can see that they contain all the stored emails.

I have so far tried all the import options within mail and copying file contents and whole files to the same location on the main drive. I even tried deleting files on the main drive and substituting a copy of the old file. So far i am unable to open the old emails.

I have also set up another user and gone through the whole set process from scratch again, but the result was the same. So, what should i try next? Am i working in the wrong area?

Unable To Access Microsoft Outlook 2007

I have microsoft office professional 2007 installed on my computer running windows 7. I recently have received the following error message "cannot start microsoft outlook. Cannot open the outlook window. " I googled this error message which sent me to the microsoft support website. It recommended that i disable the compatibility setting. I ran the "microsoft fix it" wizard which solved the problem, i was able to open microsoft outlook.

However, i had to create a new profile and lost all previous emails. This has happened twice now and i am looking for a permanent solution to this problem. Also, would like to know how to archive my emails and to be able to restore them once archived.

Microsoft Office Xp 2002 Compatibility

I am having problems using my old office xp standard 2002 disc from my old xp computer with my new windows 7 computer. Excel is missing some functions like the summation symbol on the toolbar which allows me to add numbers quickly. In fact, when i try to reload this office xp disc, microsoft says the product key i entered does not exist.

Best buy (where i purchased the computer in january 2010) tells me i need to buy a later microsoft office disc specifically for windows 7 for about $150 otherwise some things will probably never work correctly and i might even mess up the operating system. But some internet forums say just upgrade to office 2003 and all will be fine, except maybe outlook which i never use.

Compatibility With Microsoft Office Xp Professional

I have a notebook (hp) with  vista home premium 64-bit os installed. It has an upgrade for win7 available free under an hp/microsoft upgrade plan. I have a microsoft office xp professional; vs. 2002 program that i want to use. Is the office suite compatible with any of the levels of windows7 upgrades? Hp's free upgrade is only available on this computer for the win7 home premium version. I need to know which works, or doesn't. If it is more cost effective, i would upgrade my office suite.

Microsoft Office Home And Student 2007

I just bought a new dell laptop with windows 7 and microsoft office home and student, both installed by dell. When i attempt to get into word i get a message telling my that i have to insert a 25 digit product key. I then found a 25 digit product key on the cd dell provided me and made 5 attempts to type it in the message; but it tells me that it is the wrong product key. I went into help and reached a spot containing word info. It had the words "product key" listed but there were no digits following. I'm really concerned because the message also told me that i will only get 25 chances to enter the product key.

Stopping Microsoft Office Updates Offer

Os: windows 7 home premium 64-bit my computer came preloaded with a trial of microsoft office home and student 2007. I have since uninstalled it. Even though it is no longer installed on my machine, windows update continues to pester me with office updates i do not want or need. I have all updates installed, even a handful of earlier office updates from when i did have the software installed. Since i no longer have office, i have no use for any more updates to it. Therefore i would like to know how to stop this incessant nagging to update office. I would appreciate a real helpful response and not just an irrelevant copy-paste auto-response.

I am upgrading to window 7. I just got my computer back from hp repair. Due to the repairs all of the software applications had been removed. The computer came with vista and a free upgrade from hp. I just upgraded to windows 7. Now i need to download my application software and i am starting with my microsoft office professional. I tried to go on the compatibility checker to make sure that the microsoft professional 2007 is compatible.

In checking, the microsoft website says that office professional version 12 is compatible with my 64 bit system. Where do i find my version? I have the original packaging from the store but cannot seem to find the version. How can i make sure it is compatible with a 64 bit system?

Microsoft Office 2007 Error During Setup

I got the error in the title of this but no other errors. None of the kb articles was relevant.

I fixed it by removing anything related to the microsoft office document converter that allowed me to open docx and xlsx file.

I uninstalled the microsoft office document converter but that failed so i had to use the windows installer clean-up utility to remove it.

I deleted everything from the program file/microsoft office/12. 0 folder. In my case there was some visual studio stuff there which i left in place.

I also deleted the keys in hkey_classes_rootinstallerproducts which ended in 01fec (for example 000021091a0090400000000000f01fec) which were related to office 2007.

Product Code For Microsoft Office Word

For christmas of 2009, i was given a brand new toshiba laptop. I was so happy. But recently, i've noticed that i can't use word, due to no product key. This is a major problem for me, as i'm currently trying to write a book and cannot do such efficiently without using office word. I've checked the box the laptop came in, but there's no sign of anything that would likely help.

Error 1402 Problem With Microsoft Office

I had a copy of office 2007 installed that stopped working properly. I tried to uninstall it, but crashed half way through. Now it says i don't have permission to delete the files, and when i try to reinstall it says error 1402 can't write to the registry. I have used the manual and automated attempts to fix security settings, have removed microsoft office from the installer with installer clean up, and done a clean boot to try and get this problem sorted.

Nothing works, it keeps saying i don't have permission. I have the exact same problem with adobe acrobat, it will not let me install and gives the same error message. The adobe fix page just says uninstall all versions and reinstall, but that does not help. I have done multiple spyware scans and virus scans, and am clean.

Microsoft Word In Office Small Business Problem

I bought the m office small business 2007 and installed it on my new computer in july last year on vista. Then i got a free upgrade to w 7 from the manufacturer, and replaced vista, sometime in the fall. All worked fine, until today, when my word is just looking pretty messed up -there is an added icon like thingy on the page screen on any existing word doc. I open or i am trying to create- it looks something like a backwards p with two lines in the tail. Very weird!

I've tried as much as troubleshooting as i could have, but nothing works: i deleted and reinstalled the microsoft suite, i read and searched and looked everywhere, but can't find anything remotely similar to my problem. I'm sure someone out there has seen or heard of this before and might be able to point me in the right direction!
