No Wireless Connection - Message: Not Connected

Have a dell inspiron (os=win7) with a wireless 1397 wlan mini card on board. Till yesterday i was able to make wireless connections to the internet, but after that i was not able to make this connection. Receive message: not connected. Removed this wireless card, updated the drivers but nothing works. The windows problem solving application does not give information that solves the problem or provides info/details to solve it.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Pc To Pc Connection Unable To See Usb Connected Printer

Pc to pc connection with crossover cable - unable to 'see' usb connected printer from a second linux pc. I had a shared printer connected to an  winxp pc from a linux second pc connected by a crossover cable. Since upgrading from xp to windows 7 although i can ping in both directions, i am unable to see the printer from the linux box. I fear this is something simple that i am missing, but am mystified as to how to set up a printer share between the 2 pc's.

I have the crosover tcpip connection set up as 192. 168. 13. 55 and 60 respectively with a subnet mask of 255. 255. 255. 0 and both pc's declared as members of a workgroup called workgroup - nada, nothing zilch. What haven't i done or where can i look to check the set up required to re-establish the share i had with winxp?

Laptop Does Not Connect To Printer Connected To Wireless Router

Windows 7 wireless laptop does not connect to printer connected to netgear wireless router the printer must be restarted every time i want to print from the wireless windows 7 laptop (through the use of the printer on/off switch. ) The hp 2820 mfp printer has a network card and is connected to the netgear dgn2000 router. I have used the built-in troubleshooting devices from the windows control panel but the problem continues. (Note the laptop was upgraded from vista and the printer worked ok. Also the router was upgraded from an old 2-wire router that died. So, unfortunately i have two variables).

Wireless Connected To A Domain For Multiple Users On The Same Laptop

I am in a hospital setting. We have several wireless laptops where users will need to connect to the wireless network and be able to login to active directory. I have found a way to do this for a single user on the laptop but these laptops are used by multiple users. Windows 7 will use one users domain credentials to connect to the wireless network and also login to the domain, but it will not do this for any other users that use the laptop. It appears that it will only remember one users credentials. I assume this is by design but i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do this for multiple users on the same laptop. I know i could create a single service account to accomplish this but we prefer not to do this for security reasons.

Any other suggestions?

Wireless Connection Lost

I have a wireless connection for the internet set-up to my neighbors house and although my pc says there's a good signal between us, i often lose my internet connection, especially when microsoft have downloaded an update. I am sure the fault is somewhere in my own pc. When it does happen, i have to use system restore every time to re-establish the internet link. The fault number which appears is: 80072ee7, i being a silver surfer have no idea what that means or what to do about it.

Cannot Detect Wireless Connection

I have a wireless modem set up and other laptops in my house can get a signal but my own personal laptop cannot. The wireless network list on my computer shows that the network is detected and that i am connected. Despite this, the signal comes in and out and tends to be very weak. The signal on the bottom right shows full bars so the signal is supposedly very good but somehow i cannot get on the internet. I have tried multiple websites and the message that internet explorer cannot open the web page comes up.

Wireless Connection Service Error

I am currently using a sony vaio laptop. When i use the web function, my wireless connects without any problem. However, when i load my computer i cannot seem to connect. The troubleshooter says 'windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary dns server). Also, the ipv4 says 'internet', the ivp6 says 'no internet access'. I have tried following some of the other advice but the 'run' function will not allow me to run commands as the administrator, even though i am the only user on my laptop.

It tells me that a connection cs available which is my wireless router but it keeps sending me this troubleshoot message and it wont let me connect. I tried set up wizard but it says now that i don't have any ethernet connection either.

Vista And 7 Wireless Connection Problem

I am a customer in a bar that has a wireless access point. A new router was recently installed. I am running xp on my laptop. I have no problems connecting, but every person who comes in with a vista or 7 system gets limited connectivity or no connection at all. The router defaults to wpa/wpa2 - mixed mode. In my xp, i had to delete the old property for the old router and let the system create a new property for it. In my wireless networks connections, the property for the bar shows the setting as wpa2-psk as the network authentication, and aes as the data encryption. In the vista computers i have looked at, the settings that appear in the list are wpa2-personal and wpa2-e-something (can't recall the word).

In 7, i can't find this info at all. In vista and 7, the wireless networks tab does not show up in the wireless network connections properties. What do i need to do to correct these problems in vista and 7 so the other users here can connect to the new router?

Losing Wireless Network Connection

Running w7 home prem 32bit isp cable high speed, home network configuration. Service to cable modem to router. More often than not when i power on my wireless laptop i am not connected to my network. Windows shows networks are available, i see y network. And it shows good excellent signal levels, i run the windows diagnostics and it reads, power off router and and power back on and following this process the wireless latop gets connected to my network.

