Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal - Bsod After Installing Norton

Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal -bsod appers after installing norton anti virus 2009, i bought my new laptop some days before, it had already anti virus software installed. S the subscription got expired, i tried to update the antivirus software using norton anitvirus 2009 in windows 7. Installation was success, but after restarting, bsod appeared. I did system restore and removed the old anitvirus software using removal tool, again bsod.

So whenever i install or uninstall norton anti virus software, bsod is appearing, otherwise the system is good.

Athrxusb.sys Driver Problem Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

I have been having a terrible time with a new computer i have purchased, it is the infamous driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. After searching the internet relentlessly for a solution to this problem, i have decided to post my own question, because it seems that this error is caused by faulty drivers or not properly installed drivers. I then searched for the driver named in the bsod, athrxusb.sys, and found it belongs to my smcwusb-g, part number 99-012084-552.

I have followed the procedures of many forums before deciding to post, i have tried uninstalling old drivers, moving the wireless adapter to different usb ports, and reinstalling the drivers. I also used programs such as device doctor to locate old and outdated drivers to replace them.
I would just go buy another wireless adapter, but i am worried that the driver, athrxusb.sys, will be required for any wireless adapter, no matter which i buy. I have seen that this error spans across multiple versions of windows operating systems, why not release a patch to fix this error? Is there one? If there is can it become more readily available to the public?

Ultimately i would like to fix the solution, buying a new device is not out of the option, i just want my pc to be able to connect to the internet without causing a bsod and wireless is the only option.

Bsod - Driver_state_power_failure

Bsod - driver_state_power_failure" caused by ntoskrnl.exe, just bought a new laptop and , immediately out of the box, started getting the same bsod over and over again. I had not installed any new software, hardware, or peripherals when this began.

Bsod - Driver_power_state_failure

I recently wanted to updated my qosmio g50-12f from vista 32bit to 7 64bit. I did a clean install: formatted the c partition.

Everything seemed to work fine until the "setup is preparing your computer for first use" screen. At first i thought it just froze as it wouldn't go any further. Rebooting (in any modes) would get the same effect.

But to my great surprise and pleasure, it managed to pass that point when i desperately decided to wait long enough for a miracle to happen. But the problem still remains. The configuration process is just !Really! Slow. I could painfully pass the first few screens, like enter computer's name, key activation screen, updates modes, but with a very long waiting time between each. And then it would suddenly go to a bsod:

Driver power state failure
*** Stop 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffffa800193dd70, 0xfffff80000b9c518, 0xfffffa80029c8610)

Please anyone has any ideas about how to solve this? Obviously it should be a driver problem, but how do i get to update any drivers without an os running? I've seen such a feature in the repair section of the install dvd but it only accepts . Inf files. And i can t find those anywhere on toshiba's support website. Only .exe that you run from your already running os.

Bsod - Memory_management

New build. Decided to go with win7. Cannot get the machine going. What i have:

Gigabyte p55a-ud4pintel i7-860ocz 4g ram 92 -2g sticks above items assembled and post test at micro center store before i brought home windows 7 home premium 64 - bit dvd installed in sonata iii case with 500w ps radeon hd 4670 1g video card seagate 1tb 32mb hdd (sata) logitech mk300 wireless keyboard & mouse pioneer dvr-218lbk (sata)i have attempted a number of installs and so far all have failed at some point.

I have received a couple of memory_management errors with bsod. I am beginning to wonder if i have a bad memory stick and if i should just randomly remove one (if the system will even run that way). Since i have not been able to get far enough in the install to install any drivers or windows & i assume i cannot run any kind of tests. I am assuming that the first thing to run after the system buildup was the win7 disc and it would prompt for hdd partitions and request drivers for hardware etc. I have build winxp systems for myself & son's and have not had issues there.

Last night i got message that windows is loading files; then starting windows; then a choice screen for language, time & currency and keyboard; select install now; setup is starting; license window; partition window(did show a system partition of 100mb and a second large partition where windows could install); i selected the large partition for the install location; message-copying files;then-expanding files; at about 1% expansion i got bsod - windows cannot install required files- error code 0x80070570.

I started again this am and did not get as far as last night and got the bsod - memory_management error with technical information of stop: 0x0000001a frustrated enough that i want to try installing my old winxp or returning the system for a refund.

Multiple Bsod

So as of today i have been getting multiple bsods i have no clue why, it happens when i am doing basic every day things such as browsing the internet, i have not gone anywhere suspicious of malware or anything like that so i do not think that is the case but it may be. Any suggestions? Log below. Additionally the bsod does not look how it should, it has solid black on the sides, i am assuming that is just a change of resolution because the bsod wont go as big as my screen but i could be wrong. If you need any more information please ask.

