How To Remove Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Detection Driver ?

Ok i have a common problem with booting my pc under windows 7 64bit. It was all fine booting rapidly for the last month or so that i've had it installed. Then it started to freeze for several minutes (anything between 5 mins and about 10 mins) during boot time at the loading windows screen.

I have since then tried the various things to get it to boot normally again, including tings which should theoretically not affect it as they've all been there before this problem started and booting fine, this includes:

Looking at recent hardware changes such as hd's i've added. Changing the sata drives about (i've got 3) getting boot under msconfig to use the max cores (it's a quad core) & memory (4gb). Looking at the bootlog files (nothing leaps out other than i'm apparently trying to load a couple of the drivers twice - i've listed this mornings bootlog at the bottom of this message for reference). Recovering to a point about a month ago before the problems started in the hope that this will uninstall newer drivers that might be the problem, and this is where i noticed what i think might be the cause as this seems like the point it went wrong.

I had added a microsoft mouse and keyboard and the wu offered an optional update of:

Microsoft - other hardware - microsoft mouse & keyboard detection driver (usb)

After installing this i'm pretty certain that the boot slowed right down, so i've tried to uninstall it. Only i can't find a way of doing so. As when i do a system restore to a point prior to the driver installing and the problem occurring, it does not ditch the driver, just seems to keep it. I then uninstalled intellipoint for mouse and keyboard and re-installed standard ps2 mouse. At the same time i removed my microsoft wireless usb keyboard & mouse, all with no effect. I restored my system back to current again and i'm coming back to what i think the problem is which is the.

Microsoft - other hardware - microsoft mouse & keyboard detection driver (usb)

But with no obvious way or removing it, i can't confirm that. Other notable points: during the boot the hd access is constant so it's working like crazy. The keyboard will be unresponsive to things like capslock or numlock though for the first half of the wait the numlock light is on and for the second half of the wait the numlock light is off. I think my default setting is for numlock off.

Mouse And Keyboard Freeze

I have looked at several threads in the forum but i haven't seen a real answer to this problem. I have a wireless comfort keyboard 4000 and wireless laser mouse 5000 (mouse and keyboard set). I have a motherboard with the nvidia 630i chipset and nvidia 8600 video card. I am running win 7 pro x-64.

At seemingly random times my mouse and keyboard will freeze. Tasks appear to still run and my disk activity light in on. Sometimes the hdd activity light is solid and sometimes it blinks. I used to be able to clear the problem by pressing the sleep key on my keyboard but that does not work any more. Sometimes the mouse an keyboard will unfreeze but most of the time i have to reboot.

I found a reference to kb976972 concerning nvidia usb but that did not solve my problem. I found a reverence to using a usb mouse instead of a wireless mouse. I don't have a usb mouse and besides if it is a wireless mouse problem then microsoft should fix it. I found a reference to removing kb9980302 to fix the problem.

I saw a reference to running a "clean boot" to see if there is a driver causing the problem. I have seen a process for changing power management for usb hubs. What i haven't seen is an answer that everyone says has cured the problem. Lots of people are having this problem. Can someone from microsoft please resolve it?

Usb Mouse And Keyboard Disabled

I managed to disable mouse and keyboard somehow when working in the device manager. My computer (acer revo 3600) only has usb ports so i can't undo my changes. The usb ports and mouse&keyboard are working. They work when i'm in the bios. The usb ports are not completely shut off in windows, my usb wlan is working. I've tried this:

- Safe mode (and all other modes offered in boot)
- Plug in new (previously unconnected) mouse in safe mode and normal mode.

What can i do?! Options are quite limited when i can't change anything in windows (7 x64).

Keyboard / Mouse Compatibility For 7000

I purchased keyboard/mouse 7000 which is supposed to be compatible with windows 7. However, immediately upon inserting the installation disc i am told there are compatibility issues with this version of windows. I did a check for a resolution and was told that i would be notified when a solution is found. When - next week - next month? My money is tied up in this set and i can get no use from it. I bought it on line, which would mean packing it up, shipping it back and requesting a refund at my expense.

