Error Writing Files To Cd, Cd Was Already Finalized

I want to copy a data file to a new cd-rw. I put the cd in the machine and it asked what format i wanted. I chose 'like a flash drive' for adding and deleting files later. After about 10 minutes the cd was ready. When i tried to copy my file, it said i couldn't because the cd was already finalized.
What went wrong? Can i salvage my disc or does it have to be binned? How do i get my file onto a cd?

Error - 1310 Writing To File When Trying To Update

Error, "error 1310. Error writing to file: c:config. Msi1658852. Rbf" when trying to update adobe and gets the error for other programs as well. Original title: config. Msi1d4a8da4. Rbf: what is is, why do i apparently no longer have it, and how can i go about installing updates to many, many different programs without it?

Ok, so i've only just recently started getting this problem, but i don't know what to do. I will use the example of an adobe reader update. This is what the update error message said: "error 1310. Error writing to the file: c:config. Msi1d4a8da4. Rbf. Verify you have access to the directory. "If this is actually a thing, i basically should have access to the directory, as i am on an admin profile.

Error - The Files Are Either Corrupted Or Nonexistent

Error: "the files are either corrupted or nonexistent" when tried to decrypt the drive using bitlocker on windows 7. Bitlocker encryption interupted. So after installing windows 7 ultimate, i tried encrypting my external hard drive with bitlocker. Unfortunately, i started it without adjusting my laptops power saving guidelines, and my laptop went into hibernate mode after 30 minutes.

Now, i have already tried unlocking it by normal means, but when i enter my password it says that the files are either corrupted or nonexistent, and when i tried doing the forgot password, the only other option i could find, and entered the id that bitlocker gave me, it said that it was not a valid id. Seeing as how i copied and pasted the id to a word document, and copied and pasted that into the text line, i am now out of ideas on how to get my hard drive to unlock.

I had just bought it less than 6 months ago, a 1tb†western digital my book, so would really like to not have to buy another new one. I tried doing the windows desktop help search but it only told me to do what i already did, and after doing multiple google searches†i did†a forum search here and saw that there were no posts about this problem.

Error Codes & Corrupt Files

I am having problems with installing updates and software onto my laptop: -

Windows update, i get error code 80200053, microsoft security essentials updates, i get†error code 0x80240022 (this is a new install but haven't been able to run as unable to update with any definitions) windows live messenger and mail installation, i get error code hr:0x8007000d

I restored my laptop to factory default but the problem hasn't been fixed. I am still having the same problems but also, i am unable to download programs like java or avg (before i tried mse), i get messages either relating to corrupt files or unknown publishers/certificates. I have been having these problems for over a week now, in fact both my laptop and my partners desktop are having the same problems.

Having spent hours searching these forums, i found another user who appears to be having the same problems as me and followed the solution provided i.e. Disk cleanup; sfc.exe and then checkdisk but the problems haven't been resolved. The log file from the sfc.exe suggested that some corrupted files couldn't be repaired and i have looked at the results but to be honest i haven't got a clue what to do about this. The checkdisk result came back clean though.

We have managed to obtain a copy of†avg from a cd and run a full scan on both the laptop and desktop and no virus' were detected. The only items listed were tracking cookies which have been deleted or repaired and 2 items on my laptop advising broken digital certificates.

Can you please help me with this, i don't know what else to do to fix this problem?

System Error Memory Dump Files

Upgraded from xp to win7 using custom advanced option. Install went ok. I have an 80gb hd w/2gb ram. The hd is about 1/2 free space. After opening a windows session for several hours, system error memory dump files occupy more than 35gb hd space creating the low disc space warning. In order to correct the problem i must restart using the chkdsk/f utility. When chkdsk/f is run step 4 of 5 takes a long time apparently repairing errors. When the reboot is complete the free space is again available.

File Error Copying Vob Files To Drive

I have been trying to copy a few . Vob files from a non-copyrighted dvd to my hard drive and keep running in to the same problem. After the transfer is complete, it looks like the full file is there but†it shows that the clip length is only :13 seconds†rather than the 35mins of the original file. Sure enough when i try to watch it, the clip appears corrupted, jumping around before ultimately freezing. Is this an error in the transfer, of the original dvd or something in 7 i just don't know about. Install Error 2329 And Saving Downloaded Files

Increasingly i have noticed repeated errors concerning file access on windows 7. While uninstalling a program, i will get the 2329 error halfway through, and also errors while trying to save downloaded files (i assume something to do with 0 length files), messages informing me that the file cannot be saved.

I believe that these two errors are connected, and are caused by the slow response of the os and anti-virus software, keeping handles to files open longer than is required, leading to these errors.

†Any thoughts?

