Visual Studio 2005 Program On 64-bit

Ms office suite 2007 professional plus, major programs seems to have installed w/o problems except visual studio 2005 and outlook connector also. Anyone have problems with win 7 pro 64 bits and ms office suite 2007? I still have vista and wonder if this is going to work on it? Will i need to go to the pain process of creating partition and reinstall vista 32 bits?

Visual Studio 2005 Pro Compatibility With Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Can i use visual studio 2005 pro on windows 7 pro 64 bit? I use visual studio 2005 pro on xp pro 32 bit. Can i use it on windows 7 pro 64 bit?I have looked on the vs site and could not find a definitive answer to using this version on my new os. I know, they're putting visual studio 2010 et al. I do not have the kind of cash they're trying to get from me. T least, if i can use it, i can do some self made/self-used projects. I will download the free development systems. But, they run out after 60-90 days. I still need to get ms office standard 2007/10.

Outlook.exe Problem With Visual Studio 2008

Ever since i got windows 7 i have been looking for a way to stop outlook 2003 from interfering with the rest of my work. When i boot up, outlook is started as a process by sync center so that it can synchronize my mobile device. Until now, the only problem that this had caused was the fact that
This allowed outlook to keep giving me reminder dialogs. That was annoying, but at least i was able to close them when they popped up. But over the past couple days i started spending some more time using visual studio 2008 again, and it has said not responding in the title bar 2 or 3 times already. I decided to look at the details this time, and here is what they said:

The only part of this that even gave me any idea as to where to start for solving the problem was the fact that the "waiting on application name" value was "outlook.exe", which was open only as a process as i mentioned earlier. I am not sure how this (assuming it is) is related to the problem, so i was hoping someone could help me. The only guess i can come up with (although i don't know how to test or fix it if it is correct) is that outlook.exe was trying to send a reminder dialog while something else was happening. I am using windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. Hopefully someone can help
Me fix this.

No Sound Dell Studio 1557 64-bit

No sounds on windows 7. I have a dell studio 1557 (64-bit) with windows 7 installed when i bought it last november. I used it without any problems until about february, when suddenly sound started not to work at all. Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem but running even a simple program (such as sound recorder or playing a wmv file using windows player) wouldn't work. I tried system restore as a last resort and it fixed the problem. For a while. It reappeared again after some time, and i fixed it again that way, and again and again. So i am wondering if this has any easy fix, and whether any programs might have compatibility issues and cause this?

Cannot Uninstall Sql Server 2005 Backward

And this is causing programs to get error code -2147023782, "a dynamic link library (dll) initialization routine failed"i had two entries in programs and features for sql server 2005 backward compatibility. I could uninstall the newer one, but the older one - 8. 05. 1054 10/25/2009 will not uninstall - it says you can only uninstall programs that are installed. So this appears broken. I suspect there's some files left around that are causing the dll error, but don't know what they are in order to delete them and reinstall the 2005 backward compatibility option

Download Programs To Default Folder "program Files" 32-bit Or 64-bit

I have been confused if programs automatically download to the optimum "program files" for 32-bit or 64-bit or do i have to select which if the two program files i want it in? It seems everything has been going into the x86 file. I don't want to just move them all over to the 64-bit file if they really belong in the x86 file, but i am sure my new photoshop programs belong in the program files file yet they seen to have downloaded into the program files (x86) instead. Also, how am i to know which programs are better suited for either folder?

Update: i tried copying the photoshop file and moving it to the 64-bit folder but it won't let me do so, saying a file is in use somewhere. I do not have any files from this open; i even restarted the computer to completely close anything that might be open and i get the same message. Is this maybe because it does not belong in the program files folder for 64-bit programs? Any other hints on how i can move this program, along with adobe premiere elements (for making videos) that gives me the same message? I have been told these programs would work better running as 64-bit programs so that is why i want to move them.

Install 32-bit Apps To Program-files Rather Than Program Files (x86)

On 64-bit win7, is it wrong to install 32-bit apps to (drive letter):program files rather than program files (x86)? If wrong should installer prevent this? If installer allows it, what app behavior is appropriate?

Background: winzip 14. 0 (a win7 compatible 32-bit app) won't run if installed to c:program files. If installed to any other alternate path or folder name it runs ok. By convention starting with vista, c:program files (x86) is for 32 bit apps and c:program files for 64-bit apps. But installers allow overriding the install path and folder name. e.g, maybe i want 32 bit apps in c:program files and 64 bit apps in c:program files (x64).

If c:program files is a restricted location for 32 bit apps, should not the installer and/or os enforce this, rather than allow installation then break the app? What is the correct practice for both users installing apps and developers porting apps to win7?

Cannot Open 64-bit Adobe Program

I bought a new dell xps 8100 64 bit machine. Then i installed my adobe cs4 and lightroom 2. Neither one will open. I am getting run around from dell and adobe techs. Both says its the others problem. Both want me to spent an additional 200 dollars, for software help, after spending 1000 on computer and 1400 for adobe products. I have used both on my old win xp system with no problems ever.