Wireless Keyboard And Mouse Problem

I'm a tech and decided to report this, since i've seen multiple complaints of the same matter on the same forums. Its a win7 64-bit ultimate. The keyboard and mouse is natural wireless egronomic keyboard and mouse 7000. Started having problems 2 weeks ago approx. I uninstalled and reinstalled the intellipoint and intellitype software. Changed the batteries twice. Resynced many times no damage or anything spilled has happened to the keyboards usb cable keyboard and mouse works good.

The keyboard and mouse works good on another computer with winxp. Matter of fact i'm typing this message with the keyboard in question. I think possibly a patch issued is giving problems with a wireless keyboards and mouse.

No Usb Devices Works Except Mouse / Keyboard

There are some threads here about non working usb devices. I read them all (i think) and tried all different kind of solutions but none is working. I have a hp ex500aa-b1u desktop. I used to have xp enterprise. One day the mouse and keyboard stopped working. I suspected some kind of virus and after a lot of work managed to start it in fail safe mode, backed up my files and then reinstalled xp.
Mouse and keyboard started working but all oter devices i put in (usb flash memory, camcorder, usb disk etc) just get the message "unknown usb device". I installed w7 enterprise instead but still have the same problem.

Is it possible that i had a virus that did something to my bios? I also have a built in usb disk that came with the computer. This disk is found after maybe 15 minutes after startup. But the speed when copying something from it is very slow. Maybe 700 kb/s.

Keyboard / Mouse Inactive After Monitor Goes Into Sleep Mode

I seem to be having a problem with both the keyboard and mouse going inactive after my monitor goes into a "sleep" mode and is "woke-up". The mouse works for a few seconds after that and then "freezes& if i unselected the "turn monitor off after 1 hour", then i never experience the problem. I'd like to select "after 1 hour" as i leave my pc on constantly. I have the most recent drivers for my monitor (acer al2216w), am using a logitech "access" keyboard and ms wheel mouse optical usb. The drivers for the keyboard and mouse were installed by windows 7.

Usb Mouse / Keyboard Drivers Failing To Install

I have a strange problem with mouse and keyboard usb drivers can anyone suggest any way forward?

I have a desktop computer running windows 7, upgraded using a custom install from windows vista. It has a pair of hard drives configured as raid 1 and a usb mouse and keyboard. I recently had to replace the power supply after the old one failed and ever since then at each startup of windows i get a message that it is trying to install usb drives for 2 keyboards and one mouse (i only have 1 keyboard!) By downloading drivers from windows update. The install always fails and after this i am unable to use the mouse or keyboard in any usb ports apart from the ones they were connected to when windows started.

Trying to connect any other mouse or keyboard to the other usb ports after windows has started again generates the "device driver software was not successfully installed" message and the device is not usable.

Other usb devices work fine - e.g. I can plug a memory stick into any of the usb ports and that installs fine and works perfectly.

I tried doing a manual update in device manager which shows 2 keyboards and a mouse under the human interface device section but each time i tried update driver i had a "file not found" error and the device disappeared from device manager. I could only get them back by doing a system restore.

I have tried a windows repair boot, a chkdsk, a sfc /scannow and even a full system image restore back to before my power supply failed but none of these acions have made any difference.

I'm considering a full reinstall of windows 7 but this will be a pain as there will be quite a few applications to reinstall and i don't know for sure if it will fix the problem.

Can anyone suggest anything else?  Is it possible to manually copy / check / replace the exact driver files for usb keyboard and mouse?

Usb Keyboard / Mouse Not Working After Upgrade To Win7

Upgraded vaio vgn-fz290 to win 7 from vista. Have ms digital media pro keyboard and wireless intellimouse explorer 2. 0. Both work fine if i use them on another computer, and worked fine on the vaio before upgrading to w7. When i plug them in they do not show up in the "safely remove hardware" or under usb devices, keyboards or mice in device manager. When i plug the keyboard in the "f" function light comes on for 1 second and then goes out. When i plug in the wireless receiver for the mouse no lights come on.

Basically the computer acts like nothing is even plugged into the usb. Tried every usb port, same result. Also used my usb flash drive successfully in each usb port, so it is not a bad usb port. No splats show up in device manager. I have also tried an old usb keyboard, and get the same result. If i open "safely remove hardware" i see all other usb devices plugged in, but not the keyboard or mouse.

I have installed the w7 drivers from ms and no difference. I have uninstalled the drivers, no difference. I have uninstalled my primary laptop keyboard and rebooted, still won't recognize the usb keyboard. I can plug the keyboard and/or mouse into my mac mini server and it works like a champ.

