Standard Vga Graphics Adapter Issue

Installed windows 7 on my sony vaio pcv -rx752, tried to playback video on wmp and it keeps crashing. Checked the device manager and see an issue with my standard vga graphics adapter. Windows update keeps downloading its own driver and installing and it does not fix the error.

One of the errors i got on the update advisor report is about the sis 650-740 driver. I think that the driver for the vga graphics on the motherboard needs the sis 650_740 but i cannot find one for windows 7. When i try to download the on from sony vaio they only have one for xp and windows 7 wont let me install it. Any suggestions?

Graphics Adapter Driver For Gateway 7330gz

My mom recently had a virus on her gateway 7330gz laptop and couldn't find her gateway os cd, so we bought and installed windows 7 professional 32bit. The installation went without a hitch, installed all the drivers, had to get older windows xp audio drivers as explained in this thread but other than that, not bad at all and runs pretty smooth. The only problem is, windows 7 installed the default graphics adapter driver and i can't find a real driver for my video adapter. I'm able to run at my laptop's native resolution, but there is no video hardware acceleration or anything like that, so even playing spider solitaire is near impossible and viewing youtube videos at fullscreen results in laggy viewing.

I've run intel's driver finder program and it says that i have a driver installed for it but the best one isn't supported by windows 7. And gateway's drivers for the 7330gz are from 2004 and are only for xp. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me, or if anyone knows of a workaround or a current driver that would support my system.

Graphics Adapter Won't Support Aero User Interface

Why does the windows 7 upgrade advisor say my graphics adapter won't support the windows aero user interface even though i run a geforce 8800gt? I have an hpm1070n with an upgraded video card, power supply, and 4g ram. Everything else is original hardware. The upgrade advisor gives me a caution sign (yellow triangle and black exclamation) and says my graphics adapter won't support the aero user interface, but my 8800gt has much better specifications than the aero hardware requirements.

Right now i thought my weak link was my old ddr ram and my 2. 8g p4 processor, why would it say my graphics adapter isn't up to par?  Does it have something to do with the motherboard?  I would like to upgrade to win7 but don't want to spend the money right now if it won't run properly on my current rig.

Startech Usb To Vga Adaptor

I have a usb2vgae from startech which worked great to extend my display to an additional monitor.
When i upgraded to windows 7 it stopped working and startech says that usb2vgae does not support windows 7. They have a new product called usb2vga2 but tech information on the web seems to give conflicting info about that products support for windows 7. Can anyone confirm if either:-

- The startech usb2vga2 does in fact work with windows 7
Or
- There is another adaptor which has been tested with windows 7 for usb to vga?

Dlp Vga Display Problem

I have a new computer running windows 7 and for my monitor, i use my "60 widescreen dlp television and it has a vga port in back, so it is definitely designed for use with a computer. When i run windows at my desired resolution of 1920x1200, the monitor cuts off the right side of the screen a little. Its not a huge problem as it is just cutting off a small portion of the screen on the right side, probably less than 50 pixels at that resolution, but its somewhat annoying.

If i use the ati control panel to manually adjust the picture position, if i move it one notch to the left to make the whole image show up, the picture gets really dark and then if i watch videos or something with fast movement, all the black levels get messed up and the screen has a bunch of strange horizontal tearing or ghosting. I don't know if there's any programs to fix this or if its just a video card/monitor issue. Any suggestions are welcome.

Ati Radeon Hd 3200 Graphics Graphics Problem

I just upgraded windows 7 (twice now) and i'm experiencing graphics problems. It is most prevalent in windows media player and mozilla firefox.

Here's some pictures:
http://i254. Photobucket.com/albums/hh81/plasmaxwisp/errors.png
http://i254. Photobucket.com/albums/hh81/plasmaxwisp/erros2.png

It seems like the colors just drop off. And i know that windows media player does not look like that! The only internet browser that isn't affected by this is chrome. I've experienced another slew of graphics problems including a really bright wallpaper, but that inexplicably went away. I'm pretty sure i've updated my graphics card drivers. I've tried to load games, and they work with no problems; the problem only exists in these programs (as far as i know).

Computer specs:
Hp artist edition (this may contribute to the problem?) Laptop, pavilion dv6
Amd turion x2 ultra duel-core processor
Acpi 64 bit system
Ati radeon hd 3200 graphics card
4 gigs o' ram
Any additional specs needed? Just ask.

Fn Keys On Win 7 And Vga With Dual Monitor

Okay so i just installed windows 7 last night and was looking forward to plugging in my laptop (hp latitude d600) into my 32" lcd in my room via a vga cable. Which worked on my previous os of windows xp. However it is now not working when i plug the cables in and i can't find where to tell the computer to use the vga link. On top of all that i tried using fn f8 to solve that problem to make it go crt/lcd but my fn keys are now not functioning. I googled it and used the hotfix they provided but that also did not work. Ideas?

