Network Adapter Does Not Appear In Network Connections

I am able to connect to the internet and to other computers in the workgroup, but i am not able to see the lan connection for my network adapter. It is an nvidia nforce gigabit ethernet adapter.
I've tried reinstalling the chipset drivers but they cannot load and i have to restore the system to before the re-installation. Is there any way this can be fixed?

No Network Connections

I just upgraded a laptop running vista home premium 64 to windows 7 and now that laptop has lost all ability to connect to any networks, wireless and wired. I've tried a different router and a modem to no avail. The laptop is able to detect the wireless network, how ever it keeps trying to reconfigure it, which is not what i intend to do, how is it possible for me to solve this problem without doing so?

Oh, and one of the error messages that i get is the infamous "wireless network adapter does not have a valid ip config". Anyone else find microsoft should stop suggesting to search for solutions online or through remote access when you can't connect to the internet?

Disable Network Adapter Then Re-enable It To Access Network

I have upgraded my system from vista ultimate to windows 7 ultimate, (language was and is dutch). Noe i encounter two problems.

1. The items in configuration panel are not accessible. When i click on one i get an error: windows explorer does not work anymore. When i make a shortcut of that item and enter it, i can access it.

2. Everytime i start windows i don't have access to my network . I have to disable the network adapter and re-enable it. After that it works. How can i solve the two problems.

Manage Network Connections

In windows vista, when i wanted to troubleshoot connectivity issues, i would go to network and sharing center, under tasks i would go to "manage network connections". Not "manage wireless network connections"; just manage network connections. I do not have that option under tasks in windows 7. It is very frustrating. I do "helpdesk" for a local isp and often when they have both wireless and cable connection available, i will have them disable which ever one they are not using. That is just one example of an instance in needing to manage network connections, not just wireless network connections. How is this accomplished with windows 7?

Losing Network Connections

I have a home network with a pc (windows xp), a windows home server, an imac, and a macbook pro, i recently added a pc with windows 7 64-bit. When the windows 7 pc starts, it discover all machines in the network, and i am able to access all the share files and folders in every machine, in other words everything works like is supposed to work.

After maybe 30 minutes or more i loose connection of the xp machine and apple machines from the window 7 pc, the network computers are still there, but i can not access the files, i have to do a restart to fix it. In the midtime when this happens if i go to the router settings page everything is fine, and from the others computers i can see and access the windows 7 files. Why is this happening. Does tcp/ipv6 has to be enable?

How Win 7 Manages Network Connections?

I have a question about how windows 7 manages network connections. I use my pc at work and at home. When at home, i only use a wireless connection, so i don't have any issues there. T work, i use both wired and wireless connections. By default, it appears as though windows 7 activates both adapters. Is there a way to configure the network connections so that if i'm docked, it uses the wired connection and turns off the wireless connection and when i undock, it switches to using the wireless network i have configured?

Network Adapter Issues

I have windows 7 x86, and i upgraded from vista about a year ago. Now, recently i've been having issues with my wireless adapter. It's a netgear wpn111 v2. The connection notification in the corner displays a disconnected icon. Any attempts to reinstall the driver software fail, telling that the drivers can't be loaded, or that the latest drivers are already installed (which they aren't, i know). Any attempts to update the driver will disable it, saying that the drivers aren't there or there was an error.

In addition to this, i can not even get into my advanced network adapter settings to edit any of them, and it seems that anything that calls for the network adapter settings will not open. No error, or anything. I just click it and nothing happens. Now i'm online with this computer, but any fiddling with the netgear settings will force me to a state where i have to system restore if i want to get online again. So far the only thing i haven't tried are a full windows 7 reinstall. I really do not want to do that. So can anyone help me out here? I'm getting kind of desperate, and these errors are preventing me from using any vpn services.

Compatible Network Adapter

Last week i went out and bought a hp pavilion desktop model # p6203w with windows 7. We have one computer wired to our dsl and a linksys wireless g broadband router model # wrt54g. My problem is the belkin wireless adapter i bought didn't work. Call hp customer service and they told me that the belkin adapter wasn't compatible with windows 7. I took the belkin back to the store and looked at the other adapters. None of them are compatible with windows 7.

I have a toshiba satellite laptop that works fine with the router so i don't want to replace the router. What i need to know is what brand and model # adapter i need to buy to get my desktop up and running? I have checked the device manager and it offers dial up and broadband but not wireless.

Wireless Network Adapter Gone Missing

After resuming from a sleep, the network adapter disappeared. This happened before and they replaced the computer, after trying a system restore and then full recovery. Apparently, it's not the computer. The wireless adapter is missing from device manager, much less the network and connections area. In troubleshoot, the computer simply says a network cable needs to be plugged in. There is no wireless choice under network connections. There is no wireless adapter tab upon right click of network adapter in device manager.

The realtek wlan driver does appear in the programs & features list. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and also found/installed a patch for the driver. This did not work. I also started/automated the autoconfig scripts for wireless. Nothing works.

Wireless Network Adapter Compatibility

As stated matter above, i would to have a professional guidance on what should i do. First of all, i currently using the windows 7 which just installed on my acer aspire 4736z (laptop) about a month ago. My wireless connection to the belkin router previously work just fine until recently i decided to change to the new d-link dsl-2640t wireless router. The troubleshooting window kept on bugging me to reset the router. I followed all the instructions, but to no avail nothing changed.

I tried to download some of the wireless network drivers to replace the current wireless network adapter (atheros ar5b93 wireless network) but again nothing changed. Surprisingly, i did succeed to access the internet using the cat 5e ethernet cable which connected point-to-point from the wireless router to the laptop. So here, i suspected there is something wrong with the wireless network adapter.

