Not Able To Print Directly From Ie7 Or Ie8

Having problems getting computers to print directly from the internet. 4 computers on a network (total of 5 workstations and 1 server). Mix of ie 7 and 8. When trying to print directly from internet in ie. The browser page shows an error and refreshes without printing. When using firefox and trying to print directly from internet, the browser is shut down and has to be restarted. Have tried running with no add-ins. Same problem. Have tried to run "sfc /scannow" no change.

I am starting to think there may be a corrupted system file somewhere. I don't know if it is affecting it or not, but also avg free anti virus is running on these computers. All are running windows xp home with service pack 3. The computers are all relatively new. Approx 6-9 months old. Any answers?

Ie7 And Ie8 Graphics Do Not Load

On my logon to the internet each day using the msn homepage, the graphics do not load initially until i refresh the page. It does not happen again until i have closed the homepage for a period of time and come back to it later to log on to the net again - as before everything on the homepage loads except the graphics until i refresh the page? I have just downloaded ie8, but the same problem was occurring last week when i had ie7.

I am using windows vista ultimate 2007 sp1 on a dell optiplex 755, intel core 2 duo with 2 gigs ram and 32 bit os - not a major problem, but it is an annoying.

Enlarge Picture Will Not Work On Ie7 But Does On Ie8

New computer with windows 7: running ie 8 - cannot download adobe flash player and hyper-links work ok; on ie 7 can use flash-player but then hyper-links don't work. Sites such as ebay - the 'enlarge picture' will not work on ie7 but does on ie8. Seems i can't have flash player and working hyper-links together.

Install Ie8, Ie7, Ie6 Internet Explorer Versions

I have ie8 installed but also need to install ie7 and ie6 (i'm a designer and need to check my sites in previous browser versions). I can't find out how to do so as ie8 seems to be programmed to prevent the installation of previous versions.

Cannot Print From Ie8 (internet Explorer)

Installed windows 7 64 bit thursday. Now cannot print from ie8. Print preview on ie works fine. Other programs even *blush* safari 4 print fine web pages fine. When i try to print from ie, the little printer icon flashes on ie, but the printer icon in status and i never pops up and i never get output. Using 64 bit version of internet explorer as well. Test pages from printer and from control panel all work as expected.

Everything appears to be pointing properly to correct default printer in all programs.

Ie8 Unable To Print Since Update

I haven't used my printer for some time but this last weekend i needed to. Even after careful preparation it failed to print. I know there have been a number of updates from ms but i would not have thought that would be the problem. However that's why i'm here.

I have updated via the hp site all software and drivers for the deskjet printer although it wasn't necessary as i had previously accomplished this. Since i found the problem i have removed microsoft office, 2010, just in case this may have been a problem. I have also removed the hp printer program, twice, and reloaded it.

The printer works fine and the software does even to printing the test page but i am not able to print anything else. I'm stuck. Never experienced anything like this.

I've read a number of possible solutions both at hp and here. Here is my summary:

%Temp% doesn't work because no such file/folder exists. I cannot find the route to the supposed folders also.

Reseting browser to factory defaults as described resulted in no change.

Turned on file sharing with the same result - nothing. Read the documents on vista and windows 7 and came to the conclusion they don't apply. Finally i searched for msia (microsoft software inventory analyzer) and came up empty. I am not running it.

However i am running a perculiar program called data execution prevention which has caused me problems in other areas. Although i do not think this is the problem in this case nevertheless i have identified all of hp software and marked for bypassing dep. Having read some of the solutions and messages what strikes me is the number of ad hoc solutions, as if no one can identify why the problem occurs, especially microsoft.

I need a proper solution. The software is faulty and therefore not doing the job for which it was purchased. The solution may require the removal of the operating system and to rebuild, something i don't want to do if i am going to be in the same stupid position as i am now, but i'm prepared to do it.

Monitor Goes Directly In Sleep Mode On Boot Up

I bought a computer last week online (had it built from a popular site that i've used before). The computer worked fine for a few days. Last night, in the middle of playing a game, it crashed or something. Upon reboot, the monitor went directly into power saving mode. I thought my old monitor was t he problem, so i bought a new monitor. Same thing. When i turn it on, the monitor goes right into sleep mode. Maybe once out of every 20 or 30 reboots it will actually boot up, or i can spam f8 and get it to boot into safe mode.

