Media Player 12 Dropping Files

Just in the last couple of days i've noticed that albums i know should be in the wmp 12 list are missing. They are still available in my music, but the player no longer posts them when it lists the albums available. For example-a downloaded album from amazon that i purchased about 10 days ago was fine until yesterday, when it disappeared. If i try opening it from the my music file, it plays just fine, but the album still won't list in wmp.

I even tried burning the album to cd, and then ripping it back to wmp- which worked fine until i closed and re-opened wmp-and then no album. Very frustrating. I'm tempted to use the "restore media files" button in tools, but i'm afraid i'll end up with a mess. Anyone know what the problem is? I forgot to mention that i'm running windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

Media Player Do Not Stream Mp3 Files To Lg Bd390 Player

Windows media player streams video, pictures to lg bd390 player, but not mp3 files. How can i get to work? I am successfully using wmp12 as upnp server over wireless network to stream video and pictures to lg bd390 blu ray player. However, while the bd390 shows audio file, on selection, it times out suggesting "network congestion issues". Is there a fix to this problem. By the way, nero homemedia 4 essential, which comes with player, does play all media types, but seems to be messing up my network in other ways. I would prefer to get wmp12 to work. I think nero product uses wmp12.

Windows Media Player Cannot Burn The Files

Windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary verify the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the last device driver.

If you guys tell me check and make sure the cd burner is connected;been there done that.
If you guy tell me to uninstall the device and reinstall;been there done that
If you guys tell me to try brand new disks;been there done that as well.
I have lowered the burn speed ect.

I have done everything possible. I can burn a disk one time or a few then next disk i get that error. I have yet to burn the system restore disk and i am afraid to for fear of getting that error. I am thinking of getting external burner since no one things its a good idea test things out before putting them out.

Media Player 12 Music Files Disappearing

For valentines day hubby built me a new computer and put windows 7 on it, which i am highly starting to regret. Anyhow i put my music i had backed up on my back up drive and it works fine, no problems. Then yesterday i ripped 2 c. D's on to it. I thought everything was fine shut down the computer. Then last night i went to play them and neither of them would show up on my media player, but both were in my music folder.

I deleted them and ripped them again and they showed up on the media player but the second i exit out of the media and go back to it they are gone, vanished, poof. I have tried restore media library and restarted computer come back they load on to the media player i exit out of the player and go back and once again gone. I have tried everything i can think of and still nothing is working and i am getting highly frustrated.

Error - Windows Media Player Cannot Burn The Files

Windows media player-error: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. When trying to burn a cd wmp goes through the motions but only burns a some of the music and not others then ejects the cd with the message above. Some songs on the burn list have audio codec info some do not. I believe this makes a difference but am not sure.

Windows Media Player 12 Problem With Mp3 Files

Will there be an update for windows media player 12 in windows home premium? Its doesn't play mp3 files well. Skipping in last 20-30 seconds of song no matter what driver i use. Programs having problems with: windows media player 12 on windows 7.

Recent changes you made to your computer: installed windows 7 home premium upgrade: clean install
What you have already tried to fix the problem: reinstalled the sound card driver. Upgraded to a creative sound blaster x fi sb0790 pci sound card and the mp3's still skip 30 seconds before the end of the song. This sound card was on the compatible hardware list so. That tells me there is a problem with windows media player. Not the sound card driver.

Avchd .mts Files Playing Problem With Media Player 12

I am new to this forum, would greatly appreciate anyone's advice or expertise. Windows media player12 is no longer playing *. Mts files on my computer. My operating system is windows 7 which came installed with wmp 12, purchased 3 months ago. I have not had any problems with this until recently -i have many *. Mts video files saved on my computer (transferred directly from my avchd canon hf10 camcorder to the desktop). They have always played in wmp 12 without a hitch until now (they would load up instantly when i double-clicked on them).

The appearance of the thumbnails for each file have been unaffected in windows explorer, but when i double-click on them (wmp 12 is my default player) all that happens is that wmp 12 loads up but does not initiate playing of the file. It becomes perpetually stuck in the "opening media" message and a psychedelic series of never-ending circles is seen in the lower left corner. Occasionally i will get the "server execution failed" message as well to mix things up. Wmp 12 is playing other files normally on my computer, including . M4v and . Avi files. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing wmp 12 through the windows 7 control panel, but this did not fix the problem.

