D-link Dwa-130 Usb Wireless Network Connection Problem

My nic keeps loosing connection, i get a message saying default gateway not found and then i unplug the nic and plug it back in and it works for 5-10 mins then looses connection again, although my other pc keeps it's connection. I'm running windows7 64 bit. I've been told to uninstall the drivers that came with the nic and let windows install it's own drivers, does anyone know where i can find the windows drivers on the ms site?

Am i able to download the drivers then uninstall the d-link drivers and then install the windows drivers rather than connecting the pc hardwired to the router, this means i'll have to unplug the pc and move it to another location to wire it to the router which i don't really want to do.

Wireless Modem Connection Problems With D-link

I have a d-link wireless modem at home. I cannot connect my new laptop to this modem no matter how many times i run the wireless connection troubleshooter. I keep getting a message that the problem cannot be resolved and i need to try to find other solutions. I can connect to other wireless modems but not the one at home. My kids can all connect their computers to this wireless modem and our pc is connected via wireless. I am not very computer savvy so i need a simple solution.

Losing Wireless Network Connection

Running w7 home prem 32bit isp cable high speed, home network configuration. Service to cable modem to router. More often than not when i power on my wireless laptop i am not connected to my network. Windows shows networks are available, i see y network. And it shows good excellent signal levels, i run the windows diagnostics and it reads, power off router and and power back on and following this process the wireless latop gets connected to my network.

I have changed out the router, the issue continued. I have checked for updated network card driver, i have the latest available. Once connected i never loose the connection. And i would guess i have checked for firmware updates for router, none are available. I connect 3 out of 5 times when i power on the laptop. The network is wpa-psk with a security phrase set. Suggestions to resolve this issue?

Problems With Usb Wireless Network Adapter

Have purchased new hp desktop with windows 7 home premium. Have tried using d-link dwa-160 (reva) usb wireless adapter. Used latest updated software from d-link site (may be for vista 64 os as win 7 not listed). Wireless adapter works for short time and then loses connection. Have used win 7 wizard to fix problem. Indicates that driver for usb may not correct driver. Still disconnects throughout the day. Have un-installed software.

Deleted driver for dwa-160. Re-started computer with clean start. Plug usb adapter in and windows 7 does not even recognize that a usb device is connected. Have tried to "add a device" and win 7 still does not recognize that anything is connected to usb. Hp amd win 7 x64. Any help?

Linksys Wireless-g Usb Network Adapter Update Fails

I recently installed windows 7 on my pc that was previously running xp. Ever since installation i've had issues with my wireless adapter. Whenever my pc is shutdown, restarted, or left to sleep for extended periods the network monitor in the tray displays that there are no connections available (as if the system doesn't recognize the adapter).

I have been uninstalling/reinstalling the driver from the disk every time this happens. Also, the update mentioned in the title fails to install. Would this update fix my problem and how do i fix it?

D Link Wireless Adapter Compatibility

Trying to install dlink  dwl-g122 wireless network adapter onto new asus desktop. Error message saying 2 entrypoint files not found. It has been working fine on a 32 bit windows xp for a couple of years. Dlink tech people say that it is not compatible, no new drivers to update;  but windows 7 compatibility center says it is. My geek squad  people say that it might be the 32/64 bit issue. Also using the dlink di 624 wireless router. Also a 2nd computer in the house working fine with existing router.

D-link Wbr-2310 Wireless Will Not Connect

I have a new sony vaio with windows 7 installed. It will not connect with my home network. I can connect wireless to other networks (i've tried at wifi hotspots in coffee shops and at my work). I have checked that my router (d-link model wbr-2310) is compatible with windows 7 on the companies website and it says it is already compatible. I have updated both the atheros wireless network adapter and the ms virtual wifi miniport adapter. Another help forum suggested disabling the ms virtual miniport adapter, which i tried, and this does not work.

D-link Wua-1340 Network Adaptor Compatibility

Is d-link's wua-1340 network adaptor truly compatible with windows 7 even though d-link does not provide a windows 7 specific driver for this model? i.e. , Is there a driver embedded in windows 7 for this adaptor? I have purchased a 32 bit version of windows 7 professional. I am currently running xp pro and using a d-link wireless usb network adaptor (model no. Wua-1340).

There is no d-link windows 7 driver for this adaptor. However, according to microsoft's compatibility site, the product is "compatible" with "no action required". I simply want to know whetger or not the adaptor will function properly under windows 7 and whether or not i can use the xp driver for it, the vista driver for it, or alternatively, if there is a driver for the product embedded in the windows 7 product.

I had no trouble sharing my wireless network when the desktop was xp and the laptop was xp. Since replacing the desktop with a new windows 7 unit, i cannot manage to set up a network. I just purchased a new wireless printer, and i cannot set it up wirelessly either. I can network the printer to work with the win7 desktop if i connect the printer to my router with a ethernet cable. My router sees all 3 devices and i can ping the printer and the laptop from the desktop. The desktop is connected to the router via ethernet cable.

