Nvidia Graphic Card Problem

I just upgraded from windows vista home premium 64 bit to to windows 7 home premium - now at random times the computer goes blank for a few seconds (blank screen) and restarts - i am getting the error code "display device driver has stopped working and has recovered. Display device driver nvidia windows kernal mode driver version 186. 44 stopped responding and has successfully restarted. "  I spoke to a windows tech who downloaded the latest nvidia version 186. 81 - this did not help - if anything the problem is worse.

Video Card (nvidia) Problem

A friend's system runs dual-boot (xp and win7).initially with on-board video chip but this was very slow in graphics, so a video card (nvidia geforce 8000 series) was bought. Under win7 the system hangs after some time (even if not being used), but not under xp. So, back to the shop, replaced the video-card with a geforce gt220. Same problem: system hang after some time, but no problems under xp. We have replaced the driver with newer and older versions, but no difference.

Nvidia 7950 Gt Video Card Drivers Issue

I'm trying to install video card drivers on windows 7. When i first installed windows 7 and installed nvidia drivers everything was working fine for about a week. Now i can not get windows 7 to boot with video drivers installed and display my desktop. As soon as it gets passed the windows 7 boot logo my flat panel says no signal and turns off.

I boot into safe mode and uninstall the nvidia drivers and windows will boot just fine, but i have no video drivers installed. When i go into safe mode with that problem and i have windows troubleshoot it, it says that my video card drivers are up to date, but does not support wddm.

I have tried almost everything i can think of different brands of drivers and i don't know how many different versions but they all end up with the same problem. I'm running the nvidia 7950 gt video card with a asus p5b motherboard with the latest video card drivers on windows 7 operating system.

Nvidia Video Card - Display Driver Has Stopped Responding

Do you have any fixes for the "display driver has stopped responding" with nvidia video cards? Common problem with no fix. I have the newest drivers are installed. Have had this issue with 3 win oses. It's really annoying as it doesn't crash the system. I've had it with xp, vista and win 7.

Nvidia 6150se Nforce 430 Video Card Driver Issue

I have a hp pavilion desktop a6123w. It originally came with vista home premium. I purchased and updated to win-7 home premium. I keep having problems with high cpu usage and the video card driver can't be updated. I have a nvidia 6150se nforce 430. I've tried going to hps site to get drivers but they won't offer anything for win-7. When i emailed them they said since i purchased my on upgrade to win-7 instead of buying the upgrade from them that i was on my on. I tried going to nvidias site and have tried several of there driver downloads and they keep saying not compatible.

I think i understand that the video card is built into the motherboard of this pc. I have tried getting updated bios for the board or chipset and have had the same negative results. I have re installed win-7 several times. Each time i have to go through a nightmare of problems with my printer scanner fax software. Have also had issues with media player after re installs. I installed the same win-7 on my toshiba laptop and the only function i lost was the built in webcam.

I've tried fixit but no real help. Windows update has not helped with the driver. Device manager says "can not initialize the device for this hardware(code 37)". It says the device is not using any resources because it has a problem. I am totally confused as to what to try next. Windows defender and security essentials scans do not show any problems with viruses or malware.

It seems as though when i reinstall win-7 everything works better for a short time and then the problems slowly start increasing. I originally had norton symantec 360, but didn't reinstall it after the second re install of win-7. I would appreciate any advice that you may be able to give me. I think that i may be able to install a plug in video card and need to know what steps to take to do that as far as conflicts with the mother board and drivers.

Ati Hd 3650 Card Video Card Problem

Let me start off with saying i'm fairly experienced with computers. I've tried pretty much all i can think of. Not sure if i'm missing something so i'm coming here for some advice.

I upgraded from xp to win7 home premium. In xp, my video card was detected and worked fine. In 7, i noticed its not being detected. It shows my display adapter to be "standard vga graphics adapter".

I have an ati hd 3650 card with 512 mb memory. This is an agp card. My bios has 2 options for the video, either pci or agp/onboard. There does not seem to be any other options relating to video card that i can change except for memory allowance which is irrelevant (but i did change that too anyway)

I can't figure out what's causing 7 to not detect the card. My catalyst drivers are fully updated. Windows upgrade advisor did not tell me there would be issues with upgrading to 7. I'm also noticing my samsung 23" screen is being detected as a generic pnp monitor. Related issue?