I am utterly clueless on what else i can do and hate using a small keyboard and track pad at my desk.

Usb Mouse / Keyboard Stop Working Correctly

I originally had windows vista x64 on my computer (it is 8 months old, intel quad core 2. 0ghz, 6 gb ram etc). I installed windows 7 rc in july (clean install) and used it until 2 weeks ago, when i installed windows 7 professional edition (i reinstalled vista and then installed the windows 7 upgrade using the clean install).

Over the past few days, i have had problems with mouse and keyboard (both usb connected). The inputs start acting bizarrely. For example, using the scroll button in firefox causes the font sizes to change in firefox, instead of scrolling, and clicking on links opens the link in a new windows, not in the same window. Right clicking stops functioning. The keyboard input goes simultaneously strange- i can no longer type (for eg in firefox search boxes, or in wmp), of if i type, it uses another command to open something etc.

I do not understand what is going on! However, after rebooting, the problem goes away and everything works fine, until the next time it happens (has happened 3x now). I have tried my mouse and keyboard in my old laptop and they both seem to work fine. I have not receive any driver errors/ virus messages/ malfunction(bitdefender 2010) messages of any kind, and as far as i know, all drivers are up to date.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is there something wrong with my motherboard? And if so, why are there no error messages? And why do things work again after rebooting?

Ms Wireless Keyboard / Laser Mouse 5000 Intermittent Problem

I have an intermittent problem with my ms wireless keyboard and laser mouse 5000. Windows is not recognizing the receiver in "device manager" and will not allow any updates due to compatibility issues. My ms wireless has worked then when i re-boot, it will not work. I cannot find anything consistent about the problem so i can't troubleshoot the issue.

The only consistent thing is that when the device manager is reading a failure on the receiver, i can change ports and it doesn't change anything. I tried removing the drivers, and installing new drivers but nothing seems to help. What do i do to get win 7 device manager to recognize my wireless keyboard and mouse receiver?

Print On Microsoft Keyboard Is Fading

This is the second microsoft keyboard i have bought and it is doing the same as the first - the letters/numbers are disappearing the more i use it. Has anyone else had this problems i am not a touch typist there are only so many letters i can remember when the keys are blank! I do not understand this at all. It is obviously not a technical problem but it is a problem and one which microsoft should be aware of and try to remedy. Ideas:programs you are having problems with error messages recent changes you made to your computer what you have already tried to fix the problem

Win 7 Remove Trackpad Driver

I recently upgraded my sony vaio vgn-n365e laptop to windows 7. The trackpad initially worked fine without any driver download, except for the scrolling functionality. Then i downloaded an hp alps pointing device driver that was compatible with windows 7, and it worked great to enable scrolling.
However, after a few days and a few restarts, windows 7 won't recognize the trackpad anymore. I tried downloading both hp and sony alps drivers for win 7 32 bit, but nothing changes each time.
Sony says they won't update the alps pointing device driver published for my laptop model to work with windows 7.

Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse Macros

I have a sidewinder mouse, and sometimes, mid-game, a macro will be recorded, and somehow assigned to my right mouse button. As far as i can tell i'm not hitting the macro record button once (let alone twice, so it stops recording), and i'm definitely not going into the mouse properties and assigning that macro to the right button. Can someone tell me how this is happening, since it's getting really annoying, and sometimes very frustrating to fix? I believe it's the sidewinder x6, it's wired, with the adjustable weights and led.

Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse Freezes

I am using a microsoft sidewinder mouse and have encountered a strange problem. Occasionally the mouse will stop working and the usb device unplugged sound will play. This happens most frequently when gaming, but also it occurs during general use. Normally the mouse freezes for about 2-5 seconds, and up to, but never longer than, 10 seconds. The sidewinder has decorative lights, and these stay on most of the time, but during some of the longer freezes they will turn off.

The buttons do not work when the mouse is frozen. The strange thing is that the usb unplugged device sound plays, leading me to think this may be a defective mouse, however i cannot replicate the problem by pushing/pulling/wiggling the mouse's cable. Normally hardware problems can be replicated. The mouse worked fine for the preceding 9-10 months. Drivers are the latest version (7) and i have reinstalled them several times. Usb connectors are spotless. Other mice work flawlessly, but i do not have a second pc to test if the mouse works on a different machine.

