Random Bsods With Win 7 Professional 64-bit

I've been recently experiencing random computer lock ups and bsod's after fresh installing windows 7 professional 64-bit system. In addition, i did the fresh install twice, just to see if it was a bad install. I did not have any problems, while running the same setup under windows xp professional.

All my drivers have been updated to the most current one, either from windows update, or directly from the product manufacturer's website.

These are the messages i get in event viewer.

Random Bsods - Event 41, Task 63

I am experiencing intermittent bsod crashes. The crashes do not correspond to high levels of activity, high operating temperatures or any other pattern that i can perceive. If anything, they occur most frequently shortly (seconds) after bootup or while the system is idle. The system is not overclocked. I have the latest bios available from msi and the latest optical drive, ethernet, gpu, and audio drivers.

(A side note on the ethernet driver. The latest version available from realtek's website is 7. 11. 1127. update recommended an update to the driver which i installed on feb. 6. This driver version was 7. 12. 128. 2009. I have experienced bsods with both versions of the driver. Currently i'm running realtek's latest version as i'm unclear how microsoft could have a more up-to-date version than the manufacturer. )

I have already tested the ram using memtest86. I've run in excess of 16 passes without returning any errors. I've also tested the hard drive using the manufacturer's diagnostic utility and chkdsk /r /f. Hard drive checks out fine. I've stress tested the system using prime95 and seti@home and the system has not shown any tendency to crash during stress testing. I've also run system file checker. It does not return any errors.

I've posted the minidump files here:

I've posted the event logs here:

The critical events (which i assume are the bsod events) all run along these lines:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Roll Back 64-bit To 32-bit Or Upgrade To Professional

Roll back of 64 bit to 32 bit or better solution such as upgrade to professional? Recently i purchased an hp g72 260us which has one of the new i3-core processors, 4 gb ram, etc. After over 6-7 hours or trouble shooting, over 17 uninstall/re-install of software under different configurations i believe i have discovered the problem to be an update that occurred to my windows 7 operating system from 32 bit to 64 bit. While i have tried to roll back the updates, it has been to no avail so i am looking for a way to resolve either multiple software issues that are rendering my broadcasting, production, and internet usage impossible.

If i upgrade to professional, will it resolve my issues with my sprint novatel ovation u720 usb modem. Which by the way since the update, drivers will not load allowing the computer/os to recognize the device at all. Or is there a way to roll back to the 32 bit version without limitations to the performance. I am not gaming which is what i understand the major value/benefit of the 64 bit upgrade. Or suggestion to resolving these conflicts and others such as with adobe audition and other similar programs.

Random Freezes With Win 7 64-bit

I use to run vista home premium x86 on a acer computer. This summer i downloaded windows 7 rc x86. A month ago i bought all new parts and since i could use 64-bit system now i installed a 64-bit windows 7. Then did the problem start. Every new and then the computer freezes, some days over 30 times. I thought it was hardware problem and tried a lot of hardware finders and nothing helped. I also installed windows 7 rc my mothers laptop (the same version i use to have that work fine) that used to run on vista home basic. But her computer didn't freeze it just got a black screen now and then.

The i started to suspect that it was because it was a beta version so when windows 7 were released i bought two of them a 32-bit and a 64-bit. But the problem didn't go away. It's still there and it's kind of frustrating and even more now when i’m trying to write a essay. I used windows upgrade advisor and it didn't see any problem with an upgrade to windows 7. What can i do?

Win 7 Pro 64-bit - Random Freeze

I used windows 7 rc 32 bit before this, it worked like a charm. Now, i installed windows 7 pro 64 bit, it works for a couple of weeks smoothly.

Today, i did a few things:

1) installed thunderbird
2) installed a huawei e160g wireless broadband modem
3) changed my dns to 8. 8. 8. 8 and 8. 8. 4. 4
It froze a few times already, and this is what i recall:
1) firefox was open in all cases
2) the modem was being used in all cases
3) thunderbird was uninstalled, still happening.
However, it cant be firefox, i have been using it for weeks.

I just tried uninstalling the modem, smooth so far, but i cant be sure yet. I want to ask: has anyone else had problems with modems or their drivers/programs?

