Ie8 Graphics Trails

After installing ie8 on several different pcs, i have notice after the installation, when moving or dragging an object on the desktop, it leaves a trail or solid sillohete of the object.

I didn't think much of it and thought it maybe an issue with the old pcs. But no. I just purchased the latest, brand new, asus eeepc 1002ha, logged straight on to the net and began updating, including ie8, as soon as it restarts the graphics trail begins.

This is really really annoying and i have not found a solution other then uninstalling ie8 all together, which fixes the problem straight away. This is ridiculous. With sp3 and windows 7 now, i thought these type of stupid issues were gone for good.

If anyone has any possible solution please inform me. All drivers and software are upto date. No third party software or non genuine installed. Brand new out of the box straight onto a wifi network and update causes the problem.

Graphics Not Showing In Ie8

I just installed a laptop and a desktop for a client both have windows 7. The desktop has no problems, however the laptop does not show all pictures. I have checked the tools and advanced options and pictures are checked to be shown. For example from yahoo's main page , yahoo sites the text is shown but the none of the icons are shown.

Under the today section the picture is displayed correctly. If i goto advance options and remove the check box to show pictures, the picture is not shown (in other words this works as it is supposed to). Also all the boxes around each section are dark black where on the desktop they are a light grey. Any suggestions?

Ie7 And Ie8 Graphics Do Not Load

On my logon to the internet each day using the msn homepage, the graphics do not load initially until i refresh the page. It does not happen again until i have closed the homepage for a period of time and come back to it later to log on to the net again - as before everything on the homepage loads except the graphics until i refresh the page? I have just downloaded ie8, but the same problem was occurring last week when i had ie7.

I am using windows vista ultimate 2007 sp1 on a dell optiplex 755, intel core 2 duo with 2 gigs ram and 32 bit os - not a major problem, but it is an annoying.

Ati Radeon Hd 3200 Graphics Graphics Problem

I just upgraded windows 7 (twice now) and i'm experiencing graphics problems. It is most prevalent in windows media player and mozilla firefox.

Here's some pictures:

It seems like the colors just drop off. And i know that windows media player does not look like that! The only internet browser that isn't affected by this is chrome. I've experienced another slew of graphics problems including a really bright wallpaper, but that inexplicably went away. I'm pretty sure i've updated my graphics card drivers. I've tried to load games, and they work with no problems; the problem only exists in these programs (as far as i know).

Computer specs:
Hp artist edition (this may contribute to the problem?) Laptop, pavilion dv6
Amd turion x2 ultra duel-core processor
Acpi 64 bit system
Ati radeon hd 3200 graphics card
4 gigs o' ram
Any additional specs needed? Just ask.

Win 7 64-bit Doesn't Distinguish Between Ie8 64-bit And Ie8 32-bit

Windows 7 64bit doesn't distinguish between ie8 64 bit and ie8 32 bit when attempting to set a default browser using the control panel default programs 'associate' utility. My new windows 7 64 bit pc (luv that i7 920 intel cpu) came installed with both ie8-64 bit and ie8-32 bit (nothing more need be said regarding the absurdity of having to deal with this in the first place - i should have gone with the imac).

Anyway, ie64 bit lacks the flash player cuz adobe hasn't released a 64 bit version yet, per their website. So i can't use ie64 with xm online music stream (et al). Ie32, on the other hand, supports flash player, but won't successfully link to various embedded hypertext links, such as those embedded in an email. My initial solution was to use firefox, which served me well until an application from a local vendor will only work with internet explorer. Sigh.

I've used windows since version 2 back in the 1980s, have become stoic, and can emotionally cope with having to use 3 browsers to get the job done.

However, just for fun, my current burning question is, with two different versions of ie8 (64 bit and 32 bit) installed into windows 7, why doesn't the control panel default applications utility seem to aware of the fact that there are indeed two different versions installed? It lists firefox and internet explorer, but does not differentiate between the two flavors of ie. My goal was to set ie8 64 bit as the default browser temporarily to accommodate the vendor's application.

Fyi, by setting the default, i refer to: control panel | default programs | associate a file type or protocol with a program. Then scroll down to 'http' and click on the change program button. So in my case, firefox and only one instance of internet explorer, with no bit distinction, display as selection options.

Blurry Graphics

I bought a laptop last month with vista already installed, got the free upgrade to windows 7 and installed it. Now i seem to have a graphics problem. After being on the computer for a while, some of the words and numbers are going blurry, they have lines going through them, making it impossible to read them. This is happening in my spider solitaire game that came with windows, and also my games from bigfish, and spintop. I have downloaded all the updates for drivers etc, and tried lots of the ideas posted online, but not being a techy am not sure what to try next. Any help would be appreciated.

