Transferring Itunes Music

I transferred my music from my old computer to my new laptop, but itunes said they couldn't play or sync to my ipod until i authorized them on this computer. So i created an apple id like it said and went through and authorized all the songs and they all said they were already authorized on this computer. Then when i tried to sync them to my ipod it said they weren't authorized. ? What's wrong?

Transferring Win 7

I believe someone had posted the same or similar problem like i had. But i just want to make this specific. And i am not a computer professional and i need help with this. I owned a laptop that has 2 hard drive slots. I just bought an ssd and would like to had it installed with the windows 7.

My main drive is the stock hard drive which was originally windows vista home premium 64-bit, but i upgraded it with the windows 7 professional 64-bit (by using the upgrade cd) and it has been 7 months since i upgraded.

So here is my plan, i am going to install the new hard drive with my recovery cd for windows vista, and then i am going to upgrade it with the same windows 7 upgrade cd (or with the software i downloaded with the purchase). Then i will make my stock drive as my secondary drive or the storage drive. By the way, i want to have a clean install on the ssd! Is that going to work? If not can anyone please give me suggestions and step-by-step guidance to do it.

Transferring Files

My computer died last week as the motherboard decided to take a permanent vacation.

I have taken my old hard drive out which was running windows xp and there is no damage to any of the data (thank goodness). The hard drive is now in place in my new computer as a slave drive only (e).

I want to transfer the settings from the old hard drive to the new hard drive which is running windows 7. I know there is a file transferring wizard however as the drive that i want to transfer from is a slave drive in what they term as the "new
Computer", i'm at a loss as to how to handle it.

The most important thing i am trying to get to happen is to transfer my settings and data from incredimail. I also want all of my bookmarks and other data too, of course.

Can anyone please offer me a solution of how to use the transferring wizard to transfer from a slave drive to the c drive?

Itunes Will Not Open

I'm trying to open i-tunes from icon on left of screen but it's not opening at all! It used to work fine! I'm clicking my i-tunes icon at left of screen but although for a second or so the loading circle appears it quickly goes away and doesn't load/open. It used to work fine and all my other applications seem to be working. Only thing i've noticed is that when i switch my lap-top on it tries to update i-tunes and (i think it might be real-time player but not sure) but takes an eternity but also doesn't manage to complete this. It goes so far then gets stuck.

Transferring Files From Another Hd

My old computer's hard drive had a meltdown 2 weeks ago. I got a new computer with windows 7 on it and i'm just trying to transfer the files from my backup hd onto my new hd. I thought this would be an easy transfer but it keeps telling me "you need  permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this file"i keep hitting "try again" and nothing ever happens. I just hit cancel and nothing transfers. How do i fix this problem? I'm on the only account the computer has (which is an admin account) and i' getting to the end of my rope with all this.

Itunes Program Stuck

I have windows 7. My itunes program is stuck on the desktop. I can't use it, i can't close it, i can't move it. It's just stuck there. I can use other programs, but when i close them, the itunes program is still stuck on my desktop. It doesn't go away if i right click on the itunes icon at the bottom of the screen and click close. It doesn't go away or respond at all if i try to click the red x close square at the top right of the program window. It doesn't go away if i turn off the computer and turn it back on again.

Trouble Copying Music To Cd

I am trying to make a copy of some music onto a audio cd. I drag my selection to burn list, click on start burn and i get a message in a box saying "windows media player encountered a problem while burning the file to the disc. " Pressing the "web help" button brought me here. How can i find out what the problem is and how do i fix it. I have made several attempts to copy this music. Either nothing is on the cd or it just does not play on a cd player.

Ripping Music Files

I am using windows 7 home premium, 64 bit. Is it possible to store the same file at different bit rates? Wmp seems to automatically replace previously ripped, identical tracks. I want to see what difference the rates make to audio quality on an mp3 player.

Also, i am thinking about transferring all my cds to my pc (or a portable hard drive). I would wish to do so at the maximum lossless quality.could i then sync tracks from the ripped files to an mp3 player at a lower bit rate (to maximize the space on it)?  Or, would i have to burn to cd and then rip at a lower quality if i wanted to do that (which, depending on the answer above, might mean losing the previously ripped lossless files to the low bit rate ones and having to re-rip the original cds, negating the point of the original storage).