Win 7 Bsod Help

I got a new laptop about a month ago, since then i've gotten about 3 or 4 bsods. The bsod's started sometime in early january and it would always happen when my computer is in sleep mode so that after i wake my computer there would be a window that tells me the computer had shut down unexpectedly. So i did a fresh install on the 14th. And i got the report this morning that my computer had shut down unexpectedly.

This is what the box said this morning:

Problem signature
Problem event name:bluescreen
Os version:6. 1. 7600. 2. 0. 0. 768. 3
Locale id:1033

Extra information about the problem

Bcp4:82d3cb24
Os version:6_1_7600
Service pack :0_0
Product:768_1
Bucket id:memory_corruption_one_bit_large

And i found this in the event viewer

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x00000004, 0x00000258, 0x853ced48, 0x82d3cb24). A dump was saved in: c:windowsmemory.dmp. Report id: 011910-16114-01.

I'm running 32-bit windows 7 home premium
Programs i installed:
Firefox
Avast 5
Itunes
Ccleaner
Open office
Foxit reader
Quicktime
Skype

What's the problem (or how do i find out)?

Bsod After New Cpu

I've been looking and haven't seen anything on this topic, but if there is, sorry, didn't see it.
Anyways, i have been getting bsods every 2-4 hours ever since i installed my new processor. I cannot imagine why, but it happens, always saying usb_bugcode. As far as i am concerned the machine runs perfect; everything is fast, including games at 60 fps at least, would probably be even more when my 9800 gt gets back from repair (using a backup 8600 gt while it does). Anyways, people are saying it is my memory, however, like i said, everything is perfect besides the bsods and the occasional install error code.

I find it hard to believe that my 4gbs of ram, which by the way i found no errors on with memtest86 or windows memory diagnostics, suddenly became corrupted right on the minute when i installed my processor, not to mention the speed at which my computer runs. Would anyone know if the graphics card is doing this? Is its vram corrupt? Or is the computer just going mental because i installed a new cpu suddenly? I did format the hdd and reinstalled, so i know it's not viruses. The cpu is an e8400 @ 3. 00 ghz core 2 duo, 4gb of ram, an old 8600 gt, running windows 7 x64.

Bsod Shutdowns - Memory_management

I've experienced some seemingly random blue screen shutdowns that have different errors displayed in the second line. I know i've seen memory management and irql not less or equal but there were others as well. So far i've taken out each one of my four 2gb ddr2 ram sticks individually and waited to see if a blue screen still appears, and it eventually does. Now i'm at a loss and have no idea what to try next.

Bsod Using Nvidia 8600gts

Absod using nvidia 8600gts - tried multiple driver versions, no luck, anyone have a quick fix for this issue, which allows me to use both of my monitors?

I've been running vista x64 home premium since mid '07 with relatively few problems, but i wanted to try out windows 7, so i bought an upgrade to win 7 x64 home premium over the weekend. The system immediately became quite unstable, rarely working for 10 minutes without an abrupt reboot or freeze. Through experimentation i was able to turn the problem off/on by disabling/enabling the pci-e graphics card and instead using the built-in graphics card on the motherboard.

With my add-on card active, the computer will crash randomly when surfing the web or performing usual windows activities, like browsing the start menu. It can be forced to crash rapidly by personalizing the desktop and clicking a few aero schemes one after the other - it rarely allows more than one or two clicks before freezing or rebooting. The add-on video card is a msi nx8600gts-t2d256ez hd (geforce 256mb 128-bit gddr3 pci-e x16)

I've tried a few versions of nvidia drivers to no avail - there is really no notable difference in the crash behavior. I ran the memory test tool and it found no problems. I've even tried "underclocking" the gpu using a tool from nvidia, but that also had no effect. Crashes are less frequent if i turn off aero (but still occasionally occur when browsing websites). To reiterate, crashes are completely stopped (aero or not) if i disable the nvidia card and use the built-in graphics on my motherboard.

The problem seems to be related to usb related driver(s) (i.e. Bluetooth (widcomm/microsoft)).

Any ideas?

Bsod - Usb Vulnerability

This happened to me 1 week ago. The night before my computer was working fine. Turns it on the next morning and my usb mouse and usb wireless adapter were not working. I unplugged the mouse and plugged it back in and it worked. Then did the same to my wireless adapter. As soon as i plugged it in, i had a bsod and the computer restarted in less than 1 second.