I have changed out the router, the issue continued. I have checked for updated network card driver, i have the latest available. Once connected i never loose the connection. And i would guess i have checked for firmware updates for router, none are available. I connect 3 out of 5 times when i power on the laptop. The network is wpa-psk with a security phrase set. Suggestions to resolve this issue?

Wireless Internet Connection Problems

I got a new sony vaio laptop for my birthday yesterday and i have spent all night and all of today trying to connect it to the wireless internet in my house. It has windows seven and my computer techonologically informed friend says that because my new laptop is with windows seven, but the router is hooked up through a vista computer, that it is not compatible and my laptop is not letting me connect to the wireless. When we tried to investigate the problem on my laptop, it says that it is connected to my netgear system, but the connection is not strong enough for me to actually use the internet.

I did not have this problem with my previous windows xp acer laptop. It didn't have a problem connecting and allowing me access to the router. My friend believes this is a fault with windows seven, and so i have turned to this site for help. We have investigated as many possibilities as we could but could not resolve the situation. Is there something wrong with my computer? Or is this a common problem that is easily fixed?

Using Both Wired And Wireless Connection - 1 For Internet 1 For Printer

Using both a wired connection and wireless connection - one for internet access, one for printer access. We have a business dsl account, where we get 5 static ip addresses. We use the dsl router to connect 2 computers, a nas, and another wireless router, to provide access to others.

We have a networkable hp officejet 8500 a909g, but no longer have any more available ports to add it to the network. What i contemplated doing was hard-wiring the printer to the wireless router, then using the wireless card on my laptop, and a wireless adapter on the desktop (these are the 2 computers hard-wired to the dsl router) to connect to the wireless router, allowing us to see the printer and use it.

However, whenever i do this, the wireless connections seem to take precedence over the wired connections, which sort of negates the fact that they are wired in the first place. Is there a way to give the wired connection precedence, and then using the wireless only when we need to print? And does the computer being connected to two networks at one cause any problems?

Wireless Connection Key Case Issue

I installed windows 7 on my hp tc4400. Im using wireless network. At home my wep key (64-bit) is all digits so it's no problem. At work, the wireless key (128-bit) combines bot digits and lower case characters. I found out that the wireless management automatically converts the lower-case alphabets into upper-case. That un-wanted conversion causing the problem because i cannot connect to network at work. How can i fix it?

Sitecom Wl-181 Wireless Connection Problem

A couple of days ago i bought a wireless system for my system(runs on windows 7 enterprise)since the very much beginning i actually have problems with it. On a windows xp computer connecting to the router goes flawlessly but with this pc it's a serious. When i start up the computer it starts with saying it can't connect because the information on the computer did not match with the router. It keeps on trying to connect but doesn't work. When i let it detect it automatically it says it's wep protected(on windows xp it says it correctly)the icon in the right bottom corner constantly is showing a red cross that it's not connected(i can use internet though) the adapter is a sitecom wireless n-network-pci-card wl-181i downloaded the latest drivers and even the utility(but that's a program) does anybody know a solution?

Okay, i just recently upgraded from windows vista to windows 7 ultimate, everything seems to work fine except for the fact that my laptop isn't detecting my wireless router bthomehub-0025. All the other wireless access points show on the box connect to a network. Then i went to set up a manual connection and i typed in the ssid box.

When i clicked next it said this network already exist and i clicked on that option and it took me to the connect to a network box and still bthomehub-0025 was not there. My ps3 and xbox works fine with this internet connection bthomehub-0025, its only my laptop with the windows 7.

D-link Dwa-130 Usb Wireless Network Connection Problem

My nic keeps loosing connection, i get a message saying default gateway not found and then i unplug the nic and plug it back in and it works for 5-10 mins then looses connection again, although my other pc keeps it's connection. I'm running windows7 64 bit. I've been told to uninstall the drivers that came with the nic and let windows install it's own drivers, does anyone know where i can find the windows drivers on the ms site?

Am i able to download the drivers then uninstall the d-link drivers and then install the windows drivers rather than connecting the pc hardwired to the router, this means i'll have to unplug the pc and move it to another location to wire it to the router which i don't really want to do.

Wireless Internet Is Connected But No Internet Access

I just bought a new computer with os windows 7. As i was doing the set-up, it asked about the home wireless network and i identified it and entered the internet key. After the set-up was over, i cannot connect to the wireless network. It says connected and no internet access. It has the public icon and "unidentified network".

I have a "network error" window that keeps popping up that says "another computer on this network has the same ip address". I tried one of the solutions on this site to resolve it. I used the command prompt to release and renew the ip address and seems to not have worked. How can i get a valid ip address? And how can i make my computer recognize the home wireless network?
