Asus P5ad2-e Audio Device Driver Not Properly Installed

I did a clean install of windows 7 on 2 identical computers with the asus p5ad2-e motherboard. Both have the same problem: a message "no audio output device is installed". Letting windows try to solve the problem then results in an attempt to reinstall the device driver, which fails with the message "high definition audio device has a driver problem". Nothing i tried so far (uninstalling the driver, manually installing a realtek driver for windows 7) has worked.

Asus P5vd2-mx Motherboard Audio Device Driver

Audio device driver required - windows 7 64-bit - asus p5vd2-mx motherboard - cpu: socket 775 - audio device "unknown". Ok, as the title says, i need the correct windows 7 64-bit driver (fyi. Asus do not have any win7 drivers for my board except for bios flashers)

Previous: new computer (to me its new, it was my brothers) worked fine for him but came with all drivers pre-installed (he also used win7 64-bit)

I formatted the drive and re-installed win7 64-bit. It showed the device as working including in the device manager, however, no matter what i did i got no sound. I tried to find drivers online and found one saying it was the win7 64-bit driver, it installed fine but had to reboot to finish the install, o nreboot it gave an error as i logged back in (cant remember what it was now) and now there is no device showing up at all anywhere not even in device manager and not even showing "unknown device"

I have been to asus website and tried the win vista 64-bit audio driver for my motherboard and it says it is not compatible.

Note: i have been through the entire faq on the asus website and they have no useful information what so ever, as with the forums.

Note: have also checked in playback devices panel and shown disabled hardware. Still nothing
I have tried using sis software "sandra-lite" and it cannot detect any audio devices

If this is a bios version problem and i have to flash it, please let me know and if possible provide a link to the correct flasher. Ive not flashed a bios since 1998.

Update Audio Driver For Asus Motherboard P5ld2-fm

My computer has an asus motherboard (p5ld2-fm) with an onboard audio chip (from realtec). After installing windows 7, i have no more audio: on my screen right under i see a speaker with a red cross. By hovering over this symbol, it says "no audio output device is installed". I suppose that asus has no suitable driver for my motherboard. Not a big problem as it is my spare computer, but my question is: as soon as the right drivers are available, will they com automatically with the updates from windows 7, or must i look on a regular base on the asus website for those drivers?

No Audio Output Device Installed

I had the same problem before. I upgraded to windows 7, had the red "x" on the audio and fixed it pretty easily with realtek high def audio driver. That's all i can remember from that. Well i bought a new printer and had to downgrade back to vista and that's when the sound messed up again. I tried to fix it with vista but was told i should go back to windows 7 so i did and the problem still persists.

I have a compaq presario sr5113wm and from my knowledge my sound card model is a creative sb live! Series (wdm). Everytime i start my computer the action center pops up with messages saying "address your sound card" or something like that so when i go to the device manager to check the sound, video and game controllers the only option listed is my webcam mic. Realtek or creative are not listed and i tried installing and uninstalling everything and i still get nothing! I keep getting people telling me to take the sound card out but i really want to leave that as a last resort and try to fix this technically. I've done it before but maybe i'm missing something.

No Audio Output Device Is Installed

I've already tried updating the driver, but the solution did not work and none of the other solutions are possible for me to even try. I haven't had problems with sound until randomly a little while ago. I have a dell inspiron 1440 on windows 7 64 bit home premium. On the bottom corner, there is a red x next to the sound icon and when i check for playback and recording devices, it just says that none are installed. This is a very frustrating problem.

Audio Output Device Is Not Installed

I just got the "no audio output device is installed" message for the second time. I can't remember what i did last time to fix it, but i've tried everything that people have suggested on multiple threads concerning this. It was literally working last night as i was listening to music, today when i turned it on it said i had no audio output installed. I have an hp pavillion dv9500. I upgraded from vista home 32-bit to windows 7 pro 64-bit, but never had a real problem until now.

I tried to find the driver on the hp site, but the driver didn't work. I've even tried to restore my computer to a week ago when i got a system update, but it keeps failing. There is also an exclamation mark on the co-processor under other devices in the device manager, but i have no idea what it is, and my sound, video, and game controller section pulled a houdini on me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also in device manager under other devices there is an unknown device with no driver. How can i resolve this issue when i don't know what the device is?

