Agp Nvidia Graphics Card Aero Support

Will an agp based nvidia graphics card support aero in windows 7? Ineveruseda graphics card before, but since il be using windows 7 ultimate from now on, wanted to know whether an graphics card which works with the agp port and run aero in windows 7. It supports vista completely and i hope the same is with windows 7.

Because my system does not have a pci-e based slot i am willing to buy an agp one. I am keeping my fingers crossed whether it will work windows windows 7 or not. Is it compulsory that the graphics card support directx 11? Mine supports only till 10 i guess.

Graphics Adapter Won't Support Aero User Interface

Why does the windows 7 upgrade advisor say my graphics adapter won't support the windows aero user interface even though i run a geforce 8800gt? I have an hpm1070n with an upgraded video card, power supply, and 4g ram. Everything else is original hardware. The upgrade advisor gives me a caution sign (yellow triangle and black exclamation) and says my graphics adapter won't support the aero user interface, but my 8800gt has much better specifications than the aero hardware requirements.

Right now i thought my weak link was my old ddr ram and my 2. 8g p4 processor, why would it say my graphics adapter isn't up to par?  Does it have something to do with the motherboard?  I would like to upgrade to win7 but don't want to spend the money right now if it won't run properly on my current rig.

Your Current Graphics Adapter Won't Support The Windows Aero

Cannot Get Nvidia Graphics Card Working

I have a gateway pc, model e-4610d sb. I upgraded to w7 32 bit from w vista 32 bit. Everything was running beautifully before i upgraded (so why did i upgrade?. Christmas present. ). Anyway, i have lost my nvidia card and my ability to run aero. My wei has dropped nearly two whole points because i can only get my onboard graphics chip to work. I have tried every driver known on nvidia and gateway forums/websites. I have now clean installed w7, back to w vista, then back to w7.

I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers and the card itself. It is a nvidia geforce 7600 gs. I cannot find the manufacturer of the card because gateway will not support me any longer (they sold the division handling my computer configuration to mpc who went bankrupt). Everything else is working very well. Much better than vista, in fact. Except this.

Is there anyone on here who can help? Please ask if i have performed a task before telling me to do so. Most likely i have already tried it and i can just tell you what the results were. I am really looking for someone who has specific knowledge of this exact issue and how to get the card to show up in the device manager.

Nvidia Driver Update For Graphics Card

Today i had something weird happen to my windows 7 pro system. I went and updated my nvidia drivers to the new ones that came out today. I removed the old ones and installed new ones. When i went to restart after the start screen came up i got a message telling me that my windows 7 did not pass the genuine advantage. I had to download an activation fix from microsoft. I didn't have to re-enter my product key. Now this was only an update to my graphics card. What gives?. Why did this happen. Even ms security essentials gave me a warning until i applied the activation update.

Nvidia Geforce Gt 325m Graphics Card Problem

I have the asus-n61jv notebook with nvidia geforce gt 325m grpahics card on windows 7 32 bit. I downloaded the version 197. 16 driver from nvidia. By default my notebook detects the driver as standard vga graphics adapter. The chip type is detected as "intel(r)ironlake mobile graphics chipset". Now when i follow the manual driver installation the message i am receiving is "installing this device is not recommended because windows cannot verify that iy is compatible with your hardware. "

I have ignored the message and the nvidia geforce gt 325m is installed.

But when i go to

Control panel-> display-> change display settings and then click on the advanced settings link a window opened with the title "(default monitor) and properties". There is an adapter tab in there which i assume should list the details of the graphics card.

Here it is showing nothing i.e

Chip type: "unavailable"

Total available graphics memory: "unavailable" etc. One interesting point is even though the driver installation was successful when i shut down the computer and start it again it showed the message that "standard vga graphics adapter" is installed successfully and it replace the nvidia driver.