All the downloaded folders failed to take effect on the current settings. The recommended solution by windows is either to reset network adapter or access point. Is it have anything to do with the compatibility of the wireless network adapter with the dsl-2640t wireless router or any other issues?

Updates Disable Usb Network Adapter

I recently installed windows 7 pro x64, at first everything worked fine however after running windows update my network adapter stopped functioning.network connections in the control panel no longer lists my adapter but the device manager tells me that everything is working properly. The icon by the clock detects neither any wi-fi networks or even the adapter. I have tried this with two different ones a rosewill and a zonet with the same results. Does anyone know if this is a specific update problem or is it a device driver problem?

Network Issue With Intel 82567lm Adapter

We have several dell latitude e4200/4300 laptops that run windows 7 and have the intel 82567lm nic installed. We have a major issue with them when attached to our domain, windows 2003 active directory, in that they loose network connectivity in certain circumstances. When they are not members of the domain this does not happen. We receive no error messages, the cards just stop working. I'm not sure if this is the nic driver failing or a windows component.

Network Adapter Installed In Vista But Not In Win7

I have a new gateway desktop with windows 7 that i am trying to connect to my in-home wireless network. I bought a linksys wireless g usb adapter. When i run through the installation procedure, i am told that the computer recognizes the adapter but one step later i get an error 211 saying that the adapter was not installed properly. I removed the adapter, inserted it in a different usb port and reran the installation setup. Same result.

I spent about an hour last night with a linksys techie on a live chat. She suggested i try installing the adapter on my desktop that runs vista. It installed perfectly. The problem thus would seem to be with windows 7. Any thoughts?

Wireless And Lan Network Adapter Icon Disappeared

I have an acer aspire 8920g running windows 7 ultimate having updated frm windows vista 32-bit. My problem is that for some reason my network adapters, both wireless and the lan ports don't show up in the area they used to, and also both of the drivers i had in my network adapter section in the device manger had a yellow question mark over them which means the device is not working properly because windows cant load the required driver.

This meant i couldn't load the internet, through using another pc i managed to reinstall and update one of my devices/drivers (intel wireless wifi link 4695agn) but my other one (atheros ar8121/ar8113/ar8114 pci-e ethernet controller) hasn't stopped having this error (code 31 error) even though ive downloaded the latest drivers from the atheros website which means i still cannot use my lan ports. Does anyone have any idea what may have happened?

Asus Usb-n13 Network Adapter Problem

I'm running windows 7 32bit with a msi ms-7698 motherboard. I'm trying to install the drivers for an asus usb-n13 network adapter. I have no cd drive so i've downloaded the drivers from the asus site. When i run the setup file for the driver it says it can only be ran on windows 7 (which is what i'm using). I've also tried using device manager to manually select the driver and install but that doesn't work either. I've also installed the "asus wlan control center" thinking there would be an option to install drivers through that. But when i try to run it it says that it will run once the network adapter is plugged in, which it is. Under "devices and printers" it shows my adapter as "unspecified" so my pc is recognizing that it is plugged in.

Linksys Wireless-g Usb Network Adapter Update Fails

I recently installed windows 7 on my pc that was previously running xp. Ever since installation i've had issues with my wireless adapter. Whenever my pc is shutdown, restarted, or left to sleep for extended periods the network monitor in the tray displays that there are no connections available (as if the system doesn't recognize the adapter).

I have been uninstalling/reinstalling the driver from the disk every time this happens. Also, the update mentioned in the title fails to install. Would this update fix my problem and how do i fix it?

Mapping Network Drives On A Home Network Issue

I have two pc on my home network, one is a desktop running window 2000, attached to this is an external hard drive. The second is a laptop running windows 7. Before i upgraded to windows 7 i was running window vista on the laptop. When i had window vista on my laptop i was able to map a network drive to both the desktop's hard-drive and also to the external hard drive attached to the desktop.

After upgrading to windows 7 when i try to access the desktop or map the external hard drive i'm asked for a domain password. When i enter the user id and password of the desktop i keep getting the request for my domain password. I don't remember setting up a domain password at the time of the windows 7 upgrade.

Network Name

Running windows 7 home prem 32bit i just replaced my wireless router. I have 4 pc's connected in my network; 2 ethernet; 2 wireless. Prior to this change out when i placed my mouse pointer over the network strength meter in the taskbar of all pc's. All showed "banker".

When i started up the new router. The select a location window appeared on all pc's. I selected "home network". I had to do this on all pc's. All my connections are fine to all pc's. However, now when i place my mouse pointer over the network strength meter in the taskbars. I see on 1 pc. "Network 4", another pc shows "home 2". None of the pc's show the same.

I opened network and sharing center on one of my pc's; selected change adapter settings. I see the network . Its displayed as "local area connection" next line it displays network 4. And the next line my network card model is shown. If i right click, select rename. What is showing that can be renamed is local area connection. I want to change "network 4" to banker (which is was prior to changing my router). How do i do this?

Network Xp With 7

I get my new windows 7 laptop to recognize two other xp computers on the network. I have tried following the common workgroup advice, setting security to allow access and basic windows trouble shooting suggestions, but nothing seems to work. Sometimes all computers appear in the network window, but when i click on them to access, win 7 tells me it can't find them. Other times the xp computers don't even appear in the network window (seems to be random without me making any changes).

Is there any easy to follow instructions to get xp and 7 to network and give me the ability to share files and printers? I've tried doing this with w7 pc attached through wireless and hard wired network. Still had no luck. Can anyone help?