Error - Device Driver Software Was Not Successfully Installed

Error device driver software was not successfully installed. This device cannot start (code 10) for cddvd drive. I am running windows 7 on a hp pavilion a1600n and sometime over the last month the dvd/cd drive stopped recognizing dvd and cds. It is opening and closing and spinning the disk when i put them in the drive, just not recognizing anything beyond that.

The device status reads this device cannot start (code10). From what i could find online code 10 was a hardware general purpose error. I have tried switching out for another dvd/cd drive and even switched out the cable inside to see if that was the error, it was not.

When i plugged the second dvd/cd drive in it tried to locate the drivers online and and informed me that device driver software was not successfully installed. I have been trying to find some sort of solution online to no avail.

Required Device Driver Can't Be Installed Issue

I purchased the download version from my son's university to update his lenovo t61. I go through the entire process of download and creating the upgrade dvd. When trying to run it i first get the dvd device can't be written to. The school then told me to copy the files to my desktop (box1, box 2, and win7-p-retail_en-us-x86. When i run from desktop it completes 1) copying windows file, 2) gathering file settings, and 3) expanding windows files.

It then fails with a generic 'required device driver cannot be installed' and it ends the upgrade. I am trying upgrade vs custom. I've also downloaded and burned the dvd multiple times to make sure that wasn't the problem. Is something in vista stopping me?

Microsoft Win 7 High Definition Audio Device Driver

Microsoft windows 7 high definition audio device driver wrongly swaps c sub and rl rr audio jacks. This is a really bizarre thing that is driving me up a wall. I ran windows xp media center edition 2005 on my hp m1050y and the device ran as expected for years.

Then, i upgraded to windows 7 and my rr speaker emits sounds that are supposed to come from the subwoofer.conversely, the subwoofer emits sounds that are supposed to come from the rr speaker.

I also noticed that the speakers properties dialog displays the wrong colored jacks in the jack information section. C sub should be orange and rl rr should be black. However, on this dialog the c sub is black and the rl rr jack is orange.

Rolling back to windows xp fixes the problem. Installing newer realtek drivers for windows 7 fixes that problem but makes it so that i cannot control the headphones and rear l r speaker jacks independently, and cannot hear the headphones without turning up the speakers' volume.

Hp does not offer an updated driver for this device for windows 7. I have also done a strange thing and installed and run mac os x on this machine just to test the audio and even in that os the speaker jacks work correctly, just as they did in windows xp media center edition 2005. The problem definitely is in the windows 7 version of the driver for this device. From what i have read it appears to have also been in the vista version of the driver.

Does microsoft have a hotfix available that addresses this problem? Or, is there a way to swap the jacks in the driver? The chipset is the alc880.

I do not want to manually swap the plugs and jacks as this will not work for any other os i might also boot on this machine. Installing the generic realtek driver also is not an option as i need to be able to have separate control over headphones and speaker volumes.

I need maximum interoperability between operating systems as well as independent control of front and back green audio jacks. No other operating system, including older windows operating systems, have these jacks wrong but vista and windows 7. Anyone know of a solution or of a registry tweak i can do which will swap the jacks in the driver itself?

Usb Flash Drives Device Driver Software Not Successfully Installed

Usb external drives, usb flash drives "device driver software not successfully installed". Acer and windows 7 problem. Not sure which one i am more frustrated with. Acer or microsoft trying to get decent customer service out of either seems so difficult. Ok, its a common enough issue.

I've seen this everywhere in other forums and every finger points back to microsoft. Usb flash drives, jump drives, memory sticks, thumb drives, whatever they are called, they don't work on my acer laptop. Yet all work perfectly well on my vista pc and my work xp. So they are not damaged. Also a freecom external 1tb usb drive. Doesn't work on win 7.

I have an acer 5338 (less than a year old) which sadly as windows as an oem so microsoft aren't interested in helping saying it's acer's problem. Acers website doesn't even acknowledge existence of the the model laptop i have which makes contacting them for a solution physically impossible (anyone got a phone number or email address>). Anyway they had a free upgrade to win 7.

(Oh you cannot imagine how much i wish i hadn't. ). So i upgraded. And all usb memory devices suddenly don't work. Ll of them try to load drivers then give up with the error message. Just to get the usual answers out of the way!I've tested the usb ports. All work. I've uninstalled all the usb ports and let win 7 re-install them. No problem i've cleared the file that keeps records of drives.

I did a new clean install. Nothing changed. Can't upgrade chipset drivers. Won't let me, says i don't need them every drive appears during the boot screen. Every drive appears in device manager but showing as fault. Updated, installed, deleted, re-installed every driver on the planet. Tried the 'regedit' solution suggested elsewhere, fragged my laptop, lucky i system restored up. Doesn't appear on disk management so can't deal with any drive letter conflicts. Have no virus.