Anyone have any good ideas?

Graphic Card Attributes Blocked

This is new build with windows 7 ultimate. I have a asus p5b-vm do motherboard, 3. 2 pentium 4, geforce 9500gt 2gb 128bit graphics card, 1gb ram kingston hyperx. Seagate 500gb primary, and a 250gb secondary. The attributes for the graphic card are blocked. Cant see the card in bios, display has none as well. I can see other programs and their attributes, publisher etc.

No nvidia card, just available memory from pci 2 way device. When i try to update the drivers for this graphics card  i get no device installed for drivers. Yet the system is using my card apparently with some generic drivers?

Ati Pci Video Card Error Code 43

I recently upgraded my system to windows 7. I have an ati firemv 2200 pci (non-express) that i use to drive my 2nd and 3rd monitors. The card previously worked under my xp configuration. The windows 7 compatibility center listed the card as compatible. I have attempted to use multiple versions of the catalyst driver with no success. Currently i am trying to use the ati version 8. 253. 200. 1 driver, and it is giving an error code 43 in the properties window. My current radeon x800 that i am using for my primary monitors is working fine. I would really like to get my 2nd and 3rd monitors working again.

Ati Radeon X1950gt Graphic Card Problem

I was using windows xp 32 bit with 2 gb memory and i bought 2 gb more last week. I had this 3. 25 gb memory problem with 32 bit os and i decided to install 64 bit os. This part is very important; i checked my computer with windows 7 upgrade advisor and there were no incompatible hardware or any other problems with my computer according to the report (all items were green - and actually i just check and it still says that there is no problem).

After this nice advice, i started to install windows 7 yesterday. During the installation i had a graphic card driver problem, which took my couple of hours but i passed that one. The installation was finished and windows 7 was working with 4 gb memory. But then i couldn't connect to internet (there was a strange dhcp and ip problem). Somehow it was related with the on-board network card and the memories, so i took 2 gb memory and the internet has started to work. I installed the latest drivers and programs with 2 gb memory.

Because of my on-board network card has some conflict with 4 gb memory, i bought a new network card today and i was assuming that i can use my 2 gb memory again. But when i insert the other 2 gb memory (when it becomes 4 gb), i started to have our lovely bsod. If i remove any of the memory pairs, there is no problem. If insert 4 gb memory and i change the configuration in msconfig - boot - advanced options - maximum memory to 4096, again there is no problem (but then it says 3. 25 gb usable, which is same situation with xp).

With this configuration, there is no problem with the on-board network card and internet also and i didn't even insert the new ethernet card (probably the reason is that on this config, i'm not using 4 gb). My configuration is;. Asus m2a-mvp motherboard.amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4800+. 2 x 1 gb twinmos + 2 x 1 gb kingston memory (if it's necessary i can give more info). Ati radeon x1950gt graphic cardthe latest ati drivers are installed (date: 10. 02. 2010 - version: 8. 593. 100. 0 - and also tried the windows drivers).

Ati Radeon 5970 Graphic Card Problem

I bought a new allienware desktop. The graphic card is ati redeon 5970. For the first 2 weeks, it worked well. After the first 2 weeks, the graphic card stared to crash by some reason (i don't know why). The whole screen stuck and freeze. I clicked alt+ctrl+delete to reboot it, but it didn't work. All i could do was to pull off the power. I called aw customer centre, they said my graphic card was down, and replaced a new one for me. However, it didn't help at all. My computer stuck more often.

Sometime, it freezes like once per 5 sec. Now i can't even use that computer. The system told me that "display driver has stopped responding and it has recovered. " Can someone please tell me how to solve it? I tried to restore my operation system. I checked my graphic card driver was installed correctly. I download it form ati. However, it still doesn't help, what if i change my operation system to vista, does that help?

Ati Mobility Radeon X1300 Graphic Card Compatibility With Win 7

Can i install windows 7 on an acer aspire 5600 with an ati mobility radeon x1300 graphic card? My os on my laptop is vista ultimate. Now i want to upgrade to windows 7 32-bit. I downloaded the windows upgrade advisor and that said that i have to update my drivers for the ati mobilty radeon x1300 card after installing.

But i've seen several messages on internet that that card didn't work with windows 7. In the windows compatibilty center some x1300 cards are compatible and some are not. And there i can't find the mobility version. The acer website has no drivers for an aspire 5600 for windows 7.

