Sound Not Working With Asus A8r-mvp Motherboard

I just upgraded from xp to win7 64bit. Running off an asus a8r-mvp motherboard. The installation disc that came with the board will not run. Assume it is incompatible with win7? Drivers read as up to date, with a microsoft "high definition audio device" listed as my only sound device and shows as up to date and working properly. Have tried all built in troubleshooting and still no sound. Speakers are hooked up and working, so it seems like a driver error.

Asus P5vd2-mx Motherboard Audio Device Driver

Audio device driver required - windows 7 64-bit - asus p5vd2-mx motherboard - cpu: socket 775 - audio device "unknown". Ok, as the title says, i need the correct windows 7 64-bit driver (fyi. Asus do not have any win7 drivers for my board except for bios flashers)

Previous: new computer (to me its new, it was my brothers) worked fine for him but came with all drivers pre-installed (he also used win7 64-bit)

I formatted the drive and re-installed win7 64-bit. It showed the device as working including in the device manager, however, no matter what i did i got no sound. I tried to find drivers online and found one saying it was the win7 64-bit driver, it installed fine but had to reboot to finish the install, o nreboot it gave an error as i logged back in (cant remember what it was now) and now there is no device showing up at all anywhere not even in device manager and not even showing "unknown device"

I have been to asus website and tried the win vista 64-bit audio driver for my motherboard and it says it is not compatible.

Note: i have been through the entire faq on the asus website and they have no useful information what so ever, as with the forums.

Note: have also checked in playback devices panel and shown disabled hardware. Still nothing
I have tried using sis software "sandra-lite" and it cannot detect any audio devices

If this is a bios version problem and i have to flash it, please let me know and if possible provide a link to the correct flasher. Ive not flashed a bios since 1998.

Update Audio Driver For Asus Motherboard P5ld2-fm

My computer has an asus motherboard (p5ld2-fm) with an onboard audio chip (from realtec). After installing windows 7, i have no more audio: on my screen right under i see a speaker with a red cross. By hovering over this symbol, it says "no audio output device is installed". I suppose that asus has no suitable driver for my motherboard. Not a big problem as it is my spare computer, but my question is: as soon as the right drivers are available, will they com automatically with the updates from windows 7, or must i look on a regular base on the asus website for those drivers?

Asus P7p55-m Sound Problem

Brand new system, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, can't get my 5. 1 system to work properly. No sound for windows or any application but i do have sound for games. Updated drivers but to no avail. Web applications don't have sound either. When testing the speakers through control panel the test comes out fine for all but the two front speakers. The motherboard is an asus p7p55-m with an on board sound card, via vt1708s 8-channel high definition audio codec.

Any ideas?

Asus G51v Driver Problems

I have an asus g51v (purchased at best buy, which originally came with vista, but i upgraded to win 7), none of it's drivers install. The usb drives, ethernet, wireless, and audio don't work at all. I have no solution so far. It appears to be a problem w/ the registry, i think somebody messed with that.

What i have tried:
-System restore (doesn't fix)
-Uninstalling, then re-installing via device manager
-Windows repair (doesn't work since there isn't internet)

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

External Monitor On Asus Eee Pc 1005ha-m

I just bought an asus eee pc. It has windows 7, intel atom n270; 2gb ram and intel 945 express family graphic card. I plugged my external monitor (packard bell 190 w ab) in it through vga port. It works fine, but the screen resolution is not optimal! The best resolution would be 1336 x 768 60hz; which is the maximum. But windows only gives the option to choose between 800 x 600 and 1024 x 600 !?

I tried updating the driver for the graphic card, since the intel website learns me that there is a newer version of the driver. (Driver now installed is: 8. 15. 10. 1867) but this didn't really work. I tried updating the driver, selected the folder where i downloaded the file from the intel website and windows says that there is no better or newer driver available. Then i searched for a packard bell driver, but didn't find one on their website. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

Asus En 9800 Gtx Graphics Card Trouble

I performed a clean install of windows 7 on my pc and now i have some major graphic performance issues. At first sight the graphics seem ok, but they are very very slow. Resizing windows, scrolling on webpages, or starting up a game all looks like i have a 1mb vga card. Even a 2d game runs on less than 1 fps. I have tried various drivers for my graphics card, even physically swapped it for an old 6800gt (same thing, but then again also the same drivers).