Have only one firewall installed. Have prayed have hit the flipping thing have pleaded have pretended to cry. Not interested. So, i am hoping against hope that someone has a solution to this issue. I have a vague thought that it could be something to do with 'ports' and port settings. That, i am afraid is a closed book to me, so please, geniuses everywhere, give me something new to try! Or a way to speak to a human at acer!

Apple Mobile Device Driver Issue With Mtp Device Driver

How do i get windows 7 to accept the 'apple mobile device driver' instead of the 'mtp device driver'? It is driving me nuts! Frequent itunes sync issues occurring. Suggestion is that windows is treating as a camera instead of ipod which makes sense given it asks me if i want to import pictures each time i connect the ipod. I need to get it to update driver from mtp to apple mobile but cannot get it to do it as it keeps saying no compatible driver in the file.

Asus G51v Driver Problems

I have an asus g51v (purchased at best buy, which originally came with vista, but i upgraded to win 7), none of it's drivers install. The usb drives, ethernet, wireless, and audio don't work at all. I have no solution so far. It appears to be a problem w/ the registry, i think somebody messed with that.

What i have tried:
-System restore (doesn't fix)
-Uninstalling, then re-installing via device manager
-Windows repair (doesn't work since there isn't internet)

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Asus Drw 22b2s Cd/dvd Drive Driver Error

When installing windows 7, i have finally managed to get past the installation screen without it blue screening (that, however, is a whole different story) and now it stops before the installation begins, complaining that the cd driver can not be found. It then proceeds to look for the driver (on the cd drive, no less, proving to me that it must be working decently enough) and finds nothing. Browsing for more folders reveals nothing.

System info: i'm installing the 32-bit version from from a dvd onto an old machine with an 80gb hard drive and sufficient ram. The only dvd drive is an asus drw 22b2s cd/dvd drive, for which there are no drivers available online, nor did it need any to run on windows 2000 which was the previous os on the machine (however i've wiped the hard drive for the installation). The copy of windows 7 is a legit version, but still won't install. I've been browsing through other topics here and on different sites and none of their solutions work. Is there a way to get around this - or better yet, a solution?

No Device Installed

I recently completed an os install. I went from xp pro to windows 7. It appears that everything installed correctly and it was even able to update a few drivers. That being said i am having one major issue and i'm seeing a lot of redundant and incorrect information on the net. I'd like to post in respect to what i've done and see if perhaps i have missed something. Before we start here a few important stats about my machine:

Os: windows 7
Motherboard: asus sk8v
Chipset: k8t800

My sound card:
sound blaster live! (Wdm)
Model: sb0200

This issue is:

The speaker icon on the bottom right of the tool bar has a red x indicating the following under the "playback tab": "no audio devices are installed".

 Under the "recording tab":
"Microphone"
"Logitech"
"Microphone (pro 4000)"
Default device:there is a green circle with a check mark beside the microphone icon.

My headset is the logictech pro 4000. It is a headset and microphone all-in-one. It is powered by usb. If i plug the device in my playback shows this headset as my sound. There is no option to change to another sound device because windows 7 does not recoginize the sound card. When i look in device manager under sound it just shows the headset. I've tried removing the headset driver then rebooting with the headset unplugged. It simply puts the driver back on. I've tried downloading several sound blaster drivers, the problem is when you try to install these drivers the install stops because it reports there is no sound blaster device on the machine. I've also tried running a driver from windows vista, no go. What i need to figure out is how to make the device manager recognize the sound card. I think it's coming up under the heading of:
Other devices-
                      -Multimedia audio controller
                      -Pci input device

I think that is my card because:
1. It clearly states it is an audio controller
2. It is plugged in via a pci slot

So again my question would be how do i make the device manager or windows 7 recognize the multimedia audio controller recognized as sound blaster? If i can get the system to recognize the card as sb then i am sure i can get the drivers to do their job. Windows compatibility page states there are no drivers for this device, and the solution is to go out and get a sound card that is compatible with windows 7.

This card ran flawlessly on windows xp. As a matter of fact i had multiple sound options installed. I used the logitech headset with microphone for online use with ventrilo. I used the sound card separately with a different set of headphones and an actual microphone for doing voice i created a "karoke like" player where people could sing along with songs from a host of different applications like itunes, limewire, jukebox etc. So i know the sound the card works. I just need to make windows 7 recognize it.