I tried deactivating the "network sharing" for wmp 12, but this did not change anything. Interestingly, when i query the technical details of my wmp 12 copy(from the help menu), it lists several video codecs but none are listed as supporting *. Mts files (though none seem to list *. Avi support either, and *. Avi files have been playing fine). The mts files do open up in windows live movie maker, though occasionally they are choppy or only half the screen is presented. I have not done anything obviously damaging to my computer recently. I installed an epson scanner yesterday, not sure if this would affect anything but i un-installed all of its components/associated programs and this did not seem to help anything.

I tried installing the k-lite codec pack today but this did not fix anything, so i uninstalled that as well. Help i am not sure if i am just missing a codec for these files? My understanding was that windows 7 comes with all the codecs/files preloaded in order to play avchd movie files such as *. Mts, would these have been re-installed when i did the re-install of wmp 12? Could a file be corrupted somewhere in the registry that is interfering with this normal function? If so, how could i repair this? Could the k-lite codec pack have damaged anything in my registry or pre-installed codecs? I am not sure if that is what has happened since the problem with mts playback preceded installing this codec pack.

Error When Trying To Burn Cd - Windows Media Player Cannot Burn Files

Windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I just burned a cd with absolutely no problems at all. Using the same type of cd, brand new, i attempted to burn another cd and got this error message: windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish.

If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I've shut down all programs running, restarted my computer, changed the burn speed under the devices tab, everything i knew to do and all the things i've read through these forums, no such luck, still getting the exact same message. Any clue why my cd burner has decided to just stop working for me?

Automatic Media Information In Media Player Stops

I'm running wmp12 on win7. I placed a bunch of mp3s in "my music" folder, then went into windows media player and in options for "automatic media information updates for files" i checked all the boxes (with the sub-selection of "only add missing information"). So as i anticipated, wmp started to organize all my music into nice little folders (like itunes). But then after getting about half way through, it has just stopped. So half my music is organized and half is not. Does anyone have any idea why it stopped and how i can get it to finnish the job?

Network Connection Dropping Frequently

Just upgraded to windows 7 64bit professional edition. It appears that when i first turn on my pc and start using my network connection. Within the first 15 minutes my network connection will drop and i have to disable/enable the device to get working again.

After that, my network connection will stay stable for a good 2-3 hours. And then drop again. After the second drop, it will continue to drop every 30-45 minutes untill i completely reboot the os.

To be honest. I can't confirm if this was an issue before when using windows xp (as i used a wireless adapter then, and i am now using an ethernet adapter [onboard]) and i am unable to see if the same happens with my wireless adapter as it isnt compatible with windows 7.

Has anyone had this before and have a solution? Or is it simply a case of waiting for an update to windows 7 and/or network adapter to hopefully resolve it?

Media Player Gone

Yesterday i began having problems with media player 11. I tried to get help from microsoft and hp with no luck. I tried to uninstall it thinking i could reinstall it and solve the problem. I couldn't find an uninstaller anywhere, yes i tried the control panel. So i tried to delete the whole file thinking i could just download and install another. I couldn't delete it until i changed the permissions and restarted the computer.

Now my media player is gone and none of the downloads i'm getting are working. All i'm finding are for vista or xp and an update for 7n etc. Does anyone know where i can find windows media player that will install on windows 7? I have other media players that work, but i'm more familiar with the windows one.

Media Player 11 Or 12

My wife hates. Hates the new media player that's on her windows 7 os. I know you can disable it. My question is if i disable the player for her will i be able to install media player 9 on her system? As a side note, i followed instructions from a helpful person on this forum to stop my media player 11 from adding all my sound bytes from a recording program i have on my windows xp. It worked for a day but now the media player is at it again, it constantly adds gigs of sound bytes to the media player library.

I just reverted back to media player 9 and i'm waiting to see if it happens on that version. I like the media player but if it continues to add those files to the library i'll have to drop windows media player. If anyone has done a search on problems people are having with windows media players on the net. It's literally millions of people that hate these players lol. Ok maybe it's not so funny.

Print Server Issues - Randomly Dropping Network Connection

Win 7 pro machines seems to be randomly dropping the connected network printers. Everything looks fine at first when you go into the printer devices. Built in trouble shooter doesn't find anything and eventually i got it to say it felt the print spooler on the server was down. I checked and it was up, restarted the spooler on one server, even rebooted another, no change. This is pretty random and after numerous reboots of win 7 pro will reconnect to the file/print server properly. The printers always show mapped on the client machine, restarting local print spooler doesn't help. This is for all 3 network printer servers, i have printers from all 3 mapped and get same issue on all printers, not just one specific printer or server.

Network print servers: win server 2003 sp2
Printers: hp 4240, hp 4250, hp4300, hp4005, hp2320

This is happening to all printers across 3 print servers. Again everything looks fine but when you look at the individual properties it shows unavailable for things like manufacturer, model number, description. Xp & citrix (win 2003) users have no problems. Maybe it is having issues pulling it from ad? Anyone have any ideas?