Problem With Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse

I'm running windows 7 64-bit pro on a sony vaio f series laptop with a microsoft 5000 bluetooth notebook mouse. Or at least i was. Right after i got the mouse i began having intermittent disconnect problems with it. It would stop working, i would disable it, re-connect it via the bluetooth interface, and we'd be fine for a day or two, then it would stop working again. Sony tech support was no help, suggested i contact microsoft since the mouse was new.microsoft remote-d into my machine but couldn't diagnose the cause, so they sent me a new mouse. That arrived last week, and worked fine for about six days, until this evening, when it totally quit.

I have tried the disconnect - reconnect again, changed the batteries, the bluetooth interface indicates it is there, but it doesn't move the cursor at all. Tried hooking up mouse number one, but same result nothing happening. Any know issues here or any suggestions? I have a webinar presentation coming up wednesday evening and really need the mouse for that.

Bsod With Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000

Microsoft wireless mouse 6000 v2. 0 and keyboard 6000 v3. 0. Every time i start up my windows 7 desktop from shutdown or sleep, about 10 minutes in i get the bsod. It usually happens right about when my wireless keyboard and mouse starts lagging. This also happens when i change usb ports for the wireless transceiver.

After a restart, everything works fine. I did troubleshoot on devices and printers and i also did update drivers. Yet the problem still persists. This is a new windows 7 desktop. The wireless keyboard, mouse, transceiver worked fine with my vista laptop. I am getting concerned and frustrated at this problem. I have attached a photo of the bsod at this link .

Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000 Issue

I recently upgraded to windows 7 professional x64. I am using the latest intellipoint software (driver version 7. 10. 344. 0) and a wireless mobile mouse 4000. The scrolling in outlook calendars is extremely fast, no matter what i set the scroll setting to, even all the way to slowest. It appears to be about 4x the speed of a plug in generic brand usb mouse. It works just fine in ie8 and pdf files, but the scrolling acceleration does not seem to do anything at all even set all the way to the right. I primarily use this computer for cad and cam software and the scrolling in solidworks 2010 is so fast i am not able to use this mouse effectively.

Again it appears to be 4x as fast as the generic mouse. The second and most important problem is the very noticeable delay when clicking the middle mouse button, this is not a slight delay it is
About . 5 seconds. This is the primary button for rotating 3d models and at this point i have reverted to a $10 generic mouse to temporarily get the job done. Using mousinfo.exe you can see the delay when clicking the middle mouse button and no delay on the left or right mouse clicks. Keep in mind this hardware worked just fine in xp.

Using mousinfo.exe the "last z value" comes back +30 -30 with the mobile mouse 4000. On the generic mouse it comes back +120 -120 and there is zero delay on middle mouse button. I have reviewed and tried the following troubleshooting procedure from microsoft and i am still not able to resolve the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303091

Synaptics Touchpad Conflict With Microsoft Mouse

I am having a problem with win 7 and an apparent conflict with the synaptics touchpad. I have a microsoft mouse working so i can use the laptop, but the touchpad won't work. I have tried just about everything from uninstalling both the touchpad and the mouse to a clean install of windows. I have narrowed it down (after several clean installs) to what seems to be a conflict with outlook connector. After the clean install the touchpad has resumed working and then i had to reload all of my programming which is a real pain.

The touch pad seemed to stop working after i downloaded and installed the outlook connector to allow mapi connection to my msn.com emails. I can not keep up the clean install process (done at least 3 times). I have downloaded the synaptics driver direct from the company without a fix. Gateway says keep doing a clean install which is ludicrous. The touchpad driver says it is working properly with no conflicts even though it does not work. I believe that this is a windows 7 problem. Any further ideas would be appreciated. By the way once the synaptics touchpad stops working nothing short of a clean install will fix the problem, so i have a choice no outlook or no touchpad.

Drive Detection Failure

I tried to install the rc on a spare machine. It has an msi 6570 main-board which features a promise 20376 raid ide controller (according to the mainboard manual). Windows 7 rc couldn't find the western digital sata hard drive connected to the sata1 port. Is this just a matter of the rc not having a driver for this drive controller chip? I can try to locate an add-in sata card and bypass the on-board sata, but i'd rather not spend money on getting this working if i don't have to.