There is no abnormal cpu or memory usage and other than the graphics the system runs fine. The very same system worked perfect on xp and vista.system details:windows 7 pro 64 bit, directx 11. When ever i go into anything that allows me to use a webcam in chat, or to take pictures, it is always upside down. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks

Asus Usb-n13 Network Adapter Problem

I'm running windows 7 32bit with a msi ms-7698 motherboard. I'm trying to install the drivers for an asus usb-n13 network adapter. I have no cd drive so i've downloaded the drivers from the asus site. When i run the setup file for the driver it says it can only be ran on windows 7 (which is what i'm using). I've also tried using device manager to manually select the driver and install but that doesn't work either. I've also installed the "asus wlan control center" thinking there would be an option to install drivers through that. But when i try to run it it says that it will run once the network adapter is plugged in, which it is. Under "devices and printers" it shows my adapter as "unspecified" so my pc is recognizing that it is plugged in.

Asus P5ad2-e Audio Device Driver Not Properly Installed

I did a clean install of windows 7 on 2 identical computers with the asus p5ad2-e motherboard. Both have the same problem: a message "no audio output device is installed". Letting windows try to solve the problem then results in an attempt to reinstall the device driver, which fails with the message "high definition audio device has a driver problem". Nothing i tried so far (uninstalling the driver, manually installing a realtek driver for windows 7) has worked.

Asus G73 Drive Does Not Recognize Blu Ray Disc

Recently got a new laptop - asus g73 with blu ray/windows 7 64 bit pro/comes with powerdvd 9
When i put a dvd in the drive, everything works fine.

When i put a blu ray disc in the drive - windows does not recognize that there is a disc in the drive (i.e. No auto-play, no disc recognized in windows explorer). Also, the powerdvd9 software also does not recognize there is a disc inserted. When i first opened the powerdvd program, it asked me to setup the correct region codes, and i've also setup the correct country in windows. The model of my blu ray drive is "matshita bd-cmb uj141as".

Asus Drw 22b2s Cd/dvd Drive Driver Error

When installing windows 7, i have finally managed to get past the installation screen without it blue screening (that, however, is a whole different story) and now it stops before the installation begins, complaining that the cd driver can not be found. It then proceeds to look for the driver (on the cd drive, no less, proving to me that it must be working decently enough) and finds nothing. Browsing for more folders reveals nothing.

System info: i'm installing the 32-bit version from from a dvd onto an old machine with an 80gb hard drive and sufficient ram. The only dvd drive is an asus drw 22b2s cd/dvd drive, for which there are no drivers available online, nor did it need any to run on windows 2000 which was the previous os on the machine (however i've wiped the hard drive for the installation). The copy of windows 7 is a legit version, but still won't install. I've been browsing through other topics here and on different sites and none of their solutions work. Is there a way to get around this - or better yet, a solution?

Creative Sb0490 Usb Sound Blaster External Sound Card

My external sound blaster card sb0490 works on my xp machine. When connected to my windows 7 machine almost everything except creative mediasource player gives the error message "the audio device supported by this application is not detected". The mediasouce player works ok.

The driver is usb_w7drv_lb_1_01_0099. The usb bus controller is "usb composite device" using driver file usbccgp.sys version 6. 1. 7600. 16385 (win7_rtm. 090713-1255). An update search confirms this driver software is up to date. The windows 7 compatibility center reports "information coming soon" for this hardware. Has anybody a solution?

New Motherboard

I just installed a new motherboard in to my pc and now windows crashes when it tries to start up. I understand that windows has difficulty with recognizing new motherboards when the drivers for an old one are still installed. Problem is, when i try to run windows recovery from either the hard drive it tells me 'windows failed to start' and that a recent hardware change may be the problem. Ok. So i tried to boot from my windows 7 cd to run a recovery off of that but it still gives me the same error 'windows failed to start'

I'm a bit baffled as to how i get past this point. I have all my important files backed up on another hard drive so i would just re-install windows if i could but i can't even get to a menu to give me the option of wiping my hard drive. One of my buddies suggested just going out and buying a new, blank hard drive and installing windows on that but i would rather not. Any suggestions?

