Laptop Does Not Connect To Printer Connected To Wireless Router

Windows 7 wireless laptop does not connect to printer connected to netgear wireless router the printer must be restarted every time i want to print from the wireless windows 7 laptop (through the use of the printer on/off switch. ) The hp 2820 mfp printer has a network card and is connected to the netgear dgn2000 router. I have used the built-in troubleshooting devices from the windows control panel but the problem continues. (Note the laptop was upgraded from vista and the printer worked ok. Also the router was upgraded from an old 2-wire router that died. So, unfortunately i have two variables).

Home Network Problem - Xp Laptop Wont Connect To Win7 Desktop

1) myformer xp (desktop) to xp (netbook) home network worked perfectly! I could print from either computer to a shared printer, i could use the dvd and cd driveslocated on my desktop with my netbook, etc.

2) i just upgraded my desktop to win7, and while i love win7, the home network is gone. I can "see" my netbook on my desktop network, but can't access it. I can't even "see" my desktop (nor printer, etc) from my netbook.

3) i can get on the internet with my netbook through a wired or wireless router connected to my desktop. And, yes, i've tried all the wizards for home network setups, to no avail. Any ideas out there?

Cannot Get Second Computer Connected To Home Network

I installed windows 7 upgrades to two of my desk computers at home -computer a and computer b. In computer a the home group network to share pics, music etc is automatically set up and i took the password and went to computer b in my network, computer b shows that there is a homegroup established in computer a, and i tried to connect computer b to a using the password i got from computer a after setting advanced settings including streaming multimedia, allowing access to everyone in homegroup etc.

But the error message says "a homegroup cannot be set up in this computer (b)" and so i cannot connect b to a. Both computers are connected through a wireless modem by ethernet cable. In computer a i can see computer b in the network.computer a has symantec anti virus and computer b has microsoft security software. I disabled symantec in a and tried too. But still the same problem.

Cannot Connect To Home Network

I was on the internet on my pc earlier today and as i was typing in a url into the browser, all of a sudden, my internet connection was lost. When i tried to reconnect, it said "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. " I didn't change any settings and i've been using the internet with my home network for at least 4 months now with no prior problems. (We bought a new router and wireless adapter, both of which are trendnet and have never given us any problems before).

I tried uninstalling my wireless internet usb adapter and then installing it again and it still won't work. I've tried manually connecting to the network as well, but that won't work either. When i tried connecting to the network, it was also telling me that the password was incorrect, but when i checked on all the other computers/laptops in the house that are connected, they all had the same password entered and are all getting the internet. I really am stumped as to why the connection suddenly stopped working and why i can't get it to work again even after all i've tried.

Win 7 Home Upgrade On Mac

I went through the procedure to partition my hard drive for bootcamp, then inadvertently loaded the windows 7 upgrade disc instead of first installingmy full version of xp. I try to close out of it, but all it does is restart to the install disc each time. I get prompted for drivers that i don't have (though if i did, it will allow me to upload them from a thumb drive. ). Does anyone know 1) how i can eject the windows 7 disc so i can first install xp or 2) where i can download the correct drivers so i can complete the install.

Network Printer Cannot Connect

Its for my homegroup network with both computers running windows 7 (pc is on 64bit and laptop is on 32bot). I can print from the pc where the printer (epson) is connected via usb but i can't print from my laptop through the network. The homegroup works fine enough, i can access files through it. I thought originally it was pharos that was upsetting the computer (installed very very poorly and finally days later managed to get every sign of it off the laptop) - but now i get the printer being found but it won't connect!

I've been though a couple of other threads but none of it seems to work. The file and printer sharing has always been connected (as my brother from his xp computer can print to my printer) and the firewall lets it through. Is there any other way? The permissions are set to print for everyone so its not that either. Does anyone know how i can get my laptop access to print?

Printer Does Not Work In One Of Laptops Using Home Network

I recently installed windows 7 on my three computers: a pc and two laptops. I use a hp psc 410 all-in-one-printer connected to the pc. However, it does not work in one of the laptops using a home network. The first laptop connects well with the printer through the network.

The second laptop does not as it keeps on asking to install a driver to connect to the printer. I clean-installed windows 7 on all three computers, so they should all behave the same. Any ideas or recommendations anyone?

Cannot Connect To Network Folder Or Printer After Update

Suddenly after february update i cannot access the network folders, our network printers with my windows 7 machine and the logon script is not running because its on a shared folder. After a late night trying different solutions i did a system restore to a date before the update and it work directly after reboot.

Some time later the updates is reinstalled and the problems is back. When i try to connect to a computer or server in the network by typing computernameor ipadress in file explorer i get the error0x0004005 and alsoall my networkprinters are offline.

Internet access and all other access is possible, i can connect to other computers with remote desktop and from them connect to shared folders on my local win 7 pc. What the heck has happened? I also tested all the network trouble shooting guides but they find nothing.