I bought this device to allow for my win7 machine and winxp machines to remain connected and then when other computers which come in to be worked on, win vista or win xp, i can easily connect the third and or fourth computers. Each could be running virus scans, disk defragmenter, etc. , While other work could be accomplished.

However, i am able to log in with my password. I created another user account, but am not able to log in using this too.

Win7 Won't Read Standard Sd Cards

I have this front panel card reader , just plugs into a standard usb port. If i format the card in my camera (fat), win7 won't read it, says i need to format it. However, if i boot back into xp, the same card reader reads it just fine.

Also it reads 2gb cards as 971mb, as you can see.

I do have the disk that came with the card reader, but it says if on xp or later you don't need to install the driver, which i didn't in xp as it just worked when i plugged it in. And actually, win7 won't even read the cd, i have to boot back into xp just for that too. So apparently win7 can't read certain file systems or something. I can burn disks just fine, tho, and the cd is readable in xp using the same drive so it's not the drive or the disk that's the problem.

Oh, i have 2 separate sd cards, both with the same issue.

Standard Dual Channel Pci Ide Controller Driver

I am attempting to install the windows 7 rc onto my pc. The compatibility check is fine so i try the install. I choose custom because i want a fresh start, not an upgrade. When i select the hard drive (one drive, one partition), it says that "windows cannot be installed on disk 0 partition 1". The details say:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Windows needs the driver for device [standard dual channel pci ide controller]. Click 'load driver' and load the required device driver. I tried copying the drivers that xp pro is using with no luck. I copy them to a flash drive and then select them in the install ui. It then just goes back to the same message.

I am trying to upgrade my vista ultimate 32-bit to windows 7 ultimate 32-bit. The upgrade advisor showed no issues except for itunes (which i ignore). After starting the installation i get the following message from the compatibility check and the installation aborts: the following issues are preventing windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

For these items, make the following changes: install updated drivers for the following devices. Open control panel and search for "update device drivers". Ide ata/atapi controllers: standard dual channel pci ide controller. I tried to find a driver but no luck. Can you advise on how i need to proceed. I currently have the microsoft driver v 6. 0. 6001. 18000 dated 21/06/2006 installed

Problem: Delay On Boot Due To Drivers Files: Ndproxy.sys, Srv.sys, And Vga.sys

Recently installed a fresh copy of windows 7 x86 and x64 in separate instances to see if the problem of a two minute period between the "windows is starting" screen and the desktop. Neither had a visible impact. I looked around online and found how to create a boot log. The following are the drivers/services that could not be installed during my startup:

4 instances of ndproxy. Svs
1 instance of vga.sys (hadn't installed video card driver yet)
1 instance of srv.sys

After installing the necessary drivers and with no alert from the device manager, the boot time is still roughly 2 minutes. Right now i am at a loss on what to do. For reference my avg startup time in xp was around 10 seconds from the windows logo. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Network Adapter Issues

I have windows 7 x86, and i upgraded from vista about a year ago. Now, recently i've been having issues with my wireless adapter. It's a netgear wpn111 v2. The connection notification in the corner displays a disconnected icon. Any attempts to reinstall the driver software fail, telling that the drivers can't be loaded, or that the latest drivers are already installed (which they aren't, i know). Any attempts to update the driver will disable it, saying that the drivers aren't there or there was an error.

In addition to this, i can not even get into my advanced network adapter settings to edit any of them, and it seems that anything that calls for the network adapter settings will not open. No error, or anything. I just click it and nothing happens. Now i'm online with this computer, but any fiddling with the netgear settings will force me to a state where i have to system restore if i want to get online again. So far the only thing i haven't tried are a full windows 7 reinstall. I really do not want to do that. So can anyone help me out here? I'm getting kind of desperate, and these errors are preventing me from using any vpn services.

Compatible Network Adapter

Last week i went out and bought a hp pavilion desktop model # p6203w with windows 7. We have one computer wired to our dsl and a linksys wireless g broadband router model # wrt54g. My problem is the belkin wireless adapter i bought didn't work. Call hp customer service and they told me that the belkin adapter wasn't compatible with windows 7. I took the belkin back to the store and looked at the other adapters. None of them are compatible with windows 7.

I have a toshiba satellite laptop that works fine with the router so i don't want to replace the router. What i need to know is what brand and model # adapter i need to buy to get my desktop up and running? I have checked the device manager and it offers dial up and broadband but not wireless.

Usb Adapter Not Being Detected

Okay, here's what i'm having a problem with. I purchased a mayflash n64 duel port adapter, which is supposed to be "plug and play". It says compatible with windows 98, me, xp, and vista. But my pc isn't even acknowledging that i've plugged something in! Is there something i'm missing here, or am i just out of luck because i bought into windows 7?(I've never had trouble using older programs/devices before. And i was really excited about using the n64 controller with the n64 games. )I searched for drivers, but since it's "plug and play" i couldn't find any.