Win 7 32 Bit Professional Activation Error - Invalid License Key

I bought the 32 bit professional version of windows 7 through the offer for students that windows had a few months ago. According to everywhere i can see online, professional can be installed on two physical pcs. I installed the os on my laptop shortly after getting it, with no problems. After the rc trial ran out, i decided to install windows 7 on my desktop computer, from the same dvd that i burnt the . Iso to and so on, and i didn't have any problems, at all, during the installation. Now, though, it's telling me that i have 3 days to activate windows. I thought that it already was activated- i put the key in, and i haven't used it on any other computers, so this should by the second pc supported. However, it keeps telling me that it isn't a valid license key when i try to put it in now. Why is it giving me this problem?

Frequent Bsods

I have been having frequent bsod's, usually occurring during startup, or just after startup. Event viewer usually displays the following error:event id 1001 the computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0x961a0000, 0x00000000, 0x82a927f3, 0x00000000).

A dump was saved in: c:windowsmemory.dmp. Report id: 071910-18704-01. The blue screen itself usually says page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, i've ran memtest with no errors, updated all drivers, updated bios to latest.

I can upload the dump at request. Pc specs:motherboard: m3a78-cmcpu: amd 9950 memory: 4gb (2x2gb) corsair 800mhz 5-5-5-18graphics card 9600gtpsu: 450w corsair windows 7 (although it used to have blue-screens at startup on xp too) any help is appreciated.

Bsods Under System Load

So, there is my problem, i regularly have blue screens under heavy load (games almost). I tested with different tests all the hardware (ram, vga, cpu, ) each one separate don't come to system crash, but when all work together, like playing games, it crashes later or earlier. Its not power problem too. I guess its problem with vga card driver because i found over google many to say have similar problems. Really there is only one thing to do, reinsert ad-in cards, ram and vga, that's what i didn't do so far.

Anyway there my spec:
Os: win 7 x64
Cpu: e6850 @ 3. 6ghz
Mb: msi p35 platinum
Ram: ocz platinum 800mhz (fsb:ram 1:1)
Vga: asus hd4870x2
Power: chieftech 1200w

Earlier i worked with "win xp x86" and "win7 x64 beta", i really like win7 and thinking about buying it, decided to test not beta and get fresh install with 30 day trial without activation. But how can i buy it, if it all the time bsod's? Earlier windows worked perfectly. Down there is one of typical bug code, but there is other too, one i remember is 0x7e.

Ram Stick Error - Bsods

I built myself a computer about 2 months ago and it has worked perfectly up until 2 days ago! A bsod appeared with the reason being "irlq_. " So i restarted the machine. Worked fine for another little while. Then another bsod but this time with the description "memory_management". Same thing again. Restarted. Then like 30 seconds after windows booting another bsod. But this time saying "atimdag.sys" so it restarted again. This time it freezes and the screen just turns into a load of white lines!

So anyway. Took the cables and components out and reseated everything but the same thing happens! Have deleted the partition and formatted it then reinstalled the os (windows 7 rc) about 3 times now. Still having the same problem!

Have updated the drivers and flashed the bios with the latest release. Still nothing!

The funny thing is when i take out one of the 2gb sticks. It works perfectly fine! I have run memtest and windows diagnostics on both sticks on there own. And together. In every slot config you can think of! When i first ran the tests, it did freeze on me a couple times. So not sure if it found an error or not. However have run the tests many times since on both and on there own and different configs. And no errors were found!

What is annoying however is that it was working for like 2 months before this? It was just a blank machine. I had not installed anything new. Not changed/updated anything. Nothing was different! I am getting so annoyed with myself and the machine.

Upgrade To Ultimate From Professional

I had a copy of vista 32-bit, which was upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (through vista x64 install disk that came with brother's pc), until i had a hard drive failure and am back to square one. I have now installed 64-bit windows 7 professional, again through a family member's install disk that came with his pc. This version, obviously, does not activate, however i was hoping to use anytime upgrade, and my product key to upgrade this to windows 7 ultimate.

Any suggestions?

Upgrade Home Premium To Professional

Background: recently purchased an hp desktop computer that came with windows 7 home premium 64-bit. Since then i upgraded to windows 7 professional via a retail copy purchased locally.

Question: is there a chance of any incompatibility/conflict/? In using a non-hp winodws 7 upgrade package? I seem to have multiple errors on the machine except in safe mode and cannot seem to run long before the system crashes. All my hardware checks pass, but i get blue sceens on just about anything you can get them on - memory_management, ntfs.sys, bad_poool_header, pfn_list_corrupt, system service exception, page_fault_in_nonpaged area, registry error, irqnle.

