Data Drive D Not Accessible

I lost access to my data drive d . I know what i did but just cant get the access back.
I right clicked on d drive selected properties then security tab . I selected guest account and check all deny boxes for this account . A warring popped up saying something like " if you a member of 2 or more accounts the deny will come over the allow " not sure what was exactly written but it was something sound like that.

However, now i have no access to this drive even if i sing as admin. And cant change the security setting i get a message " not accessible "i tried some solution i found on internet such as, login in safe mode . But no luck.

Secondary Drive Or Any Usb Drive Is Not Accessible

After installing windows seven on my primary drive (followed the installation procedures for 7 on 32 bit xp pro) all works fine except my secondary drive or any usb drive is not accessible.get error message they are not available. They are in the setup bios and in devices, but in my computer if i left click i get the error message.

However my secondary disk is a sata 500 gig drive. Windows 7 will recognize dvd/cd drive but only the "c' drive (of hard drives)> i have tried usb drives in addition to the sata but it does not read them, only tells me they are not accessible. The one exception was the windows easy transfer data sent to a usb disk made prior to loading windows 7.

Usb Drive Not Accessible

I have several external drives, all of which worked just fine under windows 7 originally using default drivers. About 1 month into working with windows 7, two of my external drives are now inaccessible, giving the following error message.

"Usb device not recognized: one of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. " Device manager shows it as a flagged "unknown device. "

Worked fine for a month or so, stopped working, doesn't sound like a driver issue to me. First one drive stopped working under windows 7, then about a week later the second stopped working under windows 7. Both drives still work just fine under xp. Any suggestions?

Drive Not Accessible At All On Hdd

I have a 500gb hdd. It had been partitioned into 2 drive, g:/ and h:/. I have no idea why g:/ is not accessible but h:/ allow me to go into the drive. Hence, i logon as administrator and found that g:/ is actually accessible. I can delete, move and copy files. I even set it all allow on permission.

When i login in back to my user/administrator mode, i am still unable to access the drive at all. Base on all the drives i have on my computer, everyone of i will indicate how many disk space i have left except for g:/, which there's no bar for me to view it at all. Can someone help me with it? I'm totally lost. And also, why at times i have to login as administrator to install certain stuff when i am the administrator as well?

Second Hard Drive Is Not Accessible

I recently installed windows 7 64 bit onto one of my extra hard drives. However i was using xp pro before on my 1tb drive and i could not upgrade nor reformat due to the amount of data i needed to keep. I had no other drive to transfer my files to so i had to use another hard drive. When i try to access my 1tb drive it gives me an error saying "f: is not accessible access is denied". I have done everything i can think of as far as giving myself the permission to access the drive and whatnot so i'm really in the dark at this point. Formatting is not an option.

Drive Is Not Accessible - Permission To Use Network Resource

I have done a clean win 7 64 bit install on c drive on my pc that used to be xp. The hard drive has two partitions c drive and d drive. The win 7 pc also has two other hard drives installed each with a single partition (e drive and v drive). The hard drives are not raid configured. The e and v drives were not involved in the win7 installation and therefore still have their xp configuration.
Prior to installing win 7 all partitions on all hard drives on the pc were accessible on the three other xp machines on my "workgroup" home network.

On the win7 machine i can access all drives on all of the xp machines. On any of the xp machines i can access the e and v drives on the win7 machine. When i try to access the win7 c drive or d drive from any of the xp machines i get:

"Pcpc (x) drive is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource" where (x) is either c or d depending on what drive was accessed.

I have tried un-sharing and re-sharing the c and d drive. I have also compared the property settings between the c and d drives that i can't access with the e and v drives that are accessible. Those setting are the same. Please advise any thoughts on what can be done to render my c and d drives accessible on my network xp pcs.

Installer Put Boot Data On Wrong Drive

My computer has a new sata (c:) drive and an older ide (d:) drive that i use for infrequently used items. When i installed windows 7, even though i chose the sata drive to; 1)create the new partition, 2) format the partition and 3) install win 7. The install was successful and i was able to use the os. However, i couldn't restart without inserting the install disk. After some investigation, i discovered that the windows 7 installer had put the boot information on the ide drive.

Now i can set the bios to use the ide drive as the primary boot device, and everything works ok (windows runs from c: ok), but i wanted to remove the ide drive from the computer, since i no longer need it. So!  Is there any way to transfer the boot information either from the ide (d:) drive from or the install disk, to the sata (c:) drive, so that i can boot from the same disk from which windows actually runs?  I tried booting from the windows 7 install disk, opening a command prompt and executing the "bootsect.exe" file, but that didn't help (even though it indicated successful execution).

Dns Service Is Not Accessible

Im using windows xp professional on my pcs and an adsl internet connection. I planed one of them as server and gain access to internet with another through server in a lan based network. I used adsl ethernet cable to plug into my server, then use another network card to establish lan. Lan network established successfully and i granted full access to server as i decided to, and i share internet through this connection successfully too, even when i ping 4. 2. 2. 4 as main route to internet accessibility, it gets all of packs, which means i have internet access, but i can not visit any website in my internet explorer, means dns service is not shared yet!Server have no problem like that. What should i do now? Am i missing some thing?

D: Is Not Accessible - Access Is Denied

I was trying to setup my d: drive (all my media) with bitlocker. I am on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
Now that it is setup, whenever i unlock my drive, i get the error "access is denied" i went to edit the permissions but the "security tab" is not listed under properties. Also i tried to run the command in cmd with admin rights (to re grant me permissions) but it says error: access denied. Is there anyway to reset the access permissions to default or access the security tab again? I am on an admin account and i've tried in both safe mode and "normal" mode.