Cannot Get Nvidia Graphics Card Working

I have a gateway pc, model e-4610d sb. I upgraded to w7 32 bit from w vista 32 bit. Everything was running beautifully before i upgraded (so why did i upgrade?. Christmas present. ). Anyway, i have lost my nvidia card and my ability to run aero. My wei has dropped nearly two whole points because i can only get my onboard graphics chip to work. I have tried every driver known on nvidia and gateway forums/websites. I have now clean installed w7, back to w vista, then back to w7.

I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers and the card itself. It is a nvidia geforce 7600 gs. I cannot find the manufacturer of the card because gateway will not support me any longer (they sold the division handling my computer configuration to mpc who went bankrupt). Everything else is working very well. Much better than vista, in fact. Except this.

Is there anyone on here who can help? Please ask if i have performed a task before telling me to do so. Most likely i have already tried it and i can just tell you what the results were. I am really looking for someone who has specific knowledge of this exact issue and how to get the card to show up in the device manager.

Bsod When Installing Nvidia Card Drivers

Important info:
Graphics card: geforce 7950 gx2
Ram: 2 gigabytes
Hdd: 400 gigabyte sata drive
Processor: amd athlon 64 fx-62 (dual core, 2. 8 ghz)

I have a shuttle pc, and am running the latest bios, not sure the version number, but i just flashed it several days ago when still on xp.

Okay, here goes. I just installed a clean copy of windows 7 x64 pro over windows xp. It was a major pain, i kept getting a blue screen error when setup was 'completing'. It was a stop error for file nvlddmkm.sys, which after some research, i believe it to be a nvidia file. I could not get win7 to install.

Finally, after hours of research, i finally got it to work by deleting the nvlddmkm.sys files during the 'expanding windows files' step. This was done via command prompt (shift f10). I believe i found the steps for this process here.

Continuing, i'm finally booted into windows, and i'm assuming that i am running the basic windows vga drivers. I ran windows update and attempted to install the drivers for my 7950 gx2, reboot, 'windows is starting', bsod. Boot into safe mode, uninstall drivers, install drivers from nvidia, reboot, bsod.

It seems that no matter what set of drivers i install, after i reboot, the computer will say 'starting windows' and then will get the bsod. The code is 116, and the associated file is nvlddmkm.sys.

I know that during the install process that i deleted the nvlddmkm.sys file from two locations. I believe one was in the system32 folder, can't remember the other location. Currently, this file is not located in the drivers folder (c:windowssystem32drivers).

Can you guys please help me in getting my graphics card drivers installed?  No matter what i do, i get a bsod after a reboot and before windows loads. I have tried several versions of the driver but to no avail. I believe i might need to copy the nvlddmkm.sys file to somewhere. I do have a nvlddmkm. Sy_ file that is packaged with all the drivers, but i believe it needs to be expanded?

Nvidia Driver Update For Graphics Card

Today i had something weird happen to my windows 7 pro system. I went and updated my nvidia drivers to the new ones that came out today. I removed the old ones and installed new ones. When i went to restart after the start screen came up i got a message telling me that my windows 7 did not pass the genuine advantage. I had to download an activation fix from microsoft. I didn't have to re-enter my product key. Now this was only an update to my graphics card. What gives?. Why did this happen. Even ms security essentials gave me a warning until i applied the activation update.

Ineveruseda graphics card before, but since il be using windows 7 ultimate from now on, wanted to know whether an graphics card which works with the agp port and run aero in windows 7. It supports vista completely and i hope the same is with windows 7.

Nvidia Geforce Gt 325m Graphics Card Problem

I have the asus-n61jv notebook with nvidia geforce gt 325m grpahics card on windows 7 32 bit. I downloaded the version 197. 16 driver from nvidia. By default my notebook detects the driver as standard vga graphics adapter. The chip type is detected as "intel(r)ironlake mobile graphics chipset". Now when i follow the manual driver installation the message i am receiving is "installing this device is not recommended because windows cannot verify that iy is compatible with your hardware. "

I have ignored the message and the nvidia geforce gt 325m is installed.

But when i go to

Control panel-> display-> change display settings and then click on the advanced settings link a window opened with the title "(default monitor) and properties". There is an adapter tab in there which i assume should list the details of the graphics card.

