Ie8 Streaming Audio Problem On Win 7 64-bit

Ie8 64 bit and ie8 32 bit quit streaming audio on windows 7 64 bit system. Adobe says flash is not available for 64 bit. This is a new intel i7 920 windows 7 professional 64bit 6gb ram. For the past week, ie8 was streaming xm and a local radio station, then stopped working abruptly tonight. With regard to xm, after clicking on 'listen now' button, the status bar says 'errors on page' and won't load the player. I cleared cache, cookies, etc. No luck.

I used the reset button for ie8. No luck. Deleted the google and yahoo toolbars. No luck. I then uninstalled ie8 and reinstalled. Streaming is now partially working but the player wants to install macromedia flash. I link to adobe who says flash isn't available for ie 64 bit. So i tried ie8 32 bit. It won't stream at all. So i downloaded mozilla firefox and it works like a champ.

Any ideas why ie8 is misbehaving with regard to streaming audio? The pit bull in me wants to see ie8 working again as it did initially. Applications installed today included the hp software and driver for my c7180 all-in-one.

Cannot Play Audio From Online Streaming Video Through Headset

On my new windows 7 home premium system, i can not play audio from online streaming video (hulu) through my headset jack.

After looking around to troubleshoot, have checked here: on my taskbar beside the time, i click the speaker icon and can see the incoming signal for my hulu is coming in. On the control panel/sound i have tested the left and right sound output and it tests ok. So, why is the sound not getting to the headphone speakers? How can i make this work? Have tried both ie and firefox current releases and neither works. Was trying to watch the superbowl ads on Video works, but have no audio getting through.

Win 7 64-bit Doesn't Distinguish Between Ie8 64-bit And Ie8 32-bit

Windows 7 64bit doesn't distinguish between ie8 64 bit and ie8 32 bit when attempting to set a default browser using the control panel default programs 'associate' utility. My new windows 7 64 bit pc (luv that i7 920 intel cpu) came installed with both ie8-64 bit and ie8-32 bit (nothing more need be said regarding the absurdity of having to deal with this in the first place - i should have gone with the imac).

Anyway, ie64 bit lacks the flash player cuz adobe hasn't released a 64 bit version yet, per their website. So i can't use ie64 with xm online music stream (et al). Ie32, on the other hand, supports flash player, but won't successfully link to various embedded hypertext links, such as those embedded in an email. My initial solution was to use firefox, which served me well until an application from a local vendor will only work with internet explorer. Sigh.

I've used windows since version 2 back in the 1980s, have become stoic, and can emotionally cope with having to use 3 browsers to get the job done.

However, just for fun, my current burning question is, with two different versions of ie8 (64 bit and 32 bit) installed into windows 7, why doesn't the control panel default applications utility seem to aware of the fact that there are indeed two different versions installed? It lists firefox and internet explorer, but does not differentiate between the two flavors of ie. My goal was to set ie8 64 bit as the default browser temporarily to accommodate the vendor's application.

Fyi, by setting the default, i refer to: control panel | default programs | associate a file type or protocol with a program. Then scroll down to 'http' and click on the change program button. So in my case, firefox and only one instance of internet explorer, with no bit distinction, display as selection options.

Fw Audio Interface On Win 7 32-bit

I've got a terratec phase x 24 fw which worked perfect on vista. And it have glitches at playback, drops until reconnected (5050 that it will work without reboot), silence after pressing play after pause in all media pleer, doesn't work after returning from sleep mode.

I've tried near anything to solve the issue without a positive result (bought external ti chipset controller, switched to legacy driver for it, disable all onboard devices on my asus p5k-e/wifi-ap motherboard and so on). I hate rebooting twenty times and reconnecting fw cable fifty time a day just to make it work. Please, help me to solve this issue.

Configuring 5.1 Audio In 64-bit / Intel D945gcpe Motherboard

I have windows 7 professional 64 bit running on a system with the intel d945gcpe mother board that comes with realtek hd audio thing built into it. However i am not able to configure windows to use all three audio 3. 5mm jacks at the back to output 5. 1 surround sound (my speaker's input consists of three 3. 5mm jacks that i used to plug into the three slots at the back of my cpu). I was able to do this in windows xp just by selecting "5. 1 surround sound" under speaker type in the realtek software as well as in control panel. However in windows 7, this option is greyed out in the realtek audio manager. I am unable to find an option to change to 5. 1 audio setup in "control panel->sound" too. So how do i setup my speakers? In addition to the internal audio thing, i have a pci sound card (creative sound blaster 5. 1), however it is not supported in windows 7 yet, so i have to use the realtek thing.