So i updated the driver files once again and the nvidia came back. On a test basis when i shut down the computer and start it again the "standard vga graphics adapter" took over once again. In device manager i can see two display adapters are listed:

1. Standard vga graphics adapter

2.nvidia geforce gt 325m

As fyi: i ran the wei but it reported an error and couldn't complete it. Any idea why is this happening?

Radeon Hd 4670 Agp Card Problem

I am running a clean install of windows 7 hp64 on a new hard drive on an old motherboard, asus a8v-x with an opteron 180 processor. The card works fine when i boot winxp from the other hard drive.

I have installed the latest ati agp hotfix driver for win 7 64. The device is listed in the device manager under display adapters as "radeon hd 4600 series" but with a yellow caution exclamation mark.

Opening properties, the error message states: "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I have uninstalled, driver cleaned, re-installed, installed previous releases of the ati agp drivers, etc. And nothing seems to get this card running on win 7. Any suggestions would be appreciated, as this is the last piece of hardware i have not been able to coax into life under win 7.

No Aero - Unable To Update Nvidia Display Driver

Windows 7 64 bit will not let me update the driver for my n vidia geoforce 9500 gt display adapter. When i try using windows update it repeatedly informs me an important update is available but when i try to install it i get the error message code 800f020b unknown error encountered. When i try rebooting the system it again fails to install the update despite trying. Using the change driver option in device manager similarly fails even when i point it to the correct driver which includes wdms support.consequently i can't use aero although when i originally installed windows 7 it was working correctly with aero.

Unfortunately i messed up by going to the n vidia site and downloading what claimed to be the latest driver! Please can some kind soul help me gat aero back. At the moment device manager fails to describe any display adapter although previously it was showing an unknown device which was working correctly! Needless to say i do have a display otherwise i couldn't be writing this!

Graphics, Video, And Aero Problems

Ever since i upgraded to windows 7 from vista i've been having a lot of graphical problems, most of which were never an issue before installation.

One issue has been with aero. Moving windows about looks really choppy and slow. I was using aero with windows vista so i don't see why there would suddenly be a problem? I've also lost all ability to play videos from any media player in fullscreen. The videos lag so much that it's pretty much unbearable to watch.

I haven't tried much in terms of gaming, but i'm pretty sure running a game at this point would be enough to make my computer explode. Even simple games like solitaire don't run smoothly.

One thing i've noticed is that if i lower my computer's resolution i can watch videos again, but i've never had to do this before, what gives?

I've tried a tons of suggestions from around the internet and nothing works. All of my drivers have been updated, and i've even done a clean install of windows 7, which i think actually made the problems worse (i wasn't have video problems until i re-installed)

Some computer specs: i'm using a new hp pavilion (p6130y) (purchased in august) with 8gb ram, nvidia geforce 9100 graphics card, amd phenom x49750 processor, and a 24 inch monitor if that means anything. This computer is practically new and ran so amazingly before i upgraded. Any help would be sooo greatly appreciated.

Dell 700m Graphics Support

I think i all ready know the answer to this question, however maybe someone here may know of a work around. I created a separate partition and installed win 7 on it. It works great. The minus is it only allows the generic pnp graphics monitor to be used. Sine this is thew case to me it is like trying to read someone through wax paper. In win xp i have use a res of 1280 x 800 for long time and get razor sharp results. The highest i can go in win 7 is 1024 x 768.

There is not a graphics driver for my hardware available from intel or dell. There probably will never be either since there would be a small market for it. If this is the case i am going back to xp for now. This is the only con for me on win 7. Is there a way to get higher res with the current hardware and software in the laptop? Below are the specs when running win xp. I have also looked at the bios to see if there was am option to change graphic settings and nothing was available.

Dell 700m
Intel extreme graphics 2 for mobile
Driver version 6. 14. 10. 4396
Winn xp sp3
Directx ver 9. 0
Physical mem 1262
Min grapics mem 16m
Max graphics mem 64m
Accelerator in use intel 828852/828855
Video bios 3104

Bfg Gtx 260 Won't Support Aero

My last graphics card didn't support aero, so with my hard earned cash, i went out and bought this card. The technicians i spoke to said it should work just fine. Well, it isn't and while i like how the fan is a lot quieter than my previous card, the whole point of getting it was so i can stare at a pretty, aero-enabled screen. If i wanted to stare at windows 7 starter, i would have just stared at my netbook.