Compatibility Ms Office 2000 Professional

I am in the market of a new computer and need to make a decision which version of windows 7 to buy. What version of windows 7 will work with office 2000 pro? None or does it matter? I have used outlook 2000 as my email client and created an archive folder with many subfolders. Will they transfer and work without any problems to windows 7? Also, will i be able to open and edit the ms word and excel 2000 files i have created from within windows 7? If not, would i first need to install office 2003 or 2007 or in the near future office 2010 to be able to import all my office 2000 data files and open them from within windows 7 that way?

Compatibility With Microsoft Office Xp Professional

I have a notebook (hp) with  vista home premium 64-bit os installed. It has an upgrade for win7 available free under an hp/microsoft upgrade plan. I have a microsoft office xp professional; vs. 2002 program that i want to use. Is the office suite compatible with any of the levels of windows7 upgrades? Hp's free upgrade is only available on this computer for the win7 home premium version. I need to know which works, or doesn't. If it is more cost effective, i would upgrade my office suite.

Upgrade To Professional Through Student Discount Program

I am receiving windows 7 home premium via a free upgrade program. Can i upgrade to professional through the student discount program. As a college student some of the programs i will be using need to be compatible with windows xp, and the domain join is nice feature. None of these things are on the home premium edition. So i was wondering if it was possible to install the windows 7 home premium upgrade, and then use the student discount upgrade program on to purchase the windows 7 professional, rather than full price through the windows anytime upgrade.

Problem Upgrading From Home Premium To Professional

I had a problem upgrading from win7 home premium to win7 professional. The search for "anytime upgrade" yielded no results. In other words, it could not find anytime upgrade on my machine and that step was necessary to start the upgrade process. A clerk at office depot offered a suggestion that i did not get in two days on this forum and it worked. Click on the control panel and click on the "view by" button. Select large icons and one of the selections should be "windows anytime upgrade".

I selected the icon and entered my product key. Ten minutes later my machine is upgraded to win7 pro. S information, my win7 home premium was an upgrade from vista. This worked for me and i am passing the information on so that it might help others.

I have tried putting the public ip address of the office network followed by the port number in the remote desktop box. This does not work. I have then tried inputting the private ip address of the laptop i'm attempting to remotely access, followed by a colon and then the port number. This still does not work. Ny suggestions?

Can I Re-use Installation Key To Upgrade From Premium To Professional On New Laptop?

I have purchased four computers, and return four computers because i've been told that the computers i have purchased would run the windows 7 professional in xp mode, and they do not.

I have now done research, and will return and purchase a new laptop which i am certain, according to the specifications, will run windows 7 professional in the xp mode.

My question is can i re-use the installation key to upgrade from windows 7 home premium to windows 7 professional on the new laptop i will be purchasing because i am returning the old one. Purchased the laptop on monday, the software, i purchased from a separate vendor when i purchased the initial laptop.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, but i know the new store will not trade my now invalid key code for the software i installed on the laptop i am returning to them.

Can anyone help me please?

Win 7 Random Freezing

I have an acer aspire 6930 with intel core 2 duo (t6400 @ 2. 00 ghz), 4. 00 gb of ram, and win 7 32 bit operating system. Originally had vista on it but upgraded in jan to 7. I am also running avg antivirus on here. It was running fine until around the first of march. Then it started freezing up and you have to do a hard restart to get out of it.

It normally happens when i'm using internet explorer 8 but once it froze up a few minutes after i started it (i had no programs opened at that time). This is getting really annoying, i've tried everything i can think of and a bunch of the stuff in the forum. I play games on facebook but that's the only kind of games.

Win7 Random Shutdown

I am using win 7 ultimate 32 bit, upgraded over vista home premium 32 bit. My laptop is randomly shutting down, it never done it while i had vista installed. It is not going in to sleep mode or anything similar, as some have suggested, it completely shuts down with no warning but can be booted up straight away. The only time i can make it happen for sure is when i run the windows experience index, it gets near to the end and then shuts down. I used to be able to run the wei before so i don't know why it does it now.

Any ideas as this is really annoying me?