Remove Ie8 64-bit

After a few hours with my 3rd party antivirus software help folks, they finally told me that their software works with win 7 - 64-bit but doesn't work with ie8 - 64-bit. I have ie8 - 64-bit loaded on my pc, along with the 32-bit version. I need to remove (uninstall) the 64-bit version.

If i remove ie8 via control panel | programs & features | turn windows feature on or off, by not selecting it, it's gone after a re-boot. However, when i then turn it back on, both the 32 & 64 bit ie8 appear. I need the ie8 64-bit to not be reinstalled (or uninstall ie8 64 bit ;^)

Anybody have any ideas?

Media Streaming Issue

This has been driving me crazy for the last 4hrs. I just recently bought an xbox 360 elite and have been trying to access my main pc to listen to music etc. However i cannot view my pc on the xbox at all, i can get into my laptop, my girlfriends laptop but i cannot access my main pc. All pcs are running windows 7 and the main pc is 64-bit. The problem i have put it down to is the main pc is not allowing media streaming to work. I have set all the required settings and tried all the work around and nothing works. The pc does not show up on any other network device as a "media device" which i believe is the reason the xbox cannot view it.

Cannot Turn On Media Streaming

This issue is incredibly frustrating. I was hoping to contact microsoft itself via email about this however their site seems to think my bloody product id has 'expired'. I genuinely hope you can provide the answers. The basic issue is that i want to turn on media streaming (in windows media player) but i can't. The reason is that the drop-down box for "show devices on:" (in network and sharing center/media streaming options) is completely empty, so i can't physically select anything. To see what i mean, click here to see a screen-print of the issue.

How the heck do i actually get around this and turn it on? I seriously want to turn it on so that i can use it for streaming to my xbox 360 while i play. (By the way, if it makes any difference, i'm on windows 7 64-bit home premium)

I have a slightly peculiar problem i currently run windows seven home premium 64-bit with 4gb ram and i am trying to media stream from my computer to my xbox. Doing this i have no problem they connect to each other and they stream wonderful. But once the media streaming is enabled or turned on my ram memory is filled up to 90% and keeps increasing my computer slows down and i cant do anything unless i go into the task manager and force end the "windows media player network service" then my ram empty back to its original 17% what's going on is this a bug in windows seven because im sure this is not supposed to happen i have to go in to the services and disable this from starting now every time.

Streaming Video Problem

Ever since i performed a clean reinstall of windows 7(x64), i have been having a problem with streaming videos where they would play fine in full screen for a while but then would exit full screen for no reason. I have checked my background programs along with my settings and none seem to be out of order. I've been scratching my head for a while now as to a remedy for this problem.

Also had the same problem with wmp 12, but fixed that by switching to vlc media player but would like to not rely on different programs to fix an odd problem such as that one. On a side note, i do not have a screen saver on as well as my anti-virus program is kept on silent mode during full screen viewing as to not interrupt the streaming and my drivers are all up to date. Did not have this problem before reinstalling windows 7, so not sure what could have changed to cause this problem.

Streaming Video And Download Problem

I am running on windows 7 and when i go to watch streaming video it will load up between 5 seconds - 60 seconds (roughly) and then stop. It will not continue to load or buffer unless i click ahead in the video and then it will continue loading it from that point and i will get another 5-60 seconds of video before i have to click ahead in the video again.

Now with downloading off of the internet it will stop downloading after a certain amount of time (random amounts again) but typically if i pause the download and resume the download it will continue, until it stops again and i have to pause and resume to continue downloading it.

Now if i use a program to download something (like limewire or vuze) it never stops downloading. It will download the entire thing fast without stopping once. I use mozilla firefox btw. But ie does the same thing, that google chrome did the same thing. I do not know how to fix this problem.

Cannot Play Internet Radio Streaming

I just did a clean install of win7 and after a quite of hassle i have everything working perfectly in mediacenter with ffdshow. Mp3's are playing, audio on tv is fine, videos, mkv files, subtitles all working without a glitch but i cannot play any stream link from within media player. On xp and vista i had several links on my library of windows media player that point to stream radio usually from shoutcast and usually in the form of . Pls files where i click on it and the streaming was happening flawlessly from within windows mediacenter as well.

On the new installation now when i open any stream url from within windows media player i just get a generic error "windows media player cannot play any items on the list. ". Is this a codec thing ? I tried almost anything but i cannot fix this.

Media Player 12 Streaming Video Stutters

I've been having this problem for awhile now and i'm about at my wit's end with it. When i'm streaming any kind of video using wmp12, the video and sound just briefly stutter every 5 seconds or so and it's incredibly irritating. It doesn't seem to be a bandwidth/buffering issue, as it doesn't occur in other media players (media player classic for instance) and changing the network buffering settings to force as much as 30 second buffering doesn't seem to affect it (and it starts doing it before the 30 seconds of buffered time has elapsed).