Here are my system specs if it helps.

1000 watt psu
250 & 500 gig hdd
Creative 5. 1 sound card
4 gigs ddr2 ram
2. 66 ghz core 2 duo

Nvidia Gtx 280 Graphics Problem

Running w7 ultimate 32 bit. My graphics card is a nvidia gtx280. Problem- when i run a game or even spider solitaire, the screen gets covered in a pattern and pixelated (at one point it was shutting my screen down to power saver mode). Will use this game as an example - rainbow 6 las vegas - i have downloaded all latest patches and also drivers 196. 21 and beta driver 196. 34. I booted in safe mode and removed driver, then did a clean with driver sweeper and installed new driver as above. All worked well until i turned machine off. On next startup all was the same again so went through the process with beta driver - same result again.

I checked the driver in device manager and what seems to happen is that win 7 uploads its own signed driver everytime as follows

Driver files
C:windowssystem32drivers
Vlddmkm.dll
C:windowssystem32
Vd3dum.dll
C:windowssystem32
Vwgf2um.dll

Version wddmv1. 1
File version 8. 15. 11. 8593
Driver date 14. 05. 2009

Now this is an old driver but keeps reinstalling itself no matter what i do. How do i get 7 to accept the new driver? The funny thing is it affects spider solitaire but not frecell on the freebie windows games - go figure. I am totally at a loss and fed up rebooting my machine with what is obviously a windows problem and no support there now as i'm told to contact my comp manufacturer. Sorry but he is miles away from me since i moved.

Nvidia Graphics Driver Stops Working

My action center is consistently telling me to address a problem with nvidia graphics driver. It has stopped working multiple times. Usually it recovers, but it has occasionally forced a shut down, and once or twice i've gotten a blue screen. I've tried to "address" the problem through the action center, and it always tells me the solution can't be downloaded and i should check to make sure my computer is connected to the internet. It's always connected. I've downloaded other solutions but this one always returns the same problem.

I've got an hp 87340w with a docking station and extra monitor - so it is set up for a dual display when on the docking station. I think the problem most often occurs when resuming from a period of inactivity - so the display turns off to save power. I've also gotten it when switching from laptop to dual display (that is, when i put the laptop back on the docking station). I used to get problems when the video was running, so i always make sure i'm not using video when i switch.

I've reinstalled the graphics driver, and even reinstalled windows. I'm not really sure what to do since i don't even know what the problem is and windows gives me no options after it fails to download the solution.

Problem With Nvidia Graphics Driver - Solution Could Not Be Downloaded

I click on solve pc issues (the flag) and it says address a problem with nvidia graphics driver. I click it and it says "this solution could not be downloaded".

Most likely causes: your computer was unable to download the solution at this time. Check to make sure your computer is connected to the internet, and then try to download the solution again later.

I am connected to the internet, and windows update works, web browsing works etc. Why isn't it downloading the solution?

Video Card (nvidia) Problem

A friend's system runs dual-boot (xp and win7).initially with on-board video chip but this was very slow in graphics, so a video card (nvidia geforce 8000 series) was bought. Under win7 the system hangs after some time (even if not being used), but not under xp. So, back to the shop, replaced the video-card with a geforce gt220. Same problem: system hang after some time, but no problems under xp. We have replaced the driver with newer and older versions, but no difference.

Bsod When Installing Nvidia Card Drivers

Important info:
Graphics card: geforce 7950 gx2
Ram: 2 gigabytes
Hdd: 400 gigabyte sata drive
Processor: amd athlon 64 fx-62 (dual core, 2. 8 ghz)

I have a shuttle pc, and am running the latest bios, not sure the version number, but i just flashed it several days ago when still on xp.