Wireless Connection Lost

I have a wireless connection for the internet set-up to my neighbors house and although my pc says there's a good signal between us, i often lose my internet connection, especially when microsoft have downloaded an update. I am sure the fault is somewhere in my own pc. When it does happen, i have to use system restore every time to re-establish the internet link. The fault number which appears is: 80072ee7, i being a silver surfer have no idea what that means or what to do about it.

Cannot Detect Wireless Connection

I have a wireless modem set up and other laptops in my house can get a signal but my own personal laptop cannot. The wireless network list on my computer shows that the network is detected and that i am connected. Despite this, the signal comes in and out and tends to be very weak. The signal on the bottom right shows full bars so the signal is supposedly very good but somehow i cannot get on the internet. I have tried multiple websites and the message that internet explorer cannot open the web page comes up.

Wireless Connection Service Error

I am currently using a sony vaio laptop. When i use the web function, my wireless connects without any problem. However, when i load my computer i cannot seem to connect. The troubleshooter says 'windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary dns server). Also, the ipv4 says 'internet', the ivp6 says 'no internet access'. I have tried following some of the other advice but the 'run' function will not allow me to run commands as the administrator, even though i am the only user on my laptop.

Vista And 7 Wireless Connection Problem

I am a customer in a bar that has a wireless access point. A new router was recently installed. I am running xp on my laptop. I have no problems connecting, but every person who comes in with a vista or 7 system gets limited connectivity or no connection at all. The router defaults to wpa/wpa2 - mixed mode. In my xp, i had to delete the old property for the old router and let the system create a new property for it. In my wireless networks connections, the property for the bar shows the setting as wpa2-psk as the network authentication, and aes as the data encryption. In the vista computers i have looked at, the settings that appear in the list are wpa2-personal and wpa2-e-something (can't recall the word).

In 7, i can't find this info at all. In vista and 7, the wireless networks tab does not show up in the wireless network connections properties. What do i need to do to correct these problems in vista and 7 so the other users here can connect to the new router?

Wireless Internet Connection Problems

I got a new sony vaio laptop for my birthday yesterday and i have spent all night and all of today trying to connect it to the wireless internet in my house. It has windows seven and my computer techonologically informed friend says that because my new laptop is with windows seven, but the router is hooked up through a vista computer, that it is not compatible and my laptop is not letting me connect to the wireless. When we tried to investigate the problem on my laptop, it says that it is connected to my netgear system, but the connection is not strong enough for me to actually use the internet.

I did not have this problem with my previous windows xp acer laptop. It didn't have a problem connecting and allowing me access to the router. My friend believes this is a fault with windows seven, and so i have turned to this site for help. We have investigated as many possibilities as we could but could not resolve the situation. Is there something wrong with my computer? Or is this a common problem that is easily fixed?

Using Both Wired And Wireless Connection - 1 For Internet 1 For Printer

Using both a wired connection and wireless connection - one for internet access, one for printer access. We have a business dsl account, where we get 5 static ip addresses. We use the dsl router to connect 2 computers, a nas, and another wireless router, to provide access to others.

We have a networkable hp officejet 8500 a909g, but no longer have any more available ports to add it to the network. What i contemplated doing was hard-wiring the printer to the wireless router, then using the wireless card on my laptop, and a wireless adapter on the desktop (these are the 2 computers hard-wired to the dsl router) to connect to the wireless router, allowing us to see the printer and use it.

However, whenever i do this, the wireless connections seem to take precedence over the wired connections, which sort of negates the fact that they are wired in the first place. Is there a way to give the wired connection precedence, and then using the wireless only when we need to print? And does the computer being connected to two networks at one cause any problems?

Wireless Connection Key Case Issue

I installed windows 7 on my hp tc4400. Im using wireless network. At home my wep key (64-bit) is all digits so it's no problem. At work, the wireless key (128-bit) combines bot digits and lower case characters. I found out that the wireless management automatically converts the lower-case alphabets into upper-case. That un-wanted conversion causing the problem because i cannot connect to network at work. How can i fix it?

Sitecom Wl-181 Wireless Connection Problem

A couple of days ago i bought a wireless system for my system(runs on windows 7 enterprise)since the very much beginning i actually have problems with it. On a windows xp computer connecting to the router goes flawlessly but with this pc it's a serious. When i start up the computer it starts with saying it can't connect because the information on the computer did not match with the router. It keeps on trying to connect but doesn't work. Then i have to delete the connection info, and add it manually to the network list to connect to that. I have to use wpa personal (tkip) else i can't connect.

When i let it detect it automatically it says it's wep protected(on windows xp it says it correctly)the icon in the right bottom corner constantly is showing a red cross that it's not connected(i can use internet though) the adapter is a sitecom wireless n-network-pci-card wl-181i downloaded the latest drivers and even the utility(but that's a program) does anybody know a solution?

When i try to connect to my home network wirelessly it shows the network connection but when a selection is made it prompts for a network security key.
