Ms Wireless Keyboard / Laser Mouse 5000 Intermittent Problem

I have an intermittent problem with my ms wireless keyboard and laser mouse 5000. Windows is not recognizing the receiver in "device manager" and will not allow any updates due to compatibility issues. My ms wireless has worked then when i re-boot, it will not work. I cannot find anything consistent about the problem so i can't troubleshoot the issue.

The only consistent thing is that when the device manager is reading a failure on the receiver, i can change ports and it doesn't change anything. I tried removing the drivers, and installing new drivers but nothing seems to help. What do i do to get win 7 device manager to recognize my wireless keyboard and mouse receiver?

Wireless Printing

I have a new hp laptop connected to an hp ps1315 printer and another new hp laptop (both with windows 7) connected through a wireless network. I have been able to print wirelessly for a couple of months, but all of a sudden, the printer shows "offline" on the wireless laptop, but "online" on the connected laptop. Restarting everything seemed to work the first time this occurred, but will not work now. Is there a way to set the wireless laptop to "printer online"?

Problem Printing Through Wireless Printer Server

Problems printing with hp950c through a d-link dp-g310 wireless printer server after upgrade from windows vista to windows 7. I have a sony vgnz790dib that came with windows vista. I could access and use a hp950c inkjet printer through a d-link dp-g310 wireless printer server with vista. I upgraded to windows 7 yesterday and now cannot use the printer.

A dell xps 1330 running vista works fine. As far as i can tell, the ip address for the printer server on the sony is identical to that on the dell. I ran troubleshooter for the printer and there was no problem uncovered. I then went online to see if others had the same problem but could not find any identical problems. I went to hp online and found that there was an updated software which i downloaded and also connected the printer directly to the sony via usb and still no printing. Any advice on what to do next?

Mapping Network Drives On A Home Network Issue

I have two pc on my home network, one is a desktop running window 2000, attached to this is an external hard drive. The second is a laptop running windows 7. Before i upgraded to windows 7 i was running window vista on the laptop. When i had window vista on my laptop i was able to map a network drive to both the desktop's hard-drive and also to the external hard drive attached to the desktop.

After upgrading to windows 7 when i try to access the desktop or map the external hard drive i'm asked for a domain password. When i enter the user id and password of the desktop i keep getting the request for my domain password. I don't remember setting up a domain password at the time of the windows 7 upgrade.

Network Printing

I have a pc running 32 bit vista with a usb connection to my printer. It is connected wirelessly to my home network. It prints fine via usb. I have a new laptop running 64 bit windows 7. It also prints fine connected usb to the printer. When i try to wireless print over my home network, my print job does nothing. The so called network printer can be added on the laptop in the add printer wizard. The host machine has the 64 bit drivers installed for the windows 7 laptop.could it be a port issue? What port should the laptop have assigned to connect to the printer attached to the host machine on the network?

Printing On Network Printer

I upgraded 2 desktop pcs from vista to win 7. Each pc has its own printer directly attached. Prior to upgrading, both pcs could print to either printer. After upgrading, one pc can print to both but the other can print only the printer directly attached however, the printer on the other machine is visible when checking devices on the network. I have gone through checking network names, sharing, reinstalling drivers, deleting and reinstalling the printer with no success. I've even attempted to establish a "home group" but am unable to do so. Any suggestions?

Printer Not Printing Over Network

I saw a question similar to mine but not quite the same issue. My main desktop is running win7 pro and my laptops and other desktop are running win xp pro. I have set up a work network not a home network, per instructions from a friend in it. All other computers can see the printer and print jobs get spooled to the main computer. The jobs arrive but do not print. Just to clarify, i can print just fine from the main computer. I know there is a tutorial on here for this issue, but the graphics are no longer present, so it's rather difficult to check what the settings should be.

Network Printing Problem

I recently installed windows 7 over vista on the computer to which my hp all in one printer and my new linksys wireless n gigabit router are attached. I have another xp pro computer wired to the router. I also have two laptops running windows 7, one running xp pro and a desktop computer with xp pro that all at different times access the home network wirelessly.

Only the two computers wired to the router can print. All other computers either show the printer offline or an error occurred during print. The network is operating fine otherwise. The printer does not show up on the network but it does show shared under the printer's properties. The printer is a hp psc all-in one 2210 that everyone could print to prior to installing windows 7.

Sharing Wireless Network Between Win 7, Xp, Wireless Printer

I had no trouble sharing my wireless network when the desktop was xp and the laptop was xp. Since replacing the desktop with a new windows 7 unit, i cannot manage to set up a network. I just purchased a new wireless printer, and i cannot set it up wirelessly either. I can network the printer to work with the win7 desktop if i connect the printer to my router with a ethernet cable. My router sees all 3 devices and i can ping the printer and the laptop from the desktop. The desktop is connected to the router via ethernet cable.

Network Bidirectional Printing Support

On my home network i have a hp laserjet 4000 with 600n j3113a network card on the printer. It works fine for my computers but in windows 7 x64 ultimate rtm i am trying to enable "enable bidirectional support" on the printer and cannot do it. I check the box reboot and it is either grayed out or blank again.

I am trying to do this because applications that i am using in win7(hpscanjet g4050) will not print more than one page even though i request 12 pages to print. This happens when i scan a paper and want 12 copies, it will only print one. I thought that if i enabled "enable bidirectional support" it would do what it is supposed to. This function tells the computer when the last page was finished. That is where i am trying to get this enabled to see if it corrects the problem.
I have uninstalled the printer drivers, rebooted used the drivers from wu after no luck with hp drivers and so forth. No matter what i do the "enable bidirectional support" will not enable even checking the box.