Okay, here goes. I just installed a clean copy of windows 7 x64 pro over windows xp. It was a major pain, i kept getting a blue screen error when setup was 'completing'. It was a stop error for file nvlddmkm.sys, which after some research, i believe it to be a nvidia file. I could not get win7 to install.

Finally, after hours of research, i finally got it to work by deleting the nvlddmkm.sys files during the 'expanding windows files' step. This was done via command prompt (shift f10). I believe i found the steps for this process here.

Continuing, i'm finally booted into windows, and i'm assuming that i am running the basic windows vga drivers. I ran windows update and attempted to install the drivers for my 7950 gx2, reboot, 'windows is starting', bsod. Boot into safe mode, uninstall drivers, install drivers from nvidia, reboot, bsod.

It seems that no matter what set of drivers i install, after i reboot, the computer will say 'starting windows' and then will get the bsod. The code is 116, and the associated file is nvlddmkm.sys.

I know that during the install process that i deleted the nvlddmkm.sys file from two locations. I believe one was in the system32 folder, can't remember the other location. Currently, this file is not located in the drivers folder (c:windowssystem32drivers).

Can you guys please help me in getting my graphics card drivers installed?  No matter what i do, i get a bsod after a reboot and before windows loads. I have tried several versions of the driver but to no avail. I believe i might need to copy the nvlddmkm.sys file to somewhere. I do have a nvlddmkm. Sy_ file that is packaged with all the drivers, but i believe it needs to be expanded?

Aero Stopped Working / Video Card Problem

I have an hp with an intel core2 quad core, 4gb ram, 320 hard drive and a geforce 9800gt video card with 1gb of memory. I upgraded to windows 7 about 8 months ago and ever thing seemed to work well until about a month ago when aero quit working. I have tried everything. I think it is a problem with the nvidia drivers because when the problem started, my computer starting crashing, my screen would turn blue and tell me that there is a problem with my video card drivers. So i when to nvidia and got the new driver for it. It didn't do anything. Then i uninstalled it and installed it again using driver genius pro and nothing happened once again. But then i restored the driver using driver genius and aero started working but only for a few days then it would decide randomly when to work, i would have to restart my computer multiple times to get it to work. I got sick of that and tried re-installing windows 7 from scratch.

I formatted the entire hard drive and now aero it's not working at all no matter how many times i restart my computer. I personally think it's a problem with the nvidia driver, and it sucksnot being able to figure this out . When i run the troubleshoot for the display aero effects i get a message that sais . "The current video card may support aero with a driver that is compliant with the windows display driver model (wddm).contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a wddm-compatible driver. "One user told me that currently the 257 series drivers are not wddm certified. They can cause issues with aero working properly and that i should use the 197 series set. I have no clue what this means or how to get the "197 series set". Once again i got a nvidia geforce 9800gt video card, but i don't think the computer its recognizing it because when i run dxdiag and click on the display tab it does not recognize a video card.

Also, when i go to the nvidia control panel it tells me that i am not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu. My computer is still crashing and a blue screen appears and tell me it's my display drivers and a bunch of other stuff i don't have time to read.

Nvidia 7950 Gt Video Card Drivers Issue

I'm trying to install video card drivers on windows 7. When i first installed windows 7 and installed nvidia drivers everything was working fine for about a week. Now i can not get windows 7 to boot with video drivers installed and display my desktop. As soon as it gets passed the windows 7 boot logo my flat panel says no signal and turns off.

I boot into safe mode and uninstall the nvidia drivers and windows will boot just fine, but i have no video drivers installed. When i go into safe mode with that problem and i have windows troubleshoot it, it says that my video card drivers are up to date, but does not support wddm.

I have tried almost everything i can think of different brands of drivers and i don't know how many different versions but they all end up with the same problem. I'm running the nvidia 7950 gt video card with a asus p5b motherboard with the latest video card drivers on windows 7 operating system.