Random Corrupt Login Error

Occasionally and more frequently, login will not work properly. I am a genuine 64-bit windows 7 user, and i love the system, but unfortunately i have been running into a recurring problem. I'm sorry that this does not have any specific error messages (i didn't think ahead, and it's not happening now), but these are the symptoms:

- On boot, i get to the login screen just fine, i enter my credentials.

- It says welcome, and then something like "loading your desktop".

- It says something about a corrupted login, then puts me into either:

- A) some weird half-breed of windows 95 and 7, where icons still resemble windows 7, but the taskbar and explorers are grey

- B) this last time, i was logged into a temporary account

- Edit: when i shut down, there is some weird audio feedback

- From then on, if try to log in, an error message about login or profile data not found.

- I usually just restore to an earlier image, and it will work fine.

Unfortunately, this has become more frequent, and i'm wondering what is the culprit. If it is impossible to grasp the situation without further information, i will try to get it. Past searches suggested it was something about the registry.

Random Bsod After Upgrading To Win7

I recently upgraded from windows vista home premium to windows 7 pro and have had some problems with random bsod's. I originally installed windows 7 over windows vista and after about 48 hours i would have a bsod with them happening at random time after that point. I thought that it have have been something left behind by the vista install causing the problem, so i re-installed choosing to format the hard drive so that i would have a "clean" install. 48 hours later, bsod with a second one happening less than two hours later.

The problem has not happened while i have been using the computer, just when the computer is unused and in power saver mode (i use the high performance setting offered in windows 7 only i do not power down that hard drives, just the monitor). I thought the problem may have been caused by the motherboard(i am still not sure on this score but. ) So i went to the manufactures website, downloaded and installed the latest bios that was suppose to included windows 7. That was between the original 48 hour bsod and the second today.

I am running and asus m4a78 plus motherboard with an amd phenom 9500 processor and 4 gb ram. The only drivers that i have installed, other than the drivers supplied by the os for devices are for my video card (ati radeon 5750) and printer (hp deskjet d1660) both of which came from the manufactures websites stating that they where for windows 7(i know, can't always trust them). As i have stated, the system has not bsoded on me during use, just when the sytem is unused so it has not been a major issue to this point, but i would like to try to correct the issue before it becomes a major issue.

Random System Hangs / Freezes

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure this one out. I am currently running windows 7 x64. At any given moment, the system will hang. Sometimes the system will go days without any issues, sometimes it will hang several times during one day. First the screen will freeze and all open programs become unresponsive, the mouse will continue to move around the screen as normal for about thirty seconds, but this time varies.

If i am watching a video or playing music, the audio will continue without interruption for several minutes, but this time will also vary. The caps lock, scroll lock, and num lock lights will continue to work also, meaning if i press any of the affor mentioned buttons, the light turns on/off like normal. The mouse, keyboard lights, and sound usually continue to work until i click the mouse buttons several times, at which point the system becomes entirely unresponsive.

My first instinct was driver issues. Noticing that the screen froze first, i assumed that the vpu was crashing and failing to recover. After several driver updates and much online research to this end, nothing had changed. I then turned my attention to drivers in general, updating all that i could, this again yielded no results. I then updated my bios and had no luck. Assuming it was not a driver issue, i examined my hardware. I thoroughly tested my hard drives, ram, and monitored loads and temperature on the cpu, vpu, and chipset.

I could not see any trends, the freezes appear to be at complete random. I do have an early amd phenom 9600 with the tlb erratum. I have tried enabling and disabling the patch in the bios
With no change. At this point i do not know what else to check. This is my most powerful pc at the moment, and i have reverted back to xp pro x86. I really like 7 over xp, but the instability in 7 makes it difficult to use for fear of data loss. Xp has no stability issues running on this same system. I have four other pc's which also have windows 7, none of them have had any issues. Some are 64-bit, some are 32-bit, all are stable.

My system specs are below: this is with the system at idle.

Motherboard: gigabyte ma790fx-ds5 motherboard - amd 790fx, socket am2+, atx, audio, pci express 2. 0, crossfirex ready, gigabit lan, s/pdif, usb 2. 0, firewire, serial ata, raid

Random Bsod, Error 0x0000001e

I keep getting the bsod on my pc. It was confined to skyrim only at the start but is now random and not always when i am playing games. The last error was when my wife was on skype. I have updated the graphic card drivers and even tried replacing the monitor as i had an error message about recalibrating the screen. As the monitor was pre windows 7 i blamed that and replaced it. It didn't work.