Media Player 12 In-compatible

I recently installed windows 7 onto my laptop, upgrading from windows vista. I had windows media player 11 on vista and i understand windows media player 12 comes with windows 7. However, the first time i tried playing some music, windows media player 12 was just a desktop shortcut. The program had deleted itself some how. This would not be a problem if i could download another copy. But the two windows media packs for kn and n windows both say they are incompatible with my computer. Can anyone help? Or must i abandon my music listen on my computer?

Skins For Media Player 12

I asked about this a couple of weeks ago, and received an answer. Unfortunately, i've been away from the forums for awhile and am sorry i didn't respond then. Anyway, i downloaded a skin for media player 12 and now none of the skins work. Well, all i get is a white box in the shape of the skin and if i hover the mouse over the correct places i can use the controls. If i click on skin chooser the player stops working altogether. A window appears saying that windows will stop the program and search for a solution.

Someone told me in this forum to uninstall media player from control panel under turn windows features on or off but it didn't work. Evidently this doesn't actually uninstall media player, it just deactivates it. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I promise i will keep in touch. I would like to thank whomever helped the last time, i shouldn't have left you hanging. By the way, i am running windows 7 64 bit home premium.

Media Player 12 Issues

I've recently purchased a laptop with windows 7 home premium. I'm a fan of music and as such i have a wma lossless catalog consisting of over 1000 cds. I'm also a fan of album art over pretty lighting effects. I've scanned each cd's cover art to show 960 x 960 jpeg clarity. So far windows 7 works well except for windows media player. I don't want to have to re-rip my entire collection to another format (just reverting back to wmp 11 would be acceptable).

Library not loading correctly, if song title doesn't match online content completely then music goes to "unknown" folder. Am unable to view my own album art (960 x 960) versus online album art (sub 300x300). No advanced tag editor? If these issues cannot be resolved, how do i install wmp 11 on a windows 7 machine? Very disappointed so far.

Media Player Is Corrupted

I purchased a new hard drive from a local computer store. They removed my vista system and put windows 7 ultimate on as operating system. They slaved my old drive as a e: local but had reformatted it. I have had no problems with downloading media but some of my files show the media corrupted message when i try to use them. Is there a easy fix for this problem or if i purchase a ultimate upgrade disk would that repair the damage? I have tried to use the fix it micros, and windows updates but the problem is still there.

Media Player 12 Library Help

I am not able to delete any of the sample music that came pre installed on windows 7. I deleted the files from the my music folder/my videos but i cant delete them from windows media player 12 or windows media center. I would like to know how to do this. When i hit delete on them nothing happens same thing if i drag them to the trash. That's not close to the big problem though. I am not able to add any music to the library without it all getting deleted once i close wmp 12. How can i get around this?

It is a brand new computer i just bought it. It came installed with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It has no virus or anything like that wrong with it.microsoft sure did mess up with wmp 12, wmp 11 was great but they font have it for windows 7 that im aware of. I also tried to re-download wmp 12 but i couldn't find the link to download it. They kept trying to make me download a plug in for it instead of the player itself. Since there's such little problems with this operating system like this im already regretting not going with a mac.

Media Player 12 And Powerdvd 8

I recently upgraded my laptop from xp to windows 7 ultimate. Now i can't seem to play dvds. Not sure if i have one problem or several. I have tried using the included windows media player 12, and i get video with no sound. I used cyberlink's powerdvd 8 with xp, and tried re-installing that but it no longer works either. It starts the video feed, with no sound, then crashes and says "this copy protected disc can not be played when the tv out function is enabled"

Thinking i might have a display setting issue in windows i looked under hardware->devices-> and under display. I see the same thing in both "generic pnp monitor" "with standard vga adapter". That's it.
I've already updated all drivers.

Media Player Help And Support

My windows media player doesn't allow me to make a playlist. When i rip a cd, make my changes i then drag it into the playlist and nothing happens. I just doesn't move as a single file or a batch when all is selected. I did everything i could think of then went to help and got the following message: "you're not connected to online help, which shows you our latest content. Check your internet connection, and then try to connect to online help again. If you still see this message, the online help may be temporarily unavailable. "

My connection is very good and a friend checked and online help is available. I did restart computer and also my modem as a "what the heck" effort and all is the same.

So really there are 2 problems.

1) media player, new with this computer which i bought about 1 month ago
2) online help and support which i can't reach through the media player or the start button-both routes give same message.

My internet hookup is working well. Got any ideas?