Now buy this great new high tech computer, 64 bit, and now can not use either program. Has anyone else experience a problem with this issue? If so, have you resolved it? Please help if you can. I have already spent over 5 hours on telephone between the two companies since i received my new computer 3 days ago.

After An Accidental Shutdown The 32-bit Program Flickers

Dreamweaver 8 worked fine for the first few days on my windows 7 computer. Oddly the companion program, fireworks, is just fine. I accidentally hit the power strip and turned the computer off. Since then it it won't open. When i try to open it, it flickers on, then disappears. Same thing happens when i try to get the 8. 02 patch from macromedia.

Yes, it's an older version, but i am reluctant to buy cs4 since it's not quite compatible and they're coming out with cs5 sometime this year. Does the flickering signal something worse with my computer? Any way to get this 32-bit program running again?

Program I Need To Run Windows Will Not Work On 64-bit

I installed windows 7 pro 64 bit on mac with fusion. Turns out the one program i need to run windows will not work on 64 bit, or so they say. I uninstalled and re-installed the 32 bit version. Now i am being warned i only have a few days left to use the program without a new key code. Is there any way around this problem. I am not using the 64 it program, and do not want to pay for another key to run the 32 bit program. The program i need to run with windows is some little known billing program called therapist pro. I have talked to them and they will not take any responsibility for helping me with getting their program to run correctly.

Program Files In Home Premium 64-bit Edition

In my recently purchased dell studio 1550 laptop "windows 7 home premium 64-bit edition" is preinstalled by dell. It has intel core 2 duo processor t6600 (2. 20 ghz // 800 fsb // 2mb cache).

Now in os (c:) there are two programs folders, first is "program files" & second is "program files (x86)". I made a search in google for this and came to know that "program files" is associated with 64-bit programs & "program files (x86)" is associated with 32-bit programs.

Before purchasing this system i thought that this system will only run only those programs which are 64-bit & also w7 hp compatible. But now my query is that whether i install any w7 hp compatible program (either 32-bit or 64-bit) to my system?

Duplicate Program File Folders On Win 7 Pro 64-bit

I clean installed win7 pro 64 bit os from win7 pro 32 bit on my laptop and duplicate program files folders (with and without x86 designation) have been created. The duplicated files are windows programs, internet explorer, windows defender, windows mail, windows media player, windows nt, windows photo viewer, windows portable devices and windows sidebar. Does this mean that these duplicate windows apps are needed for 32 bit and 64 bit software to be able to work with that type of software respectively? Do i really need a 32 bit and 64 bit versions of internet explorer, windows defender, mail, media player, nt, photo viewer, portable devices and sidebar?

It would have been nicer just to have one set of these windows applications that works with both 32 bit and 64 bit software. These windows applications use a lot of hdd real estate. It would also be good to be able to have the option of uninstalling one of the duplicate sets. Is the ability to do just that available now?

Win 7 64-bit App Installations Always Default To Program Files (x86)

I've just recently installed windows 7 64-bit. When i try installing 64-bit applications such as firefox namoroka or google picasa 64-bit the default is always to install in "program files (x86)". The default should be "program files" for 64-bit apps. Shouldn't windows detect that it's a 64-bit application and default the installation to "program files"?

Visual C++ Runtime Library

I have just upgraded my toshiba satellite l300 laptop from vista to windows 7, everything went fine with the upgrade except for when the computer is starting up. The whole boot process is fine until it comes to go to the sign in screen i get this message:

"Microsoft visual c+ runtime library
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
Please contact the applications support team for more information. "

To overcome the problem and be able to sign in i have to keep hitting the esc key over and over again until the sign in screen does eventually appear. When i sign in everything appears to work ok but i only upgraded the system yesterday and am worried that this will eventually become a bigger problem than it is right now.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

I just recently installed roller coaster tycoon 3 platinum! Edition in my window's vista computer. This game has always worked on my other computers, but right after installation i tried to start the program and this popped up:

Microsoft visual c+ runtime library
Runtime error!

Program: . Filesatarirollercoaster tycoon 3 platinumrct3plus.exe

Abnormal program termination

I looked at a lot of the other solutions for similar issues on these forums but none really seemed to apply. This computer was built for gaming, and plays games such as command and conquer and world of warcraft with no issues. I did, however, try to uninstall the microsoft visual c+, but there were two of them in the computer, and a third one called microsoft visual c+ updates. I uninstalled the two, but left the updates one. I reinstalled the program and restarted my computer. Same issue.

Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

Just recently, when i start my desktop pc, running windows 7, (which i installed three months ago, ) i receive many runtime errors. I also get an error for gadgets (settings.ini is being used. ) The runtime error! Lists the program as program: c:prog. Because the program title gets cut-off, i don't know which program is giving this error!  Some of the programs not running correctly are: adobe ("internal error") ms word, and even windows support seems to run in safe mode.system restore does not complete successfully and gives error code 0x80070005.

I have a killer nic card from bigfoot - installed the most recent version driver. I also installed a new belkin 40+ router. I didn't have a problem sunday or monday but today i do. When the error message comes up upon booting up the pc i get the error message. After that i don't have internet connection unless i unplug the cable to the router and plug it directly into the killer nic card. Anyone have a solution to this problem? What do i need to do to fix it?