If wmp does automatically replace previously ripped files, is there a work-around solution to enable me to 1) compare the same files at different bit rates and 2) store lossless files and sync from them at different bit rates without replacing them?

Transferring Wma Files

When i transferred data, setting etc from old pc (xp) to new pc (windows  7) all files transferred ok except for the wma files from windows media player. When played the music is about a 2 second play then on to next song. Is this some restriction of license? Some of the music was purchased and downloaded online store. The remainder was ripped from cds that i own. The new files appear to be same size of old files. I did use the windows 7 transfer program on new and old pcs. Is there a conversion program to repair files or will all files needed to be downloaded or ripped from cds. The other possibility is i transferred them incorrectly. Any suggestions?

Password Authentication In Itunes

I subscribe to 3 podcasts from rss. Premiereradio.net using itunes. They require passwords. Two of them will download but they will not logon automatically using the scheduler and will not save the passwords. I have to enter them by hand every day. The third will not accept the password at all. I get a windows security box saying the website requires "unsecured authorization (basic authentication without a secured connection)" and will not go through.

I have changed security settings in internet options, i have unchecked "require authentication", i have added the site to "allowed sites", i have created a rule, i have contacted customer support on their side without result, i don't know what else to do. I never had this problem with xp. I've been using itunes for these subscriptions for 5 years.

Itunes Installation Error

I used pcmover to move programs and files from an old xp unit to a new windows7 unit. Itunes will not work on the new unit. When i try to update itunes it tells me "this itunes installer is intended for 32-bit versions of windows. Please download and install the 64-bit itunes installer instead. "  No matter what i do to uninstall the old version, i still get the same message. If i try to reinstall the new version, i get the same message. I have tried to remove all apple software through
The control panel's uninstall process. Nothing works. Can you help me totally remove this software (and hidden files) so i can reinstall the 64-bit version and resume use of my ipod?

Cannot Install Messenger Or Itunes

I just recently got a new computer with windows 7 on it. Naturally i want all the programs i had on my old one on here. When i open up messenger it says it needs to be updated, so i let it do what it needs to. When it starts the installer it gets to 57% and than stops. It gives me error code 2203 and says another program was preventing the installer from finishing.

I don't have anything running and i have it close everything when it asks. Regarding itunes, i downloaded the 64-bit installer after i realized the 32-bit won't work. I start it up and it says that something is preventing quicktime from being installed and that itunes requires quicktime. Then it closes. I don't know what to do.

Itunes Compatibility Issue

I bought a new laptop from dell with windows 7, 64 bit. I am apparently having compatibility issues with windows 7. When i open up i tunes i cannot hear any songs from my playlist or songs i download from their site. It's not my computer because i have sound otherwise. I have installed and uninstalled itunes several times to try to fix this problem, but to no avail. I have also sought the help of the support specialists team from dell, but they were not able to fix the problem and were quite rude. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

My Music Folder Missing

I have just installed windows 7 64 bit. After i completed the install and migrated my settings to the new computer from a vista install on my old pc, i tried to move the my music folder to a folder on a network drive. No idea what happened, but there is no longer a my music folder available - the one on the network drive doesn't have a location tab and i cannot locate it elsewhere.

In the library, nothing. Probably for an entirely separate reason it won't allow me to add the folder on the network drive to the library because it is not indexed.

I can see the reference to the my music folder in hkey_current_usersoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversionexploreruser shell folders, and it looks just like the other default personal folders there but otherwise no trace of it. All other folders are ok.

Can someone guide me how to simply restore the my music folder as a default?

Itunes Program Icons Issue

Lnk file type issue: my lnk file type was under the itunes music player program, instead it should on a shortcut type from an unknown application. One day, all of my icons turned into itunes icons, i turned it into the geek squad and they said i had a virus. So they fixed it and turned on my computer. As soon as i installed itunes again, the same problem happened again.

I looked into it and found out that my lnk file type was under the itunes music player program, instead it should on a shortcut type from an unknown application. Is there a way to get things back to normal so i can have my itunes back and my programs back to normal.