Unable To Connect To Print From Network Printer

After upgrading to windows 7, unable to connect to homegroup & not able to print from network printer. Windows 7 upgrade from vista loses network connectivity to windows xp, and mac osx computers and can't connect wireless network printer. Hi, i have recently upgraded my laptop from windows vista to windows 7. While working in vista i had access via a network named mshome to our other windows xp laptops and 2 macs running osx as well as our network laser printer (lexmark c530dn).

Now my laptop can't see the other laptops or macs but can still print to our network printer, and obviously access the internet. I'm guessing that i'm going to have to setup a new network in order to see our other machines. In addition, i have recently purchased a wireless multifunction inkjet printer (lexmark s400 series). The xp laptops and osx machines can print etc. While my windows 7 laptop won't.

The software is installed, latest drivers downloaded, and the printer status is ready but it won't even print a test page. If anyone could give me some advice about the best way to set up a new workgroup (or reconnect to our old one) and get my new printer working i would be really grateful. As you can imagine, i'm now more than a little frustrated with it.

Cannot Connect Vista Network Printer On Win 7

I have a vista home premium network (32 bit) with 3 laptops and a desktop that has a canon mp520 printer attached to it. This is a networked printer and works fine with all networked pcs.
I recently upgraded one of the laptops to windows 7 (32) bit and could no longer print from this laptop. When i try to addthe canon mp520 network printeri can see it in the select printer dialogue, however when i select it i receive an error "operation failed with error 0x00000002

The other pcs still work fine when printing to the network printer.

I also tested the printer locally on the windows 7 laptop and it works fine as a local printer.
The computer name where the printer is attached locally is called 'family-pc" and the printer name is "canon7".

I tried to define the network printer on the laptop as a local printer by defining a new local port for it and entering the printer network address, "family-pccanon7" however i receive an "access is denied" error.

I have disabled the public, domain and private firewalls on teh windows 7 laptop as well and this has not allowed me to attach a network printer either. I have also created a new user on the laptop with the same results.

Wireless Connected To A Domain For Multiple Users On The Same Laptop

I am in a hospital setting. We have several wireless laptops where users will need to connect to the wireless network and be able to login to active directory. I have found a way to do this for a single user on the laptop but these laptops are used by multiple users. Windows 7 will use one users domain credentials to connect to the wireless network and also login to the domain, but it will not do this for any other users that use the laptop. It appears that it will only remember one users credentials. I assume this is by design but i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do this for multiple users on the same laptop. I know i could create a single service account to accomplish this but we prefer not to do this for security reasons.

Any other suggestions?

Add Local Win 7 Printer To Mac

Before i upgraded to windows 7 i was able to go to the mac system preferences / print and fax and go to the add printer dialog and select the windows tab. Under that tab in the three pane window it would show workgroup/home-pc/printer where home-pc is my machine and printer was the name i chose for the canon mp780 that i shared via windows 7.

Once i upgraded to windows 7. I tried doing the same thing and nothing shows up on the windows tab in add printer dialog. I now have no idea how to add a local printer on my windows 7 box that i am sharing!?

Network Computers Not Connected

I have a desk top pc with windows 7 and a laptop with vista. I am unable to get the two connected on the home network. I have a router. The laptop is set up wireless. Neither computer shows the other on the network. Only in the security system (trendmicro) does the laptop show up as being on the network. The laptop shows a second computer with a mac address but it indicates "offline" so i can't determine the ip. The network map on each computer shows this computer - network - internet. Both computers are named the same as is the network. Is this an os compatibility problem?

Mapping Network Drives On A Home Network Issue

I have two pc on my home network, one is a desktop running window 2000, attached to this is an external hard drive. The second is a laptop running windows 7. Before i upgraded to windows 7 i was running window vista on the laptop. When i had window vista on my laptop i was able to map a network drive to both the desktop's hard-drive and also to the external hard drive attached to the desktop.

After upgrading to windows 7 when i try to access the desktop or map the external hard drive i'm asked for a domain password. When i enter the user id and password of the desktop i keep getting the request for my domain password. I don't remember setting up a domain password at the time of the windows 7 upgrade.

Connect Laptop To Wifi And Lan Simultaneously

Win 7 laptop connects to either internet via wifi or network drive via lan but not both simultaneously. Trying to map a network drive from a win 7 laptop and browse the internet at the same time but can't. Fter switching from verizon dsl to fios at the office. Can no longer access the network drive through my ethernet lan while using the internet. I can do either one or the other but not both at the same time. If i toggle between the ipv4 or ipv6 settings on the pci controller for the lan, i can map the network drive and then lose the connection to the internet.

Here's what i mean: properties of the pci-e fast etnernet ctrlripv4=enabled + ipv6=disbaled = mapped network drive - internet connection ipv6=enabled + ipv4=disabled = internet connection - mapped network drive. Any ideas on how i can have both a mapped network drive and access to internet would be appreciated.