I read online to turn off all the power-saving options. So i did (and i also installed the new monitor driver from the disc while i was able to do so). Rebooted. Same  problem. Every time i boot up, all i see is a black screen and the monitor goes right into power saving mode, hitting f8 does nothing, no normal boot screens even appear. The boot up "beep" never sounds off, and the fan seems to die down very quickly as well. Whats really confusing is that it worked fine for like 5 days. Then poof there's some kind of conflict.

Maybe the onboard video card is turned on in the bios or something? I don't know cause i cant even get that far. Booting up gets me to a sleeping monitor every time. Anyone got any ideas? These are the exact parts i am working with: amd phenom ii x2 550 dual-core cpu4gb ddr2-800 pc6400ati radeon hd5750 1gb single cardasus m4a785-m amd785g hybrid crossfire chipset power supply 600 watt windows 7 (64 bit)

Problem Adding A Favorite Directly To Target Folder Selected

I just upgraded to ie 8, and i'm experiencing an irritating problem when having to add several websites to the same target sub-folder in my favorites. Maybe i've been spoiled by the convenience of an older version of internet explorer where the "add a favorite" pop-up would automatically be set to the subfolder that i had selected when adding another related website prior to the one at hand. I'm talking about the folder displayed where it says "create in".

That was a great function, because usually if i'm searching some information on a subject i want to add interesting websites one by one to the folder that i've specified for that subject. It's a time saver when the target folder is already set to the one that you've justset it towith your most recent add. Otherwise you have to go through all your folders and subfolders again to find the same target folder every time you want to add another website to that folder.

I know it doesn't matter to those people who just have a few folders. But if you use the internet as your own personal encyclopedia, creating folders and sub-folders for all the information that interests you, it's important to be able to navigate through it easily and save information easily in the right order and place. So my question is if there is any way i can enable that function by changing some settings perhaps? And how can i do that? Now it's just always set to the default folder"favorites".

Printer Problem - Print Job In Print Queue Is Preventing Other Print Jobs

Cannot print from new laptop to shared printer - "a print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing". I recently bought a new laptop and want to print to a printer (hp color laserjet 1600) i have shared over the network from a windows 7 (x64) machine. When i try to print from my laptop it stays in the print queue and i have to run the troubleshooter on the host computer to resolve the issue and allow it to print.

If i run the troubleshooter on the laptop it tells me it could not identify the problem while on the host it tells me "a print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing" and it says it fixed the problem and prints the document but i have to do this every time. I also have this printer added to a laptop and a netbook and they both print the document just fine and have no issues. The laptop i am having the problems is running windows 7 (x64).

Hp Inkjet 2230 Printer - Print Jobs Stuck In Print Queue

Print jobs stuck in the print queue and will not print on windows 7 64-bit driver for hp business inkjet 2230 printer. I have installed the current hp universal printing pcl 5 driver on my windows 7 64-bit os. When i try to print a test page on my hp business inkjet 2230 printer (usb to parallel cable connection) the job hangs in the print queue. I can run the troubleshooter and purge the spooler but then i'm back where i started. The next print command will result in the same error.

This appears to have also been a problem with windows vista (64-bit). Suggestions to remedy the problem are welcomed.

Cannot Upgrade To Ie7

I am trying to upgrade our church's computer to ie7 and have tried just about every idea i've read online. Downloading and installing the ie7 upgrade loses my internet connection. I get the "cannot display page" error. I have tried it with no firewall and with all add-ons disabled. I tried installing xp - sp3 upgrade today and lost connection with ie6. As soon as i uninstall ie 7 and xp - sp3 - everything works again. The connection diagnostic tells me three ports are blocked due to the firewall - but it's disabled. Ive written down everything i can find (ip address, gateway, etc. ) And nothing appears to change after the upgrade - i just can't get back to the internet. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?

