Must Have Administrator Privileges To Run

Administrator account used, not recognized to make changes; downloaded windows live onecare, error 0x0c600c03, windows live onecare won't uninstall, can't use windows live one care clean up tool, says must have administrator privileges to run. I have windows 7. I downloaded windows live onecare and it would not work. I received error 0x0c600c03. Then i learned windows live onecare would not work on a 64 bit system, which is what i have.

I attempted to uninstall it and it would not uninstall. I tried to use the windows live one care clean up tool and it says i must have administrator privileges to run this tool. I am the administrator. Any help on how to uninstall windows live onecare is greatly appreciated. If anymore information is needed to help resolve this, please let me know.

No Administrator Privileges

I just bought a new toshiba laptop today, and set it up. Everything seemed to go smoothly, until i tried to delete the one of the silly desktop shortcuts that was pre-installed by toshiba. Then user account control took over and said that i needed to be logged in as the administrator to do this. It said that i have to type a password and click yes, or no. There is no space to enter a password, and the 'yes' box is disabled. My only choice is to click the 'no' and go back to the drawing board.

The same happens when i tried to install adobe flash player. I also tried to change my account (which is marked as a 'standard account' into an administrator one, but the same message occurs. This is very frustrating, what use is a computer if i can't delete or install the programmes i want to use?!

Administrator Permissions / Privileges

Another new computer running windows 7. I'm pleased with windows 7 but have encountered the problem of being owner and administrator account but there are privileges not allowed. The error reads "cannot import c:usersdocumentsieopen. Reg: error accessing registry. " I have used this script before on a windows xp computer and had no trouble at all. I am asking someone to help me change the administrator privileges so i can add to the registry. Like the answers i read it is hard to believe a computer with me as administrator doesn't have these privileges.

Problem With Administrator Privileges Inconsistency

Running windows 7 64-bit on a quad processor. I am the only user. Sometimes i have no problem with administrator rights and can do what i need to do. Sometimes a message pops up saying i need administrator rights to do something and i tell it to continue and it does the function. Other times the system tells me i can't update my software or install new software because i lack administrator rights. In some of these cases it will not do the function.

My outlook 2007 crashes all the time and the forums all tell me to disable add-ins but the automatic add-ins from microsoft will not allow me to disable them because the system says i lack administrator rights. The automatic updates automatically install microsoft updates which i neither use nor want for coordination with mobile devices. I would like to remove those add-ins and see if outlook 2007 would stop crashing.

(No error codes, it just instantly goes away. ) How do i make sure i have administrator rights everywhere in my system not just seemingly in some places? This is very frustrating.

Win7 Doesn't Let Me Use Administrator Privileges

I'm having an extremely annoying problem on my w7. Every once in a while this os doesn't let me do certain commands, such as updating a program (a game in this case) or installing a stupid program which is for one reason or another necessary for using another program and it says i need administrator's privileges. Well guess what, i am using the one and only user of this computer which is the admin's user, so there's no reason i can't do these things i want. That would make sense if it would ask me the password again when i try to do these things i want, but it doesn't! How can i fix this?

Elevate Mode Run As Administrator Broken

Suddenly i noticed that:

1) my 'run as administrator' context menu item is kinda broken: it doesn't work on shortcuts. If i use it for shortcut just nothing happens.exe files have normal behavior, uac prompt and such.

2) the item in start menu  'my computer' is also working weird: if i try to do 'manage', i get an uac prompt after which nothing happens. The mmc console itself is just fine and i can get computer management inside of mmc.exe. Also i can normally run all 'administrative tools' items, too. This is fine because those shortcuts have checkbox 'run as administrator' set within them already.

3) i have 'elevate' tool setup for command-line easy elevating and it can't elevate shortcuts either.exe files are elevated just fine.

What can be broken? I suppose its something in registry about elevating?

Login As Administrator

I have had a few programs that have asked me to log in as administrator which you think being the only log in i would be but apparently on some programs i don't have the right. I found this:

Click start
- Type: cmd
- Right-click cmd and click run as administrator
- Type: net user administrator /active:yes (notice there is a space between the word "administrator" and the "forward slash"
- Press enter
- Exit
- Restart windows and you will be given the opportunity to log on as administrator. Is there any other way around it?

Administrator Disabled

My administrator account was disabled and i have the same problem as rodek. The only difference is that i did not disabled administrator - i don't know how it happened. Now i am not able to make any changes to my computer.

I had administrator enabled via local security policy. After installing the programs, i disabled the administrator via cmd.exe "net user administrator /active:no". Now i want to install some additional programs and i cannot enable the administrator login because the uac settings do not allow me to turn the admin on. In the command prompt, it says "type administrator password and then click yes. " But when i type the password the "yes" button remains gray and i cannot click it, so it does not allow me to login as admin, so i'm stuck only able to login as a user, but not the admin. I know the admin password and have not forgotten it.

Cannot Understand Who The Administrator Is?

I never shut my pc down, i always leave it on. This pc i have had for 4 weeks. Tonight i went to make changes to audio recorder and selected troubleshoot audio recordings.

It then darkens the screen and tells me to type in administrator password and then click yes.
I thought i was admin? I thought when i switched off my pc and switched it back on again that that was the password i was being asked to enter and so i thought i knew it.

But when i try to do this troubleshoot it comes up no response, i have also tried just hitting enter but  both do nothing and just send me back to the original screen.

How do i find out who the admin is on my own pc?
When i login when powering up what is this password?
Where will get my admin password from?

Activating Administrator

I used the transfer utility to transfer my credentials from a windows business laptop to a brand new laptop with windows home premium on it. When i got to windows hp i found out that my account was a standard account instead of an administrators account - even through the account says administrator type when i drilled down it was set to standard and would not allow me to change it. Looking at some of the other threads i tried a number of things and this is what i found to work below for me.

Signed on to my account
Went to the windows/system32 directory and found cmd.exe
Highlighted the file name and right clicked
Chose run as administrator from the menu
Double clicked on the file
The command window opened
Typed in net user administrator /active:yes
Closed the command window
Rebooted

The administrator now show up on the welcome window i tried the windows key and r - which did not work. When i tried to type lusrmgr. Msc i got the message that this was not supported in home premium my question is was this because my transferred account was an administrator's account to begin with? Or was this fluke that i managed this - the administrators account when activated does not have a password on it and i'm assuming that i should create one - but i'm not sure what will do after the fact to windows utilities and the like. Anyone?

Cannot Download As Administrator

We received two brand new hp6241f pcs running windows 7 from future shop here in canada. I got home tonight from work and found my dad still sitting in front of the first, trying to get it set up. At that point he was trying to activate the 60-day ms office trial but every time he clicked the link to get a key he'd get a message saying he wasn't connected to the internet. I confirmed that he was; we can totally surf.

I found another way of getting the key but kept getting redirected to a bing page that said "we are unable to find [url]. "

I tried a few times, figured it was a bad link and decided to move on. I went to download windows live mail.

Same stupid thing. The download page would load, the download would be about to begin and the redirect would happen again.

I've tried downloading firefox and ccleaner - same problem.

I've browsed forum after forum and answer after answer. There's only one user and she's identified as administrator.

I played with security settings up the yin/yang. I do hi-speed internet technical support for a living so i can easily disable common stuff. I followed some instructions to make changes of the user controls but full control is already enabled.

I'm at my wits end and hating win7. There are too damn many security options, if you ask me. Too many to find, apparently, because nothing i've done is working.