Error - Not Enough Free Space To Store Temporary Installation Files

Not enough free space error when i have 190 gig free on drive c? When upgrading from vista hp 64 bit to win 7 hp 64 bit, following the "checking compatibility" function of the upgrade process i get the following error message:

There is not enough free space to store temporary windows installation files. Try using disk cleanup, uninstall old programs, or move files to an external location such as a cd, dvd, or external hard drive.

I have done that, moved all pics, music, uninstalled itunes and done everything the program recommended. My c drive is 286 gig and it has 190 gig of free space. Clearly, there is plenty of room. So what's up with this error message?

Files Send To Dvd-rw Drive On Network Results In Deleted Files

"send to dvd-rw drive" when the source files are on a network drive results in deleted files! Windows 7 rc 7100. Have a mapped drive to another computer. I opened the folder, right clicked on a group of .doc files. I choose "send to dvd-rw drive". Responded to the prompt of "use like usb drive" or use in a cd/dvd player by choosing the 2nd choice. Then was faced with a prompt that filename.doc is no longer in this location cancel/retry/skip. All the files were gone! Not in recycle bin of either computer.

Programs Files Vs Program Files (x86)

What is the difference between the "program files" folder & the "program files (x86)" folder, in c drive? Various programs seem split almost equally between the 2, after i upgraded from vista to 7, except that internet explorer is in both, meaning that when i "open with" for a text file i get ie listed twice. Can i move everything to one or other of these & delete the other one? Is one for 64-bit and one for 32-bit programs or something like that?

A2c Files Downloaded As Zip Files

If you go to alice.org†and try to download one of their image files, ie8 changes the extension from a2c to zip making the file unusable unless the user manually changes the file extension.

http://alice.org/index.php?Page=gallery/amusement park/index

In our school network users are not allowed to change the file extension so that does not work. I found that the user when downloading has to change the file type to all files and change the file extension then. This is a bother to have to remember. When i tried with a different browser (chrome) the a2c file was recognized correctly. The computers in my school are laptops running windows xp. At home my desktop runs windows 7 and the problem is there as well. There was no problem with ie7.

Docx Files Downloading As Zip Files

I am having an issue with docx files turning into zip files when i try and download them in ie8. I have done alot of research on this problem and have looked into the 2 main solutions to this problem: 1) set security settings to "open file based on file content, not file extension" to disable† 2) check the mime type table on the web server and make sure the office 2007 extensions are added.

The first step i tried and the file was still trying to open as a zip file. The second one i was only able to ask the vendor because the web server does not belong to me, but the vendor said they were able to get the same exact docx file to download as a docx file and everyone on their end was able to. I am able to save the zip file and rename the file extension to docx and open it, but sadly this will not be an acceptable answer.

I've tried adding registry settings to allow it to open with docx files as well with no success.
I am curious if anyone has any other suggestions for me?

Error When Trying To Burn Cd - Windows Media Player Cannot Burn Files

Windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I just burned a cd with absolutely no problems at all. Using the same type of cd, brand new, i attempted to burn another cd and got this error message:†windows media player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish.

If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. I've shut down all programs running, restarted my computer, changed the burn speed under the devices tab, everything i knew to do and all the things i've read through these forums, no such luck, still getting the exact same message. Any clue why my cd burner has decided to just stop working for me?

Install 32-bit Apps To Program-files Rather Than Program Files (x86)

On 64-bit win7, is it wrong to install 32-bit apps to (drive letter):program files rather than program files (x86)? If wrong should installer prevent this? If installer allows it, what app behavior is appropriate?

Background: winzip 14. 0 (a win7 compatible 32-bit app) won't run if installed to c:program files. If installed to any other alternate path or folder name it runs ok. By convention starting with vista, c:program files (x86) is for 32 bit apps and c:program files for 64-bit apps. But installers allow overriding the install path and folder name. e.g, maybe i want 32 bit apps in c:program files and 64 bit apps in c:program files (x64).

If c:program files is a restricted location for 32 bit apps, should not the installer and/or os enforce this, rather than allow installation then break the app? What is the correct practice for both users installing apps and developers porting apps to win7?

Custom Install - Program-files And Program Files X86

Custom install from windows vista hp 32 bit to windows 7 hp 64 bit leave 2 program files - "program files" and "program files (x86). Mostly same files in either folder. If x86 is needed, i don't mind but why duplicate entries with items like windows mail. I tried to to delete program files x86 without any success, and i would like to delete system-32 files in the windows folder plus any other 32 bit related items, if possible.

I do not want a system with duplicate and redundant files. Because two items that i downloaded and installed appear in both program files, i'm suspending any further actions on the installation until i'm fortunate enough to receive some help and/or advice from this forum.