Audio Device Is Disabled

I've gone back and forth looking through countless websites / forums for a solution to this, but i cant seem to find one. My computer's sound card would used to start acting funky after i left it on for a day or 2, and would require a restart, and after restarting from one of these, the sound stopped working altogether, my sound card is integrated into my motherboard. I also cant watch videos now since my sound stopped working, but video games work fine. As well towards the oddness, my internet connection tab in the bottom right of my screen says i'm not connected to anything, but im actually fine.

Cannot Enable Audio Device

I have a laptop toshiba tecra m11 with w7 64 pro. After a windows update i do not have any more sound. I cannot enable the audio device. - I do not have a restore point to use

- I have tried to disable/enable the sound card
- I have tried to de-install and re-install the sound card
- I have tried both drivers, 1 from the toshiba support website, one from the sound card manufacturer, realtek. Both not working

- Windows device manager tells that the sound card is working properly even if there is a cross (white cross inside a red circle) telling 'no speakers or headphones are plugged in".

- After running the troubleshooter, i am told the audio device is disable. I cannot enable it. I would like some sound. Any help ?

Dvd Device Driver Blocked - Unable To Use Device Code 48

I get a code 48 message. I have an intel d945psn board that has run w2000 on a eide hard drive. I upgraded to windows 7 with a new sata hard drive clean install, but transferred files with pc mover. Now my dvd burner(s) don't work citing the infamous code 48 and saying that the software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with windows.

Aren't cd/dvd device drivers pretty standard, and included with the bios?  How do i deal with that problem. I have tried to update drivers through "driver access", but the problem persists. The device doesn't even show up in windows explorer or my computer, but can be seen in device manager and on the cmos menu. The same is true of my second, identical sata hard drive. It appears that some of my important system drivers have been blocked.

No Sound Device Installed

I have upgraded from vista 32bit to windows 7 ultimate 64bit, i have not made any hardware changes, apart from formatting my hard drive and then clean installing windows 7. It i saying that i don't have a sound card, which i do, i have a creative t9700, i cannot find drivers for it and when i troubleshoot it to let it find its own drivers it returns without any drivers. I have installed windows 7 as a present for my father who hates me going anywhere near his stuff because i am cursed with this unlucky streak of if it can go wrong it will.

No Recording With Usb Audio Device

I choose to play the audio output of my pc via a hi-end usb dac rather than the scabby wee green hole. But as soon as i connect it (or any external usb sound-card) all internal audio input to the stereo mix disappears. Stereo mix remains the only and active device in the sound 'record' tab (other than microphone) with or without the dac connected but any signal showing activity on the bar meter when not connected disappears when connected.

As all recording software, including the basic windows recorder, still see only the stereo mix recording source option then no recording is possible whilst monitoring via the dac. I have to disconnect it and monitor any recording from said green hole. Then, once recorded, swop back again.

As i make music, entirely pc based, then i require as good and true a monitoring system as possible, thus the dac, but it's a bit of a nonsense that having got my mix just so via the dac, i then have to disconnect the thing just so's i can record it down onto two tracks of audacity or the like. And then connect it back to listen to the final result. Am i doing something wrong/missing the point somewhere please?

Audio Output Device Not Working

I have a toshiba a215-s7444 laptop that i have had for 2yrs. It originally came with vista 32 bit installed and 2gb of ram and i added 1gb of ram a year later and all was fine. I recently did a format and custom install of se7en 64 bit. Now everytime that i resumed form "hibernation mode" i had no audio and got the error message that "no audio device is installed and it does not even appear in the device manager. When it runs the diagnostic it tells me that "new hardware may have not been detected. Now upon reboot everything is fine.

I have audio and in the device manager is the realtek hi-definition audio device. But resuming from sleep mode everything worked just fine. Ok so i updated the windows experience index score hoping that it would recognize the new hardware change. But the prob. Persisted. So the other night i added another 1 gig of ram for a total of 4gb. And all 4 gigs are being used, in the control panel>system and security>system it says installed memory (ram): 4 gb ram (3. 87 usable).

So i am fairly sure that it has recognized the added hardware change. Now after adding the 4th gig it recovers from hibernation mode just fine but when coming out of sleep mode i lose my audio device. Until i reboot or restart-lol. Anybody have any ideas besides the obvious just use hibernation mode only. Or is this a question for the toshiba forums?