Graphics Shuffled Around

I have a most annoying bug in the rc release if windows 7. Sometimes, parts of a window, the graphics are shuffled around on pixel level. It looks loke blur, with the same average colors, so i think it is the same pixel as it should be, but shuffled around. If could overwritten, but a big part of the window is visible, but the bug is so detailed so you cannot read or see exactly how it should look.

It is on window-level. When you move a window, the bug moves until you refresh the window. Alt-tab twice is not helping, and neither does mouse over. One window could have the problem, and not another. I got he impression that it has to do with either excessive use of memory or using of .net runtime. I both have the problem on a laptop and a vmware machine.

Cant Install New Graphics Driver

I recently upgraded an older computer [dell dimension 4550] to windows 7 and found i needed a graphics card that supports directx 10. After i installed it & turned the computer on, a standard vga graphics adapter was automatically added with no option to cancel. The instructions for new driver requires the removal of old driver before proceeding.

I went to device manager and uninstalled the standard vga driver but of course, to complete the uninstall, i must reboot my computer. This automatically reinstalls the standard vga again . Please help me out of this endless loop. There must be some simple way to stop this madness!

Powerpoint - Loss Of Graphics

Working on a network version of xp, i have experienced a loss of some graphics within the presentation after compressing pictures to reduce file size. Usually this can be rectified by undoing the action. In this instance the undo has not worked. The graphics (pictures)are identified in the multi slide view and in the slide show view but not in the active or the print view. In addition attempts to rebuild the presentation on a fresh document shows that there is an error with powerpoint in general, inserted pictures only appear with approximately a 5% margin on the left hand side. Any other person on the network can access the file and it works with no error?

My problem is that aoe 2 wont work. I bought the collectors edition from eb for $10, installed all the ones on the disc (aoe (1), aoe (1) expansion and aoe 2 aok and aoe 2 aoc expansion) and the install worked everything was good until i tried playing the game it said exactly this: could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with directdraw. Now im pretty sure they are compatible, as i am running vista (so it should be compatible? Right?).

Dell 700m Graphics Support

I think i all ready know the answer to this question, however maybe someone here may know of a work around. I created a separate partition and installed win 7 on it. It works great. The minus is it only allows the generic pnp graphics monitor to be used. Sine this is thew case to me it is like trying to read someone through wax paper. In win xp i have use a res of 1280 x 800 for long time and get razor sharp results. The highest i can go in win 7 is 1024 x 768.

There is not a graphics driver for my hardware available from intel or dell. There probably will never be either since there would be a small market for it. If this is the case i am going back to xp for now. This is the only con for me on win 7. Is there a way to get higher res with the current hardware and software in the laptop? Below are the specs when running win xp. I have also looked at the bios to see if there was am option to change graphic settings and nothing was available.

Dell 700m
Intel extreme graphics 2 for mobile
Driver version 6. 14. 10. 4396
Winn xp sp3
Directx ver 9. 0
Physical mem 1262
Min grapics mem 16m
Max graphics mem 64m
Accelerator in use intel 828852/828855
Video bios 3104

Power Saver / Graphics Bug

My asus computer has this power4gear battery performance tracker/ruinmylife software. I should mention that i always keep my laptop plugged in for the duration of my session, then unplug it after shutting down. When i turn on my computer, everything is fine. But when i start to do anything, anything, an extremely intrusive and dictatorial performance pop up invades my computer screen, telling me that it is switching power plans (nothing changes during this 'switch'), and will not go away or minimize for at least two minutes.

If i try to do anything while it is on the screen, the screen immediately goes black and stays that way until the pop up decides to call it quits. I know it has something to do with nvidia graphics, but if i click on the tray icon nothing happens. Occasionally, after childishly trying to click the pop up away roughly 50 times it starts to fade white, behaving like a non-responsive program (which it obviously is). Every so often the pop up appears multiple times in one session, even if i'm doing one thing for the duration of my time on the computer.

If i'm gaming, i am hard-pressed to minimize the program if the occasion calls for it because bringing it back up each time dims the screen more and more. Is there anything i can do or press to make this pop up go away? It's just really, really annoying!

Geforce Gt 240 Graphics Card Help

I recently had to build a new system with some components from my old dell which had a bad mother board. When i transfered the remaining components to the new motherboard/case, i was unable to boot my vista. I finally broke down and bought windows 7. It loaded fine and now the system seems to be running fine with one exception. When i load the drivers for my pny geforce gt 240 graphics card, i lose video when windows starts. As soon as the green scrolling bar disappears is when this happens.

I hear the windows sound so i know windows is loading properly, but no video! I ensure the onboard graphics card is disabled on the mother board. I have tried several installations of nvidia drivers but to no avail. This error occurs everytime i load the nvidia drivers. I roll them back in safe mode after the video doesn't work each time. I keep checking to make sure the onboard video remains disabled. Any suggestions?