Here it is showing nothing i.e

Chip type: "unavailable"

Total available graphics memory: "unavailable" etc. One interesting point is even though the driver installation was successful when i shut down the computer and start it again it showed the message that "standard vga graphics adapter" is installed successfully and it replace the nvidia driver.

So i updated the driver files once again and the nvidia came back. On a test basis when i shut down the computer and start it again the "standard vga graphics adapter" took over once again. In device manager i can see two display adapters are listed:

1. Standard vga graphics adapter

2.nvidia geforce gt 325m

As fyi: i ran the wei but it reported an error and couldn't complete it. Any idea why is this happening?

If i install windows 7 on a computer running windows xp professional and am not satisfied with its performance, can i replace the motherboard, video card and larger hard drives and reinstall windows 7 by calling the activation center? Second Life - Your Video Card Drivers Are Not Installed Properly

''your video card drivers are not installed properly, are out of date or are for unsupported hardware'' this message keeps coming from secondlife.com only after i have registered this computer, using the product key and installed free trial of microsoft office for the next 3 months. During installation, windows kept saying that ''drive c has not enough space'' and demanded 'delete' old 'unused programs', i agreed, but there was never the question about hard disk drivers.

I have windows vista home premium for 3 years, (this page isn't available here in your web) , and since 19th of february2010, i'm reading all the 'advises', trying to 'restore', nothing helps. Last year the secondlife.com was installed easily and had high speed. I never experienced one single problem, the same computer, the same hardware, just suddenly become 'unsupported', i need windows just restore all my setting back, and stop deleting my settings and downloads. How can i restore hardware which was deleted by windows from my computer?

Aero Stopped Working / Video Card Problem

I have an hp with an intel core2 quad core, 4gb ram, 320 hard drive and a geforce 9800gt video card with 1gb of memory. I upgraded to windows 7 about 8 months ago and ever thing seemed to work well until about a month ago when aero quit working. I have tried everything. I think it is a problem with the nvidia drivers because when the problem started, my computer starting crashing, my screen would turn blue and tell me that there is a problem with my video card drivers. So i when to nvidia and got the new driver for it. It didn't do anything. Then i uninstalled it and installed it again using driver genius pro and nothing happened once again. But then i restored the driver using driver genius and aero started working but only for a few days then it would decide randomly when to work, i would have to restart my computer multiple times to get it to work. I got sick of that and tried re-installing windows 7 from scratch.

I formatted the entire hard drive and now aero it's not working at all no matter how many times i restart my computer. I personally think it's a problem with the nvidia driver, and it sucksnot being able to figure this out . When i run the troubleshoot for the display aero effects i get a message that sais . "The current video card may support aero with a driver that is compliant with the windows display driver model (wddm).contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a wddm-compatible driver. "One user told me that currently the 257 series drivers are not wddm certified. They can cause issues with aero working properly and that i should use the 197 series set. I have no clue what this means or how to get the "197 series set". Once again i got a nvidia geforce 9800gt video card, but i don't think the computer its recognizing it because when i run dxdiag and click on the display tab it does not recognize a video card.

Also, when i go to the nvidia control panel it tells me that i am not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu. My computer is still crashing and a blue screen appears and tell me it's my display drivers and a bunch of other stuff i don't have time to read.

Xfx Radeon 5850 - Your Video Card Is Missing A Driver

I have an xfx radeon 5850 as my video card. It is fully updated to the latest 10. 3 drivers from the amd website. However, windows 7 feels the need (not sure if this was after an update, but more than likely because this was never there before) to tell me i need to install a driver. This is the only notification that the action center is giving me. But it doesn't stop there, it's also telling me that my video card is the "5700" series, sorry windows 7, but you're wrong. Since it's a 5850, it is clearly in the 5800 series.

2 Video Cables Hooked Up From Graphics Card Boot Issue

This has been going on since i had this pc built a couple years ago. I am using windows 7. I have 2 video cables hooked up from my graphics card. 1 is a dvi cable and the other is a vga cable hooked to my graphics card with a dvi to vga adapter. The computer boots to the dvi cable first and works but then switches to the vga second while still booting and runs via the vga cable. If i unhook the vga it boots to the dvi and then the screen says no input signal. On my last pc it would boot to the dvi first and then if it did not work it would switch to the vga. Is this something in the boot sequence or something else?