Installing Ie7 On D: Drive

I have an eee pc with two ssd drives - its a neat little piece of equipment. Drive c is really small (4gb), and mainly contains windows-xp. The d partition is bigger (12gb). Currently internet explorer 7 resides on the c drive. To conserve space i wish to move (or uninstalled-reinstall) internet explorer to the d drive.

Does anyone have any idea how to do that?

Ie7 Not Receiving Website Content

Running windows xp, using mozilla firefox as main browser and avr virus protection - no problems here at all. I originally installed ie8 but every time i tried to open would get "data execution prevention" message which would shut me down. Eventually set waiver for ie8 but same result.

Eventually removed ie8 and installed ie7. Now program opens but after typing any site address in address bar, tab appears with site name (eg. "Msn"0 but no content on page. On all occasions (whatever site i try to visit) it seems to be trying to contact "127. 0. 0. 1"

Is there a solution or should i simply forget about ie altogether. Problem is that the reason that i am using avr anti virus is that i need ie to install mcafee anti virus.

Ie7 - Cannot Manage Add-ons

I have a problem concerning ie 7 add-ons. I can't open the tab that customize the ie add-ons, neither through ie -> tools, or control panel -> internet options -> programs. I just doesn't open up when i click it (no error message, nothing).

My internet browsing works fine, with all add-ons activated, the problem is just i can't see the tab to see what's installed and change their status. I'm on a win xp sp3, mcafee av since a year ago (previously norton av). I don't know exactly when the problem started, but when i installed ie 7 i remember clearly it was ok. I remember my laptop became infected with a pen-drive virus, which was solved time ago.could that have affected this feature?

Flash Flicker Or Stutter In Ie7 And 8

When i visit a website using ie with any flash content in it the page loads and the flash window displays the image but the image flickers  noticeably as it updates at a rate of about 5 to 6 a second. Even modest minor motion animations on webpages will flicker. I also experience flickering of the flash content while passing the pointer over an ie page with flash content.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash. Same problem uninstalled and then upgraded flash to ver. 10 - still the same problem. This problem was present with flash 9. 2. X. X and remains with a new reinstall/upgrade to ver. 10. 0. 42. 34.

In ie internet options i have done a full restore in advanced settings and reset internet explorer settings – still the same problem.

I previously had ie 7 running and started having this problem after doing some massive upgrades on drivers and software on this system. I was well down this road when i first noticed this problem. A restore was not really an option. After trying to uninstall flash and reinstalling it and doing a repair on ie without any change in the problem i finally upgraded to ie 8. I am still experiencing the same flicker or stutter problem with ie 8. As might be expected any flash content that shows up in the windows live messenger control window also has the same issue.

System:
Winxp pro sp 3. 0 32 bit (current on all critical updates)
Msie 8. 0. 6001. 18702 (latest version)
Window live messenger  2009 (build 14. 0. 8089. 726)
Flash player 10. 0. 42. 34  (latest version - non-beta)
Ati radeon 9200 – running ati catalyst v 1. 2. 2314. 20337 (latest version)

There is a different install of the flash plug-in/player for ie than the one firefox etc use. Both are separately installed while running the respective browsers and they seem to recognize the appropriate install.

When running any of the following browsers i do not have the ie problem.

Firefox 3. 5. 7
Safari 4. 0. 4
Opera 10. 1 (smoothest of all)
Chrome 4. 0. 249. 89 (38071)

When running ie or firefox, etc, i can visit http://www.Adobe.com/software/flash/about/ which does a installed flash status and version detection.

*All* browsers report:
"You have version 10, 0, 42, 34 installed"

Because of the nature of my work using ie is a necessary evil otherwise i would simply go to one of the other browsers which have already demonstrated themselves to be trouble free.

I have spent the last several days searching the web for solutions and have yet to find one that solves the problem. I have the most current video display adapter drivers and have tried different display resolutions and refresh rates without any success. The fact that i don't have any problems in firefox, safari , etc and they all use a common (with the exception of ie which has its own) flash plugin/player leads me to believe that the problem lies with the configuration of ie.