Mapped Network Drives Not Accessible To Bde

I have applications that use the borland database engine (bde) usually found in the control panel. Although my network drives (located on the server) are mapped with a login script and accessible in windows explorer, the bde does not see the mapped drives on this windows 7 professional 64-bitsystem. The user is setup as an administrator with full control.

The same user on a windows xp 32-bit professional computer has no problem. If i try to edit a file using wordpad on the mapped drive, i get "access denied" when i try to save the file. But i can delete the file or overwrite it with another file. I need to get the bde to acknowledge the drives. Any suggestions?

Adding Data Hdd

I have just installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on a new hdd - the installation went perfectly. I now want to add another hdd (internal), to use as a data drive. I have been using this drive to store all my data from another installation of windows 7 (32 bit). Whilst i can see all the folders, when i attempt to open some folders (but not all) to access files i receive a message saying i don't have permission. I am the only person using the computer, i.e. I have no additional profiles or anything.

How can i fully access this data drive, with full read/write capability? I will also want to use the same drive when i use it with my windows 7 32 bit installation too. I imagine it is something to do with granting permissions or sharing, but i'm not sure what. Any suggestions?

What Is Data Execution Prevention Program ?

Data execution prevention can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If dep notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you. I have done everything i was told to do to fix this problem and i still keep getting this message. It always says, "internet explorer has stopped working. I don't know what to do.

What is data execution prevention?

Data execution prevention (dep) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Restore Application Data Shortcut

I have to admit i did this one to myself.

On the user profile (c:users
Ame) if you turn off the "hide protected operating system files" setting, it displays a number of "shortcuts". If these have been deleted, are there any way to restore them. It seems they are not really shortcuts but junctions.

What happens if i install a program that is still looking for the %application data% variable, it will create a directory on c:users
Ameapplication data instead of placing it on c:users
Amelocalroaming

Any help will be greatly appreciated to save me from myself.

Data Execution Protection Crashes

I was having a problem with repetitive data execution protection crashes when i accessed certain pages - particularly when trying to read my optimum email with a browser. This occurred with both ie 8 and firefox. The last straw was when i tried to renew my subscription for my trend micro internet security. Their app for renewing a subscription automatically started ie 8, which would then trigger a "internet explorer has stopped working . Checking for a solution" window, followed by a "close program" window, followed by a message that data execution protection had been the cause of the stoppage.

However, ie 8 does not close - it just triggers another succession of "checking for a solution, " "close program, " "dep was the cause" messages until i manage to get ie8 to respond to its own close button (the red x in the urh corner). Based on another posting, i started ie 8 as administrator and turned off the dep function - now when i try to renew my subscription, i get a rapid series of "checking for a solution" and "close program" windows, but no dep message. I finally had to renew my subscription by telephone! What can be done to fix this?

App Data Folder Have 97gb

Why does app data folder have 97gb? My brand new computer (running windows 7 professional) shows that i have used 272gb. My user name accounts for 192 gb. My music takes up 95gb, but i could not figure out what else could be chewing up a lot of space. When i got to the folders within my user name, i see an app data folder that says it has 97gb. Are there really 97gb in there, or is that pretty much a mirror of my music and other files i have?  If not, where are the 95gb that i can't account for?

I have looked at all other folders under my user name, but don't see any others that have even 1 gb in them. I am guessing it must be a duplication of my music somewhere, but i cannot find it. I would really like to free up that disk space.

Win 7 Is Deleting Data Files

I have a program called password administrator (http://www.Digiquirk.com/) that i keep all my passwords in. It uses an encrypted database located in the program filespassword administrator directory. Upon trying to open it this morning i was unable to log into the database. The database name showed as normal at the started of the program. When i canceled the log in dialog and tried to reopen, i was greeted with a create new database dialog. Now i might suspect the program, but this is the second time this has happened and my backups are also deleted from the program filespassword administratorackups directory.

I've been using this program on xp for years and never had an issue. I've tried to recover using previous version, but they don't exist. I've checked windows defender and avira logs, but nothing. I'm trying to run recuva now, but am probably going to have to go back to a backup from last month.

Any help would be appreciated as this will cause me to go back to xp if no resolution is found.

I am running:

Microsoft windows 7 ultimate 32-bit v6. 1. 7600 build 7600
Amd athlon(tm) 64 x2 dual core processor 6000+, 3000 mhz, 2 core(s), 2 logical processor(s)
Installed physical memory (ram)    4. 00 gb

Usb Data Transfer Slow

(win7 pro 64 on amd phenom ii x4, 3. 20 ghz with 4. 0 gb ram)i have tried changing the device settings on both sticks (different manufacturers, both 4gb) to optimize for performance and have rebooted each time. I've tried the transfer from a traditional 7200 rpm drive as well as from a 32gb ssd. Always the same. I have read all the forum post about people who are unhappy with 1. 5 mb/sec transfer rates. At this point, i'd kill for those transfer rates. The files i'm moving are a mix of large and small files and i understand that small files will transfer slower. But surely something is amiss if i can't even surpass 500kb/sec.

Select More Than One Lines Of Data From Different Place Of Page

In windows 7 can we select more than one lines of data which are in different place of the page (not continues lines) through mouse or keyboard and also can we copy all those different lines at a time to paste some other place in a single shot.

- Right now i am unable to select more number of lines which are not in a sequence in a single page to copy those lines of data and paste some where in a single shot.

- Is this concept implemented in the windows 7?

- Is there any provision (method) to select multiple lines which are not continues through keyboard or mouse in windows-7?