Connecting To Home Wireless

I'll try to describe this as simply as possible. I cannot connect to my home's wireless. I can connect to my neighbors (not password protected) and my church's (password protected) networks, and begin to connect to my neighbors password protected wireless networks. My home's internet is up and running; there are multiple machines using it right now, including 3 laptops, a computer and a ps3. As i am running windows 7 on my macbook pro through bootcamp (3. 1), i can even boot into mac osx and i will be connected. The problem is this operating system, which i installed yesterday.

I think i messed up when i chose "public" network instead of "home" or "private" network during the installation. I think i've tried everything and any help is greatly appreciated. The message i get when i try to connect is essentially "windows was unable to connect to this network" note that this does happen with a few other networks around the area.

Home Network

I was connected to a home network by ethernet cable that worked fine. I purchased a new computer with windows 7 for my main computer and am now using my ex-main computer as the second computer in the network which has windows xp as the os. I connected the ethernet cable but cannot make a connection or be recognized by my new computer. The connection goes to a westtell router.
On the my ex-main computer i get a "dial up connection" message box. I have tired to re-progam the network and used the in computer repair and diagnostic tools. Internet works fine on the new computer.

Win 7 Home Network

Recently my home network wigged out on me. 3 machines, all win 7 home premium, 2 wireless and 1 hardwired into router(netgear 3700 max range dual band. All 3 set for home network and homegroup.
The 2 wireless can see both home network and homegroup and can access the files but the hardwired lan in to the router cant access the files on the 2 wireless. The wireless computers show in windows explorer but when i attempt access the files i get an error saying the specified network provider is invalid. The thing is, everything worked fine until one day it didn't.

All 3 boxes are less then 1 year old so they are pretty up to date. I even bought another router thinking that it maybe the problem but it didn't help. Any help? Also, is there any way to use one router as a repeater now that i have 2?

Cannot Connect To Home Network

I was on the internet on my pc earlier today and as i was typing in a url into the browser, all of a sudden, my internet connection was lost. When i tried to reconnect, it said "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. " I didn't change any settings and i've been using the internet with my home network for at least 4 months now with no prior problems. (We bought a new router and wireless adapter, both of which are trendnet and have never given us any problems before).

I tried uninstalling my wireless internet usb adapter and then installing it again and it still won't work. I've tried manually connecting to the network as well, but that won't work either. When i tried connecting to the network, it was also telling me that the password was incorrect, but when i checked on all the other computers/laptops in the house that are connected, they all had the same password entered and are all getting the internet. I really am stumped as to why the connection suddenly stopped working and why i can't get it to work again even after all i've tried.

Home Network Computers Do Not See Each Other

I have a hybrid home network with a cisco linksys wireless router and linksys voip phone adapter. I say hybrid, because my pc is hard-wired to the router while my laptop is wireless. Both computers are running windows 7. Both computers see the internet and work fine; however, i can't get the computers to see each other on the home network. I tried setting up the home network through windows 7 rules with no luck. I installed the cisco network manager software and the router software will not link the two together either. I have the network wired per the voip phone adapter instructions, which is to capture the modem stream through the voip adapter and send it to the pc. Phone also works fine this way. Anyone got a clue why the computers don't see each other, and if it is because of the way the voip adapter is connected, how should my network be wired?

Ip Address Conflict On Home Network

I am a new at this and have never asked a question before but i am utterly lost. I am having a problem getting my 3 computers to connect to my wireless network. I am running windows 7. I can connect the laptop but when i try to connect the netbook or the desktop. I get an error of "ip address conflict". Below is a list of what i have tired.

Disconnected the wireless router and the modem.
Reset the wireless router to try to force a new ip address.
I have read and read.

I just read about the dhcp client and that is enabled but if i do a cmd ipconfig /all it says that dhcp client is not enabled but the auto configuration is enabled. The physical address is showing a string of zeros. Done an ipconfig to release and renew on both the laptop and the netbook.

When i do just an ipconfig:

Connection-specific dns suffix domain_not_set. Invalid
Ipv6 address: 2002:45b6:6a50:45b6:6a50
Default gateway: 2002:c058:6301:c058:6301

I have read all over this forum and i keep trying everything and nothing is working. I am not sure if i gave enough information. Any advice?

Home Network Between Vista And Win 7

I have one laptop computer with windows 7 and one desktop computer with windows vista (both 64bit home premium). Both computers connect to internet via a dsl modem. The laptop connects to the modem using wlan and the desktop using lan cable. The internet is working fine.

Now i have been trying to create a home network. I would like to share some directories and the whole d: drive of the desktop in the network.

From the desktop(vista) computer i'm able to see the public folders of the laptop. I put some pictures in the directory and one quite small application. I'm able to view the content of the folders but the pictures are loading very very slowly. At the first time i tried to execute the programme (an installation programme of some small shareware application) i got an error message witch had something to do with dns addresses. At second time it worked but slowly.

I tried to share the d: hard drive of the desktop. From the laptop i'm able to see the icon of "d" in the network places but when i click it, get an error that i don't have the rights to open it.

Printer Does Not Work In One Of Laptops Using Home Network

I recently installed windows 7 on my three computers: a pc and two laptops. I use a hp psc 410 all-in-one-printer connected to the pc. However, it does not work in one of the laptops using a home network. The first laptop connects well with the printer through the network.

The second laptop does not as it keeps on asking to install a driver to connect to the printer. I clean-installed windows 7 on all three computers, so they should all behave the same. Any ideas or recommendations anyone?