Transferring Outlook Files To Win7

W7 has been installed on an existing system but while files were backed up i don't think it was done in the correct manner. While i can see the . Pst files in both windows. Old & the backup location (external hd) i can't open them or transfer. Likewise if i transfer the windows contacts, windows live doesn't recognize them. Since installing w7 we are also having trouble with the sound or rather the volume. You can hear it out of the rear connection (using earphones)but not through the front or speakers. Sounds can be just heard but volume is too low to understand what is being said but the volume is set on high.

Playing Itunes On Media Player

What is the procedure for getting my itunes to show & play with windows media player? Some albums are visible and i have no problem playing them or sync-ing them with my cell phone that is running 6. 5. However the majority of the albums i can not figure out how to get them and all of their songs to be visible in wmp. In some cases, only 1 or 2 songs out of the album will be visible.

I have searched and can not find any distinction between the itunes albums/songs that are visible in wmp and those that are not. I have tried everything that i can think of in terms of sharing and folder/library settings, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Media Player Cannot Find Music

My problem is similar to the problem that amanda wise was experiencing except that i am running windows 7. After uninstalling and reinstalling windows 7 for a different problem, i lost my library in wmp. The files were backed up to an external hard drive. Now i cannot get wmp to go and get the files from the external drive. I installed musicmatch from an old disk and it had no problem finding all of my music. I can rip music from a cd with wmp but, a lot of my files were from vinyl and and it is time consuming to replace all of them. I prefer to use wmp because musicmatch will no longer support anything on the web.

Media Center Cannot Find Music

I have 100+ cd's stored as wav files under my music. They were ripped using exact audio copy and accuraterip. I have repeatedly pointed media center at the directory and instructed it to find my music files but it has not found one. There are currently 102 artist directories with close to 200 albums and more than 2500 songs in my music directory. Media center cannot find my video files either but it had no problem finding my pictures.

How do i get media center to see my music and video files?

Extremely Slow Music Import

I've got a fresh install of windows 7 on a new system and am adding music to my wmp library. The music folder is around 60 gb and is stored on my whs. The music import has been running now for almost 24 hours and is finally almost done. This seems like a ridiculous amount of time required to import music.

On my older vista system (much lower specs), the same import took way less time ( i think under a couple hours) and i was on a 100mbps ethernet. With the new system, i'm on a gigabit ethernet.

Why would it be taking so long under windows 7 compared to vista?

Note: i have unchecked the check box to retrieve additional information from the internet, and it didn't make a difference

System specs:
Amd ii x2 250 dual @ 3. 0 ghz
4 gb ram
Windows 7 32 bit

Itunes Will Not Open In Win 7 64-bit

I just installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my pc that was previously running vista home premium 64 bit. I installed the 64 bit edition of itunes 9. 2 on my pc, after installation i found that firstly it saved on the program files (x86) folder which is strange to say it was the 64 bit edition and secondly itunes would not open at all it does not even give any error messages or failures it just would not open. I opened task manager and saw that itunes was running as a processes under itunes.exe 32*, this is also strange because i downloaded a 64 bit edition but at-least shows that itunes is running.

I thought that maybe an existing program or process on my system was stopping itunes from showing so i started my computer in safe mode then opened itunes and it opened perfectly! This is very strange and i would prefer to use itunes in normal mode somebody help!

Ipod classic will not sync with my new windows 7 64 bit laptop seems like quite a few people are having this problem, well i've tried most of the options and still have had no luck. When i plug my ipod into itunes it recognizes the ipod but then freezes at the sync mode, the only way to get out of it is to go to task manager and exit there, ive done all the reinstalls etc. , But still have no joy the ipod will sync on my old xp machine, but i want to get rid of this and just have my new laptop running, is there anything i can do?, Or is this a problem with windows 7 64-bit and itunes.

Live Mail Transferring Files

I am going to have a "clean install" done on my computer. I am upgrading to windows 7 from windows vista home premium. I know i am going to lose all of my files , programs etc but, should i copy any e-mail folders i need to keep or is it possible to download them after the install is complete. I will be most appreciative to anyone that will answer this question for me. I know one of the programs i use for mail resides on the server and one resides on my computer when i bring it up to read and then place it in a file folder.