Ie7 Internet Options Will Not Open

I want to upgrade to ie8 but each time it tells me that the install has brought forward an error from ie7. My ie7 will not open internet options, thus i cannot "easily" disable add-ons, etc. I have gone so far as to completely re-installing xp and sp3, re-installed ie7 (or ie8) but continue to have the same problem when i try to open ie7 internet options; the sub-screen temporarily flashes and closes (without any error message).

I have a laptop on the same home lan running vista and ie7 but i don't want to upgrade it to ie8 until my desktop will successfully install it. Most of the on-line fixes keep pointing me to ie8 pages. I could sure use a simple fix that does not entail modifying the registry.

Ie7 Closes When Clicking A List Box

Ie 7 closes when a specific list box on a page is clicked. This does not happen for any other list box and only happens on certain machines. The shop runs xp pro sp2 and uses ie 7 across the board. The same users can log onto a different machine and click the same list box (or any list box for that matter) and the problem does not persist on that machine. Security settings have been set to medium-low on the machines with the issue so this doesn't seem to be the issue. Is there a setting or other ap that could be causing this issue for these three machines?

Ie7 Not Handling Excel Files Properly

With ie7 i am at a website where i can export an excel document. I had 2000 installed and didn't have this problem. I now have office 2007 installed and have an issue where it will give me a prompt stating "the file you are trying to open is in a different format than specified. " If i hit yes it will then give me a user login page as though i am just about to login to the website. However, if i hit no, it will prompt the same message again but with a different file name. If i hit yes to that it works fine.

If i try this through firefox, however, i don't have a problem at all which leads me to believe it's an issue with ie. I tried the registry hack to suppress the error message and when i do it'll simply open up an instance of excel with the user/pass dialog boxes asking me to login.

Strange Sound When Ie7 Loads New Url

There is a strange sound intermittently being broadcast from ie7, it usually occurs when i type a new url into the window, but sometimes the noise occurs when the window is active. I tried a number of antivirus programs and everything is negative. I changed the control panel sound from blank to windows default. The sound still occurs as before, it sounds like a kazoo blast. I have a screen capture with audio, you can here the sound at http://www.Youtube.com/watch?V=jcvyowsqnta

Can you tell me what sound file format internet explorer uses for it's various prompts? (Wav, mp2, wma ) and which default directory path?

Ie7 Refuses To Open - Net Framework Issue

Via email a ms tech support advised me last week to uninstalled all .net framework components using win installer clean-up download which i did. Then download the .net framework packages. None of the downloads will install. Some instructions i've used seem to require ie for downloads but my ie is inoperable right now. Ie will flash for a brief instant then go hidden.

This self-help via ms links odyssey began when i tried to install update .net framework sp1 and .net fw 3. 5 family update v 2. 0-3. 5(kb951847)x86 and it always fails to install. 3 days ago i was told in an email that an xp support professional would contact me w/i 72 hrs. That has not happened. My whole system is a mess. How do i unravel this mess and get back to where i was? Also, system restore will not restore to an earlier date.

Ie7 Blank Pop Ups When Opening A File

I am a tech services employee, and i have a very interesting situation with one of our users here. Originally, the problem was that when the user would go to download a file from an internet site (usually, it was an office document), ie would freeze and crash on him. We decided to upgrade him to version 7 of ie (ie 8 at this time is not approved for installation on our corporate pcs because they are not compatible with some of our web applications).

The installation was successful, and the user is able to download and open the documents from the internet, however, when he does, and extra blank window appears and does not automatically go away. It's more of an inconvenience at this point, but i was wondering if this issue can be fixed?

Ie6 / Ie7 Compatibility Issue With Xml Files

I have a strange issue going on. I have inherited some code from a previous programmer, and he builds an xml file and pushes that to ie for printing. It's been fine in ie6, but now that we're rolling out ie7 to our workstations, it no longer works. It seems to be in an endless loop, and it will display some of the report, then that disappears, and something else will pop up later, and this just goes on until i kill ie via task manager.

The really odd thing is that in testing, if i stick the file on the web server and point ie7 at it, it works properly, but if i double-click the html page or point ie7 to it on the network drive, it locks up. Ny ideas what i'm missing here? The file in question is at http://www.co. Tillamook. Or. Us/gov/ois/testing/genericreceipt.htm