New motherboard is asus m4a785-m
Running windows 7 64bit (non oem)

Motherboard Dead

My windows 7 64 bit system failed to boot with a motherboard failure. It is an abit board and they are no longer in business.

The boot drive is in fine shape the boot sequence fortunately did not get to the operating system bootstrap. But of course the installed system is expecting an abit board.

How do i recover with a new motherboard.

1. Do i attempt to do a repair from the windows 7 dvd
2. Or do i attempt to do a reinstall from windows 7 dvd.

Of course i cannot run easy-transfer as the original system is no longer available. My main issue (but not the only one) is to recover live mail as is with all its emails and contacts in place.

What i am really asking i think is, will a repair be able to deal with the differences between the new hardware a p45 chipset, while the system, drivers etc. , Is expecting a p965 chipset or will it just collapse in a mess. Or is there some way of pointing easytransfer to a drive other than the current boot drive.

Motherboard Failure

My motherboard has failed catastrophically and must be replaced. I cannot obtain the same board again so have ordered one which is compatible with my ram, cpu, hard drive and other peripherals which are all believed to be ok.

My os is retail (not oem) windows 7 home premium upgrade 64 bit (previously had vista home premium retail). Assuming all the hardware behaves properly, how will win 7 on the existing hard drive respond to the new hardware? Will i have to re-activate windows and will it guide me through that?

Motherboard Replacement

I need to replace my motherboard/processor/memory soon and was wondering if i am going to have to do a complete reinstall of windows 7 or can i just do a "repair" after replacing the hardware? I have searched everywhere i can think of on the web and can't ge a definitive answer. Currently i have a dell pentium d running windows 7 with 4g memory but since eventually the pentium d will be obsolete (eventually? Like last year!) I want to upgrade to a phenomii or i7 processor. I remember trying to do this with windows 98 and xp (and it was a major pain for both) so i wanted to know what i would be in for with windows 7.

Reinstalled Motherboard

I had to replace my motherboard earlier this week. Now i receive a microsoft message asking me to activate my windows 7. When i do, it says it is not a valid windows 7 product. Now i can see in the lower right corner a message: "windows 7, build 7600, this copy of windows 7 iis not genuine. "It is a genuine copy which i purchased. Obviously it thinks that i am on a new computer with the new motherboard and ram which was installed by the dell technician. Dell is saying i may have to reinstall windows 7, which is not what i want to do if i do not have to.

Replacing Motherboard With Same Model

Replacing motherboard with same model but standard intel bios, not emachines/intel bios. Will my windows 7 still activate? I have found a replacement motherboard for my emachine computer running windows 7 home premium 64-bit upgrade. The motherboard is the same as the one i have now, but will have a strictly intel bios i believe and not the emachines/intel bios with windows vista home premium 32-bit activation built in. Will i be able to upgrade to this board and still use and/or install my windows 7 upgrade?

Activation Problems With A New Motherboard

Ideas: i actually have a 2 part question. Ok, in the last month i have purchased 4 copies of windows 7. 2 regular home, and 2 ultimate. Yesterday i uninstalled the mobo because i wanted to move everything into a different case. Now i am new at this and i didn't realized that the gateway mobo is a bxt board, and would not fit in the atx case i bought. So i reinstalled everything back to the old gateway computer. Today i ordered a new mobo to fit into the new atx case.

My first question: i wanted to know if i'll have activation problems because windows will see this as a new computer? Trying to get tech support on this site i tried to find my product key and saw that i wasn't activated yet -again- i remember activating it, and well i am also know that i should not have any activation problems. Now i keep getting the error message windows is registered on too many computers. Which it can not be!

My second question is, why can i not activate on this computer? Why did it even "inactivate" itself in the first place? Will i run into the same problems on monday or tuesday when i install everything from the old case into the new case with the new motherboard? Does that make sense? Upgrading shouldn't be such a pain the butt.