The problems arrived when i checked my hotmail and found loads of spam being sent out from it and found that it was china sending these e-mails out to random people. Few days later i looked on my computer and noticed that applications had been replaced with chinese characters and that china had gone into my computer (i looked for this in the mcaffee logs on my computer).

My computer is fully up to date with updates from microsoft and there are no registry flaws at all. Any help here with this matter? As far as i am aware there was a vulnerability for this that had supposed to have been patched up.

Getting Bsod Randomly While Using Various Programs

So i upgraded my laptop computer (toshiba satellite) from windows vista 64 to window 7 64, and at first there were no problems. However, as i work, occasionally a bsod will come up. After the computer restarts itself, it shows up with the "find solution to problem" window:

Problem signature:

Files that help describe the problem:

Also, on the blue screen, at the top it says pfn_list_corrupt, then it proceeds to "file dump"? I have tried updating my drivers with windows 7 ones; i've tried cleaning the registry (with regdefense). However, neither of these have done anything to fix my problem. This is very much a problem, because my computer can restart itself without warning. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Bsod After Memory Upgrade

I have a win 764-bit  pc that has been solid as a rock since i installed in october. Recently i was doing a bunch of stuff and i noticed a distinct system slow in the system. Upon checking, it seemed to me that the 2bg memory was over committed and i ordered another 2x1 gb for the two open slots on the mb. My original memory was ocx dd2-pc3200 cl5. I used cpu-z to determine type and verified that that type was supported on my motherboard (intel dp35dp). I ordered 2 sticks of kingston ram of the same type also with the same voltage and cache latency (cl) numbers.

On power-up, bios recognized the 4gb of memory. All seemed well.

On windows boot, the logon screen came up. As soon as i selected my userid, i got a bsod and the machine rebooted. I booted into safe mode and everything came up fine. I looked and confirmed that windows oculd see 4gb of memory and that the page file was now 4gb.

Booted back with normal windows (since i didn't know what else to check, and the system booted up fine and i could log on. I started running the system performance evaluation and mid-stream another bsod. Again, the system rebooted too fast for me to read any of the diagnostics.

First question: how do i make the machine stop on a bsod and not reboot?

I have a old (ca. 2009) windows memory diagnostic disk here and i booted off that to run a memory diagnostic. That said the installed memory was bigger than 4gb and it could only test part of the installed memory. I'm letting it run while i'm typing this.

Second question: is there a memory diagnostic tool that is more recent and will test the entire memory range?

Third question: any other suggestions on how to trouble-shoot this? Anything that i might have overlooked, any compatibility issues i have not considered? This really sucks, i have been successful in upgrading almost every other component of this pc over time and have never had any problems.

Bsod Memory Management

I am using windows 7 home premium. After the installation i began to have bsods with the problem being "memory_management". I ran the windows 7 memory diagnostic. There were no problems indicated. I then ran the "sfc /scannow" and there were corrupt files that could not be repaired.

So i decided to do i did a clean install. I installed the latest bios from the manufacturer and reinstalled windows 7. After a day or two the bsod came up again with "memory_management". I ran both the memory diagnostic and "sfc /scannow" and both did not show problems of any kind.

Win 7 And Bsod - System_service_exception

I have had multiple problems since i have had this pc. The hardware has been tested and it has to be software related. I recently formatted and reloaded windows 7. Within 2 days i had the 3 errors yesterday.

System_service_exception
Bad_pool_header
Memory_management

Most of the errors are within 10 min of bootup. Occasionally it will last and go for days, until you reboot. I really need some ideas to what could be causing this as the machine is relatively worthless.

Win 7 64-bit Bsod

I recently got a brand new dell studio 14 with windows 7 installed and literally on the first or second startup, i received a bsod. I tried to find solutions and even called dell (but they ended up not being much of help), but still have been just dealing with it until now. Bsod During Boot Process

I was playing an on-line game when the system locked up. The keyboard was unresponsive, no ctlr-alt-del or anything else seemed to have an effect, i power cycled and now the system cannot pass the boot process before bsoding. I get the windows saying starting windows and it just starts to draw the microsoft 4 color logo (about 3 to 5 pixels worth) when it bsods and reboots. Trying the repair mode it just bsods again but without rebooting. If i try the command line it stops when it gets to classpnp.sys then reboots.

I did a full memory test using memtest86, all 8g passed 3 iterations.

If i try the repair, it "loads windows files" and then bsods with a machine_check_exception with a  stop value of 0x0000009c (0x000000000000003, 0xfffff88002865b60, 0x00000000b220000a, 0x00000000002010a)