It doesn't do it, however, if i download the file and play it from the hard drive. I have all sound enhancements turned off, srs wow turned off, and my video and sound drivers are current. I am running windows 7 home 64-bit. If anyone has any other ideas to try, i would very much appreciate it.

No Sound On Games And Streaming Video Won't Play

I got a laptop computer from hp with windows vista, upgraded to windows 7 when it came out. It used to be that when i'd first turn on my computer, everything worked fine, but when i opened it after only shutting the thing (that is, without shutting down or logging off or anything like that), the sound, games (online and on my computer), and streaming video would not work. So i would just restart my computer and everything would work again. Now restarting isn't working. I can't get any of that to work. What can i do to cure this?

Xp Mode Is 64-bit Or 32-bit In Win 7 64-bit

I am planning on purchasing win 7 pro & installing the 64-bit version. I intend to make use of the "xp mode" feature if i can install 32-bit printer drivers within the xp mode, as my photo printers have no 64-bit drivers. I currently edit my photography on a win xp pro 64-bit pc, which is networked to a win xp pro 32-bitpc in order to print images. I need to know if "xp mode" is 32-bit - even when installed with the 64-bit version of win 7 pro. I want to be able to convert/edit my photos in win 7 64-bit, then print these images using "xp mode" via the 32-bit driversi intend to installin xp mode- all from the same pc. Is this do-able?

Ati Radeon Sapphire 5770 - Win 7 64-bit Asks For 32-bit Drivers

I have windows 7 64 bit. I recently changed my video card for an ati radeon sapphire 5770. I had an nvidia before that stopped working. I installed the lastest drivers from ati for win7 64 bit (version 10. 5) after uninstalling those from nvidia. Everything seems to be working fine, but windows keep telling me that there's no drivers installed for my card, even tho i can access the catalyst control center. When i click on the link that windows provide, it always lead to the 32 bit version of win 7. Is it a known problem? Is there something i can do to correct that?

Multi-boot System Win 7 64-bit & Vista 32-bit On One Hard Drive

Multi-boot system windows 7 (64-bit) & vista (32-bit) on one hard drive - do i need two hard drives?I have an existing windows vista ultimate (32-bit) system installed on a 500gb sata hard drive, partitioned into 2 partitions (c: and d:). I would like to make the system multi-boot so that i can back-track to vista if i have a problem with win7.

One issue here is that i plan on multi-booting vista 32-bit and win7 64-bit on the same hard drive without touching the d: partition of the hard drive. I don't know if this is possible, but i'm interested to see if it is.

I've done some research and have found that win7 has many compatibility modes, so maybe i don't need to worry about keeping an installation of vista on my system? I just don't want to be "caught with my pants down" if something were to go wrong with win7, like if one of my programs was incompatible or something along those lines.

If i can't multi-boot vista 32-bit and win7 64-bit from the same hard drive, can i do it with 2 hard drives having one os on each hard drive? Or, am i being much too paranoid about this and should i trust microsoft on this one that win7 will not have any large compatibility issues with my most used programs?

For reference, here are some of my most used programs: firefox 3. 5, steam, adobe photoshop (versions 7. 0 and cs3), ie tester (for web development), winamp, trillian (an im and irc program), itunes, skype, mozilla thunderbird (for e-mail), and fraps (in-game video recording software).

I know that this is a lot all at once, but does anyone see any foreseen compatibility issues with any of these programs and win7 64-bit ? I'm also worried about the compatibility of some of my drivers with win7 64-bit, but i've heard that there have been leaps and bounds made with driver compatibility on win7 64-bit (as compared to the mess it was with xp 64-bit). Is this true?

Printer Sharing - 64-bit Win 7 And 32-bit Xp In Remote Desktop Session

Printer sharing - 64 bit windows 7 and 32 bit windows xp in a remote desktop session. Windows 7 machine with a local ricoh / aficio 1045 b & w multifunction printer attached. Works fine, uses 64 bit printer driver. This computer connects to a windows xp machine (32 bit) using remote desktop session (terminal services).

On the xp machine, i installed the 64 bit printer driver via printers and faxes -> server properties - drivers - add driver. I can see the driver there, successfully installed (have rebooted, etc). Despite this, the printer will still not show up when rd session is run. In event viewer, i can see there's an issue with it finding the correct driver.

I've used the terminal server printer redirection tool in the past to solve these problems (tspdrw.exe) which works great. The correct 64 bit driver is not listed as a choice when scrolling through options to reassign the driver. Hopefully that is clear, not sure what i am missing.

Can anyone tell me with certainty if the drivers will or wont work for windows 7?