My system:

Amd athlon 64 x2 3800+ cpu
Biostar ta 790 gxb a2+ mother board
4gb ram
Pny geforce gt 240 graphics card
750 watt power supply
Windows 7 64 bit

Unable To Install A Second Graphics Card

I decided to treat myself and give my computer an upgrade to 3d-readiness which in my mind also meant increasing my number of screens to 3 as well. I already had 2 screens, a 24" hp and a 19" lg, running off an nvidia gtx 295 and i was hoping to simply add a second independent card to run my new 3d monitor (alienware optx aw2310). This is where i've hit problems though, my second card is a nvidia gtx 480 however when i try to boot my pc with both cards it either gets stuck on the windows logo or moves onto a black screen with a move able cursor and then stays on that. I'm currently running windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

I've tried both cards separately and they both work, it's simply when both are connected that it refuses to boot up. My motherboard is the asus rampage ii extreme so has 3 dvi-e slots and the layout i'm trying to use is: gtx 480 -> gtx 295 -> sound card. I'm not trying to use the cards in sli however i'm not sure if the motherboard has a switch that needs to be turned on for more than 1 card regardless of if it's in sli or not.

I'm not sure if there's something that needs to be done with the bios settings either?

Winfast Px6600 Graphics Card

I recently installed a legal version of windows 7 pro on my desktop. It is almost impossible to do anything with out the driver (which is win 7 certified) to function. The screen will black out, come back on, black out, come back on, etc until it finally brings me back to my desktop with a warning message in the bottom right hand corner telling me that the "driver quit responding and has successfully recovered. "

I have installed and removed numerous versions of nvidia drivers and winfast nvidia. By the way, the card is nvidia based. Basically no matter which driver version i install, it continues to give me the same errors. And, when i would remove a driver, i did it through the device manager.

My desktop:
Intel pentium d at 2. 80 ghz
2gb's of ram
Winfast px6600 gt tdh pci express graphics card

Graphics, Video, And Aero Problems

Ever since i upgraded to windows 7 from vista i've been having a lot of graphical problems, most of which were never an issue before installation.

One issue has been with aero. Moving windows about looks really choppy and slow. I was using aero with windows vista so i don't see why there would suddenly be a problem? I've also lost all ability to play videos from any media player in fullscreen. The videos lag so much that it's pretty much unbearable to watch.

I haven't tried much in terms of gaming, but i'm pretty sure running a game at this point would be enough to make my computer explode. Even simple games like solitaire don't run smoothly.

One thing i've noticed is that if i lower my computer's resolution i can watch videos again, but i've never had to do this before, what gives?

I've tried a tons of suggestions from around the internet and nothing works. All of my drivers have been updated, and i've even done a clean install of windows 7, which i think actually made the problems worse (i wasn't have video problems until i re-installed)

Some computer specs: i'm using a new hp pavilion (p6130y) (purchased in august) with 8gb ram, nvidia geforce 9100 graphics card, amd phenom x49750 processor, and a 24 inch monitor if that means anything. This computer is practically new and ran so amazingly before i upgraded. Any help would be sooo greatly appreciated.

Cannot Get Nvidia Graphics Card Working

I have a gateway pc, model e-4610d sb. I upgraded to w7 32 bit from w vista 32 bit. Everything was running beautifully before i upgraded (so why did i upgrade?. Christmas present. ). Anyway, i have lost my nvidia card and my ability to run aero. My wei has dropped nearly two whole points because i can only get my onboard graphics chip to work. I have tried every driver known on nvidia and gateway forums/websites. I have now clean installed w7, back to w vista, then back to w7.

I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers and the card itself. It is a nvidia geforce 7600 gs. I cannot find the manufacturer of the card because gateway will not support me any longer (they sold the division handling my computer configuration to mpc who went bankrupt). Everything else is working very well. Much better than vista, in fact. Except this.

Is there anyone on here who can help? Please ask if i have performed a task before telling me to do so. Most likely i have already tried it and i can just tell you what the results were. I am really looking for someone who has specific knowledge of this exact issue and how to get the card to show up in the device manager.

Bsod When Running Heavy Graphics Applications

Whenever i am running an application that is heavy on graphics (like a video game) i will occasionally get a random bsod. The frequency that this happens is increased if i have more than 1 instance of the application open at once. This has been going on for about a year now. I have run microsoft's ram checking tool to see if the memory was at fault, but it did not report any errors.
This is on a dell xps420 with q6600 cpu and 4gb of pc2-6400 ram.

I have had 2 different operating systems on this pc. First was vista home premium 32bit, the second was 7 ultimate 64bit. I have had 2 different main drives, first a 500gb hdd, then switched out to an 80gb ssd. And two different graphics cards, a 512mb ati radeon 4870, then a 1gb ati radeon 5870. This problem was occurring throughout all of those changes/replacements.

Here are links to the error report, dump file, dxdiag, etc.
